- + Всё таки Microsoft свои штучки друг под друга лучше затачивает.Купил,принёс,воткнул провод.Сразу написало что надо поставить.Поставил без проблем(сразу подсказочки какие то полезли).Дрова ну в смысле диск даже не видел.Качество отличное(чуствительнось матрицы хорошее) даже когда в комнате темно а картинка как днём.Когда светло ещё даже хуже кое где засвечивает.Но надо настройки по убавить.Звук отличный хоть и один микрофон зато Hi-Fi.На маниторе смотрится как тут и была(как влитая).Да ещё радует дырочка с резьбой под штатив(может решусь и что ни будь дома поснимаю ;)).

- + Великолепное качество картинки. Поначалу даже и не ожидал такого от WEB камеры. Реально низкий уровень шумов. Наличие автофокуса.
Продуманное программное обеспечение с реально работающими улучшайзерами картинки.
Высокое качество звука - микрофон Hi-Fi (разницу слышно даже при низкой скорости интернета).
Удобное крепление (использовал на 3-х компьютерах и ноутбуке - везде держится без проблем)...

- + Когда купил качество было классным! Работает! качество классное. Доволен.
- - С диска ПО не ставиться и требует интернета всегда, и без интернета не запускается. как и с сайта ПО тоже не ставиться с первого раза. Обновлять ПО самой камеры (микропрограмма) не стоит — сильно ухудшает изображение. как вернуть прошивку обратно неизвестно.
Если б не глючное ПО было б хорошо!

- + Нормальный звук, нормальная картинка. Удобный кейс. Индикация. Конструктив.
- - 1. Под десятой виндой работает только после правки реестра ручками. Камера Майкрософт. В винде. Эпик фейл.
2. Очень часто зависает. Собственно это причина низкой оценки - пользоваться невозможно.

- + Разъём для штатива, неплохая цветопередача, чувствительный микрофон (ловит шепот из другого конца комнаты), широкий обзор, солидный внешний вид.
- - Звук глуховат (много низких частот). Тормозной автофокус, который далеко не всегда работает. Видео снимает с разрешением 720p, а не full HD (ну это я сам виноват, не нужно было вестись на надпись на коробке).
Но самый главный недостаток - эта железяка очень избирательно подходит к аппаратному обеспечению компьютера. Вероятность того, что она запустится на вашем компе и будет корректно работать - 50 /50.
Если вы попали в первую категорию - поздравляю. Если во вторую, то вас может ожидать это:
- пересвеченная картинка без возможности что-то исправить стандартными средствами (иногда пересвеченность достигает апогея - ослепительно белого цвета);
- самопроизвольное отключение видео и (или) звука в процессе...

--- BEWARE I DO NOT RECOMMEND UPDATING THE FIRMWARE IF PROMPTED ---I give Microsoft a C-minus for effort on this one. The good is that it worked when it was first plugged in to the PC. The bad is that I installed the newest software Microsoft released since the manufacturing of the device, and it left the webcam broken. My customer support experience was terrible. Read below for details, or click over to the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920, 1080p Webcam for a device that is not only functional, but actually has some major features that this Microsoft Lifecam Studio is lacking.It arrived, and does not include a disc with drivers or software. The packaging encourages you to hop over to Microsoft.com to download their Lifecam software (not worth the money they paid their software engineers to develop it). I plugged in the webcam before installing the software, and it worked great. Then I followed Microsoft's instructions and installed the latest firmware. Ordinarily I wouldn't have bothered, but firmware updates are released to fix bugs encountered after distributing a hardware product. The bad thing is that firmware (in lay computer user terms) is the software stored INSIDE the hardware. It is the programming that allows it to actually start-up and function for you. As you read earlier, I performed the update and it broke the camera so that it no longer displays video. It outputs a solid black picture to any device it is connected to. There is no solution to this, with exception to Microsoft releasing a newer firmware update that outlines it fixes their faux pas.You know, mistakes happen. I was just a little bummed out and thought "shoot, well guess this has to go back." Then I decided I should have due diligence and research the topic. Surely if I had this experience another customer must have. This left me very disappointed because on Microsoft's own support site they have forum posts describing this EXACT issue for this exact model. Just no resolution or even reply stating they're working on a solution. One post was from a Top Contributor (maybe MS employee??) that said "I suggest you start a new thread due to the age of this one" ... This made me lose all hope, so I am having to return the camera to Amazon.The other stuff you should know;The cheaper and supposedly lessor capable Microsoft LifeCam Cinema actually will leave you with the same quality video experience with most programs. I can't say that the advertising for the Lifecam Studio model is false, but it's borderline. This model, the "studio", boasts being 1080p HD (True High Definition). This camera only takes single frame photos at that resolution/quality. In most situations this camera will only provide you with a 720p HD experience, just as the afore mentioned Lifecam Cinema model. Unless you have a HD computer screen with a resolution of 1600x1080, the video recipient on the other end needs to have this technology, otherwise they'll never see the difference. For highly technical people this matters (and they wouldn't have read this far). For the normal office video conference of 1-2 guys to someone in a remote office, or to video call your kid in college - a 720p camera is great.If you still want to have the absolute best quality video, so that just in case the person on the receiving end gets the sharpest quality video of you ... You'll want a camera like the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920, 1080p Webcam. It's stereo microphone, and true 1080p video recording/live streaming ability at 30 frames per second is far superior. From what I read this Logitech model handles the High Definition processing on the 'hardware side', inside the camera. In the long run this makes me believe it will take longer to become dated technology, and have a wider compatibility of uses. It's also in the same price bracket.

