this camera really surprised me, I wanted to find a camera that could be versatile and able to capture what I want, this camera is great I have just a few small eh days with her and tested with high ISO and surprised me ah, the quality is very good. memory is recommended to purchase not less than 90mb transfer, and in this way does not look to miss the smallest detail

I grew up with Zenith 12xp (still have it :), few years back I shot Nikon N70 panorama, recently I decided to go back to the hobby and purchased D7000 + 35mm/f1.8. I loved the feel and functionality of the D7000 and as soon as I have learned about D7100, I pre-ordered it on Amazon + 50mm/f1.8 + 85mm/f1.8. I am not a professional or even a good amateur but I have noticed immediately problems with autofocus. In low light conditions, straight out of the box in full auto mode, camera would "hunt" constatly to focus with my new 1.8G prime lenses. In good light conditions camera would "freeze" after 1st shot and hesistate before 2nd shutter accentuation (focus on the same stationary object). In addition, autofocus was very loud. I have never experienced this problems with D7000/ never had to fine tuned it. Overall, D7100 feels great in the hands and quality of the pictures is astonishing. Portrait pictures of my German shepherd taken with D7100 + 85mm/f1.8 are superb. I am hoping, I have received bad copy and awaiting for the replacement from Amazon.

LOTS OF PIXELS!!!1 It's a great camera. I would recommend buying it and a large and fast SD card. The resulting raws are between 10 and 40ish MB each.

I've used a D80 for the past few years, so this D7100 was easy to catch onto. What I particularly appreciate is the D7100's dramatically better low light performance. I use it primarily to capture indoor sporting action and the D7100 enables me to get much clearer shots.

The previews and reviews I read before making this purchase suggested it had new features rather than "tweaking". The standard lens 18-105 mm is a basic but acceptable lens but perhaps doesn't make the most of the D7100's capabilities. It has a solid feel to it, and because of its construction is heavier than my previous Nikons.There are so many new features that only time will tell, and with experimentation I'm sure will provide some excellent results.Certainly seems to be at the upper end of Nikon's "value for $$$" and fits into the enthusiastic amateur range very well. My previous NIkon experience lead me to buy this one, and I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

Just received my Nikon D7100, haven't played with it much but what I've seen, I like. This is my third Nikon DSLR and I've been happy with them so far. There's so much about this camera that I won't go into that here, you can find reviews everywhere on the internet. The one thing I will mention that seems to not get talked about is the in camera leveler, both in the viewfinder and on the live view screen, great feature.

I have the D5100, and used for over a year, it has taken great pictures. During that time frame it had the same problem twice and both times I had to ship out for repair. It was hard to function with a camera, so I purchase a second camera the D7100. I purchase the body only because I already had several lens and they all worked great with the D7100. I find myself using it for 90 precent of the pictures I have take today. I still have a lot to learn about this camera, I fill I am still a beginner in photography, but with the D7100 I fill I can achive the next level sooner that later. The D7100 is very quit, on my first use of the camera I thought it was broken, but when I looked to see if any pictures had been taken and everyone taken was there. Although the camera is a little heavy, I like the fill of it.

Just an excelent camera. We love it. No complaints whatsoever. It is user friendly and one can learn quickly to use it, but do not get frustrated if sometimes you loose the shot because the camera would not fire! It does happen sometimes with some settings being wrongly selected.

What can I say, it's fabulous. I am a beginner and this is my first DSLR. I have a lot to learn, but I am already enjoying this camera. And by looking at my brothers photos (he has this as well), I know what it is capable of. Great camera!!!

Camera gives great images but I have some personal issues with the camera. One, the body would be more comfortable if it were a little taller so that my ;pinkie wouldn't be hanging below the camera body. Focusing drives me nuts in that if you have an object in the view finder to the side but closer to the camera it will focus to the side and miss the central part of the image. This may be an operator issue but I will do more reading to make sure as it is very frustrating. The other issue is chip related so it can't be fixed with the current technology on DX chips and that is that the noise levels above 3200 ISO is quite bad.Still a great camera.

Within the first few uses, we had number of issues with this camera. We had a few card write errors where the camera locked up. We had another error where it wouldn't let us download past 300 of 1000 images on the card. We are waiting for firmware updates to fix these issues. We feel that overall the performance of the camera namely with focusing is better than the D7000 - we had a lot of issues with that camera with backfocusing. The D7100 can take some really crisp images and we have been happy other than with the card writing issues.

