Although I use full sized audio gear for my computer and home theater audio needs, I still had a desire to utilize some smaller speakers to enhance the audio quality of a television in my home. I originally planned to buy a simple 2.1 channel speaker system, also made by Logitech, but received an opportunity to test and review this set of Logitech Z506 Surround Sound Speakers instead. So while I did not need or even intend to install a 5.1 channel speaker system to my bedroom TV, I later decided to use all of the speakers in this kit, to provide a more room filling sound.The Z506 speaker system arrived undamaged, and I was happy to see that Logitech did a great job with packaging this product. The bass (subwoofer) module contains the 75-watt multi-channel amplifier, and includes a host of inputs, which will allow stereo or 5.1 surround connections to a computer, a video game system, a DVD player, or just about any audio device you can think of. The only outputs included are for the speakers that come in the kit. Setting up this system really couldn't be much easier. The biggest problem for me was deciding where to place the speakers, since they are not wall mountable. The speaker cables are fairly restrictive, so you can't place them very far away from the bass module. It is unfortunate that Logitech didn't choose to use regular speaker wire for all but the main speaker with the power button and volume knob. Then every consumer would have the option to install longer cables if they so desired. But as it stands, the cables for this system are built-in, so you have to live with the length restrictions. The front speaker wires are approximately 6 and ? feet in length. The center channel speaker cable is a little over 8 and ? long. The rear (surround) speaker cables are a little over 16 feet long. So as you can see, the cables are too short to moves\ the speakers very far apart, and route the cables so that they are out of sight. But for my circumstances it ended up working out just fine. The Z506 kit also comes with 3.5 mm, and six channel direct audio cables. It does not include a basic stereo RCA patch cable.So I started out planning to use just the main left and right channel speakers. However, I then thought I would clip the center channel speaker to the top of the TV, to add more sound. Well after I did that I decided to utilize the rear, surround speakers as well, and just place them further away from the front L & R speakers. So basically I have all 5 speakers setup as front speakers. It looks a little silly with all of those little speakers sitting along that side of my bedroom, but I don't typically show other people that room of the house anyway. I had pre-adjusted the bass module volume to about 2/3 level, so as the TV was playing audio through the tiny little speakers inside the TV bezel itself, I pushed in the power button on the Logitech Z506 speaker system. The sound instantly sprang to life, filling my room with a glorious full bodied sound. The bass is more than adequate for basic television watching, though I doubt it would suffice for a full home theater experience in the living room or family room. Treble from the satellite speakers is a little subdued, but not lacking to the point of creating and unsatisfactory sound. It was if this speaker system was built specifically for my need, to enhance the LCD television audio in the master bedroom.I really have few complaints about this speaker system. I don't think it would do well at extremely high volumes, but for TV watching, video game playing, and music listening all at moderate volume levels, I think this is a fantastic all-in-one speaker system. I wish the cables were a bit longer, and that the bass adjustment was on the master speaker (with the power button and volume knob) instead of on the bass module itself. But these are just minor quibbles. I would normally say that a remote control for volume would be a nice touch, but thankfully my television has a variable audio output, so I can leave the speakers at a set volume and adjust the sound level with my TV remote. Considering the low cost of the Z506 surround speaker system, I think you get a whole lot for your money. I guess only time will tell how hold up over the years, but I have had them up and running for over 4 months now, and they still work perfectly and sound great. I think Logitech did a great job designing this system, and I highly recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a small, self amplified, 5.1 channel speaker system. Even if you think you only need a 2.1 channel system, you may find that the extra 3 speakers will help to broaden the sound and make the listening experience even more enjoyable; just like I did.

