The HP4430S laptop series is a great entry level laptop. I was on a small budget for a new laptop and after searching all manufactuers, ebay and other resources for new or used laptop I concluded buying this (brand new) laptop and upgrading the ram ($44 from crucial) would yield the best bang for my buck.I was right. This laptop meets my expectations.Windows 7 starts and resumes very fast. With the upgraded ram to 8G total and 2 cores + 4 threads this thing can certainly multitask. The partially aluminum shell is very nice and strong - the unit is light weight and doesnt get to hot after more then an hour or two of use.Buy this if you like the specs - it is well worth it.

It's as described. however it's not very user friendly when it comes to adjusting the screen. Compared to the LG monitor that I've purchased a month ago, I prefer the LG. Shipment was on point. over all experience was good.

This laptop is a really great computer. It has a magnificently designed metallic finish and just looks exceptionally great. The "chiclet" keyboard is easy to type into. As for the machine itself, the computer is fast and responsive. There's too much trial software though and it certainly makes the computer lag especially when dealing with sound. I've uninstalled the trial software and the computer still lags a bit. Otherwise the computer itself is great for college which is the reason I bought it.

I've had the monitor for a day and it's excellent. It's connected to my aluminum MacBook and after a one-time setup (see below) the picture is sharp and clear and the colors are true to my eyes. It was fun watching a video at [...] with it. I bought it for its size and the 23 inch display is perfect for me. I can fit a couple of windows side by side so it's reduced the need to juggle windows. The picture controls are easily accessible and intuitive to use (unlike my old 19-inch Samsung that the HP is replacing). I'm not using the internal speakers because I have a desktop sound system that takes little space. So far I have nothing negative to say but if something comes up I'll update my review.I considered getting the Apple 24-inch display. But at almost $900 vs. ~$250 for the 23-inch HP there was no contest. I've seen the Apple in the Apple store and it looks great. But so does the HP. I suppose if you put them side by side there could be visible differences. But I'll probably never see them side by side. I am also not a graphics artist who may have more exacting needs and a different opinion. The Apple has some nice features such as USB ports, a cable (more about that later) and a built in video camera which I don't need. Cables and USB ports cost me ~$60 so I'm still way ahead financially. A great value in comparison.I'm a recent PC-to-MAC switcher so there were some things that I had to learn about which I went through with my old monitor. I'll mention them here in case they are useful for a new MacBook switcher like me who is adding their first external monitor.1. Two cable devices are needed. One is Apple's mini display port to DVI adapter. Cost ~$30. Then you need a DVI to HDMI cable to go from the Apple adapter to the HDMI monitor input. Cost ~$10 to $15 on Amazon from any number of vendors.2. The MacBook has to be powered for the external display to work. The MacBook will not feed a signal to the external display when running on battery.3. (There may be a better way to do this than I am aware of.) With the monitor plugged in and on and the MacBook display on, select displays from System Preferences. There should be an Arrangement item near the top of the preference window. If Mirror Displays is checked uncheck it. Follow the instructions on the screen to arrange the two displays so they are side by side. Then click the Display option. At this point there should be two display option preference windows on the screen, one for each display. Fiddle around with them until you have a sense of what's going on. Then set the Resolution for the HP to 1920 x 1080. If you have been panicking up to now because your resolution was terrible, you will be amazed as the resolution snaps in.4. At this point you can close the MacBook and just have the single HP display operating. When I do this the MacBook goes to sleep and the screen goes black. But pressing any key quickly wakes it up.5. Still in Display preferences click the Color option. When I did that the Display Profile for the HP was magically there (HP w2338h). I don't know how it got there because the computer is six months old and I think the monitor is very recent. Maybe it gets it from the monitor or does an automatic download from the Internet. In any event, I didn't question magic. I selected the profile and I was done.The setup is a one time thing. Now every time I reconnect the monitor to the MacBook the video comes up with the settings.

My screen died in a little over a year on my lap top that was the prior model. I heard that this was common on hp laptops unfortunately. I got a quote to get it fixed but it was several hundred and I had no assurances that it would not happen again.I dont think it is a cooincidence that it croaked just out of warranty. I think planned obsolecenece is quite alive with HP.This would explain why they are trying to get out of the computer business.

Really happy after having a 23 led 1080p Matte Screen Samsung XL2370-1, HP please keep releasing Glossy Screens, Picture is way better than Matte, reflections would depend on your room lighting, but for me Glossy is way better than Matte, even with reflections, picture quality is much better.Color and Contrast really pop up and it has similar feeling to my Plasma which of course it is Glossy as well!I will never buy a Matte screen!

