The Lifecam 5500 is a cute little webcam that's extremely portable and has a nice long cord. It even comes with three different colored faceplates - dark red, blue, white-- so that you can integrate it into your 'look'. Built-in microphone, of course.Technicals:::Size: 1.75-inch-by-1.75-inch squareConnect: Uses a Hi-Speed USB - 4 pin Type AOS: Microsoft Windows Vista , Microsoft Windows XP SP2Min. Processor: 1.8 gHzVGA sensor that captures 640x480 video and still 1.3-megapixel images.Warranty: 3 yearLicense: extensive rights assertionI tested the VX 5500 on an older PC running XP/home. The first thing that I noticed, besides the fact that there seemed to be a lot of packaging, was that there was a tag on the USB that said that the software should be installed before the camera is plugged in.I did NOT, however, follow that advice because I could not agree to the Licensing Agreement. [For more on that, See the Con's.] Instead I just plugged it in and waited to see if the software I had previously loaded for my Gigaware webcam would work. It did. Perhaps it is because I used other drivers that I ran into no installation problem like others have commented on. I just plugged the cam in and it worked.RESULTS:::Pros :::o Plugged right in and worked on our XP Home system.o It works with non-Microsoft drivers.o It worked with Google video chat.o It has a Great stand. You can use it with a laptop or PC. (The Gigaware cam we purchased is only for laptops)o 3D effects (requires software and internet downloads)o It handles dim lighting conditions well. [Contrarily it tends to wash out in bright light.]o Cord length is a nice 6 foot. (Longer than the Gigaware webcam by a foot!)o 3 year WarrantyCons :::o The camera tends to wash out in bright light; it does better in dim light.o Not compatible with Macso Invasive User Agreement (EULA) enables automatic updates and data collection.Generally speaking, this is a nice webcam. It compared favorably with the Gigaware cam and the 5500 dealt with dim light conditions much better. If you are into such things, there are 'fun' 3D effects like hats and what not that you can download.I'm going to give this product 4-Stars because it's reasonably priced and does a good job. HOWEVER, if a draconian EULA bothers you I would recommend the Gigaware Webcam as an alternative. It is roughly the same price, slightly higher resolution and the EULA doesn't give Gigaware unlimited access to your computer.

I got mine in today and installed on a laptop with Windows 7- first thing it did was have a link to the updated drivers/software that installed flawlessly. I plan to use Skype as I'll be in and out of the hospital for a while undergoing chemo and want to use this to video with my granddaughters. After playing with it a bit and its effects, I "called" my daughter in-law and showed the grandkids just how goofy their grandpa can be with all the effects you can superimpose over your picture, quite funny actually.Video is good, sound is good, installation was a breeze and for the money it's a very good webcam to use for either business or pleasure.Remember, with Win 7 download and install the update FIRST for this to work right on your system.

This video cam was very easily to install and operate. However, the video portions after adjustment was jumpy and somewhat in slow motion. even after adjustments. The audio was fine.

I sent this cam to my mother. She is not technically inclined and had a friend with some knowledge install this for her. Works fine with just Windows 7 driver and skype so now we can talk face to face!

I use the webcam so I can talk with my daughter who is away at college. It was easy to install & easy to use. We use it mainly for phone calls, even though its packed with features that allow you to do so much more. Great resolution and sound quality considering how inexpensive it was.

this webcam is really simple to install and the microphone works great. My primary use is to keep in touch with family and friends, and this webcam does the job. It is not the best picture quality in the world, but it is more than good enough for the average person trying to do the same. I have bought 3 of these webcams and given them to the rest of my family once I found out how well they work.

I like how it fits tightly on the monitor, has a good mic and picture quality is pretty good in a good light. Only thing I don't like is that the "live" button only works with windows live messenger which I don't want to install.

