Amazing head for the price.
Manfrotto never disappoints when it comes to providing their customers with the best head in the market. This particular head is perfect as the up and down motion is very fluid and has the perfect amount of drag for almost any size of equipment. However, the drag is not adjustable, it's either smooth motion or no motion and i think we all can agree that a head is no good without some motion. However, if you are expecting fast up and down and side to side (tilt and pan) motion, you might be disappointed. But i would recommend that you pay a little more and get the Italian head instead of any other cheapo head as their motion never match the smooth and pleasing motion of an Italian head.
P.S. you can remove the counterbalance spring if you have a light camera like a mirrorless or DSLR. It'll make the head drupe when tilted but it's much less annoying and much more useful than a spring pushing back.

I'm using it for 2 years now and it's all been good! It's very steady and I love the bag. It's better if you add a fluid video head.

This makes getting the camera on and off the tripod very easy. It is a standard Manfrotto accessory and should fit many different heads. I bought this at the same time as a BeFree Tripod as I wasn't sure if the Tripod had a quick release plate. It had. So now I have 2 Quick Release plates if I only had 2 cameras!!

Does a great job balancing the camera and once you get the hang of it you can get some amazing fluid shots. You can control the amount of tilt on this model but the amount of pan cannot be controlled. If that is important go for the 502AH model. The counter balance is amazing , the build quality is unbeatable but well its expensive so thats a given.

Either i am doing something wrong, or the plate I received was poorly manufactured. The plate did not fit my tripod well. When clipping in, the locking clip has to be forced shut rather than it automatically locking in when the plate is pushed down.

Very sturdy and balanced head
MVH500AH I received this today and the over all build of the product is quite good. The balancing is very nice. Simple to put together. The tilt is very smooth but the pan seems to be a bit tight. Maybe I have to get used to it yet, so will update it after a few videos.
One star less because the quick release screws were in a plastic bag with the manual and unsealed. It was missing the rubber plug cap on the quick release.

Got it replaced
The first item had while fluid leaking out from inner right wall. Got it replaced immediately. The replaced head is good. Smooth operating. Little bit heavy. So you will need a sturdy tripod. Works well on slider. Impressed with the performance.

Good product but little expensive
Manfrotto is always good, there is never a doubt about their product line.
I think little expensive considering my requirement for a Sony bridge camera and my newly bought iPhone.

Great Videohead
Excellent product..... finally its Manfretto. Only issue observed is the lever to lock/un-lock QR plate is flimsy and I do not have any confidence that it will last long. Really need to be careful handling the same.

Luckily I heard that the Manfrotto tripod I had bought didn't come with a quick release plate, so I bought this one. It is excellent quality and compatible with the Manfrotto MKBFRA4D-BH Befree Compact Tripod that I bought (which is also excellent), so I highly recommend it.

Eimage gh03 is much better than this
The resistance drag on the pan is useless for slow panning , impossible to avoid small operating jerks. Bought the eimage eg03 which is way better and has a variable tilt drag with set optimum pan drag.

Great buy
Perfect with my Celestron Regal M2 80mm scope. Balances so well even while digiscoping, thanks to the movable plate. It is a little heavy, weighing at 0.9 kgs, but makes up for it with stability and sturdiness. It was never meant to be used as a travel kit anyway.

Larger than my original plates that fit my 488RC2 head meaning there's no solid engage and click. Will my gear be safe? Not at all sure so I'll be returning this.
