I had an old large 19 inch monitor that I had for at least 18 years. I have been looking for and reviewing a replacement for over 6 months. Wanting a low electric usage and well known company that make these monitors. I personally have had good luck with HP products. I like the black look, product seems very stable on desk, the picture brightness seems great, received product quickly (only problem was went to neighbors house instead to mine from I believe UPS), price was better than fantastic at the time I got it (from other products I looked at), and as usual Amazon is my favorite place to shop on the net. I know it will not support 3D. From other literature that I observed, 60 Hz is fine for this size screen. If you want to have it support HDMI, you will need to buy your own cable. But these are offered at Amazon at very reasonable prices. Would suggest this product to anyone who wants an LED monitor with a nice large screen from a company that usually makes a great product.

i ordered the product and it didn't take long at all for this product to get here. they are nice monitors. i know it isn't the best on the market but for the price and the companies quick delivery i give it a 5 star rating.

I have been buying 23-inch 1080p HP monitors for our engineering company for the last couple of years, and we now have more than 20 of them. The quality has always been impeccable (until now), and the price has been very reasonable (under $200). The few monitors I have purchased from other manufacturers have paled (literally and figuratively) in comparison. I recently started purchasing the LED HP2311x because it is thinner and lighter than our LCD models, and it is supposed to use less electricity. We now have 4 of them. A couple of people really like the screen's matte finish (all of our other monitors have the glossy finish) because the individuals in question have windows in their offices and do not have to deal with reflections. Most of us, however, find the matte image to seem less detailed and the colors to be less vibrant. The image just isn't as attractive. Furthermore, the last HP2311x we bought has had shadowing problems. When touched or moved the slightest bit, reds and whites begin to appear among the "real" colors (kind of a moir? pattern). After painfully long conversations with HP technicians, HP has finally decided to replace the new monitor with a refurbished one. We will see how that goes!

I was looking to upgrade my 19" Samsung LCD to a 23" LED. When i got the HP 23" LED i was very disappointed with the contrast. Black didn't show as black. My previous 19" Samsung did a much better job, so i felt like i was downgrading. So decided to give the 23" Samsung Led a try.I purchased my Samsung A23A300B from Microcenter on black Friday. This monitor was a keeper. It has far more contrast ratio than the HP. The blacks actually look black, It is rich in details and the colors look more natural. I like to edit photos and having a monitor to show true colors is essential to me.I also love the software that it came with called "Magic Tune" which allows me to change the monitor settings through simple mouse clicks rather then going through controls on monitor. The controls are touch sensitive by the way.Aesthetically the Samsung looks far more elegant then the HP. It is a lot thinner and lighter than the HP. Hp's thick side panels makes the monitor look bulky.

This is a very good monitor. It is an LED backlit display with a recommended resolution of 1920 x 1080. I use 3 of them on one computer using Eyefinity Multi-Display and it is great. Most of the time I have two monitors on when I work and it is nice to spread your open programs around to view several tasks at once.The monitor has a contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1 so the images are crisp and clear and the response time is 5 milliseconds. The monitor has three connection ports with VGA, DVI-D and HDMI and it comes with a D-sub connector to connect the VGA cable to a DVI-D port if you need it.The 23 inch diagonal screen size is great because I can expand the viewing size of software apps and reduce eye strain. It comes with a power supply cable, VGA cable and DVI-D cable so you have all you need including a cable management clip and a CD with instructions to set it up. I am happy with mine and I believe you will like it also.

Over the years I have tried a number of brands for LCD and LED panels. My smaller one was handed down to a friend and I started the shopping. I purchased another brand based on previous experiences. After returning two of them back to Amazon for different reasons right out of the box, I decided to pay a little more and get the HP one. WOW! It showed up in perfect condition with all of the different cables. The set up was very easy. The picture is amazing! Very bright and sharp!

I've been shopping around for a 23-24" led for quite some time and I'm pretty happy I got this one. I do think the Asus VE248H is more eye catching, but at the time, I got this monitor for $80 less.I'm not a big review guy, but I wanted to let people know I do not have any hdmi issues likes others on here. It worked right out of the box and it's pretty gorgeous. The preset calibration is quite harsh like people mentioned - just turn the contrast down to 50 on the text default view and reading will be fine. The stand is pretty wobbly, but not a big deal since I never touch it so it doesn't wobble - doesn't take up much room on my desk at all either.Overall, incredibly happy I got this monitor. Great for me for spreadsheet work, general web surfing, watching youtube, and looking at pictures.

I've had this monitor for about a year and a half and it's such a great monitor! I bought it at Best Buy because it was the cheapest for the size and it was on sale a little cheaper than Amazon. It looks amazing with my AMD Radeon HD 6900 running it. I really have nothing to complain about it. It's amazing.

The product itself is fine but the instructions leave something to be desired. The power switch is illustrated as being on the lower right of the front panel when in reality it is located on the BOTTOM of the right front panel.

For the price I think I'm getting a very good image. I'm not an expert and don't have lots of examples to compare it to, but I'm very pleased with it. I mainly use it for working from home doing software development, so I cannot really speak to things pertaining to multimedia use, although the little bit I've used it for viewing web videos and a few games seems very adequate.The physical components seem a bit flimsy, but I suppose that's to be expected with monitor toward the bargain end of the price range. It's fine for what I need, but might be a bit unstable in an environment where it could be bumped or otherwise physically shaken.

