I really don't know if this is specific to our controller or Wii, but sometimes the controller gets into a state where it doesn't work very well and the only thing we can do is unplug/plug it in again. The game we were playing at the time we had a problem was "Scooby Doo and the Night of 100 Frights" (great game, btw!).Also, I was very annoyed that the cable is not that long. (Our TV/Wii is about 6 ft from our couch, which in my experience is closer than most I've seen.) We had to purchase an extension (from Amazon) after calling around to all the local game shops, none of which even stocked it.

Nintendo has always had a way with controllers that no other company has bested.The only quirk is that people with bigger hands (fingers) could have a problem handing this one.bought it together with 3 in 1 Magic Joy Box (PS2/PS/GC/XBOX to PC USB Adapter) and works wonders as a pc joystick, find this one (and an usb adapter) before it's too late!

[Ignore the "fun" rating, as this is not a game. Fun: N/A is not a choice.]This is exactly what it claims to be. Nintendo's first-party memory cards are expensive (considering their small capacity) but reliable and durable. I've never had any issues with their memory cards. Cheap third-party cards, on the other hand...In deciding whether to buy a 251-block memory card or a 1019-block memory card, consider how many Gamecube games you have (or will have in the future). Games always list the memory card blocks required (typically in to 10-50 range) on the back of their cases.And of course, a Gamecube memory card is necessary for saving game data when playing Gamecube cames on the Wii. Just as Wii controllers are not backwards-compatible, neither is the Wii's internal memory.

Works great so far. It keeps both of my kids happy since they can now play games together. The true test will be over time, however. We got two of these when we first got our gamecube, a few years ago. One still works but the other stopped working after about 6 months. I figured I'd give it one more try.

I bought this for my Nintendo Wii...I didn't want to spend a lot as I'm not sure how many Gamecube games I intended to invest in, but I'm pleased with the product based on the use I'll get out of it. It's definitely not the nicest controller one could get, but it works great with Nintendo Wii.

Why pay $35+ shipping to buy a new GC controller from these guys, when you can get a new one from nintendo or gamestop for $25+shipping?These guys are trying to rip us off!The controller itself is great btw, the best controller ever made IMO

If you don't yet have a Gamecube, this bundle is the perfect introduction to a superb gaming console. The Gamecube doesn't play DVDs or CDs, it just does what it does very very well, showcasing some of the best games you'll play on any system anywhere. Graphically, Gamecube games look great, play fast, and (in most cases) without the load times or lags that can so detract from the gaming experience. And the system is incredibly easy to work with and to hook up -- it literally takes a few minutes, tops.This special Zelda package makes the perfect introduction to the Gamecube platform because it includes one of the finest games I've ever played (Zelda: The Ocarina of Time), now seamlessly integrated into the Gamecube environment. I'd highly recommend this particular system purchase just for the classic Zelda games alone -- in addition to OOT and other classic Link games, Majora's Mask is almost as much fun, although it's got a different feel to it, and isn't quite as seamlessly adapted into the Gamecube platform (as a transfer from the earlier platform, the game's resolution is noticeably less sharp than other Gamecube games, but it's amazing how beautiful the game still is -- and how fast you get used to it).Other Zelda enthusiasts already know what I'm talking about -- these games manage to be smart, fun, adventurous, creative, exciting, and even humorous, all while maintaining a feeling of magic, wonder and innocence that is very very hard to capture in a game or to describe. That Ocarina of Time is able to do so is a small miracle in itself, and it does so in a rather dark and brooding fairytale environment that may surprise players who only know Zelda from the cheery cel animation of Windwaker (but I much prefer this 'classic' look myself, and was psyched to hear that Nintendo is returning to this look for the next Zelda title).In Ocarina of Time, a young boy must save the world (Hyrule), discover his own gifts, and literally and figuratively grow to manhood. The game plays with the entire concept of time, both in its puzzles and storyline, as well as in the Ocarina, the magical instrument Link uses as a powerful resource in the game. The world Link must explore and save is beautifully rendered -- from majestic mountains, to eerie lava dungeons and icebound caves, to genuinely creepy graveyards and wastelands. The dungeons and environments Link must explore are fastidiously rendered and very detailed (and are far more complex than those in Windwaker) -- by the end of the game you'll feel like you explored a place that actually exists.The characters Link meets are complex, funny, and brave, and Link's companion in his quests, the horse Epona, is a standout. The horse doesn't simply team up with Link, but must first be met, fed, tamed, raced, and won! Only after a series of challenging (but very do-able) tasks does Epona become Link's noble steed, and the experience of riding Epona over the fields of Hyrule, leaping fences and battling bad guys, is one of the most truly poignant gaming experiences I've ever had. (And yes I know that sentence makes me a huge geek. But I wear it proudly.)OOT does have some surprisingly scary and creepy elements (especially in the "later" and more grown-up time period of Link's play), but for young teens and up, it's easily a game for all ages, one that will enchant adults as easily as kids. As always with Zelda, gameplay is seamless and easy to get used to, and the game introduces the player to his or her controls so seamlessly that most will never need to read the manual. And also as usual, Link's battles are never just button-mashers, but instead offer a creative variety of swordplay and battle options.And these are just a few examples of how rich the Zelda universe is, and how much thought has gone into every puzzle and character of the game -- there are dozens more. After playing dozens of games for the Gamecube, Ocarina of Time is still a 10 for me -- by far the best game I've ever played to date. By the time you're done, Hyrule is more than a game environment, it's a fantastical universe, and one that feels as real as Middle-Earth, or Narnia, or Earthsea. Enjoy your visit there -- you won't forget it.

