Good head for my Fuji XT2 video setup. Works well with my 190 tripod legs. Smooth and reassuringly solid. Would trust with a DSLR rig but Probably not so good for larger, heavier camcorder. Horses for courses I guess.

The perfect solution for me as a wedding videographer! Needed a sturdy durable tri-pod for a DSLR to sit on top during ceremony/speeches but also stick my edlerkrone slider on top for some nice slide shots! Can't see why you would fork all that extra money for the carbon one when this is so light especially in the bag over one arm.
To take the head off there are three screws just underneath the head which takes literally 1 min to remove and vice versa.

It doesn't.
And it doesn't have a quick release either. Take it back please.

Absolutely brilliant construction, super smooth and no resistance at the start of a pan. Bought from Amazon's warehouse deals for cheaper and it said it had slight cosmetic damage at the front and I've examined it extensively and I can't see any at all! RESULT. If you're like me and looking for a replacement video fluid head from something like a rubbish velbon one, aren't fussed about drag adjustment (It's really how good you are behind the camera that makes a smooth pan or tilt) and don't want to break the bank I would highly recommend this.

The product delivered an excellent mount for the camera to the tripod, unfortunately it did not come with the two additional items shown in the photo.

Very pleased with this head, worked a treat for a recent video shoot using my Canon 5D mk3. Nice smooth actions and easy to make slight adjustments to the level of friction, or to lock off completely. Great build quality and great value.

Is what it is if I'm honest, without it your tripod it's useless! Relatively cheap for what they are and also given that you have no choice but to buy them. Sturdy, well made and more than capable of supporting heavy lenses if connected to the tripod collar, it will work directly to the camera, but it's never advisable to have so much forward weight on cameras lens coupling.

Great little head I use with a monopod and tripod. Small and lightweight. Have been using Manfrotto for years and does the job great. My kit is getting lighter and this head is perfect addition.

Seems pricey but I tried a so-called compatible version from another manufacturer at lower price and it just wobbles in the fixing plate. Handy to have several of these particularly if switching lens mounts/cameras for different perspectives. Got two of these and they work fine.

As a recreation amateur I usually loathed to spend lots of money of kit. This seemed reasonable and is certainly an upgrade to any other head I own. It is a chunky head and quite heavy but the motion in all directions is smooth. Like other I have the issue with balancing the camera but I hardly notice it now.

I wanted an extra plate so that I could use two bodies easily with my 294 monopod. I read reviews that said some alternatives don't fit so well and might not hold your camera as steady, so I bought the real thing. I've just done a day's photo workshop using the monopod a lot and swapped bodies time many times, and yes, this plate certainly worked just as it should.

Excellent tripod. Big improvement on earlier model now with an elevating central column which is great for fast height adjustment. Not sure about the plate arrangement: another case of change for change's sake? Takes a while to get used to compared to the 'slide-in' type. Or is it just me?

Strong sturdy Video Head for smooth video.
This is a very stable and fluid video head.
Pros
1. Built from machined Aluminium and steel. Very solidly made.
2. The tilt and pan action are butter smooth.
3. Auto spring for tilt. You need to centre your camera and you can tilt your camera and the head will automatically spring it back smoothly. It's called counter balancing.
4. Quick release is very strong and secure.
5. The pan handle is very long and you can control the speed of pan very smoothly without any jarring jerks.
Cons
1. Very heavy (about a kilo) and bulky. With this head attached to MT055XPRO3 055 tripod this is not a travel tripod.
I've been using it for about 3 weeks.
Highly recommended for heavy DSLRs (I use it with Nikon D7000).

As I expected, beautifully smooth and silky action in both axes. Only downside is the my camera (FZ2000) is maybe a touch too light in weight to take full advantage the MVH500AH head.

About the product -
this is my first video tripod, bought it to use on my benro tripod legs..and it worked fine, absolutely good for video panning, tilt, esp at this price range...had done several videos and I've no problem with it, except that I need little more practice to have more smooth pan to tilt to pan shots.
I'm attaching a sample video for your reference, note I"d almost have more than a decade experience in photography + video but this video head can be helpful even if you are a novice photo/video person..
however, I'd faced an unexpected problem!..in fact it is the only problem I had with this FH, solved later but I think I should share it so it can be helpful...
to get into details, the Video head stuck with tripod and was not coming out of it, despite hours of attempts...I'd to go through several forums, few videos(not many found on youtube)!...still couldn't fix..the VH keeps moving but not able to unscrew from tripod legs!...
this is what I did to unscrew, but in-vain(of course, these are also the basic ways you need to follow to remove a fluid-head from tripod) :
1) open in anti-clockwise direction
2) tried different angles - rightangle, reverse etc..
3) Tightened the panning knob, put all my strength to open it, still no use..
4) removed the three screw nuts that are at the bottom of the head(3 screws are parts of tripod 4th/center column), the manfrotto video head keeps rotating on the tripod but not able to unscrew!!..
This was how it finally worked:
1) kept back the 3 screws the Tripod center column comes with & completely tighten the three set screws from the bottom of the mounting plate.
2) used pliers to completely tighten the panning knob, rather with hand.
3) Turned the manfrotto video-head by placing it inside the tripod, with some extra force in anti-clockwise direction.
4) It finally worked, and the fluid head came out from the tripod legs.
tips -
1) follow tripod legs and manfrotto video head instructions before connecting or removing. I didn't remove the tripod screws rather directly inserted the fluid head, please don't do this way!
2) wrap the panning wheel/knob with some cloth while trying to use pliers.
3) don't completely turn/tighten fluid head assuming to perfectly fit inside with the tripod legs, rather rotate it until the head rests up against the tripod then tighten with the screws the tripod plate comes with, ie from the bottom.
About Amazon & the Seller:
I'd to place replacement order on the first Order, as the first Fluid head had Manfrotto logo missing + the video head's fluid is leaking out from the right side wall, which I felt bit disappointing, but Amazon customer support was so helpful that they immediately took my note and with no further questions initiated the replacement process.. The second one was in good condition, totally new, nothing missing, though it delayed a bit, I was happy with the follow-up service esp with the website track order feature..

I needed this to fix to my wife's pochade box so it could be mounted on a tripod for plein air painting. The important difference between this Plate and the standard one, supplied with the tripod, is that there are three holes which can be used to bolt it directly to the box. It's proved a great success.

ITs a good head. Dont get me wrong. however, i bought this with the intention of using it with my slider. Not good for that. The counter balance system and unwanted restriction. However, when its on my Light weight Manfrotto tripod, its great

Well what can I say, I now completely get it why Manfrotto has such a reputation amongst Tripod gear.
This is the second tripod gear I am buying and I must say, I wish I had invested on a manfrotto earlier.
I have purchased a Manfrotto MVH500AH fluidhead along with a Manfrotto MT190XPRO4 tripod legs. And this combination is a beast of a setup.
Everything feels so premium and works so well. The fluid head system is so smooth while panning and I am completely blown away with the quality I felt while using this product.
I highly recommend you all to somehow invest into MANFROTTO if you are planning to buy a tripod. Yes they are a bit expensive for an average Indian, but trust me, this is worth the investment. I am pretty sure that I will never have to buy another tripod anytime soon.
Just go for it.

I bought this to repair an old tripod with a worn out head. This is a Beautiful quality head, at a reasonable price, enabling smooth panning etc.
