Прекрасная система! Просто подарок за свою цену.Удобные способы подключения, есть выход на наушники, что плюс.Очень яркий диод, но его можно заклеить или закрасить.Звук чистый, громкий, басы ну отличные, глубокие. Высокие и средние частоты хорошо регулируются эквалайзером, звук как конфетка. Просто монстр.

Купил вчера, теперь жду пока придет, в описании все хорошо, давно хотел такой, дизайн понравился. Думаю придет быстро. Покупайте =)

За свою цену отличные колонки. В других интернет-магазинах ценник от 2000 до 2700. Сами колонки - пластиковые, Саб - дсп. Очень громкие. Для помещения в 20 квадратов - отличные. Покупал такую акустику в озоне, прислали оперативно. Приятно удивлён качеством и громкостью звука! На мой взгляд самое лучшее за такие деньги. Моя оценка: 5+.

I bought the Genius SW-G2.1 1250 speakers as a replacement for some Logitech S120's, which I'd purchased on the fly, so to speak, in a kind of "emergency" situation. The S120's were pretty decent speakers for $10, but just didn't cut it for any truly "serious" listening to music, movies, etc. I really didn't expect much out a pair of $50 speakers, either, but again, I really just needed some speakers to get me by that were a step up from the Logitech. After reading some promising reviews as well as some highly critical reviews, I decided to go ahead and take a chance with the 1250's. Am I ever glad I did! These little things are outstanding for their price point! Just bear in mind, you are NOT going to be getting the equivalent of a $300+ set of speakers here. You are getting $50 speakers. Keep that in mind, and as such, they are flat unbelievable. Now I will say this: you absolutely MUST have some kind of equalizer on your system to really get the most of this system. That is true of most speaker systems. My Asus computer has a pretty powerful RealTek HD audio manager installed that can really tweak these little things to a high degree for any style of music or other sounds that I can throw at them. I have played rock, jazz, classical, acapella vocal music through them and it all sounds fantastic. I will say, however, that these speakers are not designed for a larger room. If that is your need, I would look elsewhere. In my case, I simply wanted a good set of speakers to use with my computer which I use in an area of my home that is relatively small (12' x 10').One thing I absolutely love about these speakers--aside from their sound quality--is the independent volume control which handles both the subwoofer as well as the two satellite speakers. This stand alone unit also has inputs for headphones, which I have not tried simply because I have no need to use headphones in my situation. Yes, it takes up another small piece of my desk real estate, but I would much rather have the convenience of being able to control the volume of my speakers with this than having to either rely on software or worse, bending over to find the controls on the speakers. By the way, setup was a no-brainer. I had them up and running in less than 10 minutes. Some people have made mention of the design; both positive and negative. Personally, I really don't care about such matters. For me, it's all about performance and sound. Having said that, I actually think they look kinda cool. I suppose more "conservative" tastes might disagree, but I'll leave that to the individual.Is there a down side to the 1250's? A lot of fuss has been made about the bright blue light on the front of the volume controller and they aren't wrong. While it doesn't bother me in the least while working on my computer, I do turn the unit off at night. It is one damn bright light! I am quite sure that there are many people out there who might choose to play music throughout the night on their computer and so could certainly be annoyed by the light, so all I can say is get some tape and cover that sucker up. A bright light would be a pretty poor reason not to purchase these very good speakers, in my opinion. You'd be excluding yourself from perhaps one of the better bargains around in terms of $50 speakers.I have only two real caveats that I have found: (1) if your expectations are that these can be used for a large party or room, forget it and (2)if you don't have some decent equalizer software for your sound card, get some. In my opinion, you will never be able to tweak ANY speaker system properly without at least having access to some basic equalization controls. All of us have different preferences, so this is pretty fundamental. Some of the negative reviews I read before purchasing dealt with the supposed lack in different parts of the frequency spectrum. Several people complained, for example, of the lack of midrange, others for something else. While I don't claim to be some sort of expert audiophile, I am a professional musician and have taught music for many years and conducted many bands and choirs, so I think I am at least qualified enough to know "good" from "bad" sounding speakers. Which leads me to the opinion that those who made negative comments about these speakers would probably be better served by considerably more expensive and larger speaker systems. From my point of view, I think these are probably among the best $50 speakers you're going to find. I'm sure there are some other good ones out there as well. After all, I am not in the position of being able to compare them all, but I will say that you will most likely be very pleased with these as long as you don't have any unrealistic expectations about them.To sum up, the Genius SW-2.1 1250 speakers are a true bargain and great little speakers at a great price. I highly recommend them. The true test for me now will be to see how they hold up over time.