It came much quicker than I expected and I was gaming away with the standard of nintendo's purple wonder within seconds.I know where to come when the rubber falls off like all the others!

This is the best controller I've use for Gamecube, but that doesn't mean I like it. Gamecube has a good controller for 3D games, but when a digital pad is needed, it has a lot of shortcummings. It uses the Gameboy SP sigital pad which is far too small to be comfortable to an adult, or at least myself. I think it would be a good idea to buy this over a 3rd party controller as some of the ones I've seen were a nightmare.

I bought this for playing Gamecube titles on my Wii. Works perfectly, and fits my hands rather well despite its small size.My only complaint is that the d-pad (cross) is quite small. Nintendo should have made those at least a little larger. The d-pad is ok, but third party alternatives offer larger d-pads (and usually less responsive buttons).Still, this is the cheapest road to backwards compatibility for your Wii, and you need a corded controller if you want the rumble feature.

Make no mistake, this is the memory card for you if you've got a Gamecube (which I'm assuming you do, or you're planning on getting one soon).Anyway, there are 251 blocks on this baby, which may not seem like a lot, but it is. It gets the job done, and you don't have to worry about it corrupting data or anything. I've had mine for a while and nothing has happened to the files saved on there. It's also easy to save and delete information from this thing with the simple click of a button.Please, don't get that damn third party memory card from Madcatz, my experience with that is corrupted data, and constant reformating of the card (which erases your files anyway). Only go with Nintendo, they're the only ones who know the divine nature of their memory card.I must say, though, this is for the casual gamer. Someone who doesn't have every game they can possibly get a hold of. Some EA games, for exammple, take up over one-hundred blocks of memory. Basically, what I'm saying is simple: If you're one who has a ton of games, you may find yourself buying more than one of these memory cards before you know it. Not every game has a save for just the game. Resident Evil, for example, saves on a different block every time. Just like a playstation memory card. If you're like me, however, you probably don't have THAT many games that it's a bother.The other thing I must caution is simple: This thing, like every other memory card, is small as hell. This one even more so. If you can, keep it plugged in your Gamecube at all times.The great thing about memory cards, just about everyone of them, is simple: You can take them anywhere. Does your same friend also own Super Mario Sunshine? Hey, that's great, now you can leave your copy of the game at home and take your memory card. It lightens the load.It's essential to have a memory card if you buy a Gamecube, and this is a good one. If, however, you happen to be someone who has a TON of games, this won't hold you over long enough, and you'll have to buy another.No Gamecube owner should be without a memory card, though.

We've had to buy a few controllers b/c some seem to have a short life span. I guess for $20.00 bucks, you get what you pay for. This is a back controller that works great for as long as the controller lives. We've had some that have conked out quickly and some that have lasted quite awhile. I guess it's hit or miss.

Most of the newer systems I play have the most difficult, congested controllers. Nintendo has never bought into that. A casual gamer needs a controller where the buttons are managable. In the same vein as the Nintendo 64 controller (my all-time favorite), the gamecube controller fits in my hands great and is easy to get used to.

