Background:I currently have the Netgear MR814v2 router (802.11b), and got mixed results with my various notebooks. My HP workstation notebook (wireless a/b/g) and my Dell Latitude X1 (wireless b/g)...yes, the smallest one (rock-on!!!), both connect fine with it. However, my HP Pavilion (wireless b) can connect wirelessly if in the same room or the next, and still the connection is sketchy. I decided that the built-in wireless is not too good, so I bought the WG511 as well as the NETGEAR WGR614 router (802.11g) to upgrade. I decide to just try the WG511 card on the MR814 first.Setup:The results were not great at first, but that was because I had the router set to block the SSID broadcast. I was manually forcing the card to look for the router, but had problems with it the recognition (I'm not sure if the problem was on the router or card side). When I configured the router to broadcast the SSID, then everything worked fine and dandy. Overall time for setup was 3 seconds for ripping the plastic and opening the box, 3 minutes for install of the software and driver, 5 minutes for troubleshooting the router/card recognition issue, and 5 seconds afterwards to connect.Range:I have the router sitting in the basement, and I still get signal on the second floor bedroom at the opposite side of the house. That is approximately 200 feet away from the router, through 2 floors and about 4 walls away. Also, I am quite impressed with the range this card was able to extend for me. I had coverage in every room of my house, plus the basement, garage, and the sidewalk across the street! Mind you, I also enabled WEP, so only specific wireless devices (MINE) were able to access the router.Speed:I was able to maintain file transfers (from PC to PC in my network) at speeds near the 11Mbps rate everywhere in the house, so I was quite impressed. My cable broadband downloads only up to 6Mbps (average 2Mbps mostly), so this card is more than capable of web-surfing wireless-ly.Conclusion:This card is compatible with the NETGEAR MR814 802.11b router. If the setup with the MR814 router was this easy, and the connection (and speed) is fast, then I can't wait to setup and try the NETGEAR WGR614 router with this baby!Note:For the average user, this card is a great buy and works flawlesly with the NETGEAR MR814 router. Rembember that broadband ISPs transfer rate is only at about 1.5 to 3.0 Mbps for DSL, and about 3.0 to 6.0 Mbps for cable broadband (these are maximum speeds, not average speeds), so going for 802.11 b versus g is not going to make a big difference. The two big advantages of the g over b are 1) faster rates WITHIN YOUR NETWORK (transfering files from one computer to the next, or broadcasting music or video from computer to tv/receiver), and 2) increased security (added SPI firewall in addition to the NAT firewall available in most routers). Hope this review helps you.

I bought this card for an older Dell Inspiron 7000 running Win98 SE.If you buy this card, I recommend that you first go to the [...] website, click on the support tab, choose Downloads, highlight the WG511T Adapter and download the latest firmware driver revision, ver 3.9. When you unzip it, it has the driver file, the user guide and the install guide. Read the Install Guide before you do anything.Don't bother with the bundled CD-ROM. Install the downloaded driver from the setup file and reboot, as it requests. When I ran the driver setup, I got a general protection fault message. I cancelled it and the setup seemed to continue just fine. After reboot the driver database was set up in Windows. At that point, I turned the laptop completely off and then inserted the card.Upon bootup again, Windows found the card and loaded the proper drivers. It again directed a reboot. After that, the card was powered up and began searching for my network.Be sure that you know the proper settings for your router. If it's set not to broadcast your SSID, then you must tell the Netgear card the name of your network in the Netgear Smart Wizard that controls the card. Also, if you're using WPA-PSK security on your router, you have to select the Advanced Security portion of the card setup and manually type in your Shared Key.After I did that, The card immediately locked onto my network. I tried to open an internet connection, but it failed to do so after the "Detecting Proxy Settings" message had been displayed for awhile. I went into Internet Tools on the browser and reset all of the security settings to the defaults, closed the browser and reloaded it. It then found the internet connection and worked flawlessly.I recommend a lot of patience during this whole process. Many of these laptops are older machines with slow processors and operating systems and you have to be sure and wait during the install process. Watch your hard drive indicator light and be sure that everything has finished loading before clicking on the next step. Many reviews on this card have mentioned the confusing blinking lights. They're explained in the User's Manual. Some folks have also mentioned that the card runs hot. Mine seems warm, but not unusually hot.Durability has been questioned by some, but since I just installed mine a few minutes ago, I cannot address that. Hopefully, Netgear has addressed the issue. Thus far I'm extremely pleased with the card.

