Though I had been a Nintendo fan since the original NES, the less than stellar N64 and Gamecube had diminished my faith in the company (as you can see in my older Gamecube reviews). They had allowed Sony to come in and takeover the market with its Playstation brand. However, Nintendo decided to go back to the drawing board and released a monster of a system that would separate them from the rest of the industry. Enter the Wii.I was initially skeptical of motion controls as I had seen it attempted before in gaming but Nintendo hit the right spot. They included a copy of the mega-popular Wii Sports with every console. Wii Sports contained various easy to pick up and play, yet enjoyable sports games. For the first time ever, my mom, girlfriend, or any of my non-gamer friends can gather around the TV and enjoy a videogame together. The motion controls aren't 100% accurate but they are good enough to get the job done. At first Wii Sports was the only game I owned for the Wii but as time passed more major releases came out. Now there are many great games such as Mario Kart Wii, Mario Party 8, New Super Mario Bros., and my personal favorite, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. All of these games are highly accessible to all types of people and provide a group gaming experience that the rival Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 are unable to match. When I have friends over they always want to play the Wii.Another bonus for the Wii is the Wii Store. Here you can purchase several older titles from past Nintendo systems. From Mario 64 to Mike Tyson's Punchout, all the popular titles are here. Since buying many of these titles can be rather expensive over time, I only picked up my absolute favorites.Now no system is without its faults. So I'll go into those of the Wii. Most faults will be in comparison to its rival consoles, the PS3 and 360. The biggest difference is the graphics. The other systems are capable of displaying games in high definition (720p/1080p), while the Wii is limited to enhanced definition (480p) at best. The Wii also is the only one of the three systems to not include a built-in hard drive for storage. The last major difference is the online. The Wii has online play but the interface is not quite as fluid or user friendly as those on the PS3 and Xbox 360. My only other knock on the Wii is the price of the controllers. The controller consists of the Wii-Mote and and Nun-Chuk. The Wii-Mote runs for $40 and the Nun-chuk for $20 so you're looking at $60 total for a controller. A little on the expensive side. While not a personal complaint of my own, I do notice many gamers complaining about the Wii's third party(non-Nintendo) titles, or lack thereof. Major titles like Call of Duty MW2, Assassin's Creed, and Grand Theft Auto simply pass over on the Wii. While it would always be nice to have a larger selection of games, the Wii is meant to provide a different type of gaming experience than the PS3 and 360. For people who want those kinds of games, I think it's best to have both a Wii and either a 360 or PS3. Most Wii owners seem content with Nintendo's own titles for the system and don't seem to care for most of the 360/PS3 library. This is also why I don't judge the Wii so harshly for missing some of the features I listed above that the other systems have.Finally, on to this specific Black Wii bundle. When I heard of this bundle's release, I sold my old Wii on eBay and purchased the black one here on Amazon. This bundle includes all of the things that the original Wii had except you now get Wii Sports AND Wii Sports Resort. I have yet to play Wii Sports Resort (been playing Super Smash Bros), but I've heard it builds upon the fun of the original Wii Sports. I was mainly excited for the new color. Everything else in my entertainment center is black, the HDTV, the PS3, my stereo and speakers, so that white Wii stood out like a sore thumb. Now it's in matching shiny black and fits in perfectly. This is a great bundle for only $199 and I highly recommend it to all gaming fans.

im brandon, im writing this from my mom's account! i jus have to say thank you so much ezcorp! you guys are truly amazing for having offered this product and at such a low cost! i received it perfectly. no scratches or dents to my eyesight...wiimote and nunchuck works great, wii console works great...played mario kart and new super mario bros for 6hrs straight, no power breaks...NO OVERHEATING :D i attached a usb fan to it so that's really why, but during the first 4hrs without the usb fan it was hardly even warm...i set up youtube, netflix, internet channel on the console and works flawlessly. ran an update for the system, passed smoothly. wii shop channel required me to do so. the sensor bar works great, the power cord and av cord also works great....no problems. i absolutely love this product. would definitely recommend this to my friends and anyone wanting to get a wii :D Thank you ezcorp...now i gotta buy me blackops and nfs the run XD

