Likes: The new controller, the interface (menu, wii creator, etc), Netflix, exclusive Nintendo IPs (Mario, Nintendoland,etc)Dislikes: lack of support for Dolby and DTS, SD cards can not be used as system storage (so essentially a useless slot), so-so resolution on game controller screen.The Wii U has a super innovative controller; not a lot of games out at the moment to take advantage of it but a lot of potential applications as demonstrated in Nintendoland. Not sure yet if developers will take full advantage of this new technology, I hope so.I find it a bit suspect that the basic (and delux) pack does not come with a Wii motion controller nor nunchuck. These are still required in many games, especially THE starter flagship game Nintendoland.What concerns me most is Nintendo yet again chose to stay well behind the processor power curve. This game, from what I've read and the few games I've played, has current gen graphics. Sony and Microsoft will be releasing next gen console within the year. May not seem like a big deal now but in 3-4 years the PS and Xbox games, should, look much better than anything the Wii U will be capable of doing.I know it's a "1st world problem" but if the Wii U was next gen then I would say this could be the one console to last you for a decade.

Kids are 9 and 6. Was very easy to install and connect to the internet. the 9 y.o. can handle loading, setting up and resuming a game no problem. These seems like the right variety of games for their age level. Just limit their daily use on it....;-)

Bought as second controller, has lag when racing head on with factory controller. Works most of time, just very noticeably not as nice. If you can swing it get the OE.

There are children's toys that are so good, they remain popular forever. The Big Wheel, Barbie, Rubix Cube, The Whiffle Ball. Nintendo Wii is one of these toys. It's the best video game ever made for kids.
No violence.
Easy to play.
Great colorful graphics.
Remotes that you have to swing and jump around with, getting a bit of exercise on winter days.
No the people don't look real, but the genius of the Wii programmers is that they don't attempt to. On other video units like Xbox or Playstation, those attempts just create creepy looking dummies. Wii knows it's just a game for kids and like Twister, has fun with the kitsch.
I don't like video games and would rather everyone be outside. But in January or pouring rain, when the homework is done and the books are read, I feel ok with breaking out some wii. We all jump around and actually can work up a bit of a sweat - as opposed to sitting on the floor with control pads. Also some of the Mario games have so many levels, it could take years to get to them all. The creativity of the designers is incredible.
It has wifi where you can play people online with certain games, but there's no interaction between the players which I like. It's simply playing them. I lose almost every time.
You can also watch netflix on it and some other apps can be downloaded, but they are mostly just useless fluff. This is pretty much just a gaming console - but it's the best one ever made for kids. Hopefully kids will be playing it for 50 years.

Every time I go behind the tv, strange things happen and I somehow confuse the red component cable with the red audio cable and I'll get a black and white picture, messed up sound, or some other kind of weird a/v artifact (I think this is the reason for some of the negative reviews, I mean, it's really just bits of copper wire with a proprietary connector, it's pretty hard to mess up although mistakes do happen but I digress.)
Aside from PEBKAC, the cables do what the need to do and they do it well. The increase the resolution and remove the fuzzy grossness you get with the standard cables. All of the RCA jacks fit snugly into the tv, as did the other end into the Wii. If you have a Wii and a 720p tv/monitor/display device (or higher resolution), you need component cables with your Wii.

My 8 year old is really enjoying this. Not too difficult for him to figure out but there is plenty of challenge and he likes to go back and replay earlier scenes to get more experience when he is stuck later on.

i love this game, my son and i have fun discovering new characters and playing with therm over and over, love the way it lets you play in any way and use any charger to get through level;s, wish we had more DC characters to play with and we had more things to do but it is a good game for anyone who is a fan of DC comics

I ordered this for my son, it's something that he wanted so much!! He LOVES it and plays it everyday!! The cost for this game on Amazon is so much cheaper than any retail store. I will be ordering more!!

If you bought your Wii console, from the UK, dont bother buying. Your console wont read the dvd. Was not able to use mine and cant ship back for a refund all the way frm Nigeria. Bad market !
They should standardise their games so that all consoles can play it. Very disappointing,my son had high hopes!

