Для программера пойдет и для тех кто работает с текстом.
  • + HDMI, Brand HP :),

I own this monitor for over a year and is very good for the price I got it for. This monitor have inputs for VGA (standard), DVI, and HDMI. If you want digital, you should connect it with DVI or HDMI. DVI is best for computer if your computer have it as output. HDMI is for everything else that uses HDMI as output. When using HDMI, you have to be very careful with what HDMI cable you use. This monitor is extremely picky with HDMI cable.I tried about 4 different brand of HDMI cables and only 1 works. Unfortunately I don't know the link to buy that cable. I was digging through my cables to try them all out. What I can tell you is choose a cable that have some circular thing on one end of the cable. Most HDMI cables doesn't have it around the cable, but the one that does might work. I can't say for sure that it will work. I'm only stating it because the one that I have that work has it. Just try your luck. It doesn't have to be HDMI 1.4 or newer. I would recommend trying at least a version 1.3. I think that's the one I'm using. All HDMI are not the same. I tested it and can confirm it's true. The one I use for this monitor have a very vivid color and brightness and other types are saturated in color. I tested on my HDTV on a PS3 with the same game and can tell the different. Here is a tip so your monitor won't stays on one signal. Your monitor can detect 3 different signal: VGA, DVI, and HDMI. Make sure go to your monitor Menu. In SOURCE CONTROL, select Auto-Switch Source, and select On. It is very important that you keep it that way. This will prevent you from choosing a signal you don't use and will lock you out. I find that select a default source will not help. If you accidentally HDMI, but your default source is DVI it will not get you back to DVI signal no matter if you're turning your monitor on and off. Soft reset might kick you into VGA mode. I don't use VGA cable so it would be a problem if you are like me. As long as the signal is on Auto, you should be okay.Don't bother contacting HP or ask in their forums for expert advice. I browsed their forums and there was no solution for HDMI cable topic. I discover my solution by trials and errors.Even if you manage to get the HDMI to work, there's no speakers or 3.5mm jack for audio. The only way I can think of to get digital sound is to hook it to a receiver then output it to your monitor. The receiver will divided the visual to your monitor and the sound to the speakers you hooked up on your receiver. If you don't have a receiver but not picky with analog sound you might be able to output the sound from a different source with RCA cable. Only if your device have that capability. Here are some examples. Blu-Ray Player with HDMI but can also output RCA sound. You hook the HDMI to the receiver then to your monitor and RCA cable to your speakers. It should work. PS3 can also output a secondary source for sound such as RCA. You have to do that in the sound setting and it will work. If your device can only output HDMI and no other audio output, then you will need the receiver or you will have to go without sound. This monitor produce good color, but far from great if you're doing color correction. The color doesn't pop out. If you're only want up to a standard level, this is one of them.No mounting or adjust angle. You just hook it to the stand and that's it.Placement of all the buttons are on the bottom of the monitor. This is not where I would preferred. Here are the reason. You cannot pile stuffs underneath your monitor or you can't reach to turn on the power without touching anything else. Pressing the button would wobble the monitor since it's light. My preference would have the buttons on the side instead of button. My hand wouldn't touch anything else because I'm not reaching under. It is also stable when press not wobbly. The buttons also felt very cheap. If you want a monitor with HDMI input, stay away from this monitor. You will have a rough time getting the HDMI cable that work.I got a very good deal on this monitor so it's very hard for me to complain. This monitor is better than other standard widescreen monitor with VGA/DVI if price is similar. If you're mainly looking for HDMI input monitor, you're best looking for something else.