First of all, my package from Amazon arrived 24 hours earlier than expected. It was well packaged, a box within a box, and there was no damage. Since I have had this speaker system for less than 24 hours I can't comment in depth. My first impression has been that these are a good product. The sound I have experienced thus far is great. I'm sure I will have some "tweaking" to do with my computer's equalizer but first feelings are it won't take much. Like another person noted, the blue led light on the control box is very bright and somewhat annoying. My computer is in my bedroom. I awoke during the night and actually thought one of my cats had gotten on the computer desk and woke up the monitor. The led is THAT bright. If your computer is in your bedroom and you like a really dark bedroom when you sleep this blue light will bother you a lot. I don't know if the makers of this product could have found a brighter light. If this feedback gets back to them I would suggest they find led lights that are more subdued and less intrusive. I tried turning the control box a certain direction to kind of mute the led but it still is a darn bright night light. I very much like the looks of the speakers, all three of them. Someone had mentioned a grill would have been nice but the speakers seem to protected, and their shouldn't be much problem unless someone purposely tries to damage them. I am a musician albeit an older one and know what I like to hear in sound. I played some classical music and after doing a bit of "tweaking" on the equalizer I noted that the bass output was just right for me. It wasn't overwhelming or "boomy" but was a nice solid bass. I could hear the flutes and piccolo just fine and even noted at one point in the piece I could hear the triangle, so, the treble setting was good. As I said I may do a bit more "tweaking" and need to hear some music other than classical to see how the speakers sound. The system is loud enough to be heard in another room without setting the volume control very high. I was a bit surprised at how good the sound was from another room. I'm not an audiophile, and I'm sure there are more expensive speaker systems out there that recreate sound better than these speakers do. However, I feel for what I paid for these speakers I got a very good product that I should be happy with for a long time.

Have you ever gone to a pool party with a crappy bottom-end 80's era /REALISTIC/ console system from Radio Shack? And listened to it while you were underwater? If you have, you may understand what I'm talking about. But it would have sounded better than this one.The last time I heard a computer sound system this crappy was when I received a Dell computer with a free speaker system (you know -- the standard off-white rectangular speakers we sold at Egghead Software in the 90's for $20.00 a pair). And I'm pretty sure those systems were better.What don't I like about this system? The speakers have no range, and you can't adjust the treble or midrange. You CAN adjust the sub-woofer. If you want to push the sound from the crappy zone to the muddy zone, that is.Right now, I'm listening to I Hate Kate - Act 1. For the first time ever, I'm not enjoying this very awesome album. I makes it sound like they recorded it in the bathroom. If I turn the volume down to about 20%, I can adjust the bass and it almost sounds balanced. But if you listen to music while surfing and working, you probably want to crank the music every once in awhile. Don't expect to do that with this system.For the price, I could have purchased the last set of speakers I bought -- the Cyber Acoustics Subwoofer Satellite System (CA-3602). It costs 40% less and sounds 500% better. (I'd still be using it if I hadn't trashed it when I moved my computer across the room.) I wish I'd just returned these. It's too late for me. But you can decide not to buy them.Update: I may have been a bit harsh in this review, so here's an addendum: I upgraded it to a 2 because, after fiddling around with the driver settings (Control Panel -> Sound -> [Sound card being fiddled with] -> Enhancements Tab-> Bass Boost, Virtual Surround, Loudness Equalization), I was able to get reasonable sound out of these speakers. I still don't think they're worth $50, and the system I recommended earlier is cheaper and probably better than what you'd expect for the price.