Aside from the lengthy downloads and updates...Nintendo must have initiated production on the units prior to finalizing code and OS items...past that. Black Ops 2 is a blast for the senses...sights and sounds...when you throw your fist grenade and see it blow up a car....awesome. The graphics are amazing...when you use ADS, the focus is in front of you and your peripheral gets fuzzy...just like in real life. Being able to use the wii-mote and nun chuck as my primary hand controllers and setting up the game pad to be an additional larger map in front of me....lots to process, fast paced gun games, new weapons...suggest you get it now or you will be Christmas blood for all of us who already have it.Head up...the headbanger headphone/mic doesn't work on this...just ordered the turtle beach headset from amazon and looking forward to chatting with the clan...we will see most of you on Christmas day...think you will really enjoy the Wii U with Blops 2

I purchased this because I was using the stock RCA type video hookup that came with the Wii and connecting to a 720p HD TV. The picture was terribly blurry and subtitles were illegible. I immediately noticed the improvement after using this product. I can actually play a video from more than 2' away without leasing the hubble telescope to clear things up. Great product. Timely delivery. Good quality. A chep fix for this problem that I'm sure more people have experienced. Happy Shopping

If you get pass the weird name the "Wii" can be really a lot of fun. When it first came out in 2006, the Wii was very popular and with the demand of many gamers, the Wii was hard to find. After wishing for the Wii in Christmas of 06, my family finally found one at the local Wal-Mart.
The Wii was my to begin with but my brother couldn't resist playing it. Soon friends started coming over to the house to play Super Paper Mario, Cooking Mama: Cook Off, and Excite Truck. The Wii was the coolest thing in the world then, but later became easier to stock up on shelves. Now in 2010, the Wii can be found basically at every video game retail store. But that doesn't mean it still isn't as fun as in 2006.
The first thing about the Wii is that it is family friendly. If you want to buy a gaming system for the whole family to enjoy my first reaction would be to say "the Wii". But still the Wii might not be for every family because sometimes "a non-motion" controller is the best. The Wii is user friendly with games like the Wii Sports series that has simple controls like to swing a tennis ratchet or to roll a bowling ball.
The Wii has many functions that I probably can't all write about. But first the Wii can be hooked up to the internet. My Wii came with a wireless card and works pretty well but now I have it wired. The internet is now a big requirement in gaming, but I haven't experienced a lot with the "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection". My first experience with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection was with Mario Kart Wii with Wii Wheel. The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection works great and playing games with people around the world makes a rain day with video games a lot more rewarding and fun.
With internet connection, the Wii can do a lot of other things like buying games with Nintendo 2000 Points Card (DSi or Wii), checking the weather, and more. When having a Wii, I highly recommend hooking it up to the internet. You can experience more with the Wii.
The Wii's motion controller is very accurate for it capabilities. I have not had many problems with the remotes except for one case but I thing the reason for it was because of a game. I still have my very first Wii remote that came with my Wii and works perfectly fine and the only sigh of age is the dust and dirt that has collected. Wii remotes are surprisingly expensive charging usually $40-$50 per remote. But the Wii remote has an add on that makes the Wii remote more "sensitive' to you motions. Wii MotionPlus is an attachment to the Wii remote that can be attached to the base of the remote, where the Nunchuck attaches. The Wii Remote Plus - White is now out which has Wii Motion Plus built in.
The Nunchuck is quite strange looking but is comfortable when used to it. This part of the controller is used with games that are compatible.
The Wii does have a wide selection of games but the Wii doesn't stand out with realistic graphics like the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 have. That doesn't mean that you can't enjoy the graphics on the Wii, games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii don't need realistic but excel in colorful artistic graphic that leave me entertained.

I went through the trouble of returning a wii I got for Christmas because It was not backward compatible. And... It cost only 120$, then I come here and see the wii I want and it did indeed say backward compatible at the time, and was 160$. So I figured it was the right wii I wanted because it was more expensive then the ones sold at stores. So my order came and what do you know It's a wii that isn't compatible! I don't know why anybody would want to buy the same wii at stores that is 120$ for 160$ on the internet, and now I look at my product I ordered on this site and backward compatibility is not listed? I don't know who to blame at this point but I'm very disappointed to say the least, having to wait 2 extra days then expected, only to get the wrong product.

My five- and seven-year-old boys love this game. It has plenty of levels to keep them busy for a long, long time. They love the "movie shorts" of Lego characters laying the foundation for the next level that they're about to play. They also have the original Lego Batman game, the Lego Star Wars game, and I think one other. They love them all.

