I read all of the positive reviews, such as from Maximum PC, and I was excited to try out these speakers. After plugging in the speakers and comparing them to a similarly priced speakerset, I have to say I'm disappointed in these. Many different songs and movies were tested and the overall impression is that these speakers sound flatter than others in a similar price range. Perhaps it's the size of the speakers, but they are definitely flat. In addition, the subwoofer leaves some to be desired. You have to crank it all the way up to get a decent bass coming from it. My feeling is that these speakers are overpriced and really need to hover over the 30-40$ price range. As it is, don't believe the hype some of these reviewers give these speakers, especially MaxPC. There are simply better options than these at the 60$ price range. I sure wish someone would had typed a similar review as this before I bought these.

For the price these speakers sure do kick out some great sound. I was totally amazed ! If your looking for nice looking, excellent sound these are the ones to choose.

These turned out to be some really great speakers. I had my doubts about ordering them at first. I had been looking around at different Logitech Speakers, but I am extremely happy I ended up going with the GX speakers, they were everything I expected and for the price, you can't beat them....

As of July 29, 2012, it's been like one month since I got this system. It's cool, it bangs just right for surround sound for my movies. I like it.I went from a cheap $24 Logitech system (which was actually pretty tight) to this and you can definitely tell the $50 difference.Two thumbs up. If this is what your budget holds then go for them.Pros-Price & The thump of the bassCons-None as of yet

I bought these thinking that they would outperform my three year old Logitech speakers I bought for $39.99. I didn't have crazy expectations but heck, all of the reviews say that they're great right??? WRONG, they are loud but the sound is flat the the sub sounded muddy like it was blown right out of the box... So they went back into their box and they're on their way back to where they came from. Good Riddens!

Not bad... they wont blow the doors off the house but its loud enough for a small room. Build quality is decent for price. Sound was ok hooked to my ipod, needed eq fudging to make it sound good. But when hooked up to my PS3 the EQ is perfectly balanced out and sounds great! They sound clearer then my Klipch Promedia 2.1 system but not as powerful. All in all very happy with the purchase..I hope they last

I am CONSTANTLY using my GX Gaming 1250 2.1 speaker system. The bass is great for gaming, music, and movies. I am very pleased with the sound quality. Tweeters aren't too tinny and it stays clear even when the roommates are awake and I crank it up. There is a microphone input for your ipod or other device. If it's late I plug headphones in the other jack outlet. Both of these are handy little features. Visually, it's easy on the eyes with clean lines and NO blinking lights and even comes with long speaker wires to widen your sound. Easy to use right out of the box! You will not be disappointed with these!

Simply the best speakers I've ever owned, including a set of $250 speakers. I have seen no flaws, except for the sound leakage, which doesn't affect me because I don't use headphones with the system.

I have had these for months now. Best 50$ I have ever spent! they sound amazing, very loud, awesome bass, and they look great. the bass adjusting actually makes a huge difference, unlike my last set of speakers where it was basically on or off. When my roommates play their awful music I have a blast drowning them out!

I bought these speakers to replace the BOKAs I had for almost 20 years. so far they have performed very well. i hear my computer games a lot better now and music sounds like it should.

I must've got a bad apple, because the sound quality isn't even acceptable. It sounds thin and airy; far from what others have described. Judging from the recent reviews, it looks like the ratings are much lower than what they used to be on this product. Perhaps there is some manufacturing flaw occurring. Anyways, I'm sending these back.

I bought these speakers as a gift, hoping that they would be similar quality as my Logitech Z4 2.1 system. Sadly they didn't quite as much power as I was expecting and the sound quality wasn't as deep as I was expecting. But they were close to half the price as the Z4's so I would still recommend them for someone sticking to the $50 price range.

