So glad I bought this. I really feel that if you pay $700 for a headunit, it should come with this optional mic,but it does make a huge difference with the auto EQ and time features. If your Pioneer has the option, I would highly recommend buying and using this piece.

Bought this cable in June, by November the cable stopped working- mind you this is in a car that is not driven every day and with normal wear and tear- plug in the cable into my phone, set some music to play, put the phone down and rarely touch it for the duration of the trip. My previous aux cable lasted over 3 years.

At first I thought it was a dud, but after reading a few other reviews I figured I just had to find the magic code to enable the AUX input. I have an AVIC-N3, so this plugs into the "brain" unit under my passenger chair. The cord isn't extremely long, but I was running it to a small bluetooth audio adapter in my center console as a cheap way to pair it with my phone and it did the trick.
For the AVIC-N3 you have to turn the source "off", then press the A.MENU button (press the toggle button in), then touch the "INITIAL" button on the screen and there will be an option to turn AUX on. It's on page 112 of the operation manual.

Absolute waste of money. I have Boston Acoustic's speakers, with an alpine sub/amp combo and a Pioneer 5600 head unit. This things Auto Eq made it sound like a giant cell phone speaker. Completely tinny and flat. I do NOT recommend. Find your sweet spot by ear, not with this piece of trash. I'd return it, but after the payment for UPS drop off or pick up I'd only get $10 back. Not worth your time or money.

My cat ate my old one. For whatever reason, no amount of splicing, soldering or shielding would fix it. I found this thing and it is a spot on replacement which allowed for instant calibration of the 5.1 elite receiver I have. Sure, I could have done it by ear, but why? Most of the audiophile nonsense surrounding these things is better left to people who have sound staging rooms, not for people who just truly enjoy the loud racket from every appropriate angle in their movies.
This thing worked as it was supposed to. it did not exceed expectations.

works as expected.
allows me to plug my GS5 into older pioneer headunit. simply plug-in and then go into the clock settings (power-off) then just after the clock options is the option to turn AUX on or off. you want it ON . after that you select the source as AUX and it works great.

Another piece of equipment by Pioneer that has bad sound quality because of cheap build. Way overpriced and lacks any quality whatsoever.

Great accessory for Pioneer products. I used it on my new Pioneer SPH-DA120 AppRadio 4 and it sounds incredible even with OEM speakers in the car.

Bought this auto-eq mic and won't work on any pioneer dvd head unit when the parking break is bypass. It should have it on the description saying that it won't work when bypass parking break. It's too much of a hassle to remove the entire dash to get into the back of the headunit and removing the micro-bypass relay.

I needed a new one because after eight months in my house (eight months when the dog never once gave this a second of attention) it became a sudden item of intense interest for a three-year old Weimeraner.
And something about it was such that only a period of intense chewing could set things right again.

Doesnt exactly do anything. Maybe there's another radio that works with this, but I couldnt make this work at all. I had my doubts, as I didnt think the IP-Bus system had a direct audio input... Waste of money for me. But perhaps with a different radio or configuration it would have worked...?

It works but is of very low quality. the 3.5mm jack kept coming out of my ipod causing it to pause, I taped a short extension on and now it works. the other end looked to be coming apart it didn't fit right and we had to force it in. try another if you can don't think it can get worse(other than not working)

I wish I had done a bit more homework before ordering this. Two major issues with using this on AVH-Series auto A/V head units with Auto-EQ:
1. It doesn't EQ well. You can do better with either your ears, or with a smartphone app called AudioTools and a Dayton Audio iMM-6 calibrated microphone, for about the same price.
2. This will not work AT ALL if you installed a parking brake bypass on your Pioneer head unit.

Great product. Used this on my Pioneer AVH-4000NEX installed in my Civic with stock speakers. Made a world of difference. Just follow the instructions and in a few minutes your ears will be pleased.

This cable makes it possible to use the second input location on the rear of the Pioneer DEH-5100 for your iPhone, ipod, sat radio, etc. I didn't want to have cables running to the front of the unit and this cable makes it easy to use the rear input location with many different devices. Be sure to go into the Pioneer's set-up menu to activate the AUX-2 location. Otherwise, you'll think the cable isn't working (slow learner.....).

i have a "older" high end pioneer deck that lack the ipod functionality.
i looked aimlessly for how to connect an ipod or other external device to my deck, all solutions pointing to the stupid CB-100 I and II ipod boxes which are 1) discontinued and 2) hard to source with all the necessary wiring etc.
i stumbled upon this glorious cable, and said "what the hell its only 8$."
paid the 8$, cable arrived...plugged into the blue aux port in the back of my deck...enabled the aux input through my deck and now i have ipod / mp3 / telephone that can act as music sources when the inserted CD becomes stale.
super happy with the product and it saved me a costly 200-300$ in sourcing out that CB-100 I or II box with out the hassle of wiring in additional components.

Works on a Pioneer DEH-P4500MP. Plugs right into the aux jack in the back of the deck. I wish I had purchased this sooner!

Reduced the product rating to 3 stars as the part gave out after a few months of use. It slowly had more and more problems until it flat out didn't work. I still give it 3 stars as it's a cheap fix for an older deck, it just has very poor build quality (you get what you pay for).

I installed this item alongside the factory radio in a 2007 GT500. This unit works very well and recieves a clear signal easily. I live in a remote area with limited radio stations, but after installing this unit, I am able to pick up many more stations than normal and with greater clarity. I would definitely reccomend this product to others for purchase.
