I bought this system expecting a great gaming system... well i was wrong. the speakers dont go very loud and the bass is, well below par. much below what i had expected. the bass is barley noticable. poor product

Overall the system sounds great! The reason I gave it a 4 star was because the Y-RCA to headphone cable wasn't processing the left speaker signal. I switched to the standard headphone to headphone cable and it worked great. Maybe I was misreading the instructions. Other than that little issue the system looks great on my work desk. It sounds even better! Well worth the cost! I would purchase this product again for sure.

Decent sound. Subwoofer is powerful. If you place the controller close to one of the speakers, it will create humming. This is a good sub-$100 set, and has some great features. The supplied speaker cords are 6' long.

Great set of speakers, at least from a first impression!Pros:-Feel well-built-Control center is a nice feature with solid, well-labeled inputs-Sound is very good (used EQ to boost the midrange a bit but no big deal)-Bass sounds good at about 60% setting (in my opinion)Cons:-Headphone jack on my set is tight (takes two hands to plug headphones in - need to hold the control center)-There is a very small amount of sound "leakage" when headphones are plugged in, but it shouldn't be noticeable to anyone around you-Cables could be a tad bit short if you put the control center, say, on top of the PC tower by your feetOverall I would definitely recommend these speakers.UPDATE:Still four stars, but the sound leaking was noticeable by my roommate when the room is relatively quiet.ANOTHER UPDATE:Started using both sets of inputs (RCA and 3.5mm). The speakers default to 3.5mm input if there is one plugged in, so I have to unplug the cord to listen to anything from the other (RCA) input. Not a big deal, but maybe something that could be improved upon in the next version of these speakers (which I would definitely consider buying).

Received package a day earlier than expected (with free shipping) and turned it on immediately. I listen to a lot of pop/rap/hip-hop, music with a vast mix of bass and treble, amazing. Usually when you turn home speakers up to a certain point they start sounding as if they are going to burst, not these. The sound quality is high even at max volume and bass. The volume is higher than I expected, loud enough to drown out the sound of very loud... company ;) ;). I live in a 1700sq ft apartment and it will wake my roommates if I turn it up. Great buy, decent price. Don't go cheap and buy crap, but you don't need to spend a ton to get quality speakers.

I'll preface this with I'm not really an audio-file and this is my first product review after using Amazon half my life so it's a pretty big deal.Mainly I wanted to mention that Bose Companion 2 Series II Multimedia Speaker System were awful. When I plugged them into my wall I was getting some ambient christian radio station here in Seattle Washington and it always played at about 20% the music volume so it was super annoying. For $100 and Bose I was expecting a lot better (not to mention there was a buzz when the power was just on). I returned it immediately and tucked in to look for a different product. After my first horrid experience I was wary, but after reading tons of reviews I finally settled on this set.They work fantastic. Completely silent when my laptop is muted and they sound pretty great. I would definitely recommend them :).Can't tell you much about whether they're tinny or base heavy or anything, but you do have control of bass so that gives you the power for unlimited adjustments. Enjoy!

These speakers were an absolute upgrade from the speakers that came with my desk in my office. They are great for what I am using them for. I work in a small office and the volume even on low carries throughout the office. The bass has to be turned down a little otherwise it is overpowering at low volume. When I turn them up the music can be heard down the hallway. If you are some kind of audiophile geek, than these are not for you and you should be ashamed of yourself for even looking at a $45 set of speakers, let alone buying them or rating them.

These speakers barely work. Every time I try to watch a movie, I have to turn the sound all the way up and even then I can barely hear anything. I should have returned this producy when I had the chance.

Was easy to set up. Just a few wires and plugs into wall.only downfall is the wires are kinda short, maybe 3-4 feet. Could use a few more feet there.multiple inputs, aux, rc, front and back inputs.Bass sounds great, I can turn up to full w.o distortion.Bought it when it was on sale for 52$ and couldn't have spent the money better on another system.

This is probably the best deal on speakers out there! $45 for this speaker system is awesome! I was skeptical on how a $45 speaker system would sound but after reading a lot of reviews about them I can say that these are the best sounding speakers for the money. They sound great and the bass is deep and responsive. The controller for the speakers is perfect and looks awesome! If you are looking for a great sounding affordable speaker system this is will be perfect for you!

Very happy with this purchase. Purchased these as a replacement for my son. His only complaint is the light on the front of the speakers but he has it covered so it doesn't annoy him. The sound produced on these is of decent quality. Was a great purchase for the cost!

I read the reviews online and got this product but it was very disappointing. I hooked it up to the TV and the volume of my TV is 10 times better than these speakers. Also in the the picture it looks really big but they are tiny speakers with only a huge base. Please do not waste your money.

