These for the money are a great buy. They really boost the sound from my vaio laptop up to the level that I can hear with some enjoyment. I dont know why laptop speakers suck but they do. I would have given these speakers a five star but you still have to deal with two set of wires to plug in, and a travel bag would be a good addition but for the money I wont complain. It s a good value.

Arrived well packaged and in time frame promised, but one of the speakers was defective (scratchy sounding, apparently broken speaker membrane)--guess this happens with mass-production lacking good quality control, but still a nuissance. Neat little USB-powered speakers, very compact, but returned for refund--1 chance only. Return through Amazon was straight-forward and as easy as (easier) than with brick-and-mortar.

Wanted speakers for laptop with volume control that were inexpensive and looked all over internet. Looked all over Walmart, Target, Best Buy, you name it. Finally, found these Logitech speakers on Amazon and they are perfect. Small, but powerful and great for set up anywhere. I can hear my work out dvd's, my movies, etc. and the sound is crisp and clear. Logitech makes a great product. I knew Amazon would have them. I should've checked them first and stopped running around!

To sum it up, these speakers are aesthetically amazing. But that is pretty much about it. I understand for the price you can't complain. I'd just like to point out that you can't even pass the speaker volume past the middle on the dial or everything sounds distorted (muffled, speaker blown type sound). The speakers are not that loud when in the middle of the volume dial. If you pass the middle then everything sounds like complete garbage. Again, I understand I'm not asking for like $100 quality sounds, I'm just saying they allow these speakers to be turned up via a volume dial, but if you pass the middle of that dial, everything sounds liek complete crap.

These speakers are a great value, with good sound and more than adequate volume to listen to movies, etc on a laptop. Easy to use, with no need to plug into a separate power source; just the computer. Very satisfied.

Pros: Look great and very modern. Much better than the plain black mesh speaker at this price point. Easy to control volume knob right there on the right speaker. USB powered means one less surge protector plug needed.Cons: Don't expect loud or bassy sound...it's a 2.0 system with no subwoofer.

The shape is good.But the sound is not good.This speaker is not small.Good design. Smaller than the small size of the speakers sound. Sounds really small. Hard to listen to music.Shown how these products can be sure that it does not make sense. It's sound noise occurs. Had read in other reviews that there is not enough sound. You won `t be a big problem, I thought. But it is a big problem.4 Stars?? No no no

a Little on the tinney side for my tast. But do like the USB connection. I would rate them a good by for the money.

This was a Christmas gift for a family member. Their PC had no sound. They said these speakers were great and was very happy to finally have sound for the news, music etc. Thank you...

Do you live with clutter? Yeah, tell me about it. Two things I like about this speaker system: the sound is clear and the small speakers and long wires mean I can get them away from my desk area which already has too much on it. Would I listen to music with these? I can't say since I have a good stereo system. They serve the purpose for watching videos of a how-to nature and you don't need uncomfortable earphones. Personally, this is a great benefit. I recommend them.

Got these for my daughter's laptop. They are USB Powered so no wall outlet needed. Just a speaker jack and one USB port is need. Works well with the laptop on battery and provides a much louder and richer sound than the built-in laptop speakers.

I should have payed more attention to how many watts it was. They speakers are great just not too loud and I am a person who likes loud music or sound for movies. I would recommend them though as they have nice clarity to them.

Wanted some small USB powered speakers for my desk and decided to give these a try. Compact and nice looking. Was really pleased that they do seem to put out unexpectedly full sound. No, it's not going to rival the Klipsch or large Logitech systems but for small, inexpensive, USB powered units, I am very happy with this purchase.