This webcam is very small and folds flat. It's a great idea for travelling with a laptop when you want to keep in touch with your Paltalk friends.Pros:Picture quality is excellent (see Cons).No focus needed. The depth of field is 21 inches to around 60 inches which is a great trend for the webcam product segment.UVC support so you don't need a driver unless you want extra features.Works in Linux due to UVC support.Cool blue LED and interchangeable faceplates.Hand-waving latency is very low (see Cons).Cons:Even with USB 2.0 the hand waving latency is very low but the frames per second is way less than 30.Fast movement will blur your image which is something I did not expect. This doesn't happen on comparable Logitech or even the older Lifecams.Your computer does all of the processing so it will slow down your computer a little bit more than the prior generation of Lifecams did.A word about the fixed focus: the depth of field ends at 60 inches, not infinity. It's not suitable for monitoring a room or objects that are more than 60 inches away. It's intended to sit on your screen or desk.The cable is thick and puts so much weight on the camera it pulls the camera off your screen if you're not careful.Due to the poor motion support this camera is not worth the money. This camera does not compare well to the cheap, generic UVC models I got at my favorite local computer store.

Camera was easy to set up and get running. I did have to uninstall and reinstall but I think I was more my fault for having too much junk on my computer. I bought one for myself and one for my in-laws. They had some trouble with their microphone but other than that the camera works great.The picture quality is what you would expect. Not great but it works for what I need it to do. I would recommend this product.

Many of the advertised features work only with MICROSOFT MESSENGER, they will not function with other messenger/phone programs. Without these advertised features it's just another plain web cam that could be purchased at half the price!

So I got two of these, and would get two more in a heartbeat. My theory was, that using the same cameras on both ends of the transmission would improve the picture and video/sound quality.......IT IS LIKE THE PEOPLE ARE IN THE NEXT ROOM!!! Clarity WAY beyond other web cams, and the sound is great also. This used with Microsoft Messenger is the BOMB!!! Now we can call and see our grandson/daughter and they love it too......The settings on the camera are also very nice, with the video capture and the still capture.....you can also "up" the resolution to a FULL 8 MPXL and have an excellent picture. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to reconnect with family and/or friends........

To Perspective LifeCam buyers,I never received this item. After two weeks of not receiving this item as a gift for my parents, I contacted customer service. They sent me a quick response stating that they would investigate the issue. A month after purchasing the camera, they sent me a refund with no explanation as to why I never received the camera. Nor did they offer an apology or another camera in exchange. I was not impressed!!

I had to replace my not-so-old Logitech webcam with something new, since it did not work under 64-bit Vista. The VX-7000 does work with 64-bit Vista, and was the highest quality camera Microsoft offered that would attach to my desktop monitor. (The supposedly higher resolution NX-6000 has a much smaller monitor connector, designed for notebook-thickness screens, but also boasts a better picture.)I installed the camera easily, the only issue being that the CD did not autoplay and I had to run the setup manually from the disc.The software that comes with the camera is limited to drivers and a very simple "Playskool-like" camera recording program, with the cartoony buttons and foolish animated cartoon overlay features that you would use if you were a pre-teen sneaking video calls with friends. As a business user (teleconferencing with co-workers around the world) this software was useless.I did not install the Microsoft Messenger software, which supposedly gives more conference options, because I am quite happy with other software I use for that purpose. It is disappointing that the included software doesn't allow you to easily (if at all - I can't find the option) set settings for the camera while you're using it from applications that can't control things like resolution or zoom.The reason I bought this camera was to get the highest quality picture possible, having been disappointed with general webcam quality in the past. The quality of this camera is no better than what you would expect from something you can buy at a toy store. The resolution may be higher, but the picture is unacceptably grainy.The quality of color in the picture and its ability to work well in low-light situations is much better than other cameras, but the quality of the picture is still low enough that you can tell it was recorded from a webcam. Why as clear of a picture can't be taken from an external camera as from any of Apple's notebook cameras mystifies me.Setting the actual resolution of the video higher causes the camera to compensate by lowering the framerate, resulting in very grainy large videos that are visibly choppy.The audio pickup of the camera is nice, although I have yet to figure out how to control the gain directly in applications outside of the capture program that comes with it. It seems to be a "telescopic" type microphone, and very cleanly separates out room noise that it does not point at. That is, you have to aim the camera at your head for it to pick up your voice. Anything outside that cylinder will not be picked up as well.One great thing that might be overlooked about many cameras is that when this camera is recording, a bright blue (why blue and not red?) light turns on on its face. This is very reassuring to know that you are not being recorded when you don't want to be.In all, the drawbacks of this camera are similar to any other camera on the market, and the higher resolution capabilities of the camera allow the lower resolution to work better in low-light than others. The audio is an interesting bonus, and the included software is typically sub-expectations. This camera is probably better than many others simply because the others are so much worse.A company that could produce a non-grainy picture in reasonable room light would make a killing in this market, but that camera cannot be found here.

