Works great, but don't be surprised if you have to call tech support to get it working. I found the install directions not very helpful.They are available 24/7 and will help you.

...and as an IT professional, I've seen some bad ones. But this is the first one I've seen that does a better job of destroying an operating systems than most viruses.Not only does this adapter overheat and shut down constantly (even with a room fan blowing cool air it), the worthless piece of **** has totally destroyed my XP Pro system, forcing me to reinstall Windows (oh, joy!). The drivers they have for this thing must have been coded by a mentally retarded baboon, and no matter what the instructions say, installing the program first does not magically make the drivers not destroy your OS.It's a freaking USB adapter, and it managed to completely corrupt unrelated system services and registry keys, somehow uninstalled TCP/IP (and made sure windows no longer recognizes ANY network adapter on the machine) and made sure that even rebuilding the services and registry keys from my XP CD wouldn't fix the problems.A USB device that destroys the computer's networking abilities... maybe they should sell it as a weapon instead of an adapter.AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!And, for what it's worth, their tech support is the worst I've ever encountered - as I had some Indian guy with a very thick accent who almost spoke English telling me that my operating system was booting up while I was looking at a blue screen of death. It was like talking to a brick wall.This product has single handedly turned me off of Netgear for good. No wonder they haven't been able to get their drivers digitally signed by Microsoft. THEIR DRIVERS AREN'T EVEN WINDOWS COMPATIBLE!!!!

As always, a crucial point to look for as a gamer is whether or not a wireless adapter will have heat issues down the line. I had this product for nearly fourteen months, and out of the blue it started getting heat issues, giving me 1.0mbps for hours on end if I was on Warcraft or even surfing the internet. After reinstalling the driver, I had about 36.0mbps to even 11mbps with a perfect signal, clearly indicating that it had heated up, or started working improperly. All my anti-virus scans and my spyware scans came up empty (as they should, since I do them regularly), and I have concluded that this heats up.Simply stated, it heats up quite quickly as other reviewers have said, it is too fat, and that 1.0mbps stuff annoyed me.Buy Linksys or D-Link instead.

From what I've discovered that alot of wireless cards are using Atheros based drivers and some VIA chipsets do not work well Atheros based cards, ranging from slightly annoying OS skips to complete system failures. I have not been able to get a definitive list of what cards are atheros based and what are not. I was able to get this wireless card work with my old AMD processor on a soyo motherboard with a VIA chipset. However I gave this card to a friend several months ago and I've been trying to upgrade to wireless N, I have a different VIA based motherboard with an intel processor running Windows XP, I suffer OS interrupts and skips with these adapters installed, I haven't been able to track this card down yet to test if it works with my new motherboard or not. I have tried a belkin PCI Wireless-N and a D-Link USB wireless-N adapter and both of them gave the same issue: OS interrupts/skips. So I'm thinking until I get a new motherboard to just use wireless G that doesn't mess with my system.

This is one of the best networking product ideas I have used. I don't see why using regular routers for a home network. Installation and understanding of what each element does is not trivial. Performance is good although once in a while it needs to be rebooted (like most routers). Definitely worth the price and the time setting it up.

Using this router with the WN121T on my main computer. Set up was flawless and the speeds are blistering. I have 8 devices hooked up to my wired/wireless network including VoIP. No problems whatsoever in using multiple devices at the same time and not seeing any lag at all like I did with the NETGEAR Super G router this replaced. The WN121T set up right out of the box and is working great.Wholeheartedly recommend!

Easy is the word! The networking kit takes only minutes to set up and you're on your way. Lightning fast speed with both Wii and XBox. Very strong signal. Great video. This is my first wireless router, so I have nothing to compare it to. But suffice it to say that even a beginner like me found this system easy to use and was amazed at just what all I could do with it. Highly recommended!

I spent less than 15 minutes setting this set up, which afterwards was great! Works well with my Wii, has much greater range with no deadspots. This is my first N network, and it's amazing! Great job, NetGear!!

It was a little tricky to get it to work. Because, the first time I (unknowingly) was picking up a wrong signal. When I called Netgear, they were helpful (although I had difficulty understanding them, they are in India.) A couple of months ago after a bad rainstorm I completely lost my connection. I called Netgear, but they told me the problem was with my router. So I called Linksys and they told me that I needed to set up a new network. Apparently they claimed that it was "erased" and my connection from the router to my adapter was lost permanently. But they (Linksys) walked me through the steps; they were helpful but also in India so it was again challenging to understand them. Since I got my new network set up I have had no problem getting online and keeping a connection. Other reviews state that their adapter cannot keep a connection for very long. Of course, I'm not a computer expert, but that sounds like either a manufacturer's defect or maybe the adapter or router isn't configured correctlt?

