I have owned a Wii ever since it was released by Nintendo in 2006 and it has yet to seriously disappoint me. No other console can boast the variety and wide appeal that the Nintendo Wii has. For instance, without a doubt the Wii is the king of party games and dominates the casual gaming audience. The shear number of games is evidence enough, including the Just Dance franchise, Wii Sports, Mario Party, and the Guitar Hero/Rock Band franchises. All of these games, while not appealing to the hardcore gamers, received high reviews and sold massive amounts of units. Not only that, but the Wii created the fitness craze in gaming that started with Wii Fit and the Wii Balance Board. As an example I can use my family. My mother and sisters don't like video games at all, but when they say the fitness game they decided to try out the system. We have moved up to party games now as a family and that fact is due to the genius of Nintendo and the Wii's wide appeal. Some would argue that the Wii, by having such an appeal to the casual crowd, has abandoned the hardcore crowd. However, this is simply not true. Metroid Prime 3, a host of Zelda and Mario games, and even shooters like Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, and James Bond can all be found on the Wii. These games have all received rave reviews and, having played them myself, I can attest that they are great games. They offer large amounts of quality content. There is also the fact that the Wii and all of its accessories are incredibly cheap. High profile games can be found from $30-50 and the console itself can be found for only $150 at the most. This is nothing in comparison to the high price tags of the PS3 and XBox 360. In the end, the Wii offers a great variety of quality games for all crowds. I could have a party with many people and then I could shut myself in the house and play a 5 hour session of Zelda afterwards. The Wii is a fantastic system that I recommend to all.

I have the wii fit, but of course got bored with it, so I needed to add something to switch up my routine and absolutely love it. I can really get into the different games. I think the sword one is my favorite, Great stress reliever and my kids love playing it with me. The price was excellent.

A great accessory and useful when playing mario Kart. Nintendo never disappoints when they produce new items for specific games. Although I'm used to the regular, standard controller, I feel as though this is a great addition to my collection.

I recently bought this cable to improve my picture quality of my Wii. So far the cable seems to work just fine and the picture is sharper and a bit more vibrant than with the stock composite cable. Plugs are nice and fit and the cable overall appears to be of good quality. I would highly recommend this over some other higher priced cables on the market. A very good deal.

Before I bought the wii I did some reserch on it and competing it with the upcoming playstation and upcoming XBox 720 it won the compation!!!! I have $1.00. I get paied 1 cent every year.

Update 1 day: Now I have the wii and it is great!!!!!! I play a game that my school friends play and it is awsom!!!!! I play all wii games and all of them are great!!!!! I atleast give each game 1000000000000000000000000000000 cheers!!!!!

After 7 years of Wii the prices have dropped dramatically, with the release of Wii U. This holiday season of December 2012 you could find the Wii bundle for $149-169 on amazon, but you can buy it for $129.99 at BestBuy and GameStop. Even when adding tax, it's still a better deal. Amazon.com has it out of stock now, so I don't know if they will match pricing when they have it in stock again.
As for the product itself, I am sure many have reviewed it before me, so I am not adding yet another detailed review of it. 5 stars, no doubt, best product for kids.

Price was right and works well. Switching to 480p is a definite improvement. The Wii is fun playing on my big screen TV.

I am a sucker for Nintendo my dad bought me the Wii for Christmas! Love it! Can't wait til I get my hands on the Wii U too! But I have too mention I was somewhat disappointed with this product. I thought Nintendo would have been observing their competitors like Sony and Microsoft. Because the Xbox360 plays dvd's and the Playstation 3 plays dvds and Blueray! But not the nintendo Wii but now I want to get the Wii U after I saw the trailer for its next generation which will have a dvd channel. THANK GOD! I don't care about blue ray. I'm against it. I think that it came out too early. They should've waited til dvd's were canceled and obsolete. So I'm sticking with dvds no matter what I'll be glad too if the dvd channel doesn't support blue ray. This is not too piss off blue ray supporters. We both just have seperate opinions. But now I'm gonna have too get a 2nd Wii remote or Wii-mote because a lot of Wii games are being made now where it can only be played with this specific accessory. But I find it too be interesting that a lot of games are also being made too only need the Wii-mote and not the nunchuck included. I'm surprised they wanna do away with it so early! Like dvd's only opposite... I also hope that Nintendo will soon make a social network so that Nintendo Wii can be more socialable without requiring the friend code. If they do I'm guessing they would call it Miiverse! And your avatar Mii will have to be uploaded to it instead of a photo along with the QR code for those having a 3DS! your video replays will be saved and automatically uploaded to Miiverse sort of like a diary the status making would be merely the little part of being associated with Miiverse. In order to find people you know on Miiverse you would have to access the Mii global community or Mii globe and you can find other people by looking at there Mii's! I was inspired of this concepted after downloading the Mariokart channel. I believe that Miiverse would be similar to playing Mariokart channel. So I hope Nintendo reads this review and sees my idea. Go ahead and take it I don't care!