Don't waste your money. This cheap webcam lost it's microphone is less than 2 months. It has an awkward clip for laptops and is generally typical of microsoft's crappy products.

This camera doesn't come in a retail box it's a bulk but still very good for it's price. I got the blue screen several times when I first installed it.. after googling I've found a tip that removing it from the startup programs using 'msconfig' will solve the problem and that did it. Good quality image and the microphone sounds very good too. This was tested on a Windows XP machine using Skype and MS Live Messanger.

First, let me say, I was impressed when I gave this product a try. The video conversations I've had so far have been fairly clear (to the people I'm talking to, my friends unfortunately do not have a LifeCam :)) and I sound normal enough to them on the other end.I'm not really good when it comes to understanding video quality or sound quality other than the notion of it being either decent or completely crap but for this product I definitely found the recorded sound and video to be adequate in regards to my needs.Face plates were an interesting addition. Personally I think it's kind of tacky to dress up your electronics but in this case they looked fairly decent so I had no room to complain. I very much like the look of this little guy though and even with the tacky webcam clothing I find it to be pretty stylish. The idea of the webcam being able to fold up was also an interesting decision because while it already doesn't take up much space it fits in well with my other USB devices now perfectly.I found the software bundled with the package to be unnecessary (as much as I want my friends to see videos of me with weird effects it's not why I care for this camera) but I definitely see the advantage of having it if you're interested in that. Most users buying this camera, I'd think, should just consider the other bonuses of it over it though given you likely bought it for the combination of microphone and camera.Which leads me to the greatest part of this little guy! Microphone and Camera in one! I have had several webcams previously and while they usually work well I tend to have the worst luck when it comes to buying separate microphones to have webcam conversations with. It definitely simplifies the equation considerably. The only downside I can imagine is that given it comes with a microphone, it's a shame you can't somehow separate the two or use the item as a stand alone mic for video gaming but that's hardly a real issue given this is a webcam.I highly suggest this little guy.

I admit that I have not used a webcam in many years. This one was relatively easy to set up, and I use it on Skype to talk with family. The image quality is just mediocre, but perhaps my expectations were too high. I plan on getting another one which hopefully has clearer images.

the product is not working to my standards...I asked to exchange it and the supplier said I could contact Microsoft directly...I am not happyIt didn't work with Skype which is why I purchased itit would freeze and not always turn onI am waiting for Microsoft to contact me with a return email...I am not happy with the supplier

I really like the camera and the video and sound quality is very good. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't come with any drivers. That is not bad mind you because you can download them from Microsoft before installing the camera. I think also that if you just plug it, Microsoft will download the updates for you. The software is nothing like Logitechs but it works without the extras.

I purchased this webcam based on good reviews listed. I have Windows XP (SP2) and I had the same issues as another reviewer with XP who said it 'stalled' their computer and they thought maybe it was their internet service. That's what I thought because my computer kept shutting down - just on its own. A local computer service company (took a different computer from my office for service, not the one I had the Lifecam hooked up to) advised me this is a common problem with Windows XP and MSN Live and Lifecam. I uninstalled MSN Live and still had the shutting down problem. Unplugged the Lifecam - still the shutting down. Then I uninstalled Lifecam completely ~~~~ no more shutting down problem. It could just be an XP/Lifecam incompatibility issue or not. However, since completely uninstalling Lifecam - my computer works just as good as it did before I installed it. Also, my computer service guy advised me not to install Service Pack 3 on my Windows XP system or I would probably experience the same shutting down problem except you cannot uninstall SP3 - just a tidbit for XP users. Hope this helps someone else -it really was a waste of my money even though it said XP compatible.

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this product. I was just looking for a web cam that would do the job, I wasn't trying to find the highest end one there is, but it does what I need it to. The thing about it is that you can't really do much else on your computer while you're doing a video chat or else the video quality gets really pixelized and lags a lot too. But as long as you don't browse the web while you chat it works fine, it even has some pretty neat features too. It's a good not so pricey option for a web cam.