I have been very impressed with this camera so far. The picture quality is great, and the thing has a lot of options for tweaking the pictures in the camera itself. There are plenty of pre-set shooting styles to choose from if you just need to take pictures quickly without too much thought into shutter speed or aperture. The camera has a lot of options to tinker with, so you can take full control of the camera and get very creative.

I have a D7000 that I had (and still do as a backup body). I bought the D7100 as an upgrade. I use a 35mm lens for mostly everything as I am shooting high quality JPEG on card one and RAW on card two. So, at 24 megapixels, I just crop to the area I wanted in the photo. I also use a 18-200mm but am thinking of getting a 18-300mm.So, with that said, I get fantastic shots. I like to shoot in aperture/shutter priority or manual and this camera is great for that. For the price though, if you are going to shoot in automatic? Get a point and shoot. Just as good photos, lighter and better zoom capabilities.

First impressions after a couple hundred shots are "WOW!!" It feels great in your hands and takes very impressive photos on full-auto mode and "Program" mode with only a few basic adjustments (white balance, ISO, shutter/aperture). (I made the switch from a long-time Canon user to Nikon with this camera, so there is definitely an adjustment and relearning period I'll have to go through before I can post on the more sophisticated features.)It's a larger body than most APS-C cameras, and I like that about it since it is easier to hold without the added cost and weight of the full-frame bodies and lenses. (I do lots of tourism, walking, and hiking with my cameras, so being comfortable to carry for long periods is a big consideration.)I'll update this review with more details after I've had time to properly learn to use it and have taken it on my hike of the Inca Trail to Macchu Pichu in a few weeks...

I chose the highest level because it takes the highest quality photos I've ever taken. It is significantly sharper than the D5100 I used before! I am very pleased with the upgrades, too. I haven't used the wireless option, but am going on a cross-country trip and plan on it. Also, lots of options from scene selection to effects! You don't have to be a professional to take professional photos!

I am an intermediate, and own a few dx lenses that I did not want to part with. So I was confused between this and D5200. I realize now that there should not be even a question. You can quickly change the settings without accessing the menu, the pictures are sharp and above all it is weather sealed. It definitely leveled up my photography as I could quickly experiment with various settings.I was worried about the not having the swivel screen, but honestly, I don't miss it at all.

I would consider myself a Enthusiast photographer aiming to be professional. This camera has the premium features of a Nikons Full frame DSLR's. Build quilt is superb, Sharpness is fantastic, Works great for night photography. I use this camera for mainly concerts and portraits and it has not let me down yet!

The features on this camera are so many I have just explore a very small section. But what I was looking for on the camera, I have obtained. I am able to capture the ball "frozen" as well as the player taking the pictures indoors with bad lighting.I went with the 18-105mm lense because I did not want the added weight and assume I could bring the pictures closer digitally since the images are large enough. However, now I wish I had purchased the 18-300 to be able to bring the subject closer while shooting Lax.Specially like the fast shooting and the control added as to how many will be snapped consecutively with the same focus... I also liked that the settings dial is "locked" so it can only be change when you intent to change it.

I have had this for a few days now and been pleasantly surprised at how well this does. I equate it to either the D300 or D300s for its abilities, although it does feel smaller/lighter.Pros relative to the D600 are its faster AF (not by much, but worthwhile) and the longer reach and greater DOF apparent, when shooting wide.Pros relative to the D7000 are its faster/more accurate AF, and the gentler sound of the shutter (I do prefer a quiet shutter). Other things of note are that the ISO is about a half stop better in most cases, but the bigger thing I see is the cleaner blue skies at lower ISO's. The addition of better weather sealing is not lost on me either. I have wanted a DX body with that for some time. Last notable thing that I appreciate is the locking buttons for the mode dials.Great cam for me.

This camera is the best bang for the buck. In my opinion, this is the best DX camera in the market today. Now with the new firmware out, this makes the camera for video even better. Has all the options I need for my disposal to take great pictures. It's fast enough for multiple exposures and great in low light. Has all the focusing options for different scenarios. I find this camera a delight and the best investment I had in a long time.