This 23-inch HP display is an improvement over previous HP offerings in 3 regards. It's a cleaner, more elegant design, it's thinner and lighter, and it's more energy efficient. The primary improvement of this display is driven by its use of next-generation LED back-lighting instead of compact fluorescent bulbs, which contain mercury vapor. The benefit of LEDs is several-fold. One is the elimination of the mercury, which is an obvious environmental boon. Two is the significantly greater energy efficiency of the LEDs over the compact fluorescents. Three is that the LEDs are brighter and will maintain their brightness longer than fluorescent bulbs, which will extend the usable life of these displays. Four is that the LEDs are smaller, allowing for a thinner, lighter overall package. Finally, the LEDs give off a fuller spectrum of light than the compact fluorescent bulbs, giving brighter, more vibrant colors with greater saturation.Indeed, the display is noticeably thinner than previous iterations, and considerably lighter. The design appears less bulky, more svelte. They also decided to go to an all glossy black design, with some texture to give the appearance of two-tones. It's simpler than the two-tone silver and black of the previous HPs. I like the economy of this approach, which gives some appearance of sophistication without being too showy. The design is consistent with most of the HP line - clean lines, and simple, elegant forms, with understated repetition of the HP branding on the front and back.It comes in a very narrow box. You do have to do a bit of assembly, but it's trivial. I recommend testing the display before snapping it together, just it case you wind up deciding to return it, due to dead pixels or whatever. My display did not appear to have any dead or hot pixels. It seems that manufacturers no longer ship displays with such problems. This may be an issue of the past. One added bonus here in California is that you won't be charged the state-imposed $8 recycling fee, thanks to the elimination of the mercury. I don't think Amazon charges you that anyway. Some basic specs follow.-The display is 1920 x 1080 resolution at 60 Hz. It's not 120 Hz, so it cannot be used for 3D display in the future.-I find 23-inches to be a perfect size for general use. It seems smaller than it is because the margins around the display are smaller, so it doesn't quite feel like it's 23 inches large.-I like the option of having DVI or HDMI input. It has VGA too, but I consider that a total waste. The plug-ins at the rear are normal to the panel, and are much easier to access. On the previous versions, the connectors mounted in the vertical, making it a difficult, blind connection. Also, the power supply is smaller, due to the lower power consumption, and plugs into the display with a tidy little DC jack.-It is indeed a matte-finish display. I personally prefer matte finishes as they reduce room-lighting glare. However, the glossy displays do tend to mellow and smooth out the imagery.-There is a tilt-hinge, but height is not adjustable. There is some elevation to the display already, so most people will not care to adjust any further.I only have one caveat about this display. I'm not sure what to make of LED back-lighting technology for quality of light. The display is brighter, and there are myriad indisputable benefits to using LEDs. My concern is the quality of the color gamut. Some colors seems more vibrant, but at the same time, it also seems harsh and a bit washed-out. I couldn't find a way to tweak the brightness and contrast settings to adjust for this. Maybe it just requires some getting used to. For my needs it will be just fine, and I expect to get used to the difference. Others may find it a bit jarring. There is no doubt that most manufacturers will standardize on LED back-lit displays, so I figure we should try to get used to it. For graphic designers, or anybody for whom color matching is critical, this may be an issue.I tried the Samsung 23-inch LED display before this one but returned it because the text display on it wasn't smooth. To be fair, this may have been a display adjustment I failed to make, but the Samsung menus were not as simple and easy to use as the HP menus. The Samsung uses capacitive, touch-style controls, whereas the HP uses REAL BUTTONS. I know touchscreens are cool, but I think it's a mistake to eliminate real buttons altogether. The tactile feedback given by a proper button makes certain things much easier. When I've pressed a capacitive touch button and nothing happens, I'm always asking, "Is my finger in the right place? Did I actually press the button?" This is not an issue with real buttons.Note that the tilt-image above shows the previous generation HP 23-inch monitor. That's a mistake. This monitor does not have that range of tilt motion.Overall, for anyone considering a 23-inch display for general use, you cannot go too wrong with this product.