The base is nice, but I those speakers don't stroke noise. They are not perfect in comparison to those super great speakers, but they are perfect for only $60! If you don't want to spend much money on speakers but need quality, this is the best choice ever. And the longer you use it, the deeper you will feel its brilliance! Try some good audio cards you will love it more. However, the most shitty thing is that I got one from the market place instead of the Amazon. My 15 dollors are wasted!!!

I first found out about this item from a friend that lived out of state (so traveling there to hear them was out of the question, come on, travel 400 miles to hear $50 speakers!). I did the normal research, reading whatever reviews I could find and then found one in Maximum PC that gave it 9 out of 10 stars. I needed a set, and here, or should I say hear I am, and HEAR is the key word. Now before I get all pell-mell because of my excitement I want to start with the mosquito bites. The sub breaks down on a high bass demand at around volume 6 (out of 10). They are rated at 36 watts so don't expect the Beasty Boys to join you in person. If I really, really nitpicked I could find a few more things but I don't work that way, I put enough seeds in your head already. Now for the magic, these are absolutely the steal of the year! For few Washington's over a Grant you will move up the audio clarity ladder more rungs then a monkey on Red bull! I listened to "Mad Man across the water", "Clair de lune", Baba O'riley" and "Bourree". Now if I paid $150, I would have been impressed, but paying $56 (shipping included) I was transported to a time of wonderment (not quite Zen, but how would I know?) I'm not going to bore you with my limited requirements of great sound but, if you are looking to replace your Edison era speakers, you will not regret your purchase. As a matter of fact your friends will wonder why your smile is now "ear to ear"!10/6/12: Just bought my second pair, the amazement still hasn't worn off! I know this shouldn't be true on an inexpensive set of speakers, but I swear they get better and better every month. And yes I do have Swan and Golden Ear speakers, they are fantastic but also cost 6 to 20 times more! I actually listen to my Genius set more due to convenience.

I replaced my cheapo PC computer speakers with the Genius system. What an improvement. The sound is great. I can hear every word on DVD movie playbacks. I'm very pleased. They look great too.

These speakers will surprise you I guarantee that. Picture makes them look small but standing 6 inches tall 4 inches wide they are decently sized. The sound quality is superior to that of many of the systems I have owned and the bass is very powerful. Compared to a set of $100 altec's they blow the altec's away. Compared to the $400 bose companion set they are an equal match believe it or not (tested). You truly won't regret the purchase of these speakers. Get them before they are gone!

I've only had these speakers for a day, but all I can say is WOW! They are an amazing step-up from the set-up I had previously! The independent amplifier is awesome and convenient. The subwoofer delivers excellent bass and the overall listening experience is fantastic! Couple that with the awesome deals Amazon provides, you simply cannot go wrong with these speakers! Highly recommended!!

I bought these to replace a set that had died. They were inexpensive and had good reviews. The speakers provide a nice solid sound, and the sub is steady and natural. The sound is much better than my old set that had died, which originally cost a bit more. I'm very happy with this purchase!

I'm a sound room manager, these are an ok set of speakers. There not the best in the world and nothing compared to a decent set of m audio speakers but for the price a very nice set. If your looking for a set to listen to rap with this isn't it, the sub-woofer leaves some to be desired. The average person who casually listens to music will find these a good set for themselves.pros. it was a rather desired sound, no pre. built equalizer but a good flat sound so you can set your own equalizer.cons. very bright light on the control box and head phone jack does not really work.Quality SW-G2.1 1250 36W Speakers By Genius

I have purchased several PC sound systems in the past few years, including the Logitech S220 2.1 Speaker System with Subwoofer. The Genius SW-G2.1 1250 2.1 Speaker System sounds best of all, looks the best, has the most features and is easiest to control. The (sound) separation is fantastic. The bass is solid and adjustable via the control box. The acoustics seem to me to be accurate and clear. The asthetics are cool, also.The control box is a good feature, since you can plug in headphones and the mic without getting under the desk to plug them into the PC. In addition, you can power down the speaker system from the box, saving money while not in use. It has a blue light on it to indicate the power is on.I would recommend this sound system.

Easy set-up, clean sound, and I like the look. Fantastic quality for the price point. I bought these to replace a $100+ set of speakers that consistently misbehaved, at less than 2 years old. I'm thrilled with these as a much less expensive and - so far - much more reliable replacement.