Really great sound and am happy with my purchase overall. Sound is great from most music, unless you are at loudest and are listening to stuff with a lot of base then distorts at high volumes. Overall music sounds great and plays plenty loud even for a small group of friends.However on my Thinkpad x120e causes a noticeable buzz when plugged in (not too bad), muting computer nor turning off volume on speaker doesn't help. Not noticeable when playing music, which again sounds really nice compared to my laptop speakers. I just unplug em when not in use on my x120e no biggie. Doesn't do this with my old HP tablet laptop tx2500.Makes a high pitched noise with my desktop on the front audio ports, really badly makes a horrible noise. Plugged directly into my Desktop's creative xFI only can hear the wine when nothing is playing at the Highest volume. Not that you'll really be using these on your desktop unless you wanted something compact, but I would go with a shielded speaker for desktop use really.Really is annoying that these really can't travel well. There is no case and the thin speaker membranes are completely exposed. They really should have had one speakers face lock into the other then it would be great to travel with em. But unless you keep the box you really can't take these anywhere without breaking the speakers.

These speakers work as advertised. These are by no means going to give you a home theater experience, but they work. If you are on a budget, these speakers will work just fine.

For the price these are a much better that "just adequate" speakers for your computer. If you are expecting or looking for speakers with full dynamic range that will rattle your windows you should seek elsewhere. On the other hand if you are on a budget, have limited space and need speakers with a nice sound then you can't go wrong with this item.For the individuals who are intimidated by wire, plugs and computers rest assured this is a very easy set up with clear instructions.Now sit back, surf over to Classical KUSC in LA, select the live broadcast, turn the speakers switch on - see the handy indicator light - adjust the volume - now that was easy and just think for $15 what a deal - are we smart today or what!

If you are buying a pair of speakers for a desktop computer, or that will be sitting in one place all the time, don't waste your money on these. You can get better for only a little bit more. HOWEVER, if you are buying these for a laptop/netbook, they are worth it! The reason I bought these speakers was because my netbook's speakers are very soft (as would be expected from a netbook). What's nice about these speakers is that they are powered off of the USB port on my netbook so that I can carry them wherever I want and not have to worry about plugging them into a wall outlet.That being said, these are great sounding speakers if you take them for what they are. They are 1.2 watts total... i.e. very weak speakers. However, I would never have guessed that. They have great highs, very good mids, and the bass is adequate for small, portable speakers without a subwoofer. They were worth the money I paid for them (albeit, I paid less than what they are right now).P.S. I listen to a few different types of music. They include acoustic/piano (Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Jason Mraz and that type), dubstep/house/electronic/dance, instrumental only music. and all of it sounds good on these speakers (the electronic type music definitely sounds better with a subwoofer, especially dubstep. but these speakers still do fine with it).

Well, what can I say? I'm pretty please overall with these speakers. I know they are technically meant to be portable laptop speakers, but I decided to use them on my desktop computer since I don't have a laptop. I was worried that the cables wouldn't reach, but I'm pleased to say that the length of the cables made it all the way from a desk height to the floor where the computer was. After hookup, I proceeded to test various types of music on them.First off, I tested volume alone, and for their size, these speakers can get pretty loud. I'm impressed. The next thing I tested was very high notes by listening to some opera. They handled that quite nicely with very little popping. Then I tried them with some lovely extreme metal, and they handled the vocalist's melodic shrieking very well. Then I moved on to some video game tunes, which sounded perfect. The last thing I tested was a very bass-heavy song, and this is really the only place where the speakers weren't perfect. The base sounds okay (a little quiet; no power), but not spectacular. Since these speakers are very small, though, I can forgive that. It'd be very hard to get strong bass on such tiny speakers, so I won't dock points for this.Overall, I'm pretty pleased with them, and I can't see anything wrong with them either. For their price (around $20 last time I checked), they are a great value. They certainly sound better than some off-brand speakers I got from Big Lots for the same price. Also, I must say, that if you are shopping for speakers to go with a desktop computer but don't want to spend a fortune, don't be afraid to go with these. Even if you find that the cords are not long enough, you can always get an extension. Really, for the price and the sound quality, I recommend them to everyone - desktop, laptop, whatever. So go out and get these Logitech speakers and don't buy electronics from Big Lots. That's my advice!

not compatible with my second laptop which is only 3 yrs old. Speakers don't seem to work with a Toshiba I purchased in 2009. Works great with laptop purchased in 2011