As a routine monitor replacement (for an HP w2207 in this case) and for basic needs (primarily text and photo archiving), this dandy monitor fills the bill. Its packaging is very good, all items arrived as expected (never had a problem with HP products, either), and the IKEA-like instructions were very easy to follow. This monitor is mated to an HPE h8 desktop under Windows7, and set-up presented no problems. Using the included DVI cable, the initial display was stunning to say the least. The presence of perpendicular cable plug-ins was a very welcome change from our HP w2207, too. Moving around the adjustment features was very similar to our old HP w2207 and we found very little tinkering was needed to get us going. If you really feel the need to make adjustments in the visual display, I recommend looking into the product review at CNET, as it might take out some of the guesswork here. For those who watch movies, etc., I did find the loss of detail in deep blacks as reported in some reviews. This monitor does show a deep, deep black, though the detail issue is not something critical for our needs. The anti-glare screen is a departure from the glossy black of our old HP w2207, but honestly, the colors and contrast on this 2311x are so vibrant anyway, that the issue here is not relevant.About the only other "shortcoming" in this monitor, and many others like it, is the lack of a vertical adjustment. You have to rely on the tilt feature. Again, this should not be a major issue for most users. Some reviewers have cited problems with the HDMI connection, but this is not a feature we needed, so cannot comment. Finally, a few also have lamented the lack of on-board speakers; but here again, we have our own set of add-on speakers (much better than the tiny ones included on some competing models). With many inexpensive speakers out there, this "lack" should not spell doom to an otherwise great monitor (at least for most folks). If you want on-board speakers, don't buy this monitor and then rate it down, just get a monitor with speakers. The monitor comes with the standard 1-year warranty from HP. Our experience with HP has shown their products to be reliable, and if needed, their customer support has been responsive, intelligible, and knowledgeable. Some other products I reviewed included 3-year warranties, but some looking at their product reviews showed problems with customer service, extended delays in getting replacement units, and having to pay for some shipping costs in some cases. Again, if I had been stung with warranty problems with HP, I might have a different opinion; however, a solid product can largely negate (though not entirely eliminate) potential problems. In all, this is a solid monitor, much in line with the reliability of our past HP purchases (computers, monitors, and printers). I have no reservations in recommending this for any basic monitor needs. The 23-inch display really is a sight to see. On this last point, it is a good idea to try and actually see competing monitors and to carefully read some of the reviews (both user and editor-type) before making the purchase. There are many products at this price point, and for our needs, HP has another winner.

Bought the HP 2311x backlit LED monitor to replace a 15" CRT - primarily to allow side-by-side display of windows, and to cut back on 12 hour a day electricity costs. Even though this $250 monitor sells for about $150 at Amazon and office supply stores, it is no bargain even at that price. I found many of the same problems mentioned in other reviews:1) Initial monitor came in with highly evident "sag" in the middle of all images - appears the plastic substrate that holds the LED's was bowed away from the glass, so created a swayback look to images. Even the replacement HP sent (after a couple of hours on support chat and on the phone to Bangladesh or India) has a bit of the bowed back appearance, so when you move your head up and down horizontal lines or borders in the image appear to bow down or arch up - VERY noticeable with a 23" wide monitor.2) It is impossible to adjust the settings to eliminate the blue caste that appears on light-colored and white images or backgrounds, and ALL the pre-set settings (Text, Movie, Gaming, etc) have VERY noticeable color misrepresentation or shadowing - you have to customize several settings to achieve anything resembling true image tones, and ALL settings still result in a very distinct blueish caste.3) there is significant color variation and "stray tones" that appear when you move your head or viewing angle even a small amount, and these are accentuated by the matte finish, which results in a "dirty" and fuzzy look to the image, and fuzzy edged text even at 9120 x 1080 resolution.4) On light backgrounds, there is a distinct moire pattern and shadowing that quickly gets quite irritating in spreadsheet and word processing use.5) VERY hard on the eyes at factory setting - you have to turn sharpness and brightness to 100, then reduce contrast to around 50-70 to eliminate the backlighting LED strobing effect at less than 100% sharpness and brightness, but this also accentuates the bluish caste problem.6) pure blacks are not consistent, and have stray colors scattered through it7) there is no pure white - all white images and backgrounds appear slightly and inconsistently blue and slightly "smeary" in pale pastel colors8) do NOT buy this monitor if you intend to place the middle of the screen above your eye level - the lack of forward tilt makes it impossible to view the screen straight on if it is above your eye level, and this accentuates the swaybacked image problem. You cannot shim the base any significant amount to forward tilt the monitor, because the base has a small footprintl and the monitor will tip over forward onto you.9) overall external appearance and cable connections are nice and it is VERY light, but what use is a pretty and easy to move monitor if it does not give good resolution and true colors.10) the 16:9 aspect ratio, as noted in other comments, makes the screen too "short" for full page document editing - should have stayed with the 16:10 ratio.11) We have Asus and Acer monitors (LCD) that cost about $50 more and give bright, true color without noticeable image defects - spend the extra bucks to get something that you will be happy with.