For the price, which is a little under $50.00 when I purchased it, these speakers are surprisingly good. The reason for the 4 stars is because the bass could be a bit better. Don't get me wrong, the bass is definitely there, however the sub-woofer does not pick up on certain lows. I am comparing this with my 5-6 years old speakers, which I bought for $70.00 at the time. Yes, $70,00 6 years ago is a lot more than $70.00 now, so comparing it to a $50.00 speakers isn't fair...but then again that was 6 years ago. I was expecting audio technology to be better now, even for the price.With that being said, EVERYTHING ELSE, aside from the bass, is superior to my older speakers. The mids and highs are both amazingly clear and accurate.Just to be a bit more specific, so that other buyers will have a better idea of what they're purchasing, the bass isn't bad at all. The problem is that the sub-woofer picks up on the "punchy" spectrum of the bass more than the "extremely low" spectrum, you know the one where all you feel is very deep vibrations. At medium-high volume and max bass, you can notice that the bass is somewhat distorted. I do use my sound card's equalizer so yes I have set it up to where it will sound the best to me and still notice the distortion in bass.Another thing that bothers me is the blue LED "ON" light. It is bright...too bright. I wish there was an option to turn it off but for now I just put something in front of it.Aesthetically, the speakers and sub look very nice. It's slick and not TOO flashy.Overall, pretty good speakers. I will be using these to replace my older ones just because these are better overall. I definitely recommend these speakers.PS: There is another model of genius speakers, the Genius GX-Gaming SW-G2.1 3000 with Two Input Jacks for PC/TV/DVD/Game Devices. They are 70 watts as opposed to the one in this review, which is 38 watts. They cost $30.00 more but is definitely a much louder system if you are looking for something louder.

I bought these to replace a pair of Bose speakers which I had purchased previously at almost twice the price of these. These are far superior to the Bose speakers (which usually get high ratings). They have excellent bass on a separate subwoofer and a treble that's almost too high for my ears. The Bose speakers had no subwoofer and very bad treble. I especially like the separate subwoofer on these speakers and especially the separate control for the bass. I have only had to turn the bass knob up to about 50% (and I love the thumping bass that you get at this level).The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is that they have to be turned up almost to the maximum volume level to listen to good rock music at a reasonable level. This makes me wonder if they are truly 38 watts of power. But at maximum volume, there is almost no distortion on them, and perhaps the reason for my having to turn them up so high is my sound card, which I am changing for an Asus Xonar DG sound card to replace the original card which is on my Dell computer.Don't worry about the bright blue light, as several reviewers commented about, unless you are sitting in a completely dark room. Even then a piece of electrical tape over it makes it a non-factor, unless you are super sensitive to light. If that's the case then even with tape the light might bother you. It doesn't bother me.All in all these speakers are one of the best kept secrets and biggest bargains on the market today.

This is a good sound system, however a didn't know it was a "gaming" sound system before receiving it.I wanted a sound system with good quality audio for listening to music (not for gaming or watching movies), so this review might help you if that is your goal too.The good:- Good balanced sound- Good frequency range- Cables have good length- Subwoofer volume is adjustable- The element that has the volume dials (the thin thing that has the shape of a brick) is nice and convenient, but it could be smallerThe bad:- The subwoofer makes a strange noise when playing low frequencies. From what I've analyzed, this happens because of the format of the air output in the subwoofer box (which makes it sound like a person blowing). This noise does disturb me when I'm listening to music, so I had to keep the subwoofer in an enclosed place, with this air output turned away from me. However, if you turn the volume up, this cracking sound becomes awful and distorts the whole sound. Since I usually listen to quieter music, it is not a big issue for me.- Another issue I had was with the connector that goes into the computer audio output jack. It did not work well until I realized it had glue all over the metal part, preventing it from properly connecting to the computer. This was probably a packing mistake: to wrap tape around it.- Although I liked the design from the pictures before buying, now I think it looks more like a sound system for a teenager.Overall, this sound system is ok. It would be good if it didn't have the subwoofer issue.

