Though this was my first joystick purchase, I've used similar joysticks in the same price range and this joystick makes all of those look bad. Its wide base really doesn't allow it to tip over and it has plenty of buttons. But what I'm most satisfied with is how the joystick feels, It gives resistance when you're pushing the stick around and it feels very smooth. This joystick really doesn't look or feel cheap at all. I'd recommend this to anyone whos looking for their first joystick.

This is a great joy stick. For almost all people it is a very comfortable stick. But there was a slight problem that occured when I got the stick. You see, I'm a lefty, and stick is made to fit a right hand. It didn't make it impossible for me to use it but for long flight in Microsoft Flight Simulator, it did get irritating at times. So if you are a right handed person, I say go ahead and buy it. But if you are a lefty, I suggest you spend a little bit more money for a lefty stick or buy one that is symmetrical.

I love this joystick. It's definitely a step up from my Logitech Attack 3. This one has more buttons and the twist feature. The programming software that came with it is the best. You can push one button and have a customized sequence of actions occur in the games you're playing. I couldn't really get used to the twist feature, so I just simply disabled it. This joystick is simple to use with the software and I'd recommend it to anyone. Plus, it's not expensive. If this one breaks or malfunctions on me in the coming years, I'll be purchasing another one for sure.

I just figured out how to calibrate this joystick. I am using Windows XP. I assume it will work with all Windows operarting systems though.Go to Control Panel, click on "Game Controllers", or however you get to your joystick settings. Hold down the "Ctrl" (control key) and the "Shift" key together - at the same time, THEN click your mouse on the "Properties". This should take you to a different calibration screen that you would get to without holding the two keys together. IMPORTANT - Click on the "Test" tab first. If you go to the settings tab first, it likely will not work. Without doing anything else after clicking on the "Test" tab, next click on the "Settings" tab. Then click on the "Calibrate" button below. Click "next". Click the thumb button on the left side of the joystick which should bring you to another screen. Then follow the prompts......* On the "axis calibration", move your joystick in full circles, making sure the "+" symbol moves around the far margins of the square. After a few complete circles, click the "next" button with your mouse.* On the next screen, click the left button on the joystick again, which should bring you to the next screen. Move the throttle lever back and forth a few times. Then click "next" again.* On the "Z rotation screen", move the joystick to the left and right (rotate it) a few times. Then click "next" and then "finish" then "ok". Thats it. It should be calibrated now. Hope this helps everyone with problems.

Got this stick mainly for fighter combat sims, and in that function it excels! The build in rudder controls (twisting the stick on axis) is very handy...and with so many buttons all conveniently placed at the top of the hat you can map all your controls. No suction cups of any sort on the base, instead, the stick is base heavy ensuring that it will be secure throughout use.

I bought it used from one of the amazon market place resellers. I'm very happy with the joystick, especially for the price! I was a little worried about force feedback after reading all the negative comments. But, I found the force feedback to be strong enough to make your simulation experience much more realistic but not too strong so as to make controlling the plane harder. Installation was a snap and logitech's profiler software is great for tweaking the settings according to your own preference. I do agree that the zero centering feedback is not as strong as it should have been but its not a deal breaker. I use this joystick primarily with MS Flight Simulator X but I also play some arcade style fighter sims and it works great with everything I've thrown at it. I would recommend this joystick to all serious flight sim fans, especially if you can get a good deal on a used one.

I use this stick on my apple and it works well. I've read the complaints about drift, etc., but these can easily be solved by creating a deadzone in the middle of the stick. If you want to program this on an apple computer, you need to buy ControllerMate ($15), as Logitech does not provide programming software. It is well worth the buy as ControllerMate recognizes all the buttons and axes and you can map any key you like to them. This means you can use the stick for games like MW2, BF2, etc. I give it a 4-star because it has one less button on the head of the stick than the Cyborg Evo, which is what I benchmark it against.

A while back I finally had to dump my old Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback joystick. Not because the stick itself was bad but because I no longer had a working game port. The current generation of Sidewinders are a pale memory of the older models so I decided to give Logitech a try.The force feedback on this joystick is great. It really pulls you into the game and gives you a feel for the action. The buttons are well places and very responsive. The placement of the throttle is a godsend. So many companies put the throttle in an out of the way area but in sim games like MechWarrior you need instant access to the throttle.The downside of this stick is its sensitivity. Though I have gotten used to it the way the stick reacts takes away a bit of the enjoyment in games. Many times I find myself turning off the force feedback so I have better control, but then what was the purpose of this purchase?If you need the sensitivity, get this stick. However most people should look elsewhere.