I actually bought these in person at a Best Buy near my house on the recommendation of the reviews here, which all made it seem like a decent setup for the price.My first warning should have been that the test buttons in the computer speaker section were all off except for the Bose display, perhaps because had I heard them in store, I might not have wasted my money.Listening to these things after the arduous process of setting them up was really anticlimactic. I had spent a good half hour cutting and dealing with the various different packagings and what I got was.....just not worth while. I thought at first maybe I hooked them up wrong or positioned them in an ineffective way, so I rearranged and tried again, and it still felt like something was just...weak about them.First off, the back speakers barely do anything at any volume, and more often than not just sound like static or are so unsubstantial that it isn't even worth having them hooked upThe front speakers are....OK. Depending on what you have playing through them they are decent most of the time.I tested them with various different types of music and sounds, ranging from some harder rock with Deftones, to some classic old school Hip Hop like 90's Jay-Z, to bass-ier electronic music like Glitch Mob.I will say that the Subwoofer is actually decent, on the Bassier tracks it handled itself pretty well, particularly Dead Presidents by Jay-Z. But anything Acoustic sounds like absolute garbage.Another issue was I guess the Dynamics. I recall listening to Nepala Sunday by Glitch Mob when I noticed this. The very begining of the song sounds amazing over these speakers. Absolutely brilliant. For a moment I had hope for these things after all. But once it hit that drop of the main beat, then I feel like most of that strength dropped out, almost as if it had been overwhelmed and was only playing what it could handle. It just felt...weak. And the worst thing was, the subwoofer kept up with the song perfectly, so it had a ton of nice sounding bass to make the problem of the lackluster normal speakers seem even worse, almost highlighting the issue.So basically, this is just a really nice Subwoofer packaged with a bunch of crappy speakers. Honestly, it would be more approprate to package this with only the front 3 speakers and Subwoofer and sell it for $40 tops. It is ABSOLUTELY not worth the $80 I paid for it, and I will definately be taking this back to the store tommarow. I invested that much money expecting a product that would deliver, not this mediocre disgrace. I would recommend that anyone looking at these things either buy a regular cheap 3 speaker setup, or save their money for something more reputable. As I learned, there is no middle ground.

Rather setting up a system that is 1000 watts or just small as 75 watts you still need to have the patient time to tweak your system to its best potential. Any sound system needs patience and time to tweak and research on where to place every speaker. THX has a great site on where to place your sub, speakers and rear speakers. I had one little issue on where to put my subwoofer. I couldn't find exactly where to put it so I just placed it on my desk. All of a sudden my sound system was choked of bass and it was just mids and highs and no booming deeps. I then researched and found out that it is better to place your sub on the floor near a corner. By moving just moving the sub it amped up the bass by 50 percent. To take advantage of your 5.1 surround sound system you need a sound card that is 5.1.Pros: Speakers subs look really nice around a computer. The center speaker, front and rear speakers are of nice design and the speakers are good quality. The 5.1 surround sound is an entry level system and it does very good jobs in getting the sound all around you. You may need to research on the perfect position of your speakers to get the best sound quality. MIDs are very good, the highs are not as good as they could be however, they are descent, and the low is descent but not big thumping like 150 watt subs. Cords are thick and plenty of length, however if you need to extend the rear audio speakers you can get RCA extenders and grab an extra cable on amazon and extend it an extra 30 or more feet.Cons: The subwoofer is not the best design. It a single flex sub and it is not a 10 inch drive like the description suggests. It's probably only 8 1/2 inch drive. This system in my opinion should only be used for a computer and not a big theater system. The sub responsive is only 35Hz at its lowest. But not to really make a big deal cause you need at least 200 watts of sub or more to hear lower than 20hz and most of your movies/games will never go below 40Hz.TIP: If you want the best sound quality of your bass, I would recommend placing the sub on the floor in a corner that you are close by. For the best rear sound for your rear speakers I would suggest you place them at a 45 degree angel from your ear or almost perpendicular to you.CONCLUSION: Over all this system is great for those who are looking for entry level 5.1 that does not cost a fortune and speakers that are good quality. Also with 75 watts of Audio they are perfect for apartments because they have enough sound to give you a full 5.1 but not loud enough to make people mad. The speakers are really good quality but the sub could of been better built.

