I was looking for another gaming console to put in the main television room to replace the increasingly less-used and less-functional Wii. Our main media room has a beautiful 60" Pioneer plasma and connecting the 720p connection of the Wii always bothered me. You can't tell in the most of the games as the Wii action usually isn't too fast, however, with Netflix finally brining the HD fun to the steaming environment I wanted solid 1080p connectivity.After about six months of mulling over games, controllers (lack of controllers), future games, and taking a hard look at what each system has to offer online, I decided to go with a second 360 and give Kinect a run for our family and party gaming.Just a few quick observationsCompared to the 360 elite we have upstairs, the new unit is smaller, quieter, and way more glossy. So glossy, it holds on to the dust. Not a problem, but if you're a little OCD with your dusting, put this in a cabinet. The power plug is different from the elite model as is most of the layout on the back to include the Kinect plug, smaller power plug, and HDMI out.They are making the 360 much easier to set up and with the Kinect it's the same thing. It was a quick setup. I believe it took about ten minutes to set up Kinect, grab my xbox live profile, and get the first game loaded.The Kinect is very intuitive as well. We have 41 year old gaming veterans and 8 year olds that were so excited they could barely hold still competing against each other in the long jump and the other sports games in minutes. Each game or event we tried was easy to pick up for everyone. It was impressive to see the 6yo and 8yo pick up on the navigating so quickly as they moved through the menus and options with their hand gestures.The movies look great, the sound is brilliant, I think the picture on Forza, Dirt, and Halo seem a little better on this version than the elite. In addition, the menus seem a little crisper, and you have Kinect or voice navigation available if you want to ditch the controller.They might not have some true hard-core games available with the Kinect, but the family games are more fun for parties and we can always take out the controllers to get our game on. All in all, great system, fun games, and a first-rate online experience.

I bought this bundle for my girlfriend as a gift, but unfortunately Microsoft has decided to include the matt black console in the bundle instead of the glossy black one with chrome trim (if you look closely at the picture on the box you can see). I personally prefer the glossy finish because it matched the rest of my electronics better, and I knew my girlfriend would prefer the glossy look as well, so I ended up selling this bundle to someone else and bought a different used xbox 360 on craigslist that came with the glossy console with chrome trim.Also, the games this bundle comes with can be purchased separately for about $10 a piece used on amazon.com, so those don't add much value to the bundle.Bottom line, if you like the matte black look then this is a good bundle to go with. But don't pay much more for the games because they are very cheap to buy later.

2 seperate orders 16 days an email to Jeff Bezos and they could not perform, could not figure out where it was coming from they could not talk to purchasing they could not FIND either order. Cancel order from Microsoft direct got it in two days...the xbox 360 250gb console I don't know what I was thinking never ever buy from Amazon.

Had earlier generation xBox 360. Compared to that, it is awesome. Very nice improvements. Specially Kinect blowed me away. Finally a job well done by Microsoft.

Bought this new unit after my original Xbox 360 elite got the ring of death. Within three weeks the DVD drive has started to malfunction. I can only eject discs manually with a paper clip. Now I get to look forward to not having the unit for 3 weeks while it's being repaired, assuming I can find a box in which to send the xbox in for maintenance. Microsoft's hardware design and sourcing is abysmal.

I received the hard drive thinking it would be a Microsoft Hard Drive as described on the item page. It was not. It was a third party drive. It's possible that this was due to the seller, Bestumart, for which I have left seller feedback. If you're in the market for a third party hard drive, or don't mind one, this is the item you want. I'm sure it works as intended but according to some reports there are issues with playing original Xbox games on third party drives. I returned mine for a full refund. I think the hard drive you will receive depends on the seller. Hope this helps those of you looking for a new hard drive. If you want, or don't mind, a third party drive, then this is what you want.

Why pay more than you need too? Best Buy sells this exact bundle for $350. Great price as the XBox 360 and Kinect cost more than $350 individually plus you get a few free games. Must buy if you decide to buy the Xbox 360.