I am not a computer wizard, but I have understood that a lot of stuff don't seem to work with Windows XP. I got my card for $19 refurbished from TigerDirect, and have only good things to say about the product and the seller. It arrived in a timely fashion, and from the time I inserted the installation CD until I was online, using the card, it took 29 minutes. Maybe part of the trick is to follow the enclosed directions to a tee. Like I said I'm not a computer wizard, but I had no problem whatsoever installing or using it (so far!)I live in a small apartment so maybe it's not surprising that my signal seems very strong; I'm moving along nicely online (DSL) and no slower than when I was using the cable. I really like the portability the card provides, and gives laptop a new meaning...I have not ventured outside the apartment to see how long the range is. Neither do I know if I'll ever need the double wireless feature this card offers...but you just never know...

Bought this card and it worked fine for a couple months. Then it started dropping the connection an average of every couple of minutes. I tried every fix I could find on the internet and nothing. So I tried their email support -- they gave me a bunch of standard cut-and-paste responses until they finally said they were upgrading it to a tier 2 technician, whereupon they quit talking to me (I've yet to hear back from them, despite repeated emails). So I tried calling -- they said it's a software issue and I can either go back to email support (remember: no word for over a month despite repeated emails) or I can get premium support for $32.99 for 15 minutes -- which is asinine since if I use tech support for half an hour, it'd cost me more than what I spent on the card.If you buy this card, pray that nothing ever goes wrong with it -- if it does, you're screwed. For my part, based on this card and pretty much every experience I've had with Netgear, I'm never buying from them again.

-It's January 30, 2010 and I have adjusted the star rating to two.Now it's June 13, 2005 and Amazon won't let me change my star rating that I first entered last year - but now I would give it only TWO STARS.It appears that the advertised wireless rate of 108mbps is just a THEORECTICAL RATE and the device doesn't even come close. So if you are like me and want the speed of WIRED and think this will do it - WRONG.ALso, to get ther "108mbps" rate you need to use NETGEAR routers or you will just be able to get the "54mbps" rate. And I can't get the router to work in "108mbps" mode without disconnects and high pings. I bought another NETGEAR router and it dropped the network after 2 days and again in about an hour - apparently due to overheating. To even try another vendor's 108mbps gear I would be forced to replace my router and the 3 pc adapter cards .As a package, the NETGEAR 108mbps items are not what I thought I was getting. I am now in the process of fishing wire through my house to get to the wireless computers. I will then TURN OFF WIRELESS and use wires to obtain the 100mbps rate that wires can support.Last year, I installed the NETGEAR WG3111T 108 mbps Wireless PCI Adapter while still utilizing my Microsoft MN-500, 11 mbps router. I find it easier to resolve any issues by taking things one step at a time. After the adapter card is operating correctly, I then installed the new NETGEAR WGT624 108 mbps router. I have Windows XP Home edition.First word of advice, for this or any other piece of hardware: Go to the NETGEAR website ([...]) and check out the support area, and see if there is a newer version of the device driver and the utility software. If at all possible, download and install those BEFORE you install the WG3111T. It would have saved me a lot of time if I had done this myself.Installation started smoothly. The Smart Configuration Utility setup the new network connection easily even while my old MSN-510 adapter was connected and operating. The utility listed my available network. I selected it and entered my encryption key. All I had to do was disconnect the old adapter and the NETGEAR WG3111T was up and going. Then I restarted my computer... and I began losing connectivity. When McAfee VirusScan was installing, it would get "synchronization errors" and "VSMain errors". When AOL started up the network would lose connectivity and the IP address was getting changed to 169.254.120.96 or other variations of 169.254. The IP address was also getting changed when I uninstalled CyberSitter. If I ran the Smart Configuration Utility and hit APPLY, then everything would be fine until I restarted AOL. After going to the NETGEAR website and checking out the support area, I found a newer version of the device driver and the utility software. After downloading and installing these, everything is going just fine.Since the antenna sticks out of the card, I was a little concerned about reception but the signal strength turned out to be a little better than with my Microsoft MN-510, 11mbs Wireless USB Adapter. I do have to remember to fold the antenna in before I move the computer around since I get the best reception by sticking the antenna straight out. (The computer is on third floor and router is in my basement ceiling.) The instructions tell you to point the antenna up.After I installed the NETGEAR WGT624 108 mbps router, the WG3111T found the new network and was operating without any effort on my part. When the router broadcast channel was changed, the WG3111T picked-up the change automatically. The reception is consistently in the "excellent" range (and runs at 108 mbps according to the NETGEAR utility), but it does drop to "very good" (and 54 mbps) often. Your reception will be based on the location of your router and receivers. And remember, these rates are theoretical and you will not get anywhere near that actual transfer rate when wireless. Go figure.