For the price I should not gripe. But, I expected better from Logitech. The joystick sticks at times and I have to add extra effort to move it. When it releases the airplane "lurches". If you can afford a better one then you should not buy this one.

I've had this stick for a while now (a couple of years I guess); it's been excellent. Playing CFS3, Heroes of the Pacific for the most part. Hadn't played much for a while until recently, and now I come back to it it seems that it's no longer smooth (hence the missing star); this also makes it hard to keep it nicely centred. I guess it's just seizing up from not being used enough ;-)I can't begin to understand how some of the others here are saying there's not enough feedback - could be that they haven't got it set up right (feedback level is customisable), that Logitech have come up with the most variable manufacturing process in history, or that those complaining of this are insensitive brutes. Whatever, it's been perfect for me - until it's begun to get sticky as mentioned above. Still perfectly usable with force feedback turned off (or no power to the stick) though.Seeing the poor reviews here has actually prompted me to do one for the first time, I've liked my stick that much :-)

This joystick was my first (and last from Logitech).I cannot recommend this Product for the following reasons:1) Mechanical connection for Force Feed-back is Intermitant,as best.2) "button 11" works when it wants to.3) Gives false inputs until it warms up by hand.4) Force sensitivity cannot be calibrated (none to'stirring gravel')5) Cannot cancel out 'rudder shimmy' PROS:1) solid,sturdy base.2) It hasn't caught fire yet. The first stck delivered did not work properly. The twist function did not work. With some minor trouble shooting Logitech sent a new one immediately.

I have already had a experance about this joystick before! I am a student pilot,I found it wooks well.With flight 2004,I can take it as a simple simulator.It has force feed back and the rudder control !

I have had this joy stick for about 3 years now I think it was. A very very good price for what it does. I gave it a 4 only because it doesn't have forced feedback.As a matter of fact I'm looking for a joystick with forced feedback now and I think I'll stick with a Logitech joystick. I Have NEVER had a problem with ANY Logitech product.

After a good number of years, we finally replaced the joystick my son uses for things like Flight Sim and NASCAR SimRacing. This one has a very stable base - it is weighted down better than the last one, does not slip off the desk or require an extra hand to keep it in place, AND I can't hear it from the other side of the house anymore! I am happy with it.

Buy a Saitek. I have no had three Logitech Joysticks, two of them Extreme 3D's and all three have burnt out in no more than 6 months. Both times, the device will fail to be recognized in a fully functional usb port making the joystick useless.I've had a Saitek now for over a year and have had not a single issue with it.Avoid these unless you're looking to buy another one in 6 months. Along with the USB issues, this stick becomes loose and drifts after minimal use. If you're a heavy Flight Sim junky, this stick is poor quality. Recommend you spend the 100 bucks on a better stick as you'll be spending that much anyway to replace this stick.

It works great on my macbook pro. I didn't have to install anything. I plugged it into my USB port and then the game i was playing even had presets for this joystick.

I have been gaming for a long time now, and this by far is the worst joystick i have ever used. The force feedback on this joystick is nothing. If you are thinking of getting this, DON'T!!! When i read the reviews, i thought these people knew what they were talking about. They obviosly didn't. When i loaded the software into my computer, (I'm running off of vista) and tested it out, i could barely feel anything. I used to have a Microsoft Sidewinder with force feedback, and that was amazing. It was the best joystick i ever had. The pro force was not well made. when i pluged the powerpack in, it would not stay in the outlet because it was so loose. And when i pluged the other end into the joystick, it kept falling out too. The reciever was too big. The sensitvity was way too high. There was no dead zone at all. And when i tried to calibrate it, it didn't do anything. So to sum this all up,Quality: 1Durability: 2Ease of use: 2Force feedback resistence: 0I would not recamend this product to anyone.

I purchased this joystick, along with microsoft fs 2004 around mid 2006 i loved the software and the joystick fit perfectly with the game. The hat switch was very handy and the throttle control was great. Unfortunately about three months after i started playing, the joystick broke. The altitude adjustment stopped working so you couldnt fly, you would just run straight off the runway. I took apart the base naturally thinking that i could re scres something that had become unscrewed and get it to be fixed. I opened up the bottom and discovered that there was something wrog with the sensor and that there was nothing that I could do to fix it. My friends have had a similar problem with their joysticks rudder function, mentioned by several viewers. I am going to buy the $30 saiyo and see if that company has a beter product. If you dont mind replacing this, it s a great joystick, but not shown to hold up for a long time. I reccomend against purchasing this product and go with a company that has more experience with joysticks

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick. Easy to install and adjust to the my Flight Simulator soft wear. One problem I have is the pitch trim control which may be the soft wear or the joystick. The pitch trim is not real world.
