Good deal

Changed my review to 4 stars. There are only two fan connections on this board. The case fan slot does not provide enough juice. I purchased a splitter to add more case fans and my big 140mm fan is selectable from 600rpm, 900, and 1200. The fan has only one speed unless I plug into the cpu fan slot and split that. Not a big deal for some, but it’s not a good design.

Bought the Ryzen 5 2600x, gigabyte motherboard and crucial 16GB ram combo. System runs great. Over clock the ran by using profile 1 in the RAM tab in the bios. Was easy as just picking a tab that boosted my ram to 3000 frequency.

big improvement

I ordered this to use with my new Ryzen 2600x. I am upgrading from an Fx8600. I was able to overclock my video card (RX4700) higher than ever before. My only issue is a serious design flaw....the video card plugged into the X16 PCI slot covers all but 2 of the SATA ports. I am able to plug in my SSD boot drive and one 1TB hdd, but not my second HDD.....not too big a deal as I do plan on upgrading to an M.2 SSD when I can.

Motherboard worked right out of the box. No updates required for AMD Ryzen 3 3600

Built a Ryzen 3, 3600 build for inexpensive home unit - not for gaming. If I was building a gaming rig it would have a Ryzen 7 or maybe a Ryzen 5, ha ha.
Everything worked right out of the box and no updates were needed. Turned it on, installed a USB Thumb Drive with Windows 10 on it and just sat back and relaxed. Everything went as expected. Ram was recognized as advertised. NVMe memory works well with no issues.

I would wait and buy the motherboard when on sale for about $20 less, ha ha. Two fan headers are fine for me since the whole system creates almost no heat. Processor is only 65 Watt under full load and idles at about 45 Watts. One 120 mm front fan in my case keeps the whole system nice and cool. Can't even hear the front and CPU fans run on my desktop. Good buy but did have to wait for Ryzen 3 processor to arrive since it was back ordered because of Black Friday. But Amazon got the order out quickly when the processor did arrived. Would buy this board again and it fit my Micro ATX Case just fine.

bad physical design

the placement of screw holes are bad. there is only one screw hole along the right edge of the board in the middle. Which leaves the top right and bottom right corners without support. Also, placement of the screw hole in the middle along the right edge of the board is unusual. I had to drill a hole in my computer case to install a support. The manufacturer should make the board wider so that it can be properly supported by the standard placement of the standoffs. If i knew of this issue, I would not have purchased this board.

Mine failed 2 weeks in; and there's a Wi-fi version now.

I used this in the first system I had built in over a decade. For two weeks, everything looked like it was going well. Then the Mobo died. I'm currently in the RMA process to repair/replace it. Doesn't mean it'll happen to you, of course.

Two notes though:
- There's a recently released Wi-Fi version of this board (the imaginatively-titled "B450M DS3H Wi-Fi"), which didn't exist when I ordered this. I'd recommend that board over this; it's difficult to fit an internal Wireless card on the non-Wi-Fi version.
- The BIOS version I had on my board when it arrived was F4, which means you'll have to do an update before installing a 3rd-gen Ryzen CPU. If you don't have a 1st/2nd gen Ryzen to use for this, AMD does have a loaner CPU program that'll get you up to date.

NEEDS BIOS UPDATE

This product does not the updated BIOS to work with Ryzen 3rd gen CPUs as of Aug 1st. To work with Ryzen 3rd gen CPUs, the motherboard needs a BIOS update, which has to be done with another older CPU. AMD has a "Boot Kit Loan" program where they will ship you an old CPU (you must return it), the BIOS can be updated, and then the Ryzen 3rd gen installed.

However, this is a lot of hassle, and more than a week delay. I would steer clear until this motherboard is sold with an updated BIOS.

Bios????

Well mine did come with ryzen3000 ready,but you have to update the bios to f40 ,so I have no display ,I did read that if you contact AND try can give you a Athlon sou to use so you can update the bios contact them first,so I'm going to try it if not I'll have to find a ryzen 200xx.
But just so you know I'm useing Thermaltake RGB heat sink And corsair vengeance RGB pro memory sticks and they all look beautiful in this machine too bad I can't use it yet. That's why only 4 stars.

Easy install.