I've had Klipsch 4.1 speakers for at least 6 years now. One of the sub speakers went, so I figured I would buy a new pair of speakers. The Klipsch's were very expensive ($300 or more if I remember)and lasted me a long time, but I wanted to try something different. After reading some reviews here on these z506 Logitech speakers, I figured I'd give them a shot. I didn't want to spend much this go around, and from the reviews it sure sounded like the Logitechs would be comparable. Boy, was I wrong.The Logitechs are "ok" at best. Sure, you can get some volume out of them if you can set them up right, but they are far from high quality sound. Firstly, setting them up is a pain. Windows 7 and these don't play nice using Realtek audio manager. After driving myself crazy and figuring out I could set the back and front and middle speaker all to "front speakers" in the retasking window, I got sound to come out of every speaker when playing mp3s. The 5.1 just doesn't work well with mp3s as it only comes out of the front speakers with normal setup, so I set them up to all have the same thing coming out of them. Not ideal by any means.The sound came out fine at normal levels, however the sub was lacking immensely. Do not believe any review here, the sub downright sucks for music or movies. For gaming, it sounded ok, but I don't want to spend 100 bucks for speakers that are only good for 1 thing. The comparison between the Klipsch sub and this sub isn't even a comparison. I can shake my house with the Klipsch sub compared to not being able to shake my desk with the Logitechs. For rich, deep bass, you can't even begin to compare the two. I know, this isn't a fair comparison because the 4.1s were more than triple the price, right?Well, when I was in a store and saw the 2.1s, I plugged them into my mp3 player and the sound was very close to the 4.1s. I almost just bought the 2.1s but I wanted to try something different and save a few bucks (the 2.1s were $150, these were $100). Big mistake. I wasted my time with these and should have just bought the 2.1s for 50 dollars more and be very very happy with them.Trust a person who has experience dealing with really good desktop computer audio. Spend 50 dollars more and get the Klipsch 2.1s. They are light-years ahead of the z506. Sure, it's 50% more in price, but it's much much more than 50% in performance. At least 2-4x the experience.Without a doubt, go with Klipsch. They own this category. If you want to go spend 30-50 dollars, then go with something else. If you are willing to spend around 150 bucks, get the Klipschs, or be prepared to be bitterly dissapointed. There are two things you shouldn't go cheap on, and that's speakers and a good monitor, as these are the things you are looking at and listening to constantly.Skip these speakers. Not worth it. I wish I'd have read a more accurate review before buying these and having to box them up and return them.

I absolutely love, love, love these speakers! It's important your system is set up for six speakers but assuming it is I can say with confidence these will be the best speakers you will find in this price range. Check my reviews and you'll know I'm not gushy about products -- many people whine that I'm too harsh.Here is an important consideration, make sure your system has the speaker jacks AND the drivers to enable six-speakers, even when you are playing a stereo recording. Otherwise you will find yourself disappointed that the sound is coming just from the left and right speakers and maybe the subwoofer. Just because you have connections for the separate components doesn't guarantee surround sound. Fortunately, most recently built computers have the technology built-in so this warning applies mostly to people with older systems. A quick and easy way to know for sure is to check to see if your computer has Dolby Home Theater built-in. It's not easy to find (Start Button\Control Panel\Sound\Playback\Speaker Properties in Windows 7) but enabling Dolby Pro Logic or Dolby Digital will allow you to enjoy immersive sound even when listening to stereo. If you don't have the speaker jacks, for example just a standard speaker and microphone jack, then you can purchase add-in cards like the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi.I was tempted to knock off a star for two reasons. One, I've become used to a separate "control pod" which handles things like the volume, bass and power control without having to reach for the speakers. Unfortunately, this is not included so you'll have to get used to using those multimedia buttons on your keyboard if your right speaker is out of reach and you'll have to go digging under your desk to adjust the bass level. I figure this was a tradeoff made to keep the price low. My other gripe is that, common to most surround speakers for computers, the length of the cable to the rear speakers is going to be too short to be of any benefit unless you want cables in the way. Fortunately, the connectors are standard RCA so a male-to-female extension cable will get the extra length you need if you're trying to run them in a manner that will allow you to hide the cable.In spite of these gripes, I still think they are five-star speakers, again with the caveat that Dolby Home Theater is enabled. I say this because it really makes a huge difference and Dolby changes the sound from "decent" to "fantastic". I have not heard any of the buzzing others have mentioned, no speaker noise whatsoever, the bass sounds great - not muddy, and the highs are crisp without being shrill. I know it sounds like I'm shilling for Dolby more than the speakers but it's important that people know that once you get beyond stereo, decent sounding speakers are only half the equation; a good sound processor is equally important. It's why audiophiles obsess over their receiver just as much as their speakers.This 75W system is plenty of power for a gaming computer, office, or bedroom but I wouldn't use it in a living room. Inputs are standard red/white RCA or the preferred green/yellow/black 3.5mm computers use. They're best used as computer speakers since you don't have a remote. Obviously these won't compare to high end THX speakers but they also don't have the high end price. If you're a gamer on a budget, I think you'll like these a lot.Hope the review helped.To answer other reviewers:M. Churchill - You are right, the description is incorrect and this system uses a 5.25" ported subwoofer.NYC reviewer - Most surround speakers do very little other than the ambient effects you described, especially during live broadcasts. Try to see if your TV has a 5 speaker stereo setting and it may give you the sound you were expecting. Try turning the built-in TV speakers off and the TV volume up to ~66% to eliminate the low volume issue. Also make sure there isn't an audio setting for TV or audio out - with some TV's it's either/or. Ultimately, I do think these are better suited as computer speakers than home theater speakers.Ryan and others - Regarding buzzing, while it's certainly possible you got bad speakers, buzzing is almost always caused by electrical interference. Try moving the speaker wires around, especially away from power strips or electric wall-warts and see if the buzzing changes in any way. There may be an unshielded culprit causing the noise. As I write this I have my speakers maxed with zero noise.

