This Onkyo CD Player replaced an earlier model. The previous unit provided great service until old age caused it to malfunction. Paired with an Onkyo receiver, it provides great sound and the convenience of hours of uninterrupted music.

I saw some of the same issues posted on Amason but ignored them because Onkyo has been a good brand for me. After I got the product and I had the same issue I went to the Onkyo web site and saw the same issue posted there - why are they still shipping a faulty product? I even paid extra for two day shipping so I could have Xmas music over the holidays. Now its to close to Xmas to order online and I have to go to the local WalMart and buy a GE or RCA brand just to get through with some music - disappointing.

I chose this rating because I didn't realize how large the unit actually is.

I'm happy with this Onkyo mulit-disc player. I'm still using my Onkyo receiver; God only knows how many years I've had it, stellar performance, very happy.
However, I have one question about the Onkyo CD player. GIven that the trays are shallow, and I've had discs pop free while the tray is rotating, is it possible for a CD to come free and become lodged somewhere in the mechanism?

This unit lasted for less than one year from the time I started to use it until it completely broke. The door to load the cds stopped opening and I had used the unit so infrequently I stomped on it and threw it away. I have had problems with other ONKYO products as well. Try some other brand...

I purchased this to replace another Onkyo component. I went on vacation for two weeks, and forgot to turn off my stereo. Bad idea. My receiver timed out, but the CD component did not. So after 15 years, it was time to replace it. I purchased this item to replace the over-heated component. Crystal clear sound, sturdy, Anything Onkyo is top notch, and this component is no exception. Does lots of nice things with music files. I've always had Onkyo stereo components, and I see no reason to change.

I haven't dumped my CD library for one of the online music libraries yet.
The Onkyo fits rather well with my reciever amplifier and no problems yet!
It worked right out of the box and I now have hours of commercial free music.

The player works great. We picked it because of the multiple CD capacity and the price. CD players are hard to find these days in the age of MP3. The features of random track listening is a nice extra.

No fault of the CD player itself but I had a specific spot to place it to replace one that had broken and this player was about an inch deeper in length which causes it to stick out from the shelve unit. However, it works beautifully and I'm totally satisfied with it. I guess I just never thought about dimensions when purchasing online.

I was looking for something that didn't break the bank to play music for several hours when we had friends over for dinner or card games. I hooked the Onkyo to a Bose surround system and it sound WONDERFUL! It changes quietly from one disc to the other when set to random play( which is what I do most of the time). I hated to leave my guest several times in an evening to change CD's . This works great for what I intended. I find myself turning it on while I clean or am working on the computer etc. I'm a music person and listen to music daily so it was a good purchase for me. I would recommend it to anyone who isn't wanting to spend to much but have a good addition to their entertainment systems.

Donated it to someone who enjoys "tinkering" with things. I have no idea what was wrong but the button to open tray did not work and the remote was no help either. Followed instructions carefully (and repeatedly) but to no avail. Next time I'll buy my electronics from a "real" store.

This Onkyo CD changer has a very smart appearance and easy to use. The mechanism is quiet and efficient giving excellent music reproduction. I had been using a Cambridge Audio Azur single CD player which had been driving me crazy for months.. both noisy and unreliable! to my mind this Onkyo unit, represents a huge improvement in every conceivable way. Only beware it is quite a large component so check the dimensions. If you have limited space for your Hifi components this unit may not be the right choice for you.

This CD changer was bought to replace a similar product, unfortunately the random play on this model is not always random playing continuous songs from 1 cd on occasions, other than that I am very pleased with the unit