I use the the camera professionally to create training videos. The quality is amazing. I purchased a 50mm prime lens in conjunction with the camera. Together, the hardware exposes the weaknesses in my video editing abilities. The quality of the final product is better than necessary for an 800 location restaurant brand to post training videos on YouTube. I do not expect to need a better camera, ever.

Such crisp photographs. I went from the Nikon D80 to the D7100 and notice a HUGE difference in quality of my photos (especially with it's image processor and 24Megapixels). Plus great features like Active D-Lighting and High definition dynamic range. You can see both your clouds and your low light areas in the same picture. I've also noticed that is does a much better job with low-light photos, much lower "noise" than my D80. The D7100 also has 51 Auto-Focus points. I can action put the focus point where I actually want it to be. I also like that all my D80 lenses fit my D7100 body. I don't have to start over with lenses. I am very happy with my upgrade!

I bought this SLR to replace my D300. There is no comparison when it comes to resolution and low light capabilities: The D7100 is 10 steps ahead. I used the camera on a recent trip to Central America with my 28-200, 70-200, and 105 macro. Many of the shots were taken in low light at higher ISO's in the coastal and central rain forests. The photos are phenomenal! The one negative is the small buffer size which limits the number of photos taken at a time to about 6-7 at high speed. This therefore would not be such a great camera for speed sports such as alpine ski racing, cycling, or motor sports.

There are betters cameras out there but not at this price point. This is the best Nikon DX for the price. To do better you would have to go into the professional bodies and spend way more. The auto focus on this camera works with the older Nikon lenses which is nice, my D3100 lacked this feature. Its well built and feels good in your hands so far no problems at all.

I bought the D7100, because from all of my research, it seemed to have the most bang for the buck. I was also looking to move up from my starter DSLR and broaden my amateur photographic horizons. Check out the numerous reviews on youtube, and you'll see that they really don't have anything negative to say.So far, all I can say is that I LOVE THIS CAMERA! The picture quality is amazing, and it's got plenty of professional level features.

Two issues with the camera: the buffer fills after 3 shots when shooting in RAW. Live view use does not allow the aperture to be changed.Other than these items the camera is fantastic. Fits my needs nicely as i like landscapes and scenery. If you are trying to capture sports action you won't like the buffer unless you shoot in JPEG only.Happy with this purchase.

This is a very nice pro-Sumer DX format body for those wishing to upgrade from older models. I have several older bodies and was waiting for the features to add up and the prices to drop enough to justify an upgrade. Considered going with an FX format (D600 / D800) but have too many DX lenses to justify leaving the smaller format. This replaces a D300 and a D80 (ok - a D2H also) and adds many features, such as two memory card slots and video! Now it's time to shop for more memory as big picture files require big storage. I added a 17-85mm f2.8 lens to get this camera off to a great start!

Purchased this camera when my wife was pregnant in anticipation for taking pictures of the baby. I'm not a professional by any stretch of the imagination, actually I'd put myself closer to a novice. Easy to use and understand, takes incredible pictures. Didn't realize I could take such great photos :)

I just got the camera yesterday from Amazon but after opening the box I could see that camera was damaged so I returned it immediately!I bought the same camera that afternoon at a local Best Buy.In the brief time I have had it I could tell the images are sharper and the auto focus is quicker. But that does not mean I am going to want to delete my Adobe Photoshop ha!

My last camera was a D80. I have tried D3100 and 5200. Good cameras, good images, but they do not feel like a real camera for people like me that has being shooting since manual film cameras.I love images 7100 produces and responsiveness and interface.Good options to adjust the camera to your own preferences, allowing fast access to main and common functions.The manual is good (read it!) and I also use the iphone version.Until now a just miss a easy way to interface with IPhone and sync info like GPS geo and time data.

The camera arrived missing its battery door. I shoot with Nikon cameras and have several of them, but Nikon has a serious problem with quality control. Returns and repair are regretably part of being a Nikon shooter.

Good buy. Pictures are great. Still need to learn a lot to use it. You can't go wrong with this camera. If you plan on using just auto, your better off getting the 5200 or 3100 because they take the same quality pictures back lack all the manual features of the expensive sibling.

I was looking to upgrade from my D70 and this is the perfect upgrade. I did need to get new memory cards but the lenses and flash that fit the D70 fir the D7100. It takes unbelievably crisp pictures...wonderful camera, easy to operate.