I bought this webcam to replace an extremely old (circa 1999) Logitech WebCam. Some of the other reviews here indicate that this webcam is junk, but I am very happy with it. Here's a few observations with respect to my own use and some of what I've read in other reviews here.o Video Quality - I have no problem with it and have yet to have any "freezes". My guess is that freezes are more associated with network latency. I have not tried this over a LAN (very high speed local), but over a cable modem that is 7MBit down, 384k up. You have to take that into account before you blame the webcam. My 384k up is not very fast, for a cable modem, but that's Time Warner for you. Up north (NY/CT area), my peers enjoy 3Mbit upstream! Ugh!o Software Install Location- Another reviewer brought this up. Who cares? This isn't a 4GB first person shooter, it's a few megs of drivers that mostly need to go under the windows folder anyhow. Non-issue.o Software Install "eXPerience" - glad to say I had no issues. Install the software, plug in the camera when it asks, and I was good to go. I'm running XP Pro on a 3GHz "single core" (old school? heh) CPU.o Application Compatibility - It's working great with both Windows Live Messenger and Skype (latest version, 3.8.0.115).o Built-In Mic - This was a nice surprise for me. I recently purchased a SUB Logitech ClearChat Pro headset, but the built-in mic of this webcam lets me be headset free. I ask everyone I videochat with, can you hear me okay? (Answer: Yes), and do you hear feedback or your voice? (Answer: No). So I am very pleased. Of course, you can set Windows Live Messenger and Skype to use a headset microphone or other device, you don't have to use the built-in mic.o "The Software" - Okay, the software that comes with the webcam is very basic. But if you want something better, you can get it for free from Microsoft. XP has "Windows Movie Maker" built in, you don't NEED to use the webcam software. Or go install the Windows Media Encoder, that's another free option. I've used both no problem.In summary, I am very pleased with the performance of the VX-7000. You can record video at 640x480 or 800x600 without problem, and that's pretty good in my opinion. After all, 800x600 is better resolution than DVD video (720x480). If you need more, I don't think you should be looking at a webcam! I think, bottom line, this product is meant for and good at its intended use - video chatting over the internet. I would buy this again.

I have another web can that was 4 times the cost of the Microsoft LifeCam VX-5500. The VX-5500 not only has better picture its easier to use. We love it .We bought it so we could see our Grandson who lives in Indiana its a 6 hr. drive but its seconds with our webcam. We can tell him goodnight and blow kisses often. Its WONDERFUL.Thank You MICROSOFT for this great product.

I bought this camera because I needed for may daily work. When I installed by first time on my Acer TravelMate 5440 Athlon x2 Laptop on XP. I feel completely disappointed, camera was flashing and freezing all the time, without mentioning overheating. I thought It was a software problem, so I downloaded and installed drivers and codecs from Microsoft site. However the problem was not resolved. Afterwards, I intalled this cammera on a Compaq nc8000 with Intel Centrino processor and worked fine. Although I'm using this camera at work. My clients alwasy complaint about noise. In conlusion, Be aware of this camera if you ar using a Athlon x2 Pro, you might feel frustrated and disaapointed. you were adviced!

I'll preface this by saying I use a macbook with built in camera 95% of the time, however I still have a Dell running XP in my basement that my daughter uses for computer games and I use with a lifecam vx-3000 to video chat with my father who lives across the country (he can't seem to get skype to work so I can't use my mac). I dislike needing to adjust the focus with the 3000 and the coloring in my fairly dark basement is always terrible so I thought I'd give this a try.WOW!!! I had to play with the settings a bit but again WOW the picture is perfectly clear, very very nice color even in the dimly lit basement and the autofocus is wonderful. I did NOT install the disk, I figured I already had drivers from my 3000 and wasn't interested in all the "extras" as that computer is older and slow enough already, I just wanted a solid good working video cam and that's what I got with this! As a note since I didn't use the install disk it shows up on my computer as "USB video device" and isn't listed as a VX-5500 but all the settings are there and it works perfectly.One thing I'm not impressed with, which is irrelevant to how the camera works, is how it looks. It feels to "I want to be a mac product" to me, my 3000 is black and silver, black cord.. it all but disappears on top of my black flat screen monitor. This little silver guy stands out, if it had a black faceplate and cord it would be a bit better... the faceplate I can fix with some spraypaint but the white cord is a bit painful up against my dark desk... oh well.This works so wonderfully that I'm ordering one for my computer illiterate mother so we can chat with her actually in focus for once :)Great product!

