My drive worked great for 2-3 days... very fast and I was in heaven with it in my laptop running Windows 7 home premium. While browsing the web, the computer just froze. I waited a few minutes for it, but it stayed frozen so I power cycled it. It booted up to Windows and let me start the browser, but it froze shortly after. I power cycled it again and it froze before Windows started to boot up. Now the drive is non-functional. Any PC I put it in freezes up while trying to read the drive. The laptop works with the old drive in it just fine.Intel's support is not that great. Currently waiting for a Live Chat tech. support engineer to become available....

Hi,I recently purchased this item, it's all fine a good, but you should update the firmware before use.It's easy and simple, Intel provides the tools, as they realized their 320 series has an error on the initial firmware that might turin your disk into an 8MB brick.Acknowledgment by Intel[..]Intel Toolbox & Firmware Fix[..]Anyways, if nothing of this works, you can always get one straight from Intel as long as you have the invoice and the warranty is still valid.

Just Google "Intel 320 series 8mb bug" and you'll see what I'm complaining about. Had the drive for a week and it happened. I even talked to Intel Tech support before I installed as to what I should do to avoid this bug. They said to "make sure the system is powered down properly and it shouldn't be a problem". Wrong! I have a laptop, with a battery, so it gets consistent power. I was installing some software and it suddenly crashed on me, causing the 8mb bug. BEWARE! Great 5 year warranty, and a quality drive, but Intel lost the reliability in my eyes. Returned for a refund.

I purchased this one night because I was bored and wanted to spend some money. So, I bought this one SSD. Wow! Installed it in just a few moments. Hooked everything up, moved over the C drive to the SSD, booted up and was done. Whole process took a little less than one hour.The speed of this thing is out of the world. I went from an average boot time of five+ minutes to less than one minute total. I consider boot time from power on to desktop icons and apps loaded. Shut down time takes less than 30 seconds. Before, it could take a couple moments.This is well worth the price and makes my system scream.Pros: Speed, Price, Design,CONS: None

Bought two 120GB SSD recently and the very first thing I did was to upgrade SSD firmware to 0362. So far both have been working well in my 2011 15" Macbook Pro and 2011 Mac Mini. Boot into Lion in under 15 seconds! Speed and reliability have been perfect so far. There is even a way to enable TRIM under Lion. Excellent product from Intel.

I purchased this item based on the reviews and it was the best decision for my computer.This drive has amazing speed when compared to traditional hard drives. My only complaint is the cost but as more people purchase this the price will come down.Installation was a breeze and loading the operating system was easy. My computer boots in about 30 seconds from power on to complete loading of the windows overhead.

Fast drive. Installed easily. Didn't last. 3 days shelf life and then it died. Intel are going to take more like a week + to get a replacement to me. Their phone support/RMA process is also horribly LAME. I hope the next one just works. It's plenty fast, just died spontaneously. Thank Apple for Time Machine :)

I installed a 120MB 320 Series as a replacement for a failed drive on an HP laptop.It was a great drive for 2 months, and made the laptop much faster.Then it bricked. No 8 MB, just utterly dead.

Waited 3 months to get the drive after placing the order. Amazons reps kept lying to me, nominating different delivery dates and kept breaking them. After I finally got the drive it lasted 1 month before it died. Bad blocks and eventually boot failure - lost a lot of important data. This drive also has official bug in the controller, acknowledged by Intel, where it converts 600GB to 8Mb.

To be certain, this SSD is great. Although I was most impressed by what was included in the box. It comes with a USB/SATA cable (with 2 USB plugs to get the maximum power), drive cloning software via download from Intel, not to mention 3.5" mounting hardware, extra screws, and a rubber jacket for the drive. There was even screwdriver in the box! Bottom line: the drive performs excellent and the disk cloning worked flawlessly and quickly. An easy way to boost the performance of your laptop. Intel rocks!

I have bought four of these drives and two of them have failed (complete data loss) within the first three weeks of use. Intel tells me they're researching the issue. I'm surprised this drive is still being shipped.