Having read the other reviews, I guess I've been really lucky. I almost didn't buy this unit, but since I owned a previous version that supported parallel printers, I thought I'd give it a try.I don't use many features of the firewall, except I filter all incoming requests. But after finding out I needed to reboot the cable modem router, the FMG114P worked perfectly as a wireless router. The range is just sufficient to reach from 1 corner of the house on the 1st floor, to the extreme opposite corner on the 2nd floor. Probably about 60'. My old router was a B, this is a G. I haven't noticed it "feeling" much fast.Connecting my Cannon iP4300 could not have been any easier. There was no software to install for Windows 2000. I just run a simple 3 step process to create a TCP/IP printer port and its worked perfectly. I do have a printer manager application that pops up saying the printer isn't responding, yet the printer starts up and does what it needs to do. I suspect its just a timeout since I'm not sure the drive knows that the printer isn't directly connected to the computer and isn't expecting a response immediately. Anyway, I ignore the message and it quickly goes away. (The router documentation warns that this may happen).All in all. Its was a perfect replacement for its older sibling and luckily I didn't need tech support.BTW, this was version 2.

I have six of these installed in my main office and three outdoors to connect several buildings. I'm not sure why the other reviews are so negative. On the indoor six units I'm running RADIUS authentication on a Windows 2003 network and it works flawlessly. I've had to adjust the power output for each unit so they don't over-reach. Users can roam the building and stay connected with no problems. The outdoor units are running in AP/Bridge mode and have been trouble-free. I'm not convinced the external 9db antenna really adds much more range. Be sure you're using the latest firmware which resolves a DHCP error.

I bought this router to replace a WNR854T and it exhibited the same problem after 3 weeks--power light on, nothing working, dead router. Yes, I am a fool for trying Netgear again. The WNR854T at least lasted 6 or 7 months. I returned this one and got a Linksys.No more Netgear products for me ever again. And I have purchased Netgear products for the last 5 years or so.Don't buy this routher.

Had most of the problems you can read about here. With wireless (WAP security) turned on and little used I had to reboot the router monthly. With some long working wireless Saturdays it could lock up within a few hours. Only solution is power cycle; which at least doesn't reset the flash settings.So I quit using wireless, connected up a cable, and as a router and statefull firewall it's been pretty darn stable for more than a year - with only very occasional wireless use. Good enough to not replace, but not what I bought.Router died on 02 May 2009, with ethernet port to DSL modem non-responsive. Troubleshooting a pain because the router log only indicates timeouts for PPPoE PADO responses. Don't buy.

This is going to be my second FWG114P I'll be purchasing. Netgear has package a great device... combination Print Server/FireWall solution. I found it simple to configure and maintian... Recommend to update to the latest software rev. immediately before configuration. Once you have configured your device to your liking... remember to back up your settings!Now the review... It has been my experience with the Netgear wireless devices will only last between 2-3 years. I previously owned a FR114W with a wireless adapter.. this was good for almost 3 years (2004). I called support and after challenging their INDIA Tech Support for days/weeks and 3 RMA's later, I finally, got a new product not a Refurbished one after complaining! I decided to go with the FWG114P keeping the FR114W as a backup. Thank goodness for that else I wouldn't be able to write this review today... Great device until just recently... Again the Wireless component after 2 years went bad...challanged INDIA Tech Support to begin the RMA Merry-go-Round... After several blind action items including, rebooting the worksation, router, disconnecting the power from the wall and ISP connection and finally flashing to the latest software revision (This must be scripted the engineers I worked with were clueless) and 2 1/2 hours later they determined the device just went bad and the RMA was finally issued.I really like the product but don't count on the India Support and don't count on the device to last more than 2-3 years. One clue... Once you finish playing with India support and if you have gotten no where... DEMAND! "ONSHORE Level 2 support". This will get routed to California... here you stand a better chance of resolution. I did...less than 30 min. and I got the RMA. If anyone knows of another Print server/FW all-n-one device like this one please respond I would recommend a change to a more reliable device.

