I have bought a total of 4 of these to share with my family members across the country so that we may Skype once a week -- they are absolutely great! Good, clear picture and we enjoy using the other "skewing" capabilities it offers. I will buy more for any of my other family members if they want to join in on Skyping with me and my daughters, son-in-law and grandson.

This is to be my makeshift hi res camera for my photography. It works exactly the way i needed it too. only downside is how it "latches" onto the top of my laptop. It has a flexible stand the DOUBLES as the latch.

Works great. Needed a web cam, and didn't want to spend a lot of money on it. Easy to install and even has a microphone. The microphone works when not using the camera.

This is an amazing webcam. I had a logitech HD quick cam pro 9000 before this one and it never worked with skype and did not perform well even with other video conferencing software. Whereas this one is the best webcam I've ever used.The video quality is amazing even in low bandwidth. It automatically compensates low light, so you always have bright colorful video. I wish the attachment base was better but that isn't stopping me from giving the webcam five star rating or recommending it.

I have always used AMD processors instead of Intel and I didn't notice when I bought this webcam that in the system requirements it said Intel. I started freaking out and nearly canceled my order before it shipped, but figured I'd wait for it to come and see if it worked and it did. So now I finally have an awesome HD webcam for Skype. My old webcam was really horrible and it didn't have a mic so it's really nice to have a mic again. It actually looks cool on top of my monitor too so I'm happy.

I installed it and it works very well with exceptional quality for taking snapshots but when i try to use it in any cam to cam site, my video is not seen.t Probably doing something wrong but have no idea what... most sites have a permission to show tag which doesn't make any difference when i tunr it on.

Excelent and inexpensive. It has good quality pictures and sound. It is very useful for my frequent conference meetings at work. I recommend it.

Skeptical because there were no reviews. So I went on CNET & they give this cam a great review. Its bendable, so it'll adjust to whatever size ur screen may be- prolly best for flat screen desktops that arent completely flat & notebooks. No cd to install. Just hook it up & ur on ur way. It wants u to make a microsoft id, which i did, but thats a waste since i cant seem to log onto the chat. So just go to skype & sign up- much easier! This cam is great 4 travel. Just take it with u- no big lens to get busted- hook it up 2 whatever computer & log onto Skype & ur done. U can do black & white, and a few others. Also, ur mouth doesnt keep moving once uve stoped talking- like some webcams- which is a great plus 4 me! Great webcam for a great price- u will indeed get ur money's worth!

Make sure you realize that this is a webcam for a LAPTOP. I didn't realize that but for $12, I'm not going to return it. The cord for the camera is very short, so if you're not going to use it on a laptop, don't waste your money. The camera does work just fine as does the built-in mic. It's not the clearest, most amazing image quality - but for $12, what would you expect? This is a very good purchase if you're looking to just do simple webcam chatting or recording.

I purchased this webcam because I was tired of dealing with my integrated webcam. It was poor picture, poor sound quality and I wanted something better.I looked at retails stores and was always deterred by the high price as I was needing two webcams. I looked on amazon and found this webcam at a GREAT price! And since I use Windows Live messenger anyways, I jumped on them.The Picture is SO much better than my integrated webcam as well as the sound. It's not the greatest, I'm sure, but I was very happy with the difference.I love that it's small and has it's own carrying pouch. Easily fits in my laptop carrying case.One issue I had was installing it. It's not as smooth as I would like it. An error message comes up saying it wasn't installed correctly, but it was? It tries installing again. Then it works. I'm not sure it this is an isolated problem...but everything eventually installed correctly.The other issue I had, was the button on the webcam itself to make a webcam call easy...wasn't really working for me. I would push it, bring up my contacts, I select which one I want to webcam with...and nothing. I had to actually change the primary webcam to the new webcam to finally make it work. Now I initiate a webcam chat as I always did, and it works fine. I'm assuming that problem was only because my laptop already came integrated with a webcam.For the AMAZON price...this is a GREAT buy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

New to using a webcam and it was easy to install/setup and use - very simple instructions to follow. It works great with Microsoft Office Communicator and even Cisco Video Advantage and Cisco IP Communicator (using it for several projects at work).

Yes, this is what I've been looking for as a lightweight webcam and relately cheaper. That means, I'll not expect its definition to be that clear like a hd video. However, it still looks clear enough.

I was actually quite surprised at how easy and user friendly this little camera was to install and use on my computer. It took me all of just a few minutes to get it up and running. And the picture quality is very, very good! So much so that I was really surprised and ultimately quite pleased with it! The only downside to this particular model is the fact that it doesn't include a digital microphone (you will need a separate microphone), or auto focus, which can be quite the pain in the behind if you aren't staying stationary in front of the computer. However, once you get the focus set and stay in one spot it does work very well. Not that you can't move around within the pre-focused distance, but you have to severely limit your forward and backward movements. If these two features are important to you, I would highly recommend upgrading to the Microsoft LifeCam Cinema 720p HD Webcam (Black), which really isn't that much more than this product and is well worth the price.Shawn KovacichCreator of numerous books and DVD's.

I use both a Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 and Microsoft Lifecam VX-5500. The HD-3000 falls between these two quality-wise (just as you would expect judging from the price).Installation is fairly easy. Download the latest Lifecam software from Microsoft, install it, and connect the webcam when it asks you. Compared to VX-5500 video quality is much better, mainly due to the high resolution sensor. Audio quality on the other hand is exactly the same.However the Logitech Pro 9000 offers both better audio and better video. The colors on the Logitech cam are much more lifelike IMO. Color on the Microsoft cam, on the other hand, seem over-saturated (regardless of the TrueColor setting, though leaving it On does brighten the picture up a little). Still, it doesn't look "bad", and I understand that the Pro 9000 was Logitech's flagship cam for a while, so of course it will be better.I would recommend this cam if it was a little cheaper, but at this price I think the HD-5000 would be a better option.

this webcam is a great buy if like me, all you want is to video chat with your family and friends, but you don't care if it's an HD picture. the microphone does pick up some background sound though. my friend sometimes complain they can hear others talking. if you are a picky person and need a HD video, then i wouldn't reccomend this camera, but this is a great basic camera

I have never used a computer camera before so the camera and what it came with was all I know. Now for what I do know is when I open the box this camera has a base that can be formed to be positioned where you like; including on top of a desktop's monitor. The computer is connected to your computer by a USB connection and the software is plug and play. Never having used a Web Cam before this was up and running in no time.As too quality I have nothing to compare it with but those I spoke with said they could hear me fine, I looked naturally lit and they liked the fact they could see my surroundings or when someone was beside me. Also note I did not make any recordings with it so cannot comment on that sort of use and this rating is for this product as a video communication device. So for a novice and first time user I can highly recommend this product.

I recently bought two of these web cams so I could make Skype calls with family. The price is amazing, it's ridiculously easy to plugin and setup, and I love the mount because I can easily place it on a desktop or hook it on top of a monitor. My only complaint is the video quality. I guess I was expecting a little more from a product with "HD" in the title. This is a perfect entry model web cam though with a wide range of uses.