I decided to buy this card from Netgear when I have already worked with an identical device from Atheros (engineering sample) for a long period of time. As a networking professional, I have nothing other than praises for this card. Amateurs may need to pay attention though.Pros:1. Long range - This card has excellent range. Of course, a card can only be good when its receiving ability is as good as its transmitting ability. There is no use to be a good listener but a mediocre speaker in a WLAN network. This card is good at doing both.2. a + g capable - It gives you the goods of both worlds! When it is paired with a WGU624 router, it is "supposed" to give you twice the throughput of 108Mbps when both bands are used at the same time. More details below.3. It works in "monitor mode" - This is the biggest reason why I bought a bunch of these cards. With the right driver from Atheros, you can use this card to sniff packets with WLAN sniffers like Airopeek. I have also used it with Kismet, Ekahau, and a whole bunch of other professional WLAN tools (Linux and Windows). I used to work with WAG511, but they are no longer manufactured. WG511T is a perfect replacement! (Good for war-driving too! If you are into that kind of activity)Gotcha:This card is supposed to pair with WGU624 (please read my comment on this device, if you want to know more about it), but the router is having so many issues that you may want to think twice before you buy it. Without the router, you will get no a + g turbo-mode bonding, and that means you get no 2x108Mbps theoratical throughput. As for Netgear's technical support, you should not be expecting much from it.

Terrible product. I have tried using the Windows XP wireless application with just the netgear drivers and tried using the Netgear wireless application with the netgear drivers. Using either one the card disconnects at random using WPA, then you have to repair the connection and sometimes reboot to get the connection back. I reinstalled windows both times I changed drivers just to make sure nothing was conflicting with it, but nothing helped. Latest drivers are 2_0_0_7 and were published in Nov 2004, so netgear has moved on to other cards and is not supporting this one any longer.

I purchased this in a bundle with a Netgear WGT 624 router (the router to replace an router that had stopped working). The router/card package were deeply discounted at brick and mortar store (hint: "that was easy"), so I figured it would be a nice way to upgrade my laptop's wireless data transfer rate (at least while working at home with Netgear's proprietary higher data rate format).Set up and install were trouble-free, and the card immediately recognized my network (and many of my neighbors') and was connected right away. I've since used it in multiple hot spots (802.11g and 802.11b), and it has detected and connected with no problems.I seem to go through Netgear routers like some people go through light bulbs, but I've enjoyed great success with their wireless adapters (both PCMCIA, PCI and USB interfaces). I'm enjoying the faster data rates at home and the ease of connection on the road.In the world of wireless products (routers and adapters): just like with cars, anybody can sell you a lemon. There are complicated hardware and software environments and you never know what's going to work or not until you plug it in...this one was a winner for my needs.

I am not one to be blunt, but I will digress and break with tradition on this review. The WG311 cards (yes, CARDS, I'm so ashamed of myself!) I so stupidly purchased have got to be the largest POS computer gear I have ever purchased, PERIOD! I have been tinkering with computers ever since the Commodore 64 days, so generally I can hold my own when it comes to hardware/software installation, troubleshooting, etc. However, when it came to installing and configuring these red-headed stepchildren, I was at a total loss. It took me 5 install/uninstall cycles to even get them to function, and then the performance was mediocre at best. Once installed, these craptastical nightmares couldn't maintain a wireless connection under the best of circumstances. My computers were constantly losing wireless connectivity, making web-browsing and downloading files an exercise in frustration. After 7 days of this, I finally did the right thing and replaced the cards with Linksys products. My problems then "magically" disappeared. While attempting to get the cursed Netgear filth to function, I spent many hours going back and forth with "offshore" customer service (India). Lets just say that Apu should go back to selling Slurpees as he definitely does not have the mastery of anything remotely related to computer networking, let alone the English Language. When I finally got someone who could speak in complete, intelligible sentences, I still got nowhere. Unfortunately Netgear has absolutely no intention of stooping to the level of making things right, or functional. In summary: These things are crap! Go with Linksys - they ALWAYS make fully functioning products - with rock-solid customer service to back it up. I can only hope that someday I will meet the CEO of Netgear and its parent corporations in a dark alley, where my knuckles can do the talking. Oh what a glorious day that will be!