Okay....I bought these speakers b/c they were the cheaper option and the reviews were all good, but I am an audiophile and I was trying to buy some high end speakers with powered sub...etc. The day these speakers arrived, I opened the box and I desperately wanted to hate them so that I would have an excuse to send them back and spend the extra money for high end speakers with good quality. However...I plugged these in and turned the bass up about 1/3 of the way and this system came ALIVE! The highs are ultra crisp, but not annoying, and the mid range are extremely clear! Now, besides all of this, the small 5.25" sub is in an attractive enclosure and has a tiny, round port out of the back of the enclosure. Whatever their engineers are doing, they need to keep doing it...this is absolutely the best bass out of a 5.25" computer sub that I have ever heard!now, here are the only cons i can think of:when bass is turned up over half way, the bass sounds pingy and distorted.when the volume for the whole system is turned up past 3/4 of the way, the system sounds muddy and distorted.that being said, even when the bass is 1/2 way up and the main volume at 3/4 this system is LOUD and CLEAR! Look no further, spend the $59 and get these.

I wasn't expecting much out of these cheap speakers. After my old Logitech z5300's died I decided I didn't want to blow $200 on a speaker system that was primarily used for gaming (and sparsely at that), so I decided to go with the Genius set after reading the max pc review and all of the reviews available here. I can honestly say after a bit of use that you will not find a better set of 2.1 speakers for under $50 (probably not under $80).Sound from the satellites can be somewhat flat, but they really aren't too bad at all given that the 5.25" sub makes plenty of bass to help supplant some of the fullness that the smaller speakers lack. Like many of the reviews before have stated, these speakers are good as long as you don't crank the volume up too high. I tested them up to about 75% with almost no distortion and the volume level far exceeded anything I would ever realistically use. The sub stayed crisp and deep at about 60-75% of max on the controller, once again, as long as the volume stayed at a respectable level.My one complaint (ok maybe two complaints) with this system is the controller, and more importantly the headphone jack. When utilized there is a distinct and rather annoying leakage of sound through the satellites. It is extremely low but if you are OCD and things like this drive you nuts (me) you will have to learn to cope because there doesn't seem to be any way to fix this issue. The only other complaint is the lack of speaker guards, I can already picture my two year old shoving a pencil through the cone, but I suppose for $50 you really can't expect everything.All in all this is an awesome set of speakers for the price. They are great for gaming and music alike as long as you aren't an audiophile. If you order these with realistic expectations, you will be happy with them. I certainly was.

I bought this and also the CA 3602 for two new computer builds. This set was more expensive, and it's a little "smaller" than the CA set, but it really belts out sound. The sub is really pretty amazing for such a small form factor. I don't think you want this for a large living room or open space, but in my SOHO it's ideal. It reverberates throughout the room and sounds really good. The wires that attach to each speaker and subwoofer are also fairly long which is nice to help stretch across my long desk. The blue LED on the front is the only really negative thing about the set. It's so bright, I put some black athletic tape over it (actually, three layers, so it's now just a faint blue glow. I was getting retinal burn it was so bright and since it's on the controller, I couldn't help but see it).I'm no audiophile, so don't expect a critique of the highs, lows, pitch, etc., or whatever the more astute listener might be able to discern. I just wanted something that would sound good listening to iheartradio and my streaming videos, as well as the occasional blu-ray movie at my desk. This is not the cheapest set, and is probably overkill considering what I just said, but I would buy this again. It also looks kind of cool with the red and black color scheme.