I bought these speakers based on the many positive reviews on Amazon, but I was still surprised by their great sound. I took them to my office and plugged in my itouch, and now I have co-employees coming into my office to listen to these great speakers. At least 3 other co-employees have purchased these speakers after listening to mine. They ae very easy to hook up, and I like the fact that you can adjust the bass. I am now buying another set for my office at home! A great product for a great price, as no one can believe that you can have all that music for only $50.00.

These speakers contain amazing quality for the price. I have listened to 5000 dollars set ups that are at the same grade. They bring a whole concert to your computer. It's quite nice.

These speakers are unbelievable. They have the quality of a much more expensive system for a fraction of the price. Flawlessly crisp and clean sound, strong bass, and easy to set up. They also offer different aux ports and such for game systems or for a microphone. For less than sixty bucks, these absolutely can't be beat.

I admit that I'm no audio expert but I know good sound when I hear it. The sound produced by this unit far surpasses what I expected for the paltry price I paid for it. If you're anything but a sound engineer, and even if you are, there is nothing to complain about this speaker system. Yes the little blue is a bit bright, so what? It's very easy to block it out. For 50 bucks, you can't go wrong...

This review follows the initial day of use.1-The elements of this sound system are beautiful and provide enjoyable listening.2-The rubber feet of the woofer box are fantastic.3-The molded Styrofoam packaging should be sufficient to prevent most types of damage from shipping & handling.4-Each component was bagged, plus additional adherent plastic sheets protected the cosmetics even further.5-The tiny booklet is unnecessary as the connectors are appropriately labeled.1-Beware, all 3 speakers are exposed (no protective grill).2-There are no mounting aids on the woofer box.3-The single wall mounting keyhole on each satellite speaker is insufficient to prevent them from tilting off axis (OCD).4-The position indicator grooves on the 2 knobs, volume & bass, are extremely difficult to see. I used a red paint pen to place a tiny dot on each for greater visibility.I would, and may, purchase another set.

I love these speakers. All powered from a central control panal (which is a little big, but good control). Great subwoofer for not being powered. Very light, which is a nice change of pace.Speakers take a bit of desk top real estate, but they look nice and they sound great.

The Genius Speaker System is a really good speaker system if your looking for a good cheep system. They have a good bass sound to them and they can get really loud. the only problem is that if you plug in your head phones they dont get very loud but other than that there amazing. i love how they sound and the bass i would recomend this item

The bass is great. The speakers are small yet powerful. I like the overall look. Setting up was easy. There is only one electrical cord. Overall, I really like these speakers. I also like that I can hook these speakers up to my DVD player...might have better sound than what I currently have. Great product for the price andI am very very particular.

My son ordered These Speakers for his room and wow they are amazing!It sounds like your in a theater The whole Room shakes.The adjustable bass nob is very nice. I would definitely buy another one.

These speakers are replacing a 5.1 Surround Sound system from Dell. They sound great and are very easy to setup. I did like that it takes 1 single cable to connect to either a 3.5mm or RCA output jacks. I had never seen that before and it's clever engineering.Games: That's what we got it for, right? I tried it out on World of Warcraft and Battlefield. It all sounded good to me. Due to my old speakers degrading over time (busted, dirty, etc) it sounded much better than before.Music: I was pleased with this. Please understand I'm not a specialist and I don't understand sound quality beyond: That sounds good. The bass distorts after 1/2 to 3/4 of the bass knob has been turned and the volume is at the highest setting (With bass heavy music of course). Naturally turning down the speakers allows you to pump the bass up a bit without distortion.VoIP: As expected it was clear.I was going to give it 4 stars because of the distortion but who plays at max volume? They ARE gaming speakers. So I added the attribute and gave THAT 4 stars instead. Also I will be testing the panel functions (Headphone, Mic) after another package from Amazon arrives. I will try to update it after that.

After a lot of research and several purchases to find decent speakers for an equally decent price I am finally satisfied. Sound quality is well rounded and reasonably adjustable. The base is not over powering and the speakers are attractive. I'm not an audiophile, but have fairly high standards for speakers and feel these are a worth while investment.