I built my first computer and decided that I wanted a good monitor below 200 and around 23"-25" and after searching around for some time I found the HP 2311x and I don't regret my decision on buying it.People say it move too much around when you use the buttons.Yes it is, it moves it a little bit because the base doesn't weight as much as the monitor but this is no problem at all. When I press the buttons it does wiggle a little bit and if the viewing angle is altered I just readjusted again, no big deal.It is so light. The reason why the monitor moves when you use the buttons is because it weights so little, is so light which is something I like because you see it and would think is heavy but its not, its light and well built. The only thing that feels a little cheap is the base because its kind of light. However the monitor will never flip over or something like that because of the base. It covers a decent area. Also if you put it against a wall, the base separates the wall from the monitor enough to leave space for the cable that go in the of the monitor.Vivid colors and resolution. The resolution of this monitor is great and the colors are very vivid and bright.Non-glossy screenWhen I see monitors or computers that have glossy screen I don't like them because:1. They reflect all light coming at it and then all you can see is light, not what you have in your screen.2. I feel non-glossy screens are less annoying in low light conditions. Sometimes I use it in a room at night with all lights off because my roommate is sleeping and I doesn't disturb my eyes if I decrease the brightness to its minimum.I'm not so sure about the setting options you can set it onIf you press the 2nd button with the "-" the settings available are: movie, photo, gaming, text, custom. I would say the best is text, i.e. you don't need the other settings because is my opinion they ruin the image. Text setting outputs the images's real colors.2 windows open fit perfectly.I can have 1 PDF (or anything else) and the word doc (or anything else) I'm working on and I can read both perfectly, for example if I would want to read the PDF and based on that be writing the word doc at the same time. I'm a student so it works great for me.Overall..This is a great monitor and would recommend it to anyone that is into non-glossy monitors, 23" screen and less that $200. I was doubting this monitor because of the reviews I read but I went for it and don't regret it. Any concerns you can reply here and I'll answer them as soon as I can.EDIT - It does have an HDMI input sorry

Review date 11/26/2011. Current price, $150(see note; bottom)This monitor is a 23" 16/9 aspect ratio (20" wide and 11-1/4" tall) 1080P display with a selectable VGA, DVI and HDMI input. It does not have speakers, nor a jack for them. Your paying for picture quality and screen size. I tried out all the inputs, one connected up to the computer, one to the HD cable box via a DVI to HDMI adapter, and the other to my old computer with the VGA. With them all running at once, I could change and view the inputs just fine. You have to press the input select button then pick your input. It's not as simple as an input button, but it only takes a few seconds to do so I didn't mind that. This size screen is perfect for someone wanting to watch TV (correct aspect ratio for most services), a gamer (wide screen), or someone that frequently uses multiple windows while on the computer. It does have an anti-reflective screen, but it's not one that makes everything look excessively hazy (a little white-ish depending on settings, but not hazy). There is a small and easily correctable issue with it detecting a signal. Basically, you need to turn the output device on before, or close to the same time as the monitor. It doesn't continually seek a signal; it's a small annoyance at most. It can be solved buy just turning the monitor off, then back on if that happens. I personally just leave the monitor on so that doesn't happen (it will go into sleep mode with no signal). Or I just remember to turn on the computer or whatever first, then the monitor. It uses virtually no power in sleep mode and that's just one less thing to have to do (sleep mode indicated buy an amber colored power light instead of the regular blue). This monitor does have an external power supply with a low voltage hook up (a power brick/adapter); it's not very big and is only an aesthetic problem if you can't hide it.The monitor is pretty light weight; it can be moved around or picked up with little effort.Settings, it has settings for various things like input selector, color, contrast etc, etc, etc... All monitors are a little deferent in the way your work them. Just read the instructions or just start playing around with it. I've never used one that I could not fiddle with enough to get it looking at least half decent. I was able to match the richness and tones of the color closely to my old RCA COLORTRACK 2000 on S-VIDEO (a very high quality CRT back in the day). So as far as accuracy of color and shading, it's not half bad at all.The image is pretty sharp for an anti-reflective screen depending on the quality of the HD signal, settings and room lighting. All and all this is a great monitor. Aside from the fact I prefer to have a shiny screen over a non-reflective one, I can't complain about it. It really is a pretty good monitor at the current price (date of review).***NOTE***The tilt description they show in the advertisement (the second one down) is no the actual base that you get with this monitor (the top one is). Still the monitor can be adjusted up or down enough I don't think it would be a problem for anyone, at least at eye level anyway.