I have been searching for a great set of speakers that I could take on deployment with me for quite some time...and finally here they are. I am currently on my 6th deployment and I have gotten to the point where I like to have the creature comforts along with me. If you are deploying on ship, these speakers are what you want with you. You absolutely can not beat the price for what you got out of these things. Sound Quality - is freaking outstanding!!! What are people complaining about? I can't give you nerdy tech details, but i can tell you that they sound awesome. They are extremely loud and i constantly have to turn them down. and I've had people knock on my door cause the volume was up too high! These are great to hook up to your computer! I have mine plugged in with only the green cord into my laptop, and then a VGA to a 32" TV and I have no complaints. My office is now the place for movie night because these speakers are so great. I think what I like the most about them is the fact that all my .avi movies have actual surround sound that I never knew was there! There's nothing like watching a scary movie in a dark office on a ship out in the middle of the ocean... Installation was a breeze...everything is color coded so if you're colorblind, ask a friend to help. The only thing that ever confuses me is which side is left and which is right. I know my left from my right, but as far as the speakers go, that's another story, maybe I'm the only one. and yes, i have looked at the picture, and it doesn't help. and neither do the directions. Still awesome though. For a small office space...the cords are plenty long. Remember though, these are not normal speaker wires. So unless you know what you are doing...splicing and lengthening is not an option. The center speaker has a lip that folds down and helps to stabilize it onto your TV. As far as a REMOTE goes....how can people complain about no remote after buying these speakers, when no where in the description does it ever mention a remote. That confuses me...so if you are looking for a remote, these speakers dont have it, and go find something else. About the only thing negative that i can say about these speakers is that I personally wish the speakers had a face cover or something...but that's me.Hope this helps...enjoy!