Had these speakers a few months now, for the price they are honestly a really good set. The highs are awesome, the bass is decent, its not going to blow you away but then again, your not buying a $1000 home stereo, and its plenty to keep up with the speakers. Overall satisfied

Outstanding set of speakers. I read reviews all over the web for about 40min... and for 50 bucks? I thought hell, might as well try em'!I couldn't be happier. I unplugged the speakers off the TV. These little guys now run my stereo, computer, and television! outstanding sound. they don't have a remote being computer speakers but i will get my ass up to change the volume... its well worth it!

Just astounded at how good these sound for a $50 speaker set. Bass starts to bottom out at 50% if the volume is all the way up, but that's not what this set is really intended for anyway. For listening at under 5ft. including gaming, I couldn't be more pleased. If you want to fill a room with sound, this might not be your speaker set. But if you want good sound at your desk on the cheap, you can't go wrong here!

After researching for a nice 2.1 system and reading reviews on here about this as well as the MaximumPC people have been talking about, I am glad I got these. For the price, they definately can't be beat in audio quality. I've test a bunch of sub-100.00 dollar speaker sets including 5.1 sets, etc. None of them came close to the sound these put out. These actually remind me of the Logitech Z-4 Speakers which sound a little worse than these in audio quality, but those have bigger bass due to a bigger subwoofer. The bass isn't terribly bad on these, it just needs more oomph. But the bass that is there, is very nicely textured and rounded. These are fantastic all around speakers for your laptop/desktop in your room. I set them up in the living room and people are right. The sound isn't as loud as it should be, but in quietness they sound fantastic for live football games and stuff like that. Either way, don't miss out on this system!

I have been enjoying this outstanding sound system on my imac computer for a week - I am in awe of the clarity and quality every time I use it. Drums and bass are full and thumping, cymbals and hi-hats sizzle; vocals, guitars, horns, keyboards all have a nice presence. (The first day, I did think treble was a bit sharp - and I like treble - but I had been listening to built-in computer speakers for 2 years. Sounds great to me now!)I researched many top brands online for 4 hours and looked for reviews of this product before deciding on this 'unknown' brand. A search for 'genius sw-g2.1 1250 review' on the internet helped me learn more details and choose this system.Thanks to the thoughtful mounting hole on the back of each speaker, I was able to place the speakers at head level on the facing wall rather than set on my small desk because the large imac screen would block sound travel. The nice-sized subwoofer sits on the under-desk shelf.I am over 50, and this is the first product review I've written in a long time - I appreciate a good purchase for my money, and I think you will, too.

Much like everyone else has said, these little babies sound really great. Clear, crisp, nice bass; yea, there's no reason to turn the bass knob beyond 45% unless you're musically challenged. They have such a nice, rich full sound.I was actually just about to pull the trigger on the Klipsch 2.1 set (~$150). Listened to them at BestBuy and they sounded great. Came back 2 weeks later to buy them, and one speaker wasn't working on their display. Swapped the wires and realized the amp wasn't working, speaker was fine. Decided to hold off, came to Amazon and read the reviews only to find that those are full of problems.So I started searching and came across these, read the reviews, including the one on MaximumPC, and I was sold. Just showed up today and I'm very impressed, especially for the price! As others have stated here and elsewhere, they're intended to be near field listening, not to fill a living room..but they fill a bedroom wonderfully and sound simply fantastic!

The Subwoofer was a bit bigger then i expected, but pretty good nevertheless. My only complaint is that the highs are a bit over pronounced but its not something you notice much.

These speakers are phenomenal! I uses them for my record player that only has a headphone jack out plug and for my computer. My friends always compliment the sound of these speakers. What a perfect buy for the price!