For only $250 (plus a $25 amazon credit one day only deal), I feel like I got a great deal on this Xbox. Considering this exact thing sells in stores for $299 plus tax, it is simply unbeatable. I have played Halo Reach when I used to own an Xbox, and honestly it isn't a great game (In my opinion), and Fable 3 I have never played but I can see on Amazon that it sells for $10 or less new. The value of the games you get in the bundle isn't too big, but it's good to have it there anyway.It comes with a 3 month gold card which it says runs for $25. While this is true, the dashboard always has great membership deals at dirt cheap prices. In fact, when I was going to redeem the code, I noticed there was 2 months for $2 and just bought that. It's nice to have the 3 month bonus for free, but just consider the fact that there is ALWAYS a great dashboard deal when your membership is either expired or about to expire.

Broke down and bought the "retail" 250 gb hard drive for a new xbox 360 slim (4gb/kinnect) I purchased over the holiday on sale. You really need the extra space if you do any kind of serious gaming/video server work with the Xbox. The entry level 4gb unit just wasn't cutting it for me and at this price it made it worth purchasing the retail over buying 3rd party and doing a work-around.Sadly, with-in the first few days of use games started freezing mid game. After 10 days the Xbox stopped starting up with the drive installed. Luckily the drive is easy to install/un-install. When I pulled the drive out the Xbox started up no problem. I purchases another drive and used a neighbors drive to insure the issue wasn't with the xbox (it wasn't).at the price I would have given the item a solid 4 star. Right now it is a single star and we will see how the seller deals with the issue of replacement/return. Should i receive a replacement in a timely manner I will adjust rating.

My husband and I wanted to be able to play video games with our grandchildren who live in a different state. We all had a WII system and hooked that up for Wi-Fi so we could all play together. That was a huge disappointment when we found that not all WII games are playable through the Wi-Fi and we found very few games that we all would be interested in playing. The kids already had an XBox system so after doing some research we found that the Xbox system would be the way to go and be able to play together through XBox Live. We found this Xbox system with the Kinect included at Amazon and jumped at buying it for ourselves. We also received a fantastic deal included with this bundle.....a promo code for $100 towards future Amazon purchases!! No one could beat that deal!! We love this system and the Kinect is so much fun! Every Xbox and Kinect game is playable through Xbox Live so we are thrilled with this system. This purchase also made Christmas shopping for the grandkids even easier for us, we are getting them a Kinect and the family plan Xbox Live account along with some games. We all will be playing Xbox and Kinect games together!! Thank you Amazon for such a wonderful deal, you have made Christmas fun for all of us this year, even though we can't all be together!

great system great graphics but seriously why does microsoft have to change for xbox live i had a ps3 and let me tell u the online multiplayer is the same shit. i think microsoft jsut cant give up an opportunity to make money off people. like making u buy a charger for the controller. and have u pay a none sense fee to use their console for online gaming the games are expensive enough. ps3 network is free and works just the same trust me i had a ps3

I purchased a laptop from Dell and got a free 4GB Xbox360. So I needed to buy a hard drive with lots of space. It was easy to insert into my Xbox and I love having so much space for all of my games. Much safer bet to go with Microsoft products than non-Microsoft products.

ahh I just could wait to get this! after getting obsessed over Reach this summer I made it my mission to get an Xbox of my own. Being an old Ps2 gamer and avid PC gamer I thought that nothing would surprise me, which was not the case! The xbox has such a different,slick feel, especially the controller, much more original than the PS's. For the price you get quite a lot, I would have preferred a hard copy of Halo: Reach instead of Fable and I would've loved to have an hdmi cable instead of the standard ones.. If everyone would just own an HD tv already! Other than that I have no concerns. OK my biggest concern is self-control, im telling ya, this thing is worst than drugs!For the Xbox experience in general I would warn newcomers that to enjoy flawless gaming experience you need quite A LOT of accessories.Nice TV( Low lag time is A MUST for FPS players, you don't wan't the enemy to see you before you do!), HDMI CABLE A MUST, a controller charger if you go wireless since batteries just don't suit, if you like online than have in mind to either be near a router or cable so nothing slows down. So what you waitin for, jump in.