Initially I was getting slower speeds for my HDHomerun and posted a review here, but after being contacted by NETGEAR support, I was able to resolve the issue by adding a WISH rule on both devices to prioritize the traffic.That said it was easy to setup, just plug in, push a button on each device, and its no problem. I have been using it reliably for a voip telephone, file transfers, and lower quality video for over a month now.

I bought this wireless adapter about 2 years ago, and discontinued using it after about two months because the connection was very sporadic and slow. Their customer support staff was totally and completely unhelpful. I later found out that part of the problem was the Netgear wireless router, which was unreliable in its ability to transmit the signals, and I had to unplug and then fully restart both the cable modem and the router several times a day. I switched to a Netgear wire router, which was only slightly more reliable and was able to deliver higher speeds, but I still found myself unplugging and restarting every few days.I recently bought a new non-Netgear wireless router (Linksys, which works great), and the Netgear adapter seems to be working well, that is, until it starts to overheat. It only takes a few hours for it to overheat and it just stops working, so I have to unplug it to let it cool down then replug. I've read that others have been experiencing the same problem with their wireless adapters.After trying 3 different Netgear products, I would NEVER AGAIN buy another product from them. Their products are inferior and prone to problems, and good luck getting technical support. Save your money and avoid headaches, DON'T BUY NETGEAR.

I use the WG111T with a Netgear wireless router (MR814) that connects my home computers to the Internet. I have been using the WG111T to obtain drivers in order to get the 802.11 cards working on used laptop computers that came with erased hard drives (after reinstalling the licensed OS - Win2K). I have also used it with a desktop PIII 500 in which I didn't want to install a wireless card. The WG111T is easy to install and works well on all the computers I have used it. I have not noticed any operating problems with the WG111T, and am very pleased with the product.

Just received it and works perfectly so far. It works on Vista but i suggest you ask your seller first because there are different version of the product. Also if you have wep on your hotspot then you should use the windows wireless connection wizard instead of the netgear one. well it is reliable and comes with an extended usb cord which also offers a bigger range of connectivity.Have fun!

I've been using this router for a couple of weeks now with no hitches. The wireless connection signal is very strong.Setup was fairly easy and painless, but you should know this.....I connected my Canon multi-functional printer, scanner, copier, fax unit into the router's USB port and all I can do is print. You also won't get any feedback from the printer, so when you hit "Print" the popup printing progress window tells you the printer isn't responding, but it's actually printing just fine. This is not a huge problem for me, as that's all I do from my laptop is print. Most of the time that's all I do with my printer from my desktop computer too. When I want to do something else from my desktop, I just swap the USB plug to the computer's USB port and back into the router when I'm done, nothing needs resetting. I consider it a minor inconvenience, but your mileage may vary.

I have this wireless adapter, and it works fine... when I am not uploading or downloading a lot of data. However, when I am doing so, it will constantly overheat. Sometimes it overheats within a matter of hours, but sometimes it will overheat within 15-30 minutes. It can be very frustrating to constantly have to unplug it, let it rest (or stick it in the fridge), and then plug it in again. I am currently looking to replace it, which is frustrating because it was comparitively expensive when I bought it.

Она имеет хороший диапазон и подключается к моей Linksys маршрутизатор безотказно из любого места в доме.<бр /><бр />кто-то говорил, что он, кажется, заморозить на некоторых ноутбуках. В моем случае, это случайно выключает мой Dell ноутбук Inspiron 7500 ноутбук (или ставит его на стенд). У меня установлены самые последние драйвера для этой карты. В конце концов, я попробовал подключить свой ноутбук прямо на роутер через сетевой кабель и никогда не имел никаких проблем.

I have set up several computers in my home network using this model. For the most part, I have had success. Every now and then, it's necessary to "repair" the connection, or to re-start the NetGear software. This happens after periods on inactivity and does help to maintain a level of security. I use this product on Windows XP Home Edition, Windows XP Professional, and Windows Vista Premium successfully. Take time to learn and explore when setting up your home network. All systems require some degree of tweeking. It helps to learn somewhat about these products and their applications prior to jumping into the installation. If you are a novice with little patience (like may of the negative reports I have read),hire a computer geek to help you set up your network. Have fun!

Device worked flawlessly - plug and play - re-configured easily for WPA-PSK security. 2 - wireless NICs both received different DHCP addresses simultaneously from one WGX102. Perfect for the one room in the house which was a dead zone. Anywhere else in the house - I re-attach to the router with no problem. If you need to extend your wireless network, this is a perfect solution.