These cartridges perform perfectly. I have tried several generic inks and they cannot compare to OEM for clarity as well as number of pages printed.

My sister has this monitor on her HP and it is great! The display is very clear with crisp detail.I was going to pick one up from amazon to hook up to my laptop but I didn't move fast enough on it and the price on this unit has gone up considerably from the first time I saw it about 4 months ago.

I just got this last night and finished configuring it this morning, I removed anything to do with Aero and now it's a nice fast machine. The desktop now looks like my windows 2000 machine.This looks to be the base configuration for this series and the i3 along with 4 GB of ram works very well. The display is better that my Dell Latitude was before it died and overall it's nice and snappy. Now that it is configured I'll Ghost it so I can get back to this point anytime I want. We'll see what it's like in 6 months.

Apparently this cartridge came from France when the troops returned home after WWII. It is old, print quality is worse than a dot matrix, with light areas, streaks and repeating pattern.The paperwork with it indicates that this is a product packaged for France, as all return/recycle labels are for Europe. It is unusable, and since I waited past the return time to actually install it, I'm stuck with this lesson in buying cheap from this seller.It is in what appears to be HP packaging.

I had a Printer once that the Cartridges would cost me over 80 Bucks plus Tax, after looking for a Printer with less expensive Ink Cartridges several years ago I found the HP Photosmart All-in-One Printer-Scanner-Copier which uses HP 92-93 Black and Tri-Color Cartridges. I never had any problems and replace them just about every month, they are on the Lower Price-Chart and I am Happy with the price at Amazon.com, the Combo Pack is a much better Price than my last place where I live and on top of that I had to pay the State Tax. Considering how High the Price of Ink Cartridges are and how little time they last, I am Glad I found them here, the Best Price that's for sure and Free Shipping! Thank You

all monitors i have recieved were in terrible condition. they all have dents and dings in them all over. the screen is fine but in all the quality of the overal product is low

This computer is the most bang for the buck. Tax free laptop makes theprice even better. Its weight is very less and makes it easy to move around. Ilove the fingerprint reader, because you don't have to type and passwords when logging intogmail, chase, and etc. I love this thing.

Pros: decent system configuration (fast CPU and hard drive, reasonable amount of memory, fingerprint reader, webcam etc.); no overheating.Cons: laptop spec misleading in terms of form factor (it's not actually 1.1 inch but indeed about 1.4 inch thick in the back); touchpad a little cumbersome; keyboard not very friendly (up/down arrow keys got squeezed, esc key occasionally stuck).

Bought this display after reading several reviews on this product, and I my initial response, I must say, is quite positive.Received it yesterday and the packaging was good, the stand snapped together rather effortlessly, and the display worked and looked great as soon as there was a signal present. The applications for which we will be using this display may probably never require a color calibration so I can't comment on the accuracy of the colors or the ease of fine-tune adjustments, but I am happy with it's design -very thin and lightweight. A little less glossy and reflective might have earned it a full 5 stars, but for the money, this thing rocks!Got lucky as the price has been bumped up $20 since my purchase. HP has done it again.

This laptop is great for the value. My only complain is that HP could have used a higher quality LCD. In order to satisfy my eyes, I had to play around with graphic settings until I found something suitable. Not a big deal and only a minor hiccup when looking to buy a replacement computer on a budget. Overall its been great. I recommend installing a fresh copy of windows, you can find drivers on HP.com. The computer comes loaded with bloatware.

My old 19" CRT finally started to go flakey so I looked around and decided to go with this 2511x as a replacement. I do use an LCD monitor at work and have always preferred the display on my home CRT. I was absolutely stunned by the image quality on this HP monitor. I'm not a gamer and use this system for business applications, programming, web development and for photo.document scanning and display. I highly recommend it.

It is really the best monitor I've ever owned. Great for movies. Great b/w and colored resolution with text and graphics. And, you can't beat the price! Nice job HP! Now, if you could just cool down your laptops...they are ridiculously hot.

Overall this is a decent monitor, I use it on my iPhone 4 with Apple's digital HDMI adapter the Netflix HD movies look very nice,, the picture is crisp and the color is good, the biggest drawback is the audio. The internal speakers sounds cheap, has no match to the audio system on my setup, to make it worse HP didn't even put an audio line out jack, there is no way to connect it to my audio system, but strange enough, there is a mic/line in jack, what's the point? (I didn't review carefully before I bought it, I assume it was a line out jack.) Once I find out how to crack open the case, I will do do some rewiring of my own, convert the jack into a line out jack.