I'm not sure how I found these speakers but I'm glad I did. I'm not going to say they're the best I've ever owned, but paired with an Asus Xonar DG you won't regret owning these.Pros:* Great gaming/music quality for the price.* Aesthetically pleasing shape* Magnetically Shielded* Class AB amp* AUX/MIC jacks* Satellites/sub aren't hardwired to crossover.* No distortion from satellites* Dedicated bass/volume knobs on crossover.Cons:* The tacky, hard to match metallic red color* Unprotected satellite cones* Bass distorts at high dial.* Doesn't sound as good as $500 speaker sets :PThe reproduction of guitars/vocals good, far better than cymbals/drums. I'd recommend these for gaming over music, but it does both par with systems ranging from $90-120. With the Amazon Prime trial it took less that 24hrs to get this product, that was a big bonus :)

Great product, great price. I was skeptical at first. I was leaning towards the Soundsticks III, but absolutely no regrets with this purchase. I thought I would need a higher level system such as the Soundsticks or Pro Media, but this one serves its purpose and will satisfy any non-audiophile looking for a 2.1 in a bedroom or small living room. I read the maximum PC review and was impressed by the use of a higher level amp. Bottom line, great product, I can't wait for the higher level 3000 to hit the market at less than 120, it will be a no brainer purchase.

So I was looking for a small set of speakers for my laptop in my room so I could rave to some Dubstep. For the price you cant beat these. The Sub-woofer feels deceivingly light but packs enough punch to hear from a good distance. My alien-ware m14x packs 2.1 Klipsch Speakers which are BOSS for their size, and these blow them out of the water. Definitely would recommend.

Speakers are the best I have ever heard in this price range. I paid about 55 dollars from Amazon for these and let me tell you I have been impressed. I bought these to replace some aging speakers I had on my second computer. I use some Logitech Z-5500's on my primary machine. Well these 2.1 speakers sound absolutely fantastic for less than 60 dollars I couldnt be happier. I have since moved them to my television in my bedroom even better bass fills the room mids and highs are great. Perfect for when you feel like watching a movie from the comfort of your bed. Guess I will have to order a second pair for my pc.

I too have found that the sound leaks when headphones are plugged in to the control unit, which is the only thing keeping this from earning 5 stars in my book. I think I can work around that problem via plugging directly into the tower like I used to if I need my headphones for gaming. It's annoying but not worth returning them for considering how little I game anymore. For the money these are great speakers with a decent amount of oomph- especially since the price has dropped about $10 since I bought mine less than a week ago.

These are not going to compete with a good Bose or one of the other high dollar speaker systems for your computer, But for the price they are quite good. They are better than any other system at this price I've looked at.

I have an old set of Labtech flat panel speakers that sound really nice. Thought I would upgrade. These sound good and put out decent power and sound for the price. The satellites are cheap and sound cheezy without the sub, but are easily "tweeked" with your sound manager with the EQ. I wouldn't pay any more than $50-60 for this set. Priced right and I personally like the styling. Would definitly recommend

I haven't heard of this brand before but going by other reviews, I decided to buy these speakers for my computer. These are very good speakers for the price. I should say that the sub is phenomenal. The base thumps out with no distortion whatsoever. I live in a decent sized apartment the volume is good enough. The speakers do distort at very high volume but I never use such high volume (and risk my neighbors complaining).Overall, very good product for the price.

Because the reviews on the Genius SW1250 system were so good I decided to buy them.After about an hour I was not able to make them work.I tried doing system checks, still no help. It is easy to hook up ( only 3 color coded cables that plug into computer .)Anyway I switched around 2 of the cables and it worked! These really do sound fantastic! It was worth the effort (5 STARS)

These speakers do a great job considering their cost. I have had them for a month or so and have no complaints. The control tower is convenient as well. When I bought these there weren't many reviews for them so I took a chance and it paid off for my needs. If you are looking for really expensive and top of the line sound, these are obviously not for you. But if you need an economical replacement for old speakers, these do a solid job and deliver what you expect and a little more for how much they cost.