I'd like to start off by saying this is the only Netgear product I ever had a problem with.I actually have the older WG311v2 edition of this product and it seemed to work for a while. The problem occured when I started getting constant dropping after a few minutes of being connected. I investigated and found that of every 10-15 pings I sent to the router (both a Netgear MR814 802.11b and the WGR614 I decided to upgrade to), it would lag once for up to 1 whole second which is bad when it comes to network connectivity between a system and the router. I tried disconnecting 2.4GHz phones, switching channels, moving the router, moving the computer, replacing the router, changing the PCI slot the card sat in, using Wireless Zero Config, using the latest Netgear util. Nothing worked. To top it off ping testing with other computers wireless on the network showed no dropping. The WG311v2 would drop/lag and I would have to manually make it work again with enable/disabling of the card and reboots of the machine.I did some research into the card and read that a possible hotfix might have caused an issue. Nope, the Hotfix wasn't installed on my system. I later learned that the WG311v2 card just plain has major problems when it comes to reliable connectivity.I picked up a D-Link DWL-G510L the next day for cheap and plugged it in and installed the latest drivers. No problems at all AND the drivers supported WPA-PSK, WPA, WPA2-PSK, and WPA2. The WG311v2 only supports WPA and WPA-PSK.Netgear might have fixed the issues with the WG311v2 with the release of the current WG311v3 but they also might not have. I would take a closer look at the D-Link. It works, is usually cheaper, and it supports the latest wireless security protocols and works great with Wireless Zero Config.

This would have to be the worst piece of equipment I have ever bought. I installed it as per directions, and it seemed to go fine, but the performance of the link was very poor, it is sitting not far from a PC with a DLINK card in it and that PC is getting Very Good to excellent connectivity, same can't be said for the netgear card, it is perpetually sitting down at poor or no connection.I then found that my PC would lose connectivity after 10 minutes (or less) and then the task bar would freeze, I couldn't even bring up task manager to close the PC down.I then uninstalled the software, downloaded the latest drivers, re-installed the card, and tried to use the Win XP controller, but the issues were exactly the same. This is just once piece of hardware that doesn't like to work, a waste of money and time. I would like to see NETGEAR actually fix the issues that so obviously plague this card.If so many other manufacturers can get it right why can't NETGEAR, I think their engineers and programmers need a swift kick up the backside.Until Netgear fix the issue with this card it is the last piece of NETGEAR equipment I will buy. I have had Netgear switches and hubs that worked fine, but obviously Netgear just ins't ready for the magic that is wireless. My recommendation... buy DLINK instead.

Installation is a breeze. I have bought two of these cards, one for AMD one for Intel P4 system. The Card installed on AMD Box was constantly causing the cpu to jump to 90-100% (without any specific processes doing it) and in the end got basically fried to where the 'hardware device could not start'. I had to return it.The card that was put into intel system was also causing constant usage of cpu in 40-70% range, i eventually uninstalled the Netgear Wireless Assistant and it returned to normal. So as a tip for anyone who is ripping their hair out trying to figure out whats going on - don't use Netgear Software. In connection properties, go to Wireless Networks tab and check "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings."Other than having to return one of the cards and spending a couple of hours reinstalling drivers and looking for solutions, it has been working ok. Still can't get nowhere near the promised 108mbs transfer rates... maximum was 40mbs - and thats with wgu624 router. Go figure.Tech support was just about as helpful as your next door neighbor. Netgear outsources to India, and the guy after trying to BS me into believing that 800mhz cpu is not in the range of P3 class of cpus, told me to just return the card.Shop around before you commit to Netgear.Update:The card still causes CPU bottlenecks. Nowhere in the range of 40-70% but when turned off, games run faster, dvd's play without skipping, and general cpu usage is in the range of 2-4%. When using this adapter its in the range of 10-20%.And just for the extra fun, before i uninstalled the card completely - i was getting 1-2 bluescreens a day with WG311T as the cause of the failure.Don't buy this.If i could update the rating it would be 1 star.

