After just a few uses, it stopped recognizing commands properly and in a couple of instances sent the wrong command to FSX. I reinstalled the Logitech software twice and reinstalled fsx as well...all to no avail. It is currently awaiting garbage pickup. I am switching to CH products hoping to find a better solution. BTW, I am fairly savvy and am running these applications on a brand new and quite robust laptop. Bummer.

The software is a little cobbled together looking, but other than that it's a great stick for the price. Works very well in BF3 & other flight games I have.

I bought this to play Descent and its sequels on my 2010 MacBook Pro. Descent was released in 1994, and I still have not come across a game that controls with this level of freedom. This joystick handles all six axes beautifully and intuitively. Pitch, roll, bank, and throttle can all be controlled simultaneously without moving my hands from their default positions, making for some vertigo-inducing, but satisfying, maneuvers. It has nice resistance, too, for the stick and most of the buttons. My only complaint is that the trigger button could feel a bit more crisp. It doesn't affect the gameplay, but I like a good, solid click for my triggers. Not a big deal at all, though.This stick also works well for the old Lucasarts flight sims, like Tie Fighter, though that's not saying much as these games only support two axes and one button. The controls cannot be customized. That goes for any joystick, though. The software is very limited in this way.

Ive owned 4 of these Joy Sticks, they are good for a short while but have a problem after extensive use, and become useless after a while. Not recomended for Extensive continious use. The joy stick loosens and will not operate properly in FSX or combast Flight sim or online games. If you only play periodicaly then this is a good resonably priced joy stick. Ive never had one last more than 9 months from purchase.

I bought this joystick for use with Microsoft Flight Simulator X Standard DVD on my PC. It shipped quickly and arrived within the acceptable period. It was in the original box and was packaged well. It came with a setup DVD but I did not use it. It worked perfectly and set up itself right out of the box. I now use it very frequently with my flight simulator, and it works excellently. I would recommend this product to anyone with a flight simulator.

I've owned this joystick for years. Its gone through 5 moves across the county--shoved into boxes and bins. It has held-up incredibly well. I've never had a problem with it and every new computer I get recognizes it right away (running Windows). I mainly use it for FSX and it is perfect. Plenty of shortcut keys and calibration is always on the mark!

This is a durable and easy to use controller for the money. There are numerous products that cost 2 or 3 times more than this, but for the money, you can't be the quality. This is my second one, bought the first one about 5 years ago.

This is not my first Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, the 1st one I had was so well liked by me and my niece that when she moved I gave it to her. It was still in great working order and I had purchased it in 2006. So after she left I purchased a new one of the same model being a Flight Simulation (FS2004-FSX) fan. I find the controls and functions on the joystick extremely useful, by itself it gives a feeling of realism to the application that I use it for. If you combine it with other controllers such as pedals and throttles the realism elevates to even more. After trying other controllers like the Saitek Cyborg or the CH products Flight Stick I have always fallen back to the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro it handles better has more functions and is more reliable than some of the others. This is a well built product and I will enjoy this controller for many years...David....

I bought this joystick because I had one before and it worked great for a couple years. My last one got fried some how but it lasted a while. This joystick is great for someone who wants to play around with a flight simulator. It may not be the best joystick on the market, but it's a great buy for the money!

Bought this specifically for Microsoft Flight and I have no complaints at all. Recognized by the game so easily customized in setup, resistance feels just right, very responsive, good weight. Can't really beat the price, of course, compared to the more "serious" ones, and I've always had luck with Logitech products (current household ones include a few wireless mice/keyboards, Harmony One remote, Squeezebox Touch, C910 webcam...). Most of the negative reviews seem to focus on issues that occur down the road so I can't comment on that yet as I've only had it a few weeks. Will amend as needed, though. I thought I had an issue at first and couldn't figure out why I kept pulling up until I figured out it was the trim (yes, I'm a novice at flight and sims thereof)...now all is well. ;)

I was surprised at how accurate and smooth this controller feels compared to my old joystick.I didn't realize just how just how sloppy my old stick had become till I used this Logitech Extreme.For $25.00 it seems to be a good deal and feels well constructed. I'm happy with it.Works fine in windows 7 64 as does the included software.

I'm reloading old games and needed a joystick. This one had enough good reviews here and on Newegg to give it shot. Turned out Amazon was about $10 cheaper than Newegg so I ordered it from Amazon.I reloaded Starlancer and have been bagging Coalition bad guys at a furious pace.While the throttle isn't in the most convienient location, this joystick does what I bought it for. There are more buttons than I need, but that doesn't bother me. For those who want everything on the stick, this will do fine for you too.

I had this joystick for more than 4 years, using it to play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. While a simple joystick, it does what it says it can do, VERY well. For the last 3-6 months however the calibration started to fizzle out and no matter how many times I re-calibrated it, the simulator would think I was twisting the handle for rudder control, when I wasn't touching it at all (To reach the "dead-zone", I'd need to apply left rudder). This led to some frustrating times and I finally decided to order a new one to continue the great hobby of flight simulation. If you're looking for a simple, yet reliable joystick for gaming, the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick would be a solid choice.

I've used the wireless version of this joystick with no problems and I thought this unit would be just as good. The install was pretty easy as logitech have good software technicians. However, even though the joystick is recognized by the control panel in vista 64, you need a second piece of software to make the joystick work called "the profiler". This software wouldn't recognize the joystick and that renders the joystick useless in game. Though logitech support is the best in the industry in my opinion, after 30 plus hours, I've (we) failed to make the profiler software work. The support process caused several errors elsewhere on my computer that included corrupting my boot sector. Fun fun fun. My seller, Datavision, has a 30 day return policy that is coming up so I'll be returning this hardware.I've been a logitech customer for 12 plus years and I will still continue to be.

This is the third 3D Pro that I have owned. The other two were broken by me in non-use ways. The reason I am buying this again is because it is that good for the money that I'm not even going to try a different stick.Plenty of buttons on this thing. Doesn't slide around. If you are flying anything in a game you need one of these.The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because it is all plastic and hasn't been updated for a long time. I would pay more for a heavier metallic stick like this and it would get 5 stars. I'd like some lights too.

A great joystick, it was a bit stiff when i got it so i applied some WD40 to the bearings. The only other problem was the wrist rest, the seam where the two pieces of plastic go together was a bit sharp and would irritate my hand, but i filed it down a bit and now its fine. All the problems it had were easily fixable.

I purchased this joystick through Amazon after I fried my Saitek Cyborg Evo Force by plugging in the wrong adaptor, and have used it mostly for IL-2 games. This stick has some advantages over the Saitek stick (namely the smaller dead-zone) but it's really for people like me who aren't hardcore flight-sim gamers and want the ability to do more than just arcade-style flight games. There is included software that allows you to create profiles for different games; I assume this could be used to overcome any tendencies that the stick has towards a certain direction, but I haven't had to make any of these adjustments as I do all my button assignments inside IL-2.Pros:-Price appropriate for a low-mid-range joystick.-Easy setup.-Smooth operation and small dead-zone.-Easy rudder control via joystick rotation.Cons:-Lack of adjustability can lead to hand strain and discomfort after long sessions.-Lightweight plastic design means the base picks up when you throw the stick hard in any given direction.-8-way POV hat-switch does not want to move to diagonals. It can get there, but it's a bit of a struggle.-No force-feedback.

Working in a USB lab I was able to test this device extensively before purchasing it. I'm using it with the X-Plane 9 program and it works perfectly. Being able to assign specific functions to specific buttons is a key for it's functionality. The item came very promptly in a box that was definitely bigger than it had to be. A great product from a great seller.