I love the thought concept of the Wii console. Unlike PS3 and X360, the Wii was more so targeting to family friendly and group games. The Wii has a tons of games for the casual game audience and those who love social gaming, but it's also hard to find a game that's hard-core and solo because of it.
I love casual gaming, but there are also times where I want to kick some butt. Finding games that suit my need to blow up or smash some enemies is hard in Wii. They have few games that suit the hard-core gamers. (And Mario just don't cut it) The Wii doesn't cater to my RPG lover needs enough, forcing me back to my old PS2 for some action.
Another draw back is the fact that I need batteries for my consoles, which had to be the stupidest thing for the developers of Wii to do. Ever extra equipment I get for Wii needs a battery and I hate it.
Another draw back is the fact that I can't watch movies on my Wii. This is a huge drawback and just ridiculous. I like my Wii and I always wanted one. I was prepared for the lack of hard-core games they produced, but the fact that I can't watch movies, or would have to repeatedly by batteries for my controllers sucks.

The cord made my Wii look much better especially on Legend of Zelda the Skyward Sword. I have not tried out too many other games but I would imagine they too look much more crisp.

I got this one "Like New" for $50 on Amazon Warehouse Deals. Had free 2-day air shipping. Arrived fast from amazon.
It came in the original box with everything in it, Wii Sports game included, and looked pretty much untouched. I can also play my old Gamecube games which is great.

I bought this used. We went away for a week and there were thunderstorms. When we got back home, the product had no power. After reading about the problem online, I found out it was the power cord that was the problem. I bought 2 power cords from Amazon and now it works perfect again!

It is Boxing Day morning and have just spent 3 hours setting up the system, downloading the new software update only to find out that the package doesn't contain the necessary components to actually play wii games........ In the words of my 7 year old "who sells a game system that doesn't let you play the games". If you are wanting to actually play the games you need a remote which I refuse to return to the store to buy after spending hundreds of dollars on the system.....Also don't waste time calling the technical support line - There message says we are too busy to serve you....Someone needs to help Nintendo with there too market strategy.. I am going to get the kids stuff for my ps3 and never buying a nintendo product again. The complete absence of thought to the customer experience is startling.

Did exactly as stated. Checked other people/companies that were selling the same thing and this one had the most positive reviews. I decided to go with this one and was pleasantly surprised. You never know what you will get, so i was happy with this. It connected the way it should to both the wii and the 55" LG LCD television. Colors perfect, NO interference or lines through the picture. So for the very little money it cost it is no question it was a good deal. FYI, i used the change i throw in my car and dresser to get this. After every week i have roughly 20 dollars in change which I throw in coinstar and choose an amazon e-gift card with NO FEE! So it really feels like this was free, lol.

I bought two of these back in April of 2012; it's now January 2013 and both have failed. My kids rarely use the nunchuk and I am present while they are in use. I believe these failed several months ago because I noticed they had only been using our white nunchuk and only one of them playing at a time (the Lego adventure series games). The white nunchuk is genuine Nintendo and the difference is notable. The joystick has a lot of play in it where the genuine nunchuk has none. The joystick is unresponsive in both of the controllers I purchased from this seller- very disappointing. I DO NOT recommend this product.My kids don't abuse their Wii or accessories and the genuine nunchuk has had no issues so I believe this to be a result of a poor quality (read: FRAUDULENT) product.

This isn't too bad overall for the price but could be a little less repetitious meaning they could have added a bit more to the games to give them a bit more longevity. My kids are younger so they don't mind playing the same things over and over again. They love the Mii game on here the most. It would be a great product if there were more shooting levels and you could switch up some of the other games. It was only $10 though so not enough to complain about it!

These cables to the trick. My dog had eaten the original component cables and instead opted out to buy these instead. They do a great job and the picture does look a bit sharper

I got a Wii a few years ago and I have never really had any interest in playing games. I have played MarioKart and it was fun but none of the games have really fulfilled my game-playing needs. The games are also really expensive. I mainly use the Wii Console for watching Netflix and Hulu. Overall, it has been entertaining at parties and with friends, but I would not pursue buying the console again...

Picture definitely looks better with these! Fits the Wii exactly and seems to be pretty high quality. Definitely recommend them if you want to hook a Wii or Wii U to component input.