I upgraded to these from a $30 pair of logitech's that i had for 2 years. The quality on them was very very good, but the system just wasn't that loud and i blew the left speaker. Found these and everyone was giving really good, and a few really bad reviews.Let me set the record straight. These speakers are well worth the buy, likely the best deal in the price range. The max volume of these is very loud and will fill any single room. Separate Sufferer control is Very awesome, as that was missing on my last sub. Speakers are plastic and sturdy, with rubber around the nice tweeters. It seems these will last me 4+ yearsThe most important question to ask, is "how do these sound?"- The Highs in the Speakers sound extremely clear up to the high end.- The Bass from the Sub is real solid. Punchy and Low Heavy. Kicks really come through.- Lastly, I notice an ever-so-slight lack of (low)mid range frequency, but not by much.These speakers are great for mostly everything. Perfect for Music, Movies, and Gaming. I really would give these a 4.5/5 or 9/10.++ P.S. with no sound playing & the speakers plugged in- there is NO HUM! They are completely silent. I had an expensive THX 5.1 system that i had to ditch because of the no good humming.I'm Extremely Happy with these and do recommend them.

I got these for my new gaming build, and I definitely don't regret it one bit. At the time, they were priced at about $55, but I'd be willing to buy them again at the full price (listed at $99 at the time of purchase).The volume control has unified all of my volume sliders. Rather than messing with individual programs' volumes, the speakers' levels, and the system volume, I have left everything up all the way and adjust it from the included control box. I've never had to turn the volume up past halfway, even on quiet music (I listen to classical a lot and this really serves the genre justice).Directional sound is something that is seriously under-appreciated until you actually experience it. In Skyrim, for example, I could never tell where a person was when they were talking. Now, I can tell exactly where they are and hear the different interwoven parts in my music.My case doesn't include headphone/microphone ports in the front, so it's really handy to have them in the control box. The bass control is very nice.My only beef, which is extremely trivial, is that the LED is blue and not red. The speakers themselves are red, so why the blue LED? Anyway, the rest of my build is red, so I thought that it'd be nice.Get it. now.

So i really liked the design of the product and i think the red color gives it a bold unique look to it. After unpacking the speakers i quickly set it up and plugged everything in and turned it on. The reason i gave this product 3 stars is because when i turned it on, not the speaker,not the sub, but the CONTROL BOX was making an annoying buzzing sound. I am quite disappointed because it interferes with the sound. In order for me to not hear the buzzing the sound must be turned up to a moderately high volume. BUT i do like the quality and the deep solid bass the sub provides. If it weren't for the buzzing these would be better than my last speaks which was a Logitech. I will be returning my speakers in hopes of getting replacements from the company. I am not upset because i understand things go wrong but i am a little disappointed because i was really looking forward to these.

I've looked at several setups from the big brands and all did not compare to these in the under $100 category.. These things will blow them away.. What you typically find with the sub $100 speakers from other brands is a dull, narrow dynamic frequency range.. These offer crisp highs, nice mids, and a punchy bass..Not to mention, these get pretty loud.. The subwoofer is better than most brands I've tested.. but it's not going to overly impress anyone with a nice home thearthe system w/sub or anything.. you can only expect so much from a 40watt setup here.I like the variety of inputs it has.. The amp itself is cool looking with a nice blue LED light when on.. it's also ventilated very well and you only pick up a tad bit of heat from it..I do wish there had been a treble adjustment nob.. But you can adjust that sort of thing in most music apps.. just a wish.

I've had these speakers for a little under a year now and I have to say - THEY ROCK! I feel like I ripped someone off getting them for $50. I have these hooked up to my computer in my bedroom and I replaced a set of JBL's with them. When these speakers are on low you can hear them throughout the house ( I live in a 1900 sq ft home). When they are on medium you can feel the bass pulsing through the walls. And when they are turned all the way up, everything around them moves to the beat of the music. These speakers are fantastic, period. At my last house party my sound system crapped out so I brought these speakers outside, hooked up my iPod to them... and rocked the night away. I listen to a lot of heavy bass music and these speakers crush everything I throw at them. If you are thinking about buying these, do yourself a favor and buy them.Pros: Deep bass, clear and crisp mids/ highs. Beautiful sound. Easy access to volume and bass adjustments Automatically silences when I plug in my wireless headset dongle ( I don't use the mic plug on the control box) Sleek look, they look awesome on my desk. Super easy to set up, easy to move.Cons: Nada