For the price, this monitor is a great value. HP list price is $250 (on HP website), but I got it on Amazon for $179 (price fluctuates from day to day). Highlights:(1) The screen is indeed a matte finish. I dislike the more prevalent glossy screens, which reflect overhead lights. The bezel is a glossy black though. It can pick up stray reflections. I have no idea why glossy black is so fashionable in electronics these days. Well, I'm grateful at least that avocado isn't the color de jour.(2) Text, still images, and video display sharply and with clean colors. At work, the IT dept recently bought 21" monitors from another brand. Text is jagged. Images and video are washed out.(3) There is a full range of settings available controlled by four small switches at the bottom front right corner of the display. One switch brings up the main menu with 10 fields. The other three switches allow you to scroll up/down, left/right, and enter. It's a bit tedious, but you don't need to tweak all the settings. I mainly changed the brightness and contrast to suit my taste. There's a reset to factory settings selection in case you mess things up. The unit at work has horrible switches buried under the bezel that take a lot of pressure to activate.(4) The inputs provided are VGA, DVI, and HDMI. Although this is a 1920 X 1080 display, it's still useful to have a VGA input. You can use it with computers with only VGA outputs and be HD ready when you upgrade your PC. Another reason I chose this unit is because of the HDMI input. My laptop has VGA and HDMI, but not DVI. Many HD monitors on the market have VGA and DVI. You then have to buy an HDMI - DVI adapter. VGA and DVI cables are supplied, but not HDMI.(5) There are no speakers. But this is a thin profile display, and built-in speakers would probably be pretty bad anyway.(6) I'm running with WIN 7, 64-bit. No problems.(7) Mechanically, the unit is mediocre, but on a par with other units in this price range. It's stable sitting on a desktop, but be careful about bumping it. I have a 12 yr old NEC LCD monitor that's built like a tank, but it is only 15", has lower resolution, and cost $800 at the time. LCD panels and control electronics keep dropping in price, but mechanical components generally don't. Mechanical components are less robust than earlier generations to cut costs.(8) The stand has no vertical adjustment. The bottom of the screen is ~4" above the desktop. If you need to raise it, you can simply stack it on some books or sheets of paper if you don't want to buy an auxiliary stand. [[Note: The display snaps into the base. Once snapped in, you can't remove it. If you think you may need a lower position, don't snap on the base right away, in case you need to make a separate mount.]]Edit 11/25/2011. In the comments, R. Tadeo has corrected my statement on the mounting of the base. I have confirmed that there is a release button on the front of the base. I was not able to confirm, however, that the base can be removed. After what I considered to be a reasonable amount of wiggling and tugging, I was not able to remove the base. I didn't want to tug any harder, because I was concerned that I would break the unit. R. Tadeo indicated that considerable effort is required to remove the base.(9) Note that the tilt is very limited. HP spec is 0 to +25 deg (that is, tilts up, but not down). As another reviewer has noted, the picture on the Amazon listing is incorrect. This range is OK for normal desktop viewing, but not OK if you place the monitor on a high shelf or mount it high on the wall.

Firstly, for the price I paid for this monitor ($75 using coupons @ staples), it deserves 5 stars as it far exceeded my expectations, but 10 months into my purchase it started having weird flicker at random. Sometimes the flicker lasts only a few seconds and sometimes, I just turn it off after waiting 5 mins. The flicker is more like a moire pattern of colors. After testing with various sources and input methods, I finally talked to hp support who were courteous and knowledgeable, but the amount of time they take (more than an hour each time I had to call) turns you off from dealing with them. Anyhow, they sent me a refurbished replacement which I was shocked to see that it had an even worse moire pattern from get go. Another hour on the phone and they said it was rare that such mistakes happen and wanted to send me another refurb, which arrived a week later and had the exact same problem. I would have believed it was my computer if not for my other monitor working fine on the same connection and this monitor showing the same problem with windows desktop, mac laptop and a tivo. After another hour long call, they wanted to send me another refurb at which point I refused to accept that as a resolution to my problem and finally they get me over to a US based support person who promised me that they will replace it with a brand new one this time and to my pleasant surprise they are sending me an IPS version of this monitor as replacement (HP 2311xi). Hope they fixed the issue with their new breed. While it worked, it was pretty good for a budget monitor. It's very light and looks great. Wish the stand was more adjustable. Also the TN panel on this particular model is of just typical budget quality. Next to a new 27" IPS I now see how pale everything looks in comparison, but then again I paid more than 5 times as much for the 27".