I first purchased the Z506 about 8 months ago. I have them set up around my desk/workstation, which is kind of overkill but whatever. These were a replacement for a 2.1 system that died, and the price was right, so what the hey.When I first set them up, I noticed a strange fuzzy sound coming especially from the center speaker. It sounded like a radio station not quite in tune - it was present on every audio source I tried, from my computer with killer sound card to my Android phone. Same fuzz. I thought it was coming from a few of the other speakers too, but I couldn't be sure; it was only noticeable when playing certain mid- and high-frequency music, like classical piano (which I enjoy frequently). I was content to just deal with the fuzzy sound these speakers made, thinking it was the nature of the beast and I got what I paid for.Well. Fast-forward about 8 months, and the fuzz is getting a little worse. It's starting to annoy me, because a buddy of mine had recently bought a Logitech 2.1 speaker system that sounds *perfect* with all the tracks that made my Z506s fuzz out. WTF. So, I get to Googling and lo and behold - there is some rumbling on the Logitech forums about the Z506 sometimes making fuzzy, blown-out sounds when no damage had been done to any of the speakers. So I fired off an email to Logitech, explaining that I'd bought my speakers about 8 months prior and they'd always had sort of a fuzzy, blown-out sound to them that had recently gotten worse. I did all the usual troubleshooting: reinstall sound card drivers, check cables, dust out speakers gently with Dust-Off, try different audio sources, etc. Nothing worked, same fuzz.So what does Logitech do? They totally honor the lovely 2 year warranty with the Z506 and send me a BRAND NEW SET, entirely free of charge. I spent a few hours plugging it in and getting it all tuned up yesterday, and the speakers sound FLAWLESS!! Every single track that used to fuzz and buzz now sounds absolutely perfect. My office/bedroom is fairly large, but these speakers can fill it up with lovely, rich sound. The bass BOOMS when it's up all the way - stuff dances around my desk when Daft Punk comes on.Not only would I highly recommend the Z506, but urge anyone who has a less-than-stellar system to email Logitech. These speakers can (AND DO!) sound just marvelous! Buy them!

I bought these to replace my CyberAcoustics (that broke in less than a month), and the package was delivered a few weeks ago. Since then, I was impressed with the sound quality for the most part. But, with lower-quality audio, it's absolutely horrible. The speakers give a crackly/poppy/static-y noise that you would hear through headphones, which disappointed me. Also, the bass from the subwoofer is alright. JUST TODAY though, I don't know what it is, either something came loose or whatever, but now when I play a song with a lot of bass, I hear a rattling inside the subwoofer. It's only been 2 or 3 weeks, and I'm already disappointed with these speakers. Whether or not you should buy this is up to you, but if I knew that they'd be bad in certain situations, I wouldn't have.

Purchased this set to replace my old Altec speakers that were over 11 years old. Perfect crystal clear audio everytime i use them and have hooked flawlessly into my desktop computer and my ps3 at the same time.It would have received FIVE (5) stars but upon arrival one of the feet on the subwoofer was broken. The outer part of the foot was just broken in 2 pieces but the inside where the screw attaches to the box of the sub was completely shattered.It was much easier to super glue the foot back on rather than return for a refund or wait for new item.Overall, Logitech always makes a superior product and I will continue to purchase their items. This is a great system for a quality price. I just wish Logitech would make all their sound systems with remotes to control volumes.

Logitech stereos are awesome, great sound for the price the sub is a little on the weak side but that,s just me used to a proper home surround sound system and a powered amp.sub. But for a office,Room, Garage or a none Pro home theater system its rock solid in performance and quite gentle on the price. highly recommend.2 Wishes (not Cons) Wish the speaker cables were 2 times linger then they are (I always end up having to buy more speaker cable but that's normal I am just being picky), and Wish it had a remote that would be killer!!!.l Last but not least i wish Logitech started making HDMI compatible speaker systems, but that's probably just a long shot given their main market is the PC market.

I received these as a gift and have them hooked up to an iMac, which means there is not true surround sound (a computer issue, not a speaker issue). I have them in my study, which is a large room with a 24-foot ceiling. I listen primarily to opera and symphonic music. So far they are giving outstanding sound not only for voices, but for the various instruments in the orchestra. I also played some pipe organ music just to test out the bass, and it sounds excellent. I never listen to guitar or rock music, so I cannot venture an opinion about those uses.Setup was fairly easy, but one must read the small print for the color coding. Instructions in color would have been helpful.My only complaint is that the wires for the rear speakers are not long enough for most rooms. Another 6 feet on each would have been helpful. That is the only reason I downgraded them to four stars.So far, I highly recommend these. I shall amend my review if I have problems.