This is a review of both the Microsoft LifeCam Studio 1080p HD Webcam (Gray) and the Logitech 1080p Webcam Pro C910 with Skype HD, comparing them for the application of capturing recorded video/audio into a file for applications needing a professional look and sound. For the reviewed application, I find the Logitech webcam and its software reasonably well suited (although with limitations) and the Microsoft webcam unsuitable.In these applications, the built-in microphones are inadequate since they produce a tunnel effect in which the person sounds far away and "hollow." So the recordings were done using an external USB microphone Samson Q1U - Microphone.Note: The requirements for this application are significantly more stringent than simple use as a webcam for videoconferencing or the like. For simple applications, either unit will suffice.================================LOGITECH WEBCAM AND WEBCAM SOFTWARE:Advantages:* Logitech (LC) software easily allows use of an external microphone.* LC software easily allows choosing standard/widescreen and resolution (e.g. 1280x720) for the capture.* LC software provides a live preview that aids in setting the proper focusing and lighting. (See limitations below for why you need to do this!)* Picture is very clear and crisp within the webcam's limited focusing range. It's best to keep the webcam within 30 inches (76 cm) of the subject. It generally cannot focus sharply beyond about 36 inches (91 cm).* Video and audio are in sync (proper lip sync) when viewed on just about any media player.* LC software stores the file in WMV format which provides reasonable quality and compact file size. The software allows choosing low/medium/high quality although I only used high quality.* When recording a person in front of a green screen for subsequent video processing, the LC webcam provides very good contrast using either Right Light or manual lighting control. This facilitates doing the green screen mask so one can add the background of one's choice.Limitations:* The webcam can only focus properly out to about 30 to 36 inches (76 to 91 cm). Maybe 48 inches (122 cm) with great lighting. Beyond that the picture will be out of focus.* The autofocus will refocus when the subject moves in or out of the picture and frequently seemed to lose focus. I had to hold my hand near the webcam to let it refocus on something up close so it would then refocus on me properly. I turned off autofocus and adjusted the focus manually.* When using the various menus to change settings within the LC software, the manual focus you carefully set may get lost and the webcam returns to nearest-distance focusing. So remember where you set it so you can easily restore the setting!* The automatic lighting (Right Light?) feature automatically adjusts for lighting. Except that if you move out of the picture and back in, it may lose the ability to adjust color properly. Placing your hand up near the webcam lets it re-determine the lighting properly. I turned this off and manually set the color. The color and gain settings can be saved in one unnamed setting, which is a help.* There is no tripod mount. A separate one may be purchased (NOT a Logitech item - perhaps Promaster or equivalent) and glued to the base of the webcam. Or use a heavy rubber band to hold it onto a tripod head.================================MICROSOFT LIFECAM STUDIO WEBCAM WITH PROVIDED SOFTWARE AND WINDOWS LIVE MOVIE MAKER (WLMM)Advantages:* Webcam specs claim it can focus to 10 meters (32.8 feet). But this is of limited use since beyond about 3 feet a person will get very small in the picture when shooting at 720p widescreen.* Webcam has a tripod mount for standard photography tripods.* Clear, crisp video pictures.Disadvantages:* Webcam has lip-sync problems! If the captured video is viewed on Windows Media Player all is fine. If it is viewed on other media players (e.g. VLC, QuickTime, DivX) or brought into video editing software (e.g. Sony Vegas Pro) the video and audio will be out of sync. I found about a 0.6 second gap. This is a constant difference across the entire clip. The only way I found with extensive research to fix this is to use video editor software, separate the audio and video tracks, and manually shift the two until they are in sync. (Reducing the length of the audio, which may well be longer than the video track, will fix the sync at the beginning although it will grow gradually out of sync as time progresses in the clip.)* Provided software does NOT allow use of an external microphone. Must use either Windows Live Movie Maker (WLMM) or some other capture software.* With the automatic lighting, when recording a person in front of a green screen the webcam adjusts and darkens the picture compared to the green screen scene alone which reduces contrast. This makes it more difficult to create the green screen mask needed to substitute the background of one's choice. I did not test this using manual lighting control - it seems