This appears to be the stock monitor HP is shipping with its desktop computers right now. The image is very sharp, the monitor thin and light.I'll say up front the one thing I don't like about this monitor - I've put it on an Apple desktop and laptop - is that when the computer awakens the screen from sleep, the HP causes the computer's display driver to rescan it, so the screen goes white, then black a couple of times before stabilizing. I worry about what this does to the video card after a few thousand iterations. I have a ViewSonic VX2433wm 24-inch WideScreen LCD Monitor (not available locally any more) that keeps its signal to the computer constant even after turning off the screen, so that when the computer wakes up its output, the image instantly appears on the screen, with no video reset. One other slight advantage of the ViewSonic for adding to a laptop is that it can tilt slightly downward, so that if you have it elevated above the laptop monitor, you can tilt it orthogonal to the line of site. The HP tilts to 90 degrees an no more.Blessedly, the monitor makers haven't been sucked into the glossy screen fad the way Apple has. I would have bought an iMac instead of this screen and desktop if it weren't for the mandatory glossy screen on the iMac. This HP is nicely matte, with little in reflected artifacts. There is growing concern about the amount of melatonin-suppressing blue wavelengths that are twice as strong in LED displays as in LCD displays (Cajochen, et al. 2011. Evening exposure to a light-emitting diodes (LED)-backlit computer screen affects circadian physiology and cognitive performance. J Applied Physiology 110: 1432-1438) . This HP display fortunately allows you to reduce the blue by choosing a cooler color temperature; whether this compensates enough I do not know.**** Postscript ****After using the monitor for a few days, I discovered that I was getting eyestrain with it, an experience I never got with the ViewSonic VX2433wm. I did some investigation to figure out what was going on, and found that quite a number of people complain of eyestrain from LED monitors. In both LED and CCFL LCD monitors, if you turn down the brightness, it achieves this by strobing the backlights. So I made sure to set the brightness to maximum. One can turn down the emitted brightness then by lowering the contrast, so the LCD layer blocks some of the backlight. I jimmied around with contrast, color, and temperature, all to no avail. The LED display actually has a continuous spectrum, while the CCFL has more discrete bands, making the LED more like natural light. Yet, my eyes got very tired looking at it. All I can think is that the deep blue spike in the spectrum of LEDs does something to exercise the focus muscles in the lense --- otherwise, I have no theory for why my eyes got tired on it. At any rate, I returned it, and ordered the twin of the VX2433, the ViewSonic VA2431WM 24-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor, which came quickly and is gorgeous and easy to look at.

I got this monitor on Black Friday 2011. I use it at home for school work. The first thing I noticed was the brightness was pretty low. I increased the brightness setting all the way to the max and it is just acceptable now. It also did not have speakers, but I have headphones, so it wasn't a huge issue. About 6 months into owning the monitor, I began to have issues with the screen flickering and the HDMI port not working. The flickering got worse and I found the only way to make it go away was to wiggle the monitor connection from my laptop to the monitor. I called the customer care and they told me to replace the cable. I did, same problem. Finally, after hours of troubleshooting with some Indian guy on customer care, they gave me a refurbished one with a return shipping label to send back mine. Both previous issues were resolved. Now it is about 8 months into this refurbished monitor, I am having another issue where it shuts off randomly and only turns back on if I unplug the power source and replug it in. This was a temporary solution, apparently, because now it doesn't turn on at all. I am fairly certain my warranty was for 12 months. Let's see, 6 + 8 = 14. Oh great, I now have an expensive paper weight. I will never purchase an HP product again. Poor quality all around.Pros: Cheap cost, big monitor, saves power (although I never tested this fact)Cons: Poor quality, no speakers, 3 issues in 14 month span, out of warranty on last issue