Great speakers for the price I paid. Got them on time and they pump nice. There is no control or anything so you have to keep the left speaker close if you like managing the speakers directly and not through the volume control on your OS. I would recommend waiting and saving up for something better if you can, maybe order the 5.1's that come with the volume control box. Logitech Speaker System Z906 would be my upgrade but that's just me. The speakers have short wires, the front speakers can not go very far and the back ones have somewhat long wires.Like I said the left speaker is what you control the sound system from so it is a bit of a problem. I really enjoy these speakers, they bump and got great quality. Make sure you enable Speaker Fill when you get these hooked up, other wise your stereo media like Music and certain videos will only play out of your front two speakers. I recommend these highly.

I had been greatly pleased with the speakers for the 1rst few months that I owned them as they provided very good sound sound for the price paid. Unfortunately one night while watching a movie (Avatar) the left front speaker died. The volume on the speakers was set to only a max of 75% (I didn't want to risk damaging the speakers) and the volume on the TV was only at 50% so I really wasn't stressing them at all. The other speakers all work fine so I was able to swap out the front with one of the rear so I can still have regular sound but my surround sound is completely gone.

I researched these speakers and got them for Christmas to use with my laptop computer. But upon setting them up, I discovered that the right front speaker would not play any sound. All of the other speakers and the sub worked just fine with both laptop and iPod, and the front right (the one with the knob) did everything it was supposed to do, but the only sound that ever came out was static. This was very disappointing, and after an hour of troubleshooting, I filed a support request with Logitech. I was told to expect a response within 48 hours, and now it has been nearly six days. This is not acceptable, and I find, even more disappointing than the speaker not working. I've bought Logitech products for many years, and expect far better service from such a successful company. Other than that, these are very decent speakers for their price.

I got ths system, it was easy to setup. Started enjoying great sound right away and was pleased with the system for the ease to setup and quality of sound. The only thing I really wish it came with is a remote, but not a big issue. I leave it pretty much set at the same volume most of time. The wiring for rear speakers is not real long, so is suited for a smaller room. I have my mine in my master bedroom hooked up to a 42 inch flat panel TV and my desktop PC. Works great with both. For the money I thought it is a good purchase for me.

I received my z506 about a week ago and wanted to test it for a full length week before writing my review.The z506 is an amazing bang for your buck. You really can't go wrong with this system. The sound quality is amazing. I tried movies, video games, and music on this system. In video games, I can very easily tell that I'm being shot at from the left or the right due to the surround working perfect with the xbox 360. The same goes for movies and I can feel the rumble of explosions and gunfire. For music it still performed perfect even at the highest volume. No sound distortion no matter what volume, the bass is great, overall great.I have seen several complaints about a slight static noise even when no sound is playing, this is not true. First of all make sure the z506 is plugged in to a wall, and also depending on what hardware its also plugged in to can cause this noise. Plugged into my computer with my computer set to 5.1 surround i get no whine. However, with my old TV I get a very slight noise but it is not really noticeable as long as there is even a tiny bit of background noise. I recommend when using this system with an old tv that doesn't support 5.1 very well to turn the z506's volume on a low setting than turn your TV volume up.Lastly, I tested the bass very hard for several hours. I played some serious bass songs on highest volume for my computer it was plugged into, bass on the subwoofer, and the volume dial, and I configured my computers sound card for a much higher bass. The result was my house shaking with perfect sound waves. No distortion at ALL. I was very surprised by this and I would have payed like 250 for this system because its that good. It came with all the cords I needed also. I own an xbox VGA cable that hooks up to my monitor and I had no sound through my monitor because it had no sound outlets, but I was able to plug the red and white sound cords into the z506 so that saved me a lot of trouble. The green cord it comes with allows you to connect this easily to your TV, computer, ect.I highly recommend this as a sound expert. If I get any problems later on I will add that. I have been testing this thing pretty hard and often leaving it on blasting for hours at time. The temperature stayed low and did the sound stayed consistant.-Brian

I searched Amazon thoroughly for 5.1 computer speakers in this general price range. These Logitech speakers looked best on paper, and buying them was the right decision. The speakers were packed well by the manufacturer, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. After installing the speakers, I ran the Realtek HD Audio Manager and configured it for the 5.1 speakers. Realtek has a test button that sends audio to each speaker separately, so it was easy to tell that everything was set up right. The sound is excellent. The subwoofer fills the room, and there is no distortion from any of the speakers. This is a big step up from my two old dinky speakers, and both CDs and computer games sound great.

