I couldn't believe the difference from this monitor to my old one which it was a 20 in. from Gateway. It's going to take getting used to but I love it!!

Just received HD 2311x today, could not get it to reconize the hdmi cable. Called hp tect. found out if both dvi and hdmi cables are hooked up, the hdmi will not be reconized. Disconect the dvi, and the hdmi will be reconized. go figger. Anouther thing I don't like, if the screen is not looked at square on the other side of screen will have a cream color insted of white. I didn't have that with my old 21" hp. Is this normal. besides these two items. Its a great monitor.

So far, so good using this monitor. Price was right and Amazon got it here in a hurry using Amazon Prime.The picture is big and bright. EZ to install, set up, and use.

This monitor is either faulty or is way too bright, no matter how I change the settings. It is like staring in the sun. Called customer support who had me change the settings to the lowest brightness and contrast, still same issue. My kids refuse to use the monitor, saying they are blinded after they use the monitor after even one minute (yes, even on the lowest setting).I would absolutely not recommend this monitor.

I love this monitor- the screen won't get any fingerprints on it, it's compatible with HDMI, DVI and VGA, it is super easy to install, and the quality is beautiful- even on VGA, my PC looks amazing. A full recommendation from me!!

This is a really BIG monitor, it looks smaller in the picture. I have not tested it yet on my pc, because i ordered my pc later, but is not delivered yet. I use it for my PS3 now, and i am very Happy with it. it has 1 HDMI a DVI and an AGP. i would really recommend this product. it arrived on tome, and by the way, i got it for $130, a black Friday deal. The only thing that i didn't like that much, is that the buttons are on the bottom, instead of on the side of the monitor. But that was surely no deal breaker.

If you get the chance, buy it, don't buy LCD. For now Buy LED, until new technology like Laser coming out, is much better with the Slim and energy saver with the same amount of work productions. I was lucky enough to get $99.98 at Staples this week, pre-Black Friday 2011, cheaper by $30 on Black Friday.HP monitors seems to had the BEST viewing out of all monitors in my experience, while playing with major brand names at Fry's. All my systems has been HPs. This model offers 3M:1, lightweight, HDMI, VGA, DVI connectors come with DVI cable.So Far, so good. Recommended.

On the up side, it's thin and light and the price I got was quite good ($120 @ Best Buy for Black Friday). On the downside, the tilt range is limited, and for me that means I have to prop a pen under the base to get the angle I want. The image looks quite good to me, and is very bright. Tip: Initially I was having trouble getting a good picture without having the brightness up so high my eyes hurt, but I found out I needed to adjust the brightness/contrast in my video card and not just in the monitor to get a nice setting.

Excellent monitor with comfortable size for a desk, not too big, not too small. The matte finish screen is perfect if you place it across a window, so it does not reflect the light and still gives vivid colors even in a bright sunny day. I can compare it with the glossy screen of my macbook pro, placed next to it, and the difference is noticeable.It works fine when used as a second screen to my thunderbolt 13.3 inch macbook pro (the latest model from this year). But it has some problems in sleeping mode, especially when not used in its native resolution (1920 x 1080). It tends to wake up and then sleep in again and again. It does that even in the native res. (1920 x 1080) when the sleeping mode is controlled by the screen saver, otherwise if I put the laptop in sleeping mode through the OS X menu it behaves as expected. I suspect that the OS X driver, provided with the laptop, is not fully compatible with this HP monitor, and HP does not provide a MAC OSX driver, at least there was non in the accompanying CD. Of course, Apple's idea is when you buy a MAC computer, to buy a MAC monitor, too, even if it costs 10x more. So, if you plan to use it with a MAC, be cautious - it would work, but you may find strange things in its behavior!

very sharp and bright. In fact so bright that I am using brightness of 35 with contrast of 50. At best buy just paid black friday $120 on it. This is Very good compared to the 21.5 acer which was selling for $90 there.Wish it has speakers too as it has an HDMI port.Am using DVI with mac mini, no problems.Another plus (my opnion) : THe power button is a regular button at the bottom, as a regular button instead of the newer touch sensitive buttons (which are very finicky).

I bought it from HP directly. Everything else is fine but HDMI port it not working... I got replacement from HP promptly however, HDMI port of replacement monitor is also not working..However, you will get excellent resolution with VGA port... Fonts are crystal clear to read and colors are excellent.

Nice display with crisp graphics, and VGA, DVI and HDMI inputs. It's very thin and easy to set up. There are no built in speakers, which is fine for me. But I was a little disappointed by the lack of VESA mounting connection in the back. I can't mount the monitor to the wall or stands that support VESA mounts.

Just got this from Amazon. I ordered 2. Right away the power brick was dead on one of them. I had to call HP and get a replacement -- took 3 days. Good job on HP since they shipped it out right away. Once I got the monitor fired up, I noticed that I was having DVI issues. The picture just didn't look very crisp. I tested my Mac on the other monitor and it looked fine over DVI. I'm now connected over VGA and surprisingly the picture actually looks better than the DVI. So for now I'm using VGA, but I'm very disappointed by the quality thus far.The color calibration out of the box is atrocious. I've spent probably 20 minutes already adjusting the RGB of the monitor.

I personally don't like glossy screen monitor.This was one of the main reasons that I chose this monitor.It is very thin and doesn't take up too much space on my small desk.I like it very much!!!

I wonder, why this monitor requires must turn on when the system is starting up at same time?Otherwise, it won't detect the signal at all.Anyone have any ideas, please help.Thanks.

Good price, but UGLY angles, poor colors and sharpness. I expected more from HP.Considering the price you can by it, but better to look for something better.

Nice wide monitor at a decent price. Very good for watching movies as well. Did have problems with initial set up with the cabling to use but it all worked out in the end.

It's an awesome monitor. I went from a 18 inch LCD (the square type) to this, and it feels huge. Plenty of viewing real estate. I'm glad to go with this size and not any smaller. The monitor itself isn't enormous and has the same height as my old one, but about 6 inches wider. The look is very sleek. The screen is non-reflective without the hazy coating look, and the edge is shiny black. It feels quite light but not flimsy.The screen is really nice. Sharp and clear. The factory settings were too bright out of the box. Also, the color temp needed some manual adjusting too to get the white and colors to come out right. But, after you play around with the settings, it is absolutely fantastic.

The price is great and so is the value. Images for gaming and text are sharp and crisp. The monitor is lightweight and easy to place. Very, very easy to setup. I should have gotten this monitor long ago, it replaced a 19" CRT. Now I can work on wide statistical spreadsheets with no squinting. The only con is that the power button is on the bottom and tips the monitor a bit when pushed, I would have put the button on the side of the monitor.

The picture quality is great and functions perfectly. The color is amazing. It was easy to set up and use. For anyone who has vision problems with small type, etc. this is perfect.