Installed on older ASUS 8N-E based comupter with 3gb ram running Windows 7 Home Premium. Works good in low light and slightly back lit situations. My kids use it to talk to friends that have moved out of state. Works very well. Definately recommended.My kids love the software that lets you add hats bunny ears etc... to your image live. Pretty funny.

I'm very frustrated by this highly rated camera from Microsoft. Despite Microsoft's saying this camera is compatible with Windows 7 64 bit, I couldn't get it to work at all. I'm not happy and am returning it and trying a different camera. It's too bad, because everyone else I know who got one had no trouble getting it to work.

I'm a casual user of Skype, not a regular user. A webcam is an occasional need, not part of a daily regimen.I installed the VX-5500 on an x64 Win Server 2008. (This is an improbable platform for a webcam, but this happens to be the machine I own that has a headset with noise-canceling mic). It is important for the software to be installed first, and Microsoft even has a sticker over the USB plug. A good idea.So, yes, be prepared to add one more device to your USB hub.The application on the DVD downloads more from the internet after loading a bootstrap application. The version I tested was Microsoft Lifecam 2.04.Unfortunately, it's not compatible with Microsoft's server products (and indeed the server operating systems are not on the System Requirements list). This means I cannot review the "Video Email" capability of Microsoft's software at this time.However, Skype works on the server, so I plugged in the webcam and tried to use it. The device worked the first time with Skype without any difficulty.The webcam is quite small, fully portable and has three colored rings to customize the appearance on your monitor. (Sorry, no gamer-style irridescent colors).Not tested, but there is a nice looking companion headset and speaker combination. Search for Microsoft ZX-6000.GREEN PACKAGING / SUSTAINABILITY ratings 1 and ? (unreadable). The packaging wasn't well labeled so I could what could be recycled locally and what couldn't (needs to be plastic #1 or #2).I had a little trouble figuring out how the flat screen mount swings out, but that could just be me. This is a nice, small webcam that installed painlessly and works well. After installation, I launched Skype, which was able to access the webcam immediately. The microphone works better than some webcams, picking up my voice cleanly from the top of my monitor. The video was as good as any webcam I've seen. There's not much else to say about the basics. (tested on a Windows XP Pro laptop).However, what I like about this one is the mechanical or product design. The swivel base is very cleverly designed to unfold like a paper clip and fit securely over the top of your laptop or flat screen monitor. It has grippy rubber and flat edges in all the right places to hold it in place. It will also fold down flat to work on a desk or on the top of a CRT-that's how the product photo shows it. Little details like these make this product a pleasure to use, rather than a drag. Watch out: Some other webcams have simple flat bases, that don't work at all on the thin top edge of laptops or flat screens.When you are done, the whole thing collapses into a flat package with a cord coming out the back, which is easy to transport in a pocket. This is much nicer than the spherical webcams, which are awkward to carry that way. This is a minor point, but it shows the care that went into the product design of this model.I have yet to find any webcam that creates as good a picture as a camcorder. I do realize that camcorders cost several times as much as webcams. If I ever get that image quality from a webcam, I will give it five stars. This one ranks four stars because it does everything else as well or better than other webcams I've tried. It actually deserves 4 and a half (but not quite 5!)

So simple to install. Up and running within minutes. This is a great little web cam for any desk top or older lap top without an integrated camera. Picture and video quality is better than expected.

I got two of these over a year ago, one for my father and the other for me to communicate using Skype. I work in IT so my issues isn't through the lack of knowing what I'm doing. I set my father's camera up for him when I was in GB visiting and tried using it with Skype to communicate with my wife, and it was terrible. The video quality was poor and it made the audio poor to match. I switch off the camera and the audio was still poor and remained poor until I uninstalled it. Re the software, in true Microsoft (MS) form, it is Massive, taking up loads of MB of HDD space and it forces you to load to the C drive with no option to place it on another drive. It tries to access the internet all the time and send data I assume back to MS. Maybe part of my problem was that I blocked it from doing this, but either way, it isn't MS place to force customers to give up information even about usage and the cam was not good for the purpose intended. On getting back home I found that even after uninstalling the software, some parts were left and I had to go through the Windows Reg and manually edit the reg to stop it from messing the system up. I ended up buying 2 Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000's, more expensive but I got a deal when they were on special at Fry's. The Logitech QuickCam Pro is a far higher end cam, with a Zeiss lens and autofocus. Logitech give the option to load just the driver, or to load a very comprehensive suite of applications; I went with just the driver for my purpose and kept it simple. You get the choice, and it isn't constantly trying to access the internet taking up your PC's resources and slowing things down. I have only used it a bit with Skype, but it was great when I have. Steer clear of Microsoft cameras, and if you must use one, check what resources are being used and how much it is trying to send out on the Internet when you don't know!