After a day of having these speakers, I have no complaints. First off, the price is AMAZING. The bass is awesome, and the surround sound is perfect. The stereo to surround sound conversion feature is great, too, it makes listening to music and watching stereo movies even better. Some customers have complained about buzz in the speakers, even when there is no sound. Well, this is untrue for me, as the speakers sound just fine. I love the down-firing subwoofer, you can really feel the bass, all around your room. Other reviewers have said that the cables are a bit short, but I think that the rear speaker cables are fine, the problem lies in the front speakers. The cables are just barely long enough to reach my subwoofer in my average-size room, but if this is an issue for you, you can just buy cable extenders. However,this was not too much of a problem for me, and I didn't need extenders, just had to do some rearranging. Overall, the speakers are great quality, period. After having spent only $80 on these, I am totally satisfied. The bass is great and the surround sound is just as good. I highly recommend this surround sound system.

I bought this a couple months after purchasing the Logitech S-220 2.1 Speaker System which is still rocking the house. Our bedroom has the noisy A/C cranking this summer and our TV speakers just weren't cutting it so I moved these out of my office and into the bedroom. Then I started searching for a new Logitech system for the office and wanted to try out the Z-506 5.1. What I like about this is that it doesn't require an RCA Y-cable adapter as the other systems do. You can just hook it straight into your DVD/Bluray, gaming consoles, TVs, etc. Oh, and it can still easily hook up to your PC's as this was original designed for. I bought a 25' extension cable after reading that the cables were too short, but I found that the rear speakers were too low. It could've been the cable I bought and possibly too long, but they were gold plated. That said, I've found a satisfactory way to deal with just the cables it came with and I'm having a great experience with these speakers. Even with AVI, Xvid, MP4 and other compressed movie files, the sound quality is typically great. The bass kicks so much more than the S-220s. The rear speakers work well, however, depending on how well the movie files are compressed, there is a garbling in the rear speakers. But I will say, Logitech has made another epic piece of device here.

I really enjoyed the sound quality coming from these little animals. It was very leveled and high detailed. However, when I decided to crank it up I found myself severely disappointed. 75 watts of power doesn't seem to please me. I decided to return them and in exchange get myself a refurbished z-5500 set. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Logitech forever.

I had these speakers for a week and they started to crack. i never turn the volume up more then half way. I was stoked when i got them because I know logitech is a good brand. Two weeks into have the speaks and being disappointed one of them stopped working completely. No returns are excepted on this item so I'm not pleased

I bought used like new to save money and because I trust Amazon Warehouse Deals as a seller, when used system came today I nearly coughed to death because everything smelled burned out(burned plastic). I checked everything to make sure nothing had burned out, I immediately got nervous and wanted to test the surround sound system on my tv. After hooking up the surround sound system I tested out the quality of each speaker playing music with bass and the 2 rear speakers had a slight popping sound. Upon further testing I have concluded that it sounded bad because of bass heavy music & movies even when having the bass on the system very low. I was using my ps3 when testing the speakers, when I used my 360 I didnt notice the issue. I dont know why it smelled like smoke and pop on certain music and movies but decent speakers for price. I will try to remember to do a update 2 weeks from today. Also I hated that it didnt come with no manual.

This speakers are amazing very happy with this purchase. If you are looking for good surround sound for your computer these are great, and very easy to setup. I figured it out and had them setup in this than 5 minutes. The sound quality is good, and I feel like this was a great deal.

Set it up without a hitch, getting damn good sound out of them. I'm so happy I bought these. Honestly, I was leaning towards creative, but it looks like their QA took a hit recently, and Logitech was definitely the way to go. Not an audiophile but the sound quality is clear and crisp.Overall, I'm just loving these speakers.