I needed a new board for a fresh build, and I love that all the pins on the board are labeled. It makes plugging things in where they actually belong a bit easier. Took me about 2 hours to assemble the computer, but only because I built it out of the tower first to make sure all parts were correctly working. The extra RGB plugin is an added bonus, and the board lights up for the LAN connection, so it looks really cool. I did have to install an update for the BIOS in order to access any settings, but that is completely doable.

Not brand new. Sketch packaging. Poor design.

I got this mobo and everything seems to check out fine so its a functional board. Some issues I found:
-Missing security seal on box
-Basic indistinct IO shield (seemingly like a mass produced generic)
-No original instruction booklet
-location of usb 3.0 hd audio and power pins is 100% ignorant. They are right under the 2nd pcie long lane. if you have even 1 fan card or any sort of card that has length or girth you cant plug usb 3.0 without an extra solution.

This screams refurb. I would advise buying newegg or elsewhere. This is a refurb board at a new board price.

The onboard video requires the "g" at the end of the processor name

As far as I can tell, so far, this is a decent board. The most important thing to know is to buy the AMD Ryzen™ Desktop Processors with Radeon™ Vega Graphics. As far as I can tell, that would be the Ryzen 3 3200g or the Ryzen 5 3400g. I am not sure how much of a difference there would be, performance wise, between these processors, but the Ryzen 5 3400g ($149 on Amazon) is about $60 more than the Ryzen 3 3200g ($89 on Amazon).

Good and bad

I have always had good luck with Gigabyte motherboards. I have used 2 Aorus boards and 1 gigabyte board in three builds I have done. They have always worked fine. This board comes in slightly cheaper than some other B450 boards. My biggest problem is there is only 1 case fan header. Who only installs one case fan? Now I had to buy a fan hub - which is more money I could have used towards a better motherboard.

This motherboard has no RGB 3 or 4 pin support either. A $10 more expensive board from Aorus has RGB headers and multiple fan headers. Good board in a pinch or tight budget but if you can afford a little more money buy a better board with more features.

Does the bare minimum but does it well.

It’s a reliable mobo, but you could get another mobo for around the same price that is more modern. This mobo doesn’t have ARGB or WiFi/Bluetooth (but there is a version of it that does). It does have a RBG header that is called “CPU LED” right behind the audio jacks. You can control the RBG lights with Gigabyte’s RBG Fusion, which is a terrible piece of software that doesn’t work properly most of the time. Make sure you update the bios or you may have trouble with Windows 10 reserving half of your RAM, just like me. I have no complaints with this mobo and i will be using it for quite awhile.

Affordability

This Mobo is great for the price. Headers are easy to access when installing and overall its a solid board. I have very little I can complain about this board. I mean it was 75 dollars, Theres not too much quality of life in this board. Its the bare bones straight forward board you buy when you spent your whole budget on a GPU and CPU and you're trying to cut a few bucks from other places to make the difference. It has all that you need, and the Bios interface is pretty easy to navigate and really straight forward for first time builders. If you want a board with more quality of life i recommend getting a MSI or Asrock Steel legion board. But for those who dont need the extras or would rather use the money on buying a better part for their PC, I really cant recommend this enough. I dont think you should go any cheaper than this board. i mean PCIE x16, 1 M.2 sata, 4 Dimm slots, and a possibility to overclock "safely" (overclock at your own risk). That really all you need in a board.

Love Gigabyte boards normally, but this on was DOA.

Got this board today to upgrade the wife's old home PC build. Every build over the last decade has been with a Gigabyte board....no issues...until today. This board arrived dead on arrival. No post, no BIOS, nothing. Validated all the wiring, and removed any unnecessary stuff to make it run just to be sure it wasn't something else, but nothing. Too bad.... now I have to order something else and wait some more...wife won't be happy.

Excellent MLB for the money

For the price you can't go wrong with it, If you complain about anything... there's something wrong with you. It just works and it works well.
Is it a high end MLB and works as such???
Probably not, but if you don't forget how much it cost than you'll be fine.
I got it in my office bundled up with RYZEN 3 2200G 3.5Ghz, a NVME Samsung 512 Gb and a 5 TB WD, it is on 24/7 for months now as an Ubiquiti surveillance NVR. I never had a problem with it NEVER!