I spend most of my time on my computer playing games or listening to music. I am a computer enthusiast, and I build my own computer from scratch. I subscribe to MaximumPC, where I first learn about the Genius 1250 2.1 from an overwhelming positive review. I know MaximumPC can be quite picky and critical when it comes to hardware reviews, so I was intrigued.I had speakers from Yamaha, Logitech, Bose, and I was quite happy with the quality. The Genius 1250 replaced the Bose Companion 2 Bose Companion 2 Series II multimedia speaker system I have, which actually cost more than the Genius speakers. I am happy to say that the Genius speakers sound better than the Bose pair. Granted, the Bose setup does not include a separate sub-woofer, but the Genius installation still cost less. The Genius speakers sit on my desk, and the woofer is behind my desk on the floor. They deliver powerful a sound for my home office.I was afraid that the bass would be excessive for the Genius setup, but unless you turn the bass knob to past the half-way point, the bass is not overwhelming. Allowing each listener to adjust the bass is great to satisfy everyone's taste in listening.To get the biggest bang (or boom) for your buck, these speakers can't be beat. They are likely to exceed your expectation too.

PROS+ Glossy red and black color (nicest looking speakers I've owned.)+ Good bass.+ Volume can get loud without distorting.+ Control box makes it much easier to control the bass (no going behind the Woofer)CONS- Sound is a little flat (but not a big deal if your sound card or program has an equalizer.)- Headphone volume is super low (not sure if this is isolated but I have to crank the volume for the headphones)Overall speakers with great looks and pretty good sound.

I bought these speakers based upon reviews given by other people, and let me start by saying they are definitely worth it for the price. These things do well for a gaming speaker set. I play a lot of games where you are involved in first person battles, and the directional sound reproduction of these speakers gives you an edge when you've got arrows wizzing past your head. They also have smooth bass response for extra crisp special effects and such. The right and left channels could produce a little more fullness of sound, but no complaints anywhere else.

Just got this speaker system as a birthday gift and let me tell you, freaking awesome especially for the price. I love it (at least in the half hour since I set it up) and couldn't find a single flaw. IMPORTANT NOTE: THE PICTURES DO NOT SHOW THE HUGE (8 inches square or so) SUBWOOFER! This wasn't a problem for me, but it might be for someone else.Overall: very satisfied, little to no flaws :)

These speakers are a good choice. I was contemplating between these and the creative T20, but were the same price so I decided to go with these. (Plus it has a sub woofer). It sounds great and seems of high quality build. Sometimes the sound seems flat but maybe thats just my mp3 and not the speakers itself. It is loud, has great bass, and just sounds great.Overall: Happy with the speakers and I would recommend it to anyone who needs speakers.

Wow. These speakers are amazing for the price point. I didn't expect much for $46 speakers but these are VERY good. The bass is very heavy and solid. There is no buzzing whatsoever. The sound is crisp and clean. You can also turn the volume up quite a bit. Honestly, they sound like they should cost over $200. Best speakers I have owned hands down.

I am surprised how $50 speaker can produce such crisp highs and mids and tight bass. I practically listened to many 2.1 speakers including many logitech, creative, insignia, altec lansing models and let me tell you these are all junk. They don't provide value for money. Believe me, you can't find better sound for 50 bucks in the market. These speakers produce crystal clear sound and you will be surprised how tight bass it can produce. Genius has used quite nice amplifier unit in 50 bucks speaker. If your budget is under 50 bucks for 2.1 speaker, look no further.

The other reviews that report these speakers sound good, especially for the price, are dead on in my opinion. It took a couple hours of playing various types of music to break in the speakers a bit: They sound great, better the longer I play them, and look good.The bass isn't as clear as you might find in high-priced subs, but it isn't boomy either and delivers a very good amount of bass that is well matched to the small speakers. I have the bass level set at about half-way up and it's just fine.

Excellent sound quality and good for the price. Relatively easy to installed and plug in. I tested on an iPad and PC and both work nicely. The color and graphics are a bit teenage-age/gamerish for my taste.

They sound good for the price, and I know it doesn't say it comes with a remote, but that would be the only complaint I have. If you use them for your computer that's not a problem, but I bought them for an upgrade to my TV speakers. Also, I don't know if it's just my TV, but they don't override the TV audio output, so you can't use the TV volume to adjust them either. So, if you're using them for your computer, or don't mind adjusting the volume from the control box, I would recommend these.

Decided to buy these after reading all of the positive reviews on them. Basically, they were right! These things sound absolutely fantastic in a bedroom setup, and I would imagine fine anywhere else. The subwoofer produces nice bass, and the overall sound is very crisp and clear - not muddy at all. I'd recommend these to anyone looking to buy new speakers for a computer setup. For the price, you can't go wrong!
