Due to how the Wii works, you must play this with the numchucks. That can be difficult for smaller children. Would not recommend this if you have an Xbox.

Works perfectly, liked that the wires weren't too thick and seem pretty flexible. I had an issue getting the wii to output the 480 component output initially, but a quick google search and I was able to figure it out.

I would say it's too early to truly rate the Wii U's capabilities, mostly since a lot of things aren't working yet, but I do want to pass down the setup time that it takes.Like a knucklehead I didn't think about needing to charge the controller initially....two and half hours later. I then agree to setup the internet functions which appears to lock up the screen, but still "thinking". So before I do anything, I google it, to find out that it takes over two hours(three for me) to download the firmware patch and that if you stop it, you possibly brick your new toy. I of course started the patch at 11:00 at night and stayed up till 2:00am to make sure I didn't "ruin" my new gaming console. Lastly, because the patch takes a long time to download, my controller ran out of "juice" and I couldn't even use it to set up the rest of the system after the patch. I was dead tired anyways, but robbed of the little glimpse of my reward for waiting that long into the night since I'm pretty sure you can only do the initial setup with the pad before you can add other controllers. (Not postitive on that last statement)So far I would say it's okay, nothing truly earth shattering, but still the same old fun! I am excited to see what game publishers use the pad for, there is huge potential for multiplayer gaming.The other plus I would say is that most of your old wii stuff will work with the new system...eventually for a few things. Overall, if you want to be playing next generation Nintendo games, here it is.If this is a gift for the holidays...plan on having some impatient kids on Christmas morning:)

So i bought these thinking that they were going to work well. However when i got it, the controllers took over 3 hours a trying to sync to work. And when they work, they only work for a bit. Then one of them will die, leaving just one to work. These controllers can't be use as third or fourth players! They need to be first or second player only, and should be the first one you SYNC to the Wii. I would not recommend buying these controllers. Unless you want to sit around waiting for it to SYNC!

Got this as an christmas present for my boyfriend and we are loving it so far. May be an "old" console, but if you're looking for a nostalgia trip and some stress free gaming, this is a must buy.

This was for my grandson. I think he's already got it for his DS, but he said the game for the Wii has a lot more stuff to play and different things to do. Great graphics and lots of action.

The Wii Hardware Bundle comes with two discs loaded with fun games and a just about everything you're going to need. It is a sleek console, with a nice, reflective gloss. The Wii is compact and quieter than my bulky but powerful PS3. There are tons of things to do besides play games, like check your local weather, but the best feature of all is the out-of-this-world technology of the motion-control! It really is something to try out for yourself.Rather than the gimmicky Playstation motion or the Xbox kinetics that are after-thoughts, the Wii was made with the idea of swinging your controller around and mimicking real actions on the screen. The effects are surprising and enthralling! It is a good idea to buy an extra Wii Remote Plus - Black and also Wii Nunchuk Controller - Black. Games like Donkey Kong Country Returns and Super Mario Galaxy 2 will need it.I mentioned that the Wii comes with most of what you need. Something else you may need to buy is Nintendo Wii 480p Component Video and Stereo Audio Gold-Plated Cable because it comes with AV cables. If you own a wide screen TV it will look much better. Besides this, the extra remote plus and Wii nunchuk controller as already written above. Besides these things you will need to set up your internet if desired. The Wii is surprisingly Wifi! The Wii has many blocks on your welcome screen that are filled with tutorial videos that need to be watched and then deleted, to free up memory, because the Wii does not come with alot. To surf the internet you need to download its program into a block taking up roughly a quarter of your memory blocks. If you plan on purchasing and downloading retro Nintendo games like Super Mario Bros. 3 you will need to download another program into a block, and you will need to buy some external memory cardsSanDisk Wii 2GB Secure Digital SD Gaming Memory Card - Bulk Packaging which are pretty cheap!The Wii is Gamecube compatible also! You can plug in 4 Gamecube controllers and start playing classic games like Super Mario Sunshine that perhaps you never enjoyed before! When I was younger, I didn't have the gamecube, our family went with the PS2, so I missed out on alot of great games. It will be great to explore the many great games on that system! The Wii plays DVD games but does not play DVD movies. If you would like to watch movies you can download for free Netflix and watch streaming movies. I have Netflix on my PS3, because it is in HD and in surround sound, which the Wii does not support.I wanted a Wii badly because I am a retro gamer who doesn't really like online games. I really didn't have games to play with my family on the PS3! I wanted to play Mario Kart Wii with Wii Wheel where everyone in the room can have fun and interact. They create memories that last forever and help keep a happy home. You will not be locked up in a dark room untill 3am playing online games and getting so mad you curse to yourself! The Wii really is about sharing experiences with people you know. There really isn't anything out there that will get my Dad, and grandparents, and the young side of my family together to play games they all enjoy! It is great for kids also! You can keep track of how long your kids play games because the Wii sends you email reports of how many hours their "Mii's" or game personalities, they played for and what games in particular. It gives you details that you as a parent may need such as the time and date, and what they liked playing most. You have the option of parental control also.The Wii has countless games and is the centerpiece of entertainment for a family house or retro gamer. It is neat and compact, so it can fit in even the most over-stuffed entertainment center! It can stand up or lay down right out of the box unlike PS3 and other systems. The Wii is the best console I have played since N64! And as I play more and more games I have no doubt that I will grow to appreciate it more and more. It was the perfect holiday present!

The Wii remote would not connect to our console - the 4 lights at the bottom flashed, but then the remote shut off. Tried several times but no luck. Returning product and going with the OEM remote.

This system is for new gamers, young children, or original Nintendo game fans. "Hardcore" gamers will stick to the 360 (my favorite) or the ps3 (second favorite) due to speed, graphics quality, and game selection.
If you want to do more physical action oriented games, or games to involve younger children, or games you can play during parties, the Wii is a great choice. These games are typically ore cartoon-centric and do not often have a deep story line to follow.
If you want incredible graphics with a mind blowing story line and in depth environments in virtually all games available for the system, I would go with one of the other systems I mentioned.
If you want to do more physical action oriented games, or games to involve younger children, or games you can play during parties, the Wii is a great choice. These games are typically ore cartoon-centric and do not often have a deep story line to follow.
If you want incredible graphics with a mind blowing story line and in depth environments in virtually all games available for the system, I would go with one of the other systems I mentioned.

My Issue:
I'll be honest, I loved my old Wii, I used to play Super Smash Bros Brawl using my Gamecube controllers and it was a lot of fun, until my brother had an accident and it stopped working. I ultimately decided to get a new Wii, but everywhere I looked I only found the NEW Wii consoles that aren't backwards-compatible with Gamecube controllers and accessories for some reason, which I didn't want because I have a lot of Gamecube games that I'd like to keep playing.
After a few hours of browsing, I FINALLY find a Wii that CLEARLY SAYS it has backwards compatibility (The one I ordered), HOWEVER it turns out it doesn't, so now I have to return it.
Why Amazon?
I don't even know why you haven't changed the "Product Description" section since it CLEARLY states that the product I ordered has backwards-compatibility with the Gamecube, nor do I care at this point. I just want my money back now, thanks for nothing Amazon.