Did not get the silicone sleeve that was noted in the description. Not a big fan of the quality of these controllers either. But you get what you pay for.

Nintendo Wii Blue Console I am Happy I Got This I Can Now Play My WII Games Again & OFF Topic: My Brother Has The Old White WII It Just Plays Gamecube Games & it Use Too Play WII Games Now it Can't Read Those WII 1's & So Anyway The Nintendo Wii Blue Console is Awesome Great & Blue is My Favorite Color & White's Boring it Gets Dirty Easily. I am Gald People Still Sell This Online Since No Retail Stores Sell Nintendo Wii Blue Console Anymore & I Highly Recommend it & I Think I'll Have Someone Upgrade My WII Someday So I can Put Gamecube Ports & Play Gamecube Games on it.

I just got my Wii U a couple days ago and have spent most of that time playing demos, but I love it. Yes, the initial firmware update is tedious but after that it's smooth sailing. The system is easy to navigate and learn, the gamepad is also easy to figure out, and adds a nice element. I know some people have said that it's too big, or a gimmick, or what-have-you, but I don't see it this way. For example, I have never played FIFA before but I am addicted to it right now. It is far more enjoyable than just thumbing a couple of toggle sticks around, and I find the gamepad to be rather comfortable as well.Overall, I really don't have any complaints aside from limited quality software thus far. However, that's not going to last forever, and the games that are out there look and feel great. Oh, the load times can be a little slow (speed update coming soon), but I think the only reason to complain about that is if you're one of those spoiled "I want it and I want it NOW!" types. For me, however, not an issue. I suppose growing up in the era of NES, floppy disks, and dial-up taught me some humility. That being said, if you thought you wanted it but just weren't sure, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Was very excited to upgrade my Wii's video, and enjoyed this cable for a couple days until the Wii shut off suddenly and there was a burning smell coming from the fan in the back of the console. Thankfully my Wii worked fine after connecting the original A/V cable.

Great system and price! Haven't had any problems with it at all. I'm a fan of the Wii. Its a game system where u can get up and move instead of slouching on the couch . great exercise.

Our old Wii broke quit working just after my son's birthday. Not wanting to buy a brand new one, I thought I would try this used one. Knowing how good Amazon is about returns gave me the courage to order it. It came with everything it said it would and it has been working great. Very happy!

Works exactly like I'd imagine. You need this cable to crisp the text on screen as well as minor improvements to the games. If you really want HD, then get a Wii U to upscale to 1080p through HDMI, otherwise this is the best you got. Also, a receiver can usually upscale and its better if coming through component then composite cables. Overall good deal.

what can I say, it's batman. the levels are fun and challenging and makes the kids have to think and work to solve problems. just like the other lego games you get pretty much endless lives which makes it easier on the kids too. will post an update if anything changes.

Why does Nintendo keep doing this?! They put out a good system, not a great system like they should. I enjoy playing the Wii U but I have a few issues. First of all where's Mario Galaxy U or Zelda U? Why make us wait an entire year for a Mario or Zelda game to come out? Second, what's up with the giant controller? I don't like it! I don't like having to refer to the screen all the time. I got really pissed playing some of the games on it. Third, Nintendo has a great opportunity here's with this console. A lot of people are getting tired of the kind of games that have been coming out on the PlayStation and xbox. They area getting more and more repetitive. Nintendo can really make some ground up by putting some fresh games out. A Metroid, Zelda, Mario, Yoshi or a Donkey Kong game would really sell Wii U's. Why didn't they have one ready for release?! I don't understand it. The only game that's been released that I liked was Zombie U. It was fresh and different. By the time a Mario or Zelda game comes out not many people will care because the PS4 and Xbox 720 will be getting all the press. Nintendo really missed an opportunity I think.P.S.- This is just my opinion. Please don't post something negative about one persons opinion. Thanks!

First the good news. The nunchuk was salvageable. The bad news is the WII sensor bar is not finding the remote. All other remotes work fine. It certainly could be user error.