I have gotten quite a bit of experience with this card, so might share some information with others about the quality of this product. The Netgear WG311T is the 108 Mbps version of the PCI based wireless adapter for PC's. Note that there is also a 108Mbps USB 2.0 adapter (WG111T) version as well as a 108 Mbps PC Card (WG511T) version for notebooks. The USB 2.0 one seems quite nice, but this WG311T comes with an attenna that you can turn and point in the direction of the wireless router. Note that there has been multiple revisions of this product since introduction. This review is for the V12H019 REV:1 version (printed on the card). I have heard that previous versions (V12H009.0 REV 4 and before) had major problems with freezes and hiccups with VIA chipsets and XP SP2, but the current version I have seems fine (my computer has the VIA chipsets and SP2 of XP). All new cards should have this new version now unless you are buying a used one from someone. Be sure to visit Netgear's website and download the latest drivers for this card (3.0.1.6 as of this writing). The card supports better WPA security with the new drivers and comes with its own utility to connect with the wi-fi routers/access points. I have heard that it works with Microsoft's wireless utility as well as atheros drivers (the card uses their chip). Note that a lot of experts that have tested 108Mbps thoroughput have found that no 108Mps cards by any manufacturer achieve that rate and is usually half that speed. The 108Mbps advertisement comes from using two channels of 54Mpbs in the 2.4 Ghz spectrum instead of one.The card does its job and am able to connect fine with the Netgear WGT634U. In the beginning the signal strength was at full, but after a week or 2 of using it, the signal is one notch lower (96Mbps), but I suspect that is related to the WGT634U router (see my review of that one as well). This is one of those products that requires getting new and updated software so it will work well, so be prepared check for new drivers and install them instead of the ones that come with the card. As long as you have the newer revision of the card and the latest drivers, you should be fine. The Netgear software leaves an icon in the tray that you can open up and check and modify settings of card (like WPA-PSK password). If you are going fully wireless, consider getting bluetooth keyboard/mouse from Microsoft or Logitech, WiJet.Video (wifi video to your monitor), Netgear PS121 (wifi printing), and bluetooth mic, headphones and audio transmitters to your speakers. The major competing brand for this product is the D-Link DWL-G520.

I put this card in my wife's Dell Inspiron 4000 Laptop. It replaced a NetGear 802.11b card. Worked great! Then the Blue Screens of Death started. I have tried different combos of using Window's XP to control the card (against recommendations but is more stable) and using different versions of the software for both the card and NetGear's controlling software to no avail. I am now down to the last attempt, using Window's updated software for the card with Windows controlling the card. We'll see.Pros- Incredible range. Shows 2 more networks in my neighborhood then my Centrino notebook. Super fast page loading.Cons- Crashes the computer. It causes memory dumps that corrupts running programs. The NetGear newsgroups show that it is a known problem with their cards and customer service doesn't have a fix. Do the research yourself. One thing that MAY be the reason for the crashes is that some were using an XP upgrade from ME, which this laptop also has.But try it for yourself. It is a great card when its not crashing the system. There are so many different configuations it may work. If not, return it. Good Luck!

I have been using this adapter for some time now with no problems. First of all, I should mention that my adapter is fully compatible with my copy of Windows XP Pro with SP2. I encountered no problems with the installation of the card. As soon as I installed it, I installed the drivers from the Resource CD, played around with the settings of the connection using NetGear's utility and there you go.. everything worked fine! A wireless router that my neighbour is housing downstairs connects four (or five, I'm not sure) computers in the same building including mine. The adapter immediately detected 2 access points (my neighbour's house, downstairs) and I connected to the one with the strongest signal. No trouble with this piece of equipment. I suspect that a few disappointed customers who wrote previous reviews got their hands on a "faulty" card. It happens.. Another thing.. I am not sure about the reliablility of the adapters previously released as v1 and v2, but mine is WG311 v3.

I would have given it 0 stars if possible because not only were the cards hard to get working, but Netgear support proved to be useless.Brought two cards. One for an XP system, one for a 2000 system. Followed instructions, and neither installed. On the XP system, after trying all the usual fixes (reinstalling software, switching PCI slots, etc), the card finally worked after downloading the driver via Microsoft's "Windows Update" page (via built-in ethernet). On the 2000 system, I ended up calling Netgear support (sounded outsourced), and they informed me that this card is NOT supported in Athlon systems. End of story. Sure enough, says right on the box that a "Pentium-III Class PC" is a requirement. All of us Pentium-4 and Athlon owners are out of luck.I suggest you look elsewhere (particularly if you like decent support). I'm now VERY happy with Motorola products (they managed to solve one issue I had without asking what processor I was using)

After long wait and answering questions like serial number/model number/etc., I was really amazed in the end that the clueless netgear representative told me the solution was to go back to store and return the product. It seems that they don't give a damn to their customer or their buggy product. To make things worse, the barely English speaking representative didn't want to find me a technition who knows a bit more than registering the product, he didn't want to tell me his name, and he didn't connect me to his supervisor either. I have to say that I've never ever had this kind of bad customer service call with any company.Netgear set the new low record, congratulations!