I bought these to replace my existing set for my home computer that only had 2 speakers. We liked them so much we bought a second set, for the entertainment system in the living room. It's great hearing the background sounds, as if they really are in the background. You feel like you're in the movie. Easy set up too.

Purchased this speaker set for my 11 yr old son's bedroom to go with his iPad for music / games. Excellent sound. Deep bass and bass control. speaker cords were long enough to setup up true surround environment. Thinking about another set for my office. Good for medium sized rooms (15'x15'). Tried it out in our great room (20'X20') and was okay but lost some of the resonant bass compared to my Bose Acoustimass system, but clarify of sound was excellent. Researched a number of sets and this was the best sounding, best output (W) for the price.

These speakers are fantastic. I have them in a smallish room and they sound absolutely amazing. And being on a budget, i am overjoyed with the sound quality. Dont get me wrong, i bought these on a tight budget, but I would be these over and over again even if i had more money.Buy them, you will not regret it.

After researching these a bit, seeing a lot of mixed reviews, I bought them. I am actually quite impressed with these speakers. When you get them, make sure you set your computer to 5.1 surround sound, or you'll be posting in the reviews, "Hur, dur, 3 spekrs dnt wrk hur dur." Also, music will only play with 2 speakers because it's recorded in 2.0 sound. The bass is very nice, wish the adjuster was on the front right speaker with the volume adjuster, but oh well. These are well worth the price.

I purchased these on black Friday for $85 and I have to say these speakers sound amazing. The bass is really deep and can be adjusted on the back of the sub-woofer. The other speakers are great too, I can't comment on the surround sound capability of the system as I don't really have it setup that way, however for music they are great and fill the room. Very loud and crisp even when turned up really high. They work really well for movies too but like I said I can't comment on the surround sound capabilities.

I saw these on sale at a local retailer. They sounded better than other models on display so I decided to buy and try out at home. I have them connected to my Mac mini's headphone jack. I'm surprised at the quality of sound. Sounds great with itunes music and youtbue videos.

I love my new system makes me fill like I am in a theater when I am watching a movie and it makes me fill like I am in a night club when I am listening to my music, it can't get any better then that.

These speakers work great! I love the sound quality I get from them and also the Bass. I couldn't be happier with the purchase! I use these for my computer which doubles as my TV, works wonderfully.

It is an overall good product. It does what it’s supposed to and does it well. No complaints, it showed up on time, is good quality, and packaging was sufficient.

I replaced my Cyber Acoustic setup that failed on me with this system and I must say that these are quality! When playing games or watching movies that are mixed 5.1, this truly transports you into the center of the action. I've discovered subtle nuances to music that I never noticed before due to these speakers. The sub is ground shakingly powerful, so I keep it down to about half power most of the time.

Wasn't expecting much from this, as it was my first Surround Sound experience.I love these things! They have volume, bass, and depth! I haven't even used them to the max as my walls are thin and don't want to get noise complaints!The thing I LOVE about them is that YOU DON'T NEED A RECEIVER! Everything gets plugged in to the subwoofer.Only complaint, the wires for the back speakers can be a little short. All in all, great purchase, at least for my one bedroom!They do peak at times, but I'm sure I haven't adjusted the TV volume to speaker volume ratio just right. If anyone has some ideas, leave a comment!

The speakers come with no instructions and there was speaker cracking would be better if had these overall . the sound quality was superb, but be careful not to blow out your speakers.

I find this product excellent, has spectacular and surround with the video and the music sounds great.I recommend that you bring longer cables since one has to do to place adaptation at the four corners, and also a remote control would be nice.If anyone has any doubt of the team as such, I recommend it, not disappointed, on the contrary, found him devirtido and want to see the movies you saw before to enjoy them again with this sound.

The speakers did not work for me so i have returned them. They probably are good speakers but not for me

The speakers came with very good timing, wouldn't have expected them to come sooner than they actually arrived which was pleasing. Opened the package to see the product in very good condition. It appears to sound perfectly fine, but for some reason 3 out of 5 speakers don't seem to produce sound unless it's some type of design the makers have used?