Dead on arrival

So I’m running an AMD 3600 and the motherboard does indeed have power going through it, but will not display anything! I also have a Radeon RX570 and tried to plug it in there and see if that would work lol ... NOPE. So I literally do all the trouble shooting steps you can do and it seems to me the motherboard does not work at all and I can’t even get the BIOS or anything to pop up. No video what so ever. Tried different cables, ports, and monitors NOTHING. This sucks ... I’m not mad mad at you Gigabyte.... I’m just ..... disappointed....

Highly recommend to stay away

Nothing but problems with the mobo , settings are difficult to understand for first time builders ...couldn't adjust any type of setting in the bios without it giving me blank boot where things turn on but won't post and screen says no signal . No matter what settings I chose even just trying to adjust fan settings ... couldn't update vram capacity either like my Asus tuf b450 for ryzen G processors which works perfectly..I recommend staying away from this mobo unless your not gonna do any setting adjustment as it won't boot when you do and then you have to clear cmos to get it to reset and post ..I literally cleared the cmos about 100 times till I got fed up and returned this mobo and got my Asus tuf mobo and don't regret it at all ...yes it cheap but I guess you get what you pay for

LA tarjeta es excelente, ya viene con la BIOS F50, lista para Ryzen 3000, recuerden que para serie XT deben actualizar la BIOS. Solo le doy 4 estrellas en juego, ya que al ser una tarjeta de entrada no tiene suficientes fases para manejar eficientemente procesadores de alto consumo, pero para Ryzen 3 y 5 funciona perfecto, actualmente tengo un R3 1200 (12nm) con OC a 4.0Hgz y 1.35 V, las VRM no pasan de 55 grados, lo cual muy bueno considerando el pequeño disipador que trae, Coloque memoria Viper steel 3200Mhz, y las reconoció sin problemas, finalmente monte una 1650 super, y me permite jugar decentemente los juegos actuales, esta semana monto un R5 2600, y en un mes actualizo el rendimiento con este procesador.

sata ports to close to vid card

Worked well for pc build I did for a friend just know that if you use a smaller matx case with larger video card, It will not give you alot of room for wire management I would recommend full atx case that still supports matx mother board . So in a nut shell sata ports are difficult to get to if using large vid card like an amd rx580 .

Cheapest way to Ryzen well

My two complaints are: there are only two fan headers, and one rgb header.

The pcie x1 slot is completely covered by any modern graphics card because it's placed below the pciex16 slot where the graphics card sits. The other big pcie slot is actually unusable with most modern graphics cards as well. I'm using a Sapphire pulse 5600 XT and I had to buy a secondary pcie ribbon extension cable to plug in my wlan card. Other than that, the card is an amazing deal for what you get.

Excellent value, watch out for fans.

This motherboard works very well and is a good price, but it only has one fan header, other than that though, it has 4 RAM slots and an M.2 slot which are very important today. Mine supported the Ryzen 5 3600 out of the box. Using 32gb LED RAM and a GTX 1080 Ti, no problems

Great affordable motherboard

Great budget B450 motherboard for around $70. Gigabyte makes great motherboards. This is a budget motherboard so the vrms do not have heat spreaders, but the board stays cool is the case had good airflow. The motherboard works great with the Ryzen 3 3200g. Not the best bios for cpu overclocking, but it can be done. Great motherboard for beginning builders. I have never had a issue with a Gigabyte motherboard.

Product didn't work

This product is incapable to start up the CPU and doesn't work. By the time I was able to install it, the window to return had expired and I am stuck with it. They were aware it didn't work and there was no communication with the customers on a replacement. I had to order another from another vendor because it was dumped off onto Amazon due to faulty hardware. Stay away until fixed.

Great Budget Board

Gigabyte's B450M budget board is a solid performer. It's also a great stop-gap for non-early-adopters not willing to wait for and gamble on the first B550 boards. My only complaint is that the box was taped closed, there was no included SATA cable, there was no included I/O shield, and the tape on the static bag was ripped off and not reapplied. Amazon would NEVER sell an open-box item as "new" so I have to blame Gigabyte for horrible packaging.