so i bought one of these monitors last year, it actually had worse reviews then then now, but i bought it anyways ( at best buy ) this new one ( the one i got from amazon ) is like i thought, just fine, no problems, sure its not a apple cinema, of a supper high res or supper high contrast, or a 27 in, but hey, for the 150 i payed for it, its freaking great, fast response time, no side or light spot problems at all, i give it a 4 star, because i myself on other things have had a night mare of a time with hp, on customer service ( why they think hanging up on someone, who is trying to buy something from them, when they don't have a warranty on it, because they haven't bought it yet, is good service? i never could get a response from them to explain how it was ) but they do make a few thing that are good, like this led screen, i like how it has a vga, hdmi, & dvi port, so i can use it with anything now, thats a good thing, software? divers? never needed them, and never would want to download them ether, it works great as a plug and play ( didn't hurt that i built my computer and new how to set it up for dual monitor setup ( took 5 second with the windows 7 properties, so yea, really a 5 star but there past makes me cut them down a star,

3 STARS FOR A NICE PICTURE BUT I HAVE A MAC MINI AND NO WHERE IN MY SEARCH FOR INFORMATION ABOUT THE PRODUCT DID SAY IT`S SOFTWARE IS INCOMPATABLE WITH A MAC,BEFORE I ORDERED THE MONITOR.ONLY WHEN I CALLED THE OVERSEAS HELP LINE DID I REALIZEDTHE PROBLEM. THE POOR OVER SEAS EXPERT ADIVSED I SHOULD CALL APPLE FOR A SOLUTION. ACOUPLE OF YEARS AGO I HAD THE SIMILAR EXPERIENCE OVER A HP PRINTER PROBLEM WHICH NO BODY COULD SOLVE AFTER A NUMBER OF CALLS.I FOUND THE SOLUTION USING THE OLD TRICK OF RE INSTALLING THE SOFT WARE.THE EXPERTS SOLUTION WAS TO GET A "GREAT DEAL" ON A NEW PRINTER.I VOWED THEN NEVER TO DEAL WITH H P AGAIN. WHY DOES A COMPANY WITH A GOOD PRODUCT REFUSE TO OFFER GOOD LOCAL HELP WHEN NEEDED.THE ANSWER IS TO SAVE A BUCK.IT STINKS AND IS NOT WHAT MADE AMERICA GREAT OLD DOC

This is my 2nd HP 2311x, only one was bought from Amazon the other was from Staples. The one I got from Staples was $180 and I thought that was a good deal, so when I saw Amazon selling them for $150 I quick and bought a 2nd one.Likes:1. Light, I travel quite often and it makes for easy transport2. Port connections in the back of the monitor are facing out instead of down. This makes it so much easier to connect and disconnect cables for the monitor. A 3rd world problem I know, but it's the little things that make this monitor great.3. Power efficient. This is LED back lit and the default sleep time for these monitors when nothing is connected is only a couple of seconds.Neutral:1. No speakers. I use both of these monitors with my laptop which obviously already has speakers so I wasn't wanting a monitor that had built in speakers.2. Color representation. I'm unsure if it is just with the type of connection or if the monitors are slightly different because of the manufacturing process, but the monitor that is connected view VGA has deeper colors than the monitor that is connected via HDMI.3. Limited movement. At the time of writing this review I couldn't think of a better term, these monitors with the included stand only support the normal 15 or 25 degree tilting. No rotate, swivel, or height adjustment. No star reduction because I wasn't planning on using these monitors that way.Slightly Irritating:1. My laptop constantly wants to output audio via HDMI to my monitor, as mentioned above doesn't have speakers. No reduction of stars because it would be the same with all monitors and can easily be changed via the OS.2. Monitors move too easily. Because they are so light, the slightest touch, (turning it on, or connecting one of the display cables), will cause the monitor to move. Again though, no star reduction because I don't mind this. The HP 2311x is a great monitor at $180, and is a terrific deal at $150. Although the lack of rotate, swivel movement, height adjustment and VESA mounts could possibly be a deal breaker. If you catch it when the price is above $180 I'd wait, because the price is almost always cheaper.