Хорошо

Update: mid November 2004:This was originally a 1-star review. Netgear issued updates for this card allowed work fine Windows Home SP2, which I confirmed during the build of a new machine two months after the original review. My rant in September 2004 was valid then based on the state of their support for XP SP2.________________________________Original early September review:Once installed and working: 4 stars. The single star is for the overall experience in Windows XP Home Service Pack 2 environment. This eventually required a rollback from SP2 *and* an operating system reinstall. This might not be worth it for most people seeking just a little faster data throughput...If your are considering purchasing this --or **any other wireless network adapter**-- check carefully for compatability with Windows XP Home SP2. After over 4 hours of my own troubleshooting, and another hour on hold to speak with Netgear tech support, I learned that the only issue was that this device was having major compatability issues with SP2 (which we deployed last month on 4 computers in our network with no negative effects..until now). At this point you pretty much have the choice of returning to your previous (or non-existent) networking environment or uninstalling SP2. WARNING: Do not choose the SP2 uninstall. I went from a midly annoying networking hardware issue to a full blown operating system meltdown. In the case of Netgear, the SP2 compatibility issue was not discussed on their web site (and certainly not in the included literature): I had to get this important information from the support rep. only after registering the product for the 90 day support period. If you are putting any wireless adapter into an XP SP2 system, it is time well spent to check with their tech support BEFORE install. The hold time may be time consuming, but it will be less so than Windows reinstallation (or a hard drive reformat!). Naturally, since my Netgear issue has morphed into a Windows issue, there's no more help coming from Netgear on this. I've had generally good experiences with Netgear products (a new router and laptop PCMCIA card installed flawlessly and were up and running in minutes), but this combined MS-Netgear SNAFU is a disaster of major proportions. Your experience may vary...but it would take very little for it to be better than mine! Good luck, and caveat emptor!Update: Rollback from XP SP2 plus a reinstall of the operating system plus another 45 minutes on the phone with tech support and we did succeed in getting it running. Enjoying the higher throughput, but I'm not sure it was worth the effort.

Ужасно

Unfortunately this wireless adapter preformed well below any acceptable standards for it to be even considered as an option if you are using a computer with an AMD chipset. I read on one of these reviews that there is a compatibility problem between the two and from my experience, I believe that to be a true statement. I asked Netgear support if there was a compatibility problem between the two and they totally ignored my question, although they did tell me to return the product for a exchange.I never had consistent service and anytime I put any load on the internet it would freeze and make me have to re-start the computer just to get it back on line. The only reason it gets 2 stars is because it was really easy to install and the software was easy to use and understand. But, what it comes down to is if the product worked or not, and in my case it didn't even after I worked so hard to fix the problem. (downloading new drivers, troubleshooting, working with Netgear support, reinstaling multiple times)In the end the fix was simple.. I bought a linksys wireless adapter and the internet is smoking now!

Великолепно

I replaced wireless B external adapters with this installed wireless G adapter. The external adapters allowed me to put the antenna way up in the air on top of furniture the computer sits in to get the best connection. I was concerned because installing the netgear equipment meant that I was not going to be able to have the antenna sit up high, and since my computers and router are 1 floor apart and the complete opposite side of the house, I was concered I would not get a clean connection... BOY WAS I WRONG. The Netgear adapter offers higher speeds and gets much better signal than the external B wireless antennas I was using, even though the Netgear antenna is low to the ground behind the computer. I noticed the difference in the speed of my connection immediately. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a great wireless G connection.

Ужасно

I bought a Netgear WG311T wireless card to replace one from another manufacturer that had failed. First, I coudln't get a connection to the router. Two conversations with tech support in India produced the information that I had to download a new driver for Windows XP-SP2 from the internet. I installed the new driver, which allowed me to connect to the router, but not reliably to the internet. A third attempt with tech support produced the suggestion that I change my web browser (I'm using IE!) Instead, I bought a Linksys card, which worked straight out of the box. Don't buy this product! If you're not convinced, go to the Netgear user forum and read the horror stories there.