I liked the HP 2311x so much, I immediately ordered a second for matching dual monitors. I couldn't stand looking at my old Acer LCD once I saw the new LED technology. The color, contract, and detail are amazing! Whites are really white; blacks are really black. As a professional web/graphic designer, having a great monitor is non-negotiable. Plus, the price was $70 cheaper than Best Buy. Get one while they last.

Not what I expected, I talked to 3 HP sales agents who all promised me this was a glossy NOT a matte finish screen. I couldn't find anything to confirm that online and when I got the box I called again to confirm before I opened it. Needless to say they were ALL wrong. Bad sales info aside, I like the color repropduction much more on this one than my 2338h that I have had for a year(it malfunctioned 10 stinking days past the warranty and HP wouldn't budge).That being said this LED is brighter and the color reproduction is better(the 2338h puts a green tint to everything). I think the HP line is exceptional, I drooled over the 2338h for a year before I bought, it blew away the competition and this one is even better. I rated it for a matte finish screen which I don't like, but for a matte finish screen nothing else compares to it.I bought a 2310m for my friend for Christmas which has the glossy screen. That is the one I would recommend over this, but if you hate glossy screens then this is the way to go. To me the glossy screen makes the text a little smoother and sharper, so I will swap this out for either the 2310m or 2310e(LED version)I have bought 3 HP Monitors now, a 2338h which went bad 10 days after warranty and no consideration was made by HP. Next the 2310m I bought for a friend had a bad DVI connector, but the tech support guy is trying to convince him that the white connector is the poorer quality VGA and the blue is the better quality DVI, which makes no sense, so my friend is still trying to fight that so he can get it replaced and use the better (white)DVI connection instead of the blue VGA.Finally the bad sales information on this product is three strikes in my book. So buy HP because their screens IMHO are second to none, but their customer service is terrible. I also bought my mom an HP digital photo frame which was jacked up out of the box. So really 4 for 4 with HP. Buyer beware.

After 2 months of use, my monitor got a vertical white line. I emailed HP warranty support, and got a call back from HP. The person basically did not speak any English. They sent me a highly used replacement monitor, which was all scratched, and the image was dim and yellow, to the point that I cannot work on it without straining my eyes. The package says that FedEx pickup is not paid by HP, so I have to go in person to drop it off. Switching to the old monitor now, and never buying an HP product again (I had a very similar experience buying an HP server).

Not even 4 months in did the screen crap out on me. When turned on it displayed some sorted of white distortion even when the video cable wasn't plugged in. Customer service was alright. Basic troubleshooting first of course before the issuing of a warranty replacement. The new monitor shipped faster than estimated but only because I live within 2 hours from their warehouse.

I purchased the HP 2311x just over a month ago from Best Buy and already I have major issues with it. Mainly it loses the VGA/DVI signal after a while of having it on. You then have to hard reboot your PC to get it working again. And NO it is not my card or Motherboard, I tried it with different video card and tested my MB and it still crashed with no signal. My previous monitor was a DELL that I had for 4 years and this NEVER happened.I contacted HP Support and it was "horrendous", when I demanded a refund they put me on hold for an hour on two different occasions.Maybe this monitor works for some people but it definitely doesnt work for me. Its a piece of garbage.

Bought it from staples when they were on sale, and have been using it for last few weeks. It looks nice but does not have a good build quality. Seems to be made of light cheap plastic. Lot of people on different forums had issues with the picture quality. My monitor seems to be fine. However, it seems to have ongoing issues with waking up from sleep. When computer wakes up from sleep, monitor can not find any connection to computer even though it is connected to computer with the DVI cable it came with. Only way to get it to work is by powering off the computer and restart it. I guess these monitors are cheap for a reason. You get what you pay for!

This is a great monitor. A lot of reviews claimed that this was too bright. I adjusted the lighting when I first turned it on, and it is great for me. I recommend it!

I purchased this monitor directly from HP Home a few weeks ago and can say no troubles with it so far. It is nice looking and has a good picture. My problem is that nothing about this monitor is worth what I went through to get it. I spent over 4 hours on the phone with HP Home and Account Resolution support and have learned that you can NOT trust anything that they say. I would never order another HP Product as long as I live. I'd rather pay more and deal with a company that lives up to their word. You can read the very long story on my blog: dashingfordeals (can't insert link, search HP). Stay away from HP. They are interested in the sale and nothing else.

Got this monitor during Black Friday. Great price for a 23" monitor with HDMI. The screen has a bit of blue tint but since I am using as a secondary monitor (extended display) its ok with me. The only reason I took out a star is that the HDMI does not have a sound pass through and this monitor does not have speakers. Again, I use it as an extended display so I use the sound pass through from my primary display so it works fine with me.

My son picked this monitor out for me. I've had for a few monthes and the picture is bright, the size is great for my small desk. I get more screen with less space. Love it.

Decent color rendering, very clear image especially when using HDMI input. Very good price. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the base isn't adjustable for height.

This monitor is slim and the picture is sharp. The shiny plastic bezel looks good (if you don't mind shiny black plastic - it happens to match my laptop lid, so it was perfect for me). Everything works great and it was a great upgrade over my 19" LCD.The one key thing to point out is that the range of motion for the stand is not like in the pictures on the site. It will not lay flat. Actually, I'd say it has no more than 20 degrees of adjustment. So if you're buying it b/c you think it will be really adjustable, then you should probably keep looking. (That's why I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars.)
