The product description specifically states that this console is backwards compatible with Nintendo Gamecube games and controllers, but the one we received (from seller TRG) was NOT. The kids opened it Christmas day and tried to hook it up, but it wouldn't work. We checked the box and sure enough, it says "This Wii console is not compatible with Nintendo GameCube Game Discs or accessories." Not sure whether to blame Amazon or the seller, but either way it's false advertising and a big disappointment on Christmas.

The system was essentially "dead on arrival." After setting the system up, a system error occurred when the system accessed the disc supplied with the system. I don't know if it was the system or the disc since I only had one disc. I suspect it was the system since the disc looked okay. I blame Nintendo for this, not the seller.

This delivery went beyond my expectations. The wii was in nearly perfect condition and came with everything I needed and more! My family has been having a great time playing it in the living room and I am so glad I made this choice. If someone is looking for a wii to buy get it from this seller!

At just 50 dollars more, you get a lot more for your money with the Wii U deluxe. Though many people may grumble and say that they don't want Nintendo land, the Wii U deluxe's built in 32 gbs of space is likely to be valuable if you think you might download software from the eShop.The charging cradle for the Wii U controller is also a nice addition which only comes with the Deluxe.So unless you're really fond of the console or have a few simcards on hand, I'd suggest the black Wii U deluxe.

I have a widescreen TV. This was the only way to get the Wii to display in a widescreen format. It also enables a progressive scan instead of interlaced which does indeed look nicer. 480p vs 480i. Still not HD, but better than S-video. I do notice a difference with Hulu Plus and Netflix streaming on the Wii.
The generic here works just fine. There's some confusion with the colorings on the cable, in that they are not the same as what was on my Wii. However, a little common sense will sort that out when you plug it in. I had no issues with quality or compatibility. Absolutely recommended over the Nintendo-branded cables.

In seeing the reviews, depending on who you fills the order you might get good or bad cables. There's no way to verify what you bought. I couldn't even get the same cables if I wanted.
I would stick with the Fulfilled by Amazon listings on this product to take advantage of the easy returns if anything goes south. We're talking about a buck or two difference between cost. Not worth the hassle if you get crummy cables and have to fight over refunds and returns.

Took only minutes to set this console up, installing parental controls took seconds (and the Wii walked me through that). What a relief that it went so fast with an anxious 11 year old beside me!

Like all Wii games this one is not for the "hardcore gamer". As you would expect from Nintendo games, this offers loads of addicting fun. Has plenty of different sports and offers something for everyone. Even if you think, "I won't play that" you end up giving it a try and there goes half the day.Should I buy it you ask....it's worth it at full price so at a discount it is a MUST BUY!Any cons? Some of the games aren't as exciting as others. Also, some of the games aren't true simulations of the actual sports but if you're looking for that then get of the couch you lazy < expletive >!!!

For the first year of Wii-dom, this set of games was what we did as a family almost every night of the week. We bowled against each other, our son dominated the family in baseball, we did the fitness routine (a challenge consisting of a mix of the sports) to try and improve our skills and condition, and we played a little Wii golf.As year two and three of ownership came and went, we moved on to more advanced games, but still pop in Wii Sports from time to time. Kids are older now, one gone to college and the other in high school, so it does not get the use that it once did. When in elementary school and up to high school, this game rocked.It also teaches you how to use all of you Wii accessories in preparation for the advance games.Good disc

My family loves this game. We are not ones for long winded games with levels to beat and time consuming . We prefer fun competitive games that you can play for a bit and be done. We all enjoy Mario Kart for this reason, great to play for fun family time.

Exactly. Let's be honest here, it's just more fun with the steering wheel! The fitment on these is unchallenged as other brands I've owned aren't nearly as snug or the trigger placement is weird/iffy. Highly recommend this and the price is great with Prime!

My wii didn't come with this disk and I totally recommend this to everyone! Classic duck hunt rocks and the other games are great for some rainy day fun!Two thumbs up!

I have a Nintendo Wii and wanted a few games I saw wii play and thought it would be fun. There was a very brief description of the game when I got the game I found out its an instructional game. If there was a better description of the game I would not have purchased it this so called game is meant to help you get used too using the controler the games are basic weak and not fun to play :-(

Of course the WII is awesome. Bought the extended range bar because we have a huge living room. Works great, got here on time, good price, can't complain. I got mine for 138 bucks and they are at walmart for 129.99. No biggie though. Saved me from having to make a trip to that hell hole. Thanks!

In a household with four people who commonly play video games, it was easy to see that we needed more controllers for the Wii. I ordered this so I could play, too! It came in name brand packaging, and I'm pleased with that because I dislike buying off brands of controllers and whatnot. I've had bad luck with Nyko and MadCatz or whatever, so, I'm sure you can understand...But I got what I wanted, a Nintendo Wii Nunchuk controller. I'm pleased with it.