This is the first webcam I have ever used, so I have nothing to compare it to. But so far it works just fine.Let me say that I did not install the software that came with the unit. After reading the other customer reviews as well as the instruction manual, I decided I did not want to deal with having a bunch of invasive and/or annoying programs being loaded on my computer just so I could use a webcam. Instead, I downloaded Skype. First I downloaded and installed Skype. Then I plugged the webcam into one of my USB ports. Vista recognized and installed it right away. Then I went back into Skype, which also recognized my new webcam and I changed my settings to make the webcam the default video and microphone device.Considering the compact size of this product (it is a small square and very thin), I am quite pleased. The video quality is good - everything is easily recognizable - and so is the audio quality. I tested the audio using Skype's test call feature and the playback sounds fine. It is obvious it is me speaking, and the volume is more than adequate.I also like the versatile stand feature - you can either fold down the stand for use on your desk, or fold it so that it hangs off the top of the monitor.For this review, my 5 stars is for product quality as well as compatibility with Skype. I did not try it with the software that comes with it so I can't comment on any special features like masks, etc., or how well the software works. I like to keep things as simple as possible and for the purpose I would be using this for, this product works very well.

I bought two of these. One for me and the other for my parents. I use vista64 and this prodcut is certified for that. I went to insall in on my parent's computer but we are still having software issues. The product works good. I will have to go on the help line soon.

This is very easy to install and use. You can install the drivers included with the CD, but I recommend that you install the latest ones from the Microsoft website (currently at v2.04). Also, make sure you install the drivers before connecting the camera.The image quality is amazing. The autofocus works great, so you don't have to adjust the focus every time you change position.Software integration is good. The webcam works best with Live Messenger (obviously, since they are both developed by Microsoft), but other programs, such as Skype or Yahoo Messenger, work fine as well. I have found that the picture quality is better on Live Messenger, however the video is smoother in Skype (especially when either user has a slower internet connection). This is probably due to Skype downscaling the image quality in order to make the experience smoother, while Live Messenger keeps the image at the highest quality at all times. I haven't used Yahoo Messenger much, but I did test it in there and it works.The integrated microphone is extremely convenient as well. It captures my voice even when I am talking from another room, and the sound quality is perfect.Overall, I highly recommend it.

We have this camera in our living room connected to a 64bit Vista machine running Media Center. We use the camera for videoconferencing with relatives on different sides of the planet *and* for entertaining the kids.The picture quality is excellent. The camera has great resolution and is able to capture at decent frame rates. The defaults work well out of the box in our home environment (no need to fiddle with the controls, but they do exist). The software also has the nifty ability to zoom and pan, which it can do because the image is large.The LifeCam 2.0 software available from www.microsoft.com/hardware is simply amazing. It can be used to entertain kids locally or applied to videoconferencing transmissions. The software detects heads in the image and adds in 3D objects, e.g. hats, facemasks, animal faces, and it can add real-time distortions like grow-mouth; and then there are filter effects that change color and texture; and all the cool stuff from v1 of the software. It has our our pre-schoolers and their friends rolling around with laughter.There are some rumblings in other reviews here about not being able to capture large pictures in high frame rates but it can do 640x480@30fps which is better than TV.We had some issues with image tearing, but that turned out to be due to the USB controller on the motherboard and could happen to any USB webcam. We bought a PCI card with some extra USB ports on and it fixed the problem.For comparison, I should mention we own two Macs and have iSight cameras, one external and one integrated into a MacBook Pro. The image quality between the iSights and this camera is indistinguishable and until now I'd have said the iSight's were the best cameras around. The LifeCam software raises the bar on Apple's Photo Booth App, which applies basic filtering to the image, but doesn't do anything as smart as the 3D additions.

The camera is very good but the software that came with it was outdated. It was necessary for me to go to Microsoft web and download an up to date version of the software. It should be suggested to anyone purchasing this camera to do the same. It works much better with the new version of the software.