With all the high reviews on this 2.1 speaker set, I thought it would be a safe try out this not so well known brand.What i look for in a speaker is a complete, full range of sound with hi-fi quality. I currently have a Boston 2.1 set that does this beautifully. With the Genius set, the bass is nice and powerful for its size, the highs are over-powering and the mids are completely gone. I've changed my equalizer around, used several different media players, played music ranging from Jazz, classical, rock, heavy metal, techno and dubstep. Ever time, just overly expressed highs, good bass and no mids which makes the music sound empty. I've also let them burn in for over a day, but they never developed. $30 logitech speakers have a better complete range than these speakers. I'll give it the Bass is good, and if that's the only thing that matters to you, then these will do just fine. However i feel they are very over-priced for their offering, even at $50.I'm keeping my Boston 2.1 and putting these in the garage.

For christmas i received a amazon gift card and one say while surfing this site as always i said why dont i look into a decent pair of computer speakers. I was currently using a FREE pair of Logictech USB speakers i recieved through my job( value around 10-15$). I came across these speakers and all the reviews were great, and i looked them on on youtube and heard them and said hey for 50$ ( now 59$) how can i go wrong, well i literally just got them from UPS and hooked them up within 2-3 minutes of unboxing( very well packed) i then connected them to my headphone jack with the provided wiring and i am AMAZED how CLEAR these speakers sound the bass is also really good too! Ive tried all different genres of music from dub step,rap,metal,pop you name it and it all sounds crystal clear. I have already recommended these to my brother and some other people. I really am contimplating picking up a SECOND set just to have! Everything feels very well built and trust me you will NOT be disappointed.

i got this speakers for 1 month or 2, and i love it i never though that they will be so powerfull for that price,im a gamer so i was searching for some good speakers with nice sound quality so for video games IS AMAZING! for music i give it a a Very good sound for music, if the music is a 64 or a 128 bit sound its going to be a little crushy but is it from 312 is going to be very good :) i got them with a 60 % off so it cost me like 45 dlls, yea i search some unboxing and reviews of the system but there not enough to convince me, so i read some reviews from amazon and there we're positive, so i bought them and here there are in my asus g73 :) if your looking for for powerfull, nice looking and nice quality sound this are perfect, just wait until there in offer :).Pros:sound quality is over 9000!subwoofer is over the limitcheap price for this amazing speakersCons:finger prints are very fast on the speakers.on music u cant get it hear that amazing sound just like in videa games like Battle field 3 or skyrim.

I bought this system looking a replacement to my current speakers which had the right channel broken. These speakers hit a nice price point while looking very stylish and being a good size to easily fit within my setup. I was really looking for a set with separately adjustable volume and bass, since I adjust this often depending on if I am playing games or listening to music. The speakers perform great, with quality sound, good bass, and good volume. I felt like I was hearing some parts of the audio for the first time, it was excellent!I definitely recommend these speakers to people looking for good quality at a mid range price.

Replacing with a thicker shielded 3.5" Stereo cable resolved the issue, and now I am very pleased with the quality.Speakers came well packaged and with a 3.5" Stereo cable and the 3.5" to RCA cable. The separate box for the input is appreciated as it gives more options for where you can setup the speakers.

I bought these speakers for my TV and its performance is outstanding. Speakers sound clear and loud enough for my room. I love the bass control. No distortion at all. I like the fact that they are small enough to fit almost anywhere and still deliver good quality sound. Love the design. Very well done. Setup was simple and quick.However, it would be nice if it had a treble control as well a remote control for volume. Don't like the fact that I have to get up to adjust the desired volume. I ended up buying extension cables so it wouldn't be so far. Also, the blue power light indicator is very bright and can be annoying at times, especially at night.Other than that, speakers provide good sound for its price and size.