This controller is the second best of the three systems (PS2 being the best!). At first I thought it would suck because of the looks. I was wrong. Once I started playing with it at a friends house, I found it to be very fun. It's so simple to use, but at the same time comfortable. I always look for that in a controller because I usually play videogames for hours and by some controllers my hands get soar. Well, not with this one!Alltogether, there are 13 buttons, along with the 2 analog sticks. It has a perfect size for anyone with big or small hands and it is very unfragile.Well, there's not much else to say, except if you want a gamecube, but aren't sure because of the controller, then buy one. And buy three of these controllers (any color) so all your friends can enjoy the multiplayer games with these cheap, easy-to-use and must-have controllers.

I saw some good reviews of this product and went out and bought it. Yes, it is amazing. It is hooked up to a HDTV using the component video cables, and the sound is hooked up to the amplifier. The video is clear and sharp, and audio is nice and can be as loud as i want.the control becomes the analog stick and it takes a little bit of time to get used to. But now, I can play the game and view it from 10 feet away rather than 1 foot away, and i don't have to drop my head like when i play the GameBoy Advance. And the stereo is blasting me away too.

These memory cards are great! They have just the right amount of memory for me (a casual gamer). I like them because they store all of my files. In my Memory Card 251, I have about 100 files, and they all work perfectly. I have never had any problems with it in the past, and hope I never will. Since I only play Gamecube when I get tired of Xbox, I never save many games. It is my brother who uses up a majority of the space on this Memory Card. I recommend this Memory Card to anyone who doesn't have any games that take up more than sixty blocks. The price is a bit much, considering that this is a Gamecube acessory. I think that the size is a bit too small. I often lose this Memory Card in my vast amount of games, but then again, it is black, so you can find it without much trouble. Overall, this is the best Memory Card for the Gamecube.Note: If this Memory Card doesn't have enough memory, do not get any other off-brand Memory Card. Get a larger one of the Nintendo brand.

I really don't think you can blame the controller because you were careless with it and left it somewhere the dog could chew it up. That's your fault, not the controller's, and it's not fair to give a controller 1 star because of something stupid that you or your dog did. (Wow, this is a good demonstration of why kids need to be supervised online. You're supposed to be over the age of 13 to write a review.)

good and comfortable controller (better than the N64 ones were). It works much better than a 3rd party controller, such as madcatz. If you plan to, or have played "super smash brothers melee"(great game) you will notice how much easier it is to pull-off moves with a nintendo brand controller. It is worth the extra money, no-matter what it says on the third party company's package (dont be fooled by a third party controllers extra button: the "M" button, it does nothing because a nintendo brand controller doesnt have one and developers design games according to nintendo brand controllers). I never use my cheap madcatz controller (madcatz controller often malfunctions as well), this one is much better, and black goes with everything. My rule of thumb: Nintendo brand game accessories are more reliable, longer lasting, eye appealing and overall better than third party distributers. *please vote yes if I helped*

First off I want to say that I did not buy another controller for my GameCube yet, but bought the platinum edition system and it came with one controller. My first color pick for the GameCube was this, and that would be followed by Black and then blue, anyway I am here to review the GameCube controller in general.It is nice and compact, and very comfotable to hold and play. The L and R buttons are a nice place to rest your fingers on when playing, I love everything about the controller. I admit the X Y and the kydney shaped ones are hard to get straight but they arent like the PS2's and Xboxes with all those shapes! Definetely get a gamecube! The controllers rock!

I've pretty much been partial to the Playstation controllers since I got my PS1 back in 1997. When I saw the Nintendo 64 controller, I nearly puked. The joystick in the middle didn't make any sense to me. I looked at the GameCube controller, and wasn't exactly impressed. It looked kinda goofy-asymmetric, maybe.Well, when I finally picked one up, I found that it fit my hands much better than the PS models. This would be my favorite controller if Nintendo changed a few things.1. The Z button is too hard for me to reach.2. The C joystick and the D pad are in awkward positions.Fortunately most games don't really force you to use these much, but if you're going to put buttons on a controller, make them all easily accessible. Due to these flaws, I can't really say it's better than the PlayStation's design. They're probalby tied.

The other reviewer seems to think that an item review is the place to rant. I have no idea what he is talking about. I have ordered dozens of items from Amazon and have never had any problems. My orders have always arrived before the expected delivery date.As for the controller, there is no difference between the platinum, black, purple, and orange controllers. I have three GC controllers and they have all stood the test of time. If you don't mind the lack of a rumble feature, the Wavebird wireless controller is the better way to go. I do like the rumble feature so I stick with the corded ones.