I had been using a 32" Toshiba screen for my Xbox, PS3, Wii, AND my PC and decided I wanted to untangle my PC out of that mess and multitask games and my PC. So I bought one, and gladly unboxed it, set it up on my desk, plugged it in and BAM. perfect HD quality. SO what did I do? I bought another one for the same PC. I'm writing this review and watching Netflix at the same time. Totally worth it. Sorry I don't have much else to say about it. Not a big tech guy when it comes to display monitors. All I know is it was affordable and it's Hewlett Packard. My most trusted company when it comes to computers. I bought my own tower when I was 14 and it lasted me 7 years. Figured why not keep it in the family.

I originally bought one of these monitors back in 2011 and still have it. I recently got a new graphics card that supported duel monitors and decided it was time to get another one. I enjoy the sleek, spartan look of HP's products so when it was time to pick I searched for the same monitor. I received it in excellent condition and had it set up in under a few minutes. The only "flaw" with it is the fact that since it is a newer monitor the dimensions of the frame and stand are about 1/4 of an inch higher than the one I bought in 2011. Hardly a problem but something to consider for the individual that demands uniformity in their workstation.

My Samsung syncmaster 226BW was slowing dying. It had begun flickering every time it was turned on or woke up and was gradually taking longer to stop. As it was over five years old I decided to replace it rather than repair it. I decided on the HP monitor as it was a nice size for a modest price. It arrived in two days and was very well packed. Assembly time was about twenty minutes and has been working perfectly for me about two months now. All in all a very satisfactory purchase.

I got 2 of these monitors about 13 months ago for less than $100 from a local office store. One is still working and the other went bad last week around 13 months just when the warranty is out. First, the resolution went very grainy and the color is way off. Then the hdmi and dvi ports don't work anymore. Fortunately, I did not pay too much for them otherwise I would be very upset. I have a 5 year old Dell and Acer LCD and they are still working without any problems. I am quite disappointed with the quality of the cheap components HP is using these days for its products. I would NOT recommend this monitor because they don't last.

I purchased two of these monitors and have been very pleased with them. I can have numerous documents and browsers open at once without having to switch back and forth between open windows.Color is great, tilt and height adjustable, easy installation. I use one with HDMI and one with DVI to VGA - HDMI is definitely better.

I already knew what monitor I wanted and Amazon had it for the best price. It arrived on the due date and was well packaged. Instructions were clear and product is as advertised and as expected. Image is very good, it's not too heavy and you can move the monitor on its base fairly easily. I like the style of it and at 23 inches it makes a perfect desk screen for a laptop.

I just bought this monitor at Best Buy for $180. I had my heart set on the Dell u2410 for a long time, because I work on two of the 22.5 inch versions of the same monitor at work, and was always very impressed with them over the cheap LCD monitors you see at the stores. But after shopping at 6 different stores and comparing all the brands in person, and originally believing Acer to be the best of the cheap monitors, I came across this HP one and instantly liked it. It's just as bright and sharp as the Dell monitors; in fact it's really bright, brighter than my Wacom Cintiq 21ux tablet, but I like it because my old CRT was so dark I could barely see anything; and almost as light as a frisbee. Most of the LCD monitors you see at the stores are TN monitors, which is a type of LCD that has a problem where the screen starts going dark if you view it from below the horizon. This is why they're cheap. Monitors like the Dell ones are IPS, which is a more advanced, and more expensive, type of LCD. So the fact that I found this monitor that didn't have the problems of the TN monitors nor the price of the IPS monitors is awesome. For those of you shopping out there, HP always makes really good monitors. Their LED monitors are better than the Viewsonic LED monitors, I can vouch for that by virtue of the fact I compared them in person at two different stores. The HP 2511x is larger and just as sharp, but is a gloss pane monitor (the screen is reflective glass) which makes you feel like you're staring at yourself the whole time you're using your computer. Why HP does that I'll never know. But this 2311x is a matte pane monitor. So, I'd buy this over any other 23 or 24 inch monitor on the market right now. I'm thinking of buying a second one because it was so cheap and the quality is awesome.

I bought this as a replacement for a monitor that was knocked off my desk. It had a wonderful price and arrived in two days. It was very simple to set up, and I had it up and working in less than 20 minutes ( most of that time was spent removing all the little bits of plastic packing strips that were on many of the smooth surfaces, and deciding which kind of connection I wanted to use). You can connect with either of the two cables provided, or use your own HDMI cable. Beautiful color and great size.