my grandkids love these games especially the shooting with the gun like hunting the birds n targets.also the sports pack allows them to use their assecories on these games but i ordered the gun separately and glad i did as the 4 yr old loves that one seems to be easiest for him to do

I ordered this item to improve the picture on our 47" HD TV when viewing Amazon Instant video. There was a noticeable improvement in the picture quality when I replaced the Wii composite cable with this component cable. It didn't HD, but it definitely improved. Worth several times the $5 that I paid for it.

Nintendo one of the largest game system makers on the planet. Founded on September 23, 1889.So if it wasn't for Nintendo a lot of other systems wouldn't be around now. The name Nintendo can be roughly translated from Japanese to English as "leave luck to heaven". We have the new Wii U, Wii, Plus all the other older systems. Games For Wii staff are all Nintendo Fans to the heart! We all own every system Nintendo has ever made between all of us. There's nothing like playing a game you use to play as a kid. Game has this annoying requirement to put the controller down on a still surface and wait for calibration. Not easy to do when you have the wrist band on and the nunchuck attached. Games are fun, however. Motion sensitivity is definately enhanced with the WII Motion Plus, perhaps too much so for the golf and bowling games.

My new favorite form of exercise is officially the wii sports. I get to get my daily cardio activity and a good deal of stretching in. I am a fan of this because not only is it a fun game, it also rewards you with healthy exercise.

Despite being a non-HD console without even the ability to play DVDs, the Wii still gave Sony and Microsoft a run for their money two Xmases in a row over the past five years. The motion controller and nun-chuck was an innovative idea that attracted customers who had only ever been used to standard control pads. But with the release of PlayStation Move Starter Bundle and Kinect Sensor with Kinect Adventures and Gunstringer Token Code the Wii has lost its unique edge, and since it never offered anything like the PlayStation Trophies or Xbox Achievements the online features are limited to those stupid 'Miis' and the rather dull Wii Store.
The console itself is sturdy but small, and feels more like a toy than something that belongs connected to your home entertainment system, thus making it more likely to be kept in a kid's bedroom. There is no separate audio out and the video connection is, at best, RGB. It has the ability to play GameCube games, which is a huge bonus as there are a lot of hidden gems out there for that system, but they are region-locked, so you can't import otherwise unavailable games from the other countries, ditto for the Wii games themselves. None of the downloadable features are really any good. If I want to load pictures onto a games console the PS3 is more appropriate, plus it also features the ability to save audio and video files, which the Wii doesn't. One of the better features is the aforementioned Wii store, which offers retro Nintendo and Sega games. But they hardly ever update it and the payment system feels like a con.
I really do feel that the reign of the Wii is over. It's a Remora fish swimming in the wake of the bigger consoles. If you're going to invest in something for your kids or for your home theater then leave this be. It's great for a toy if you pick it up cheap, though it will never be a 'main' Xmas or birthday present again. I'm sorry to say it, but unless Nintendo goes HD for their next console, they are finished.

The description on this product said it was compatible with GameCube games, but what arrived at my house was the new super cheap unit that does not play the old games. I returned it in a flash. Ordered from another Amazon vendor and got the correct unit.

I've forward it to Libya where I work, in Libya they support 220v and the Wii Adapter was 120V , it is Ok .so I had to wait till I buy new Adapter with 220 volt . finally got it . I connected to the TV and there is NothingI'm taking it today for maintenance , where I can not return the Item from Libya it will cost allotDont buy from here guy , really you will hate it

My son is 8 years old, and he LOVES this game. However, it only took him 4 days to beat the game. He's quite advanced in video technology, and the bright side is that he continues to play it even though he's beat it already.

Ordered this because I wanted a black console, not white. Arrived quickly, in excellent condition. Compact size is wonderful. Word of advice: if you have a tv that has separate speakers (our speakers are separate from tv, on Bose) and you do not have sound, simply take that triple cable (red, yellow, white) and plug the yellow into the tv but the red and white where the sound comes from. In my case, they are in the Bose system. I had no sound....drove me nutty. Even looking online found no solution. This worked perfectly!