I purchased these speakers because they had the volume console that had two inputs. This is nice for having my desk computer and laptop plugged into the same set of speakers and having a volume control that sits on the desk top. The light on the console is very bright and blue, I taped over that right away!In the ultra-cheap area of speakers, you are basically limited to 2.1 set-ups due to the flatness of non-sub speakers. Having a subwoofer in your cheap speakers can add the essential depth to the things you listen to.With the bass all the way down, these sound like my laptop speakers, but with the capacity for greater volume. With the sub adjusted appropriately, these sound excellent for listening to just about anything and for gaming. They get plenty loud and have a pretty cool appearance, if somewhat eccentric.For the price, these represent an exceptional value. I replaced a 5 year old set of Sound Stix from Harman Kardon with these, and have noticed no real dip in my ear's enjoyment. I am a musician and listen to jazz and classical music and it all sounds great for your workstation speakers. Granted, I have a full-range set of Hi-Fi speakers for extended listening sessions, but these are an excellent set for a desk. They also are great for games. Just get the subwoofer settings dialed for your specific environment.

For the price you can't go wrong, and that it the best way to describe my purchase experience.Using an A/B amp configuration, you're paying $50-$60 for speakers that sound like they could cost $100 or more. In all reality, these may be gaming speakers, but they play music better than the $150 Logitech 5.1 set-up I have. As for the gaming aspect, I have yet to break them in, but I am sure the performance is there, as well.I'm going to keep this review short by summarizing the best things you're going to get from the product. For one, say hello to crystal clear midrange and highs. I've never heard percussion so well articulated as I have heard from these speakers. It brings the experience of listening to your favorite genres alive, and in my case this is death metal, black metal and the like. It handles it all very well. As for the bass range, most reviews are right in hearing some distortion at high levels. Thankfully, the bass response is so impressive that you really shouldn't have to go anywhere past 55-60% on the dial.My advice is that anyone shell out the $50 for these speakers in addition to considering buying a backup set. Before these I was considering other models from Logitech and Creative. Both are good brands, but this particular item is a diamond in the rough - literally. Also, if you're turned off by the outwardness of the red coloration on the satellite speakers, I would say the picture makes them look a little more gaudy than they truly are. All in all, between the sub and sats I feel as if these are pretty cool-looking.Just my two cents. All I know is that I am thrilled with this purchase.

They aren't expensive, so I didn't expect much, but considering the initial quality and the fact they broke in 3 days I have to strongly recommend no one else purchase this item. Right when I received the box I knew it wasn't high quality due to the weigh - something I was aware of already in reading the product description. No biggie, wasn't looking for something professional. As mentioned in other reviews, when using the headphone jack you still hear sound bleed through on the speakers. No biggie, I didn't expect to use that feature anyway. There were initial sound problems through the speaker that could only be fixed when manipulating the connections on the back of the main control box. Seemed hokey, but ultimately I got it so the static was gone. After three days they broke altogether and emit a high screeching noise at any volume. Going in the trash. Maybe I just got a dud since others reviews are positive - take it with a grain of salt.

I really wanted to love these speakers. I have a small 2.1 Altec Lansing system that I've had for almost 8 years. I thought the GX speakers would be a nice upgrade according to the reviews. Unfortunately, I'm not impressed. The speakers are very bright. Female vocals are shrill sounding and anything in the higher Hz ranges is also very harsh. The little sub is decent though. They can definitely put out some power, but the sound quality leaves something to be desired. My old Altec system sounds much better with a flat EQ. With the GX series, I have to really tone down some of the highs to make them sound decent. Your mileage may very as always, but these are not working for me.

I bought my speakers from WalMart because the Amazon price was not competitive. I see now that they've dropped their price. Sigh ... I prefer Amazon, but sometimes their pricing practices are frustrating. The speakers themselves provide great sound for the price. They were easy to set up and I really like the control box which has an on/off-volume control, a bass control, and headphone and microphone inputs. The sub-woofer does a good job. Depending on the type of sound/music, the satellite speakers are a little shrill for my taste. I got around the problem by pointing them about 45 degrees off-axis so they were not pointing directly into my ears. I suppose I could use an equalizer to try and eliminate the problem also. Why didn't I give the speaker set at least four stars? Because the LED on the front of the control box is blindingly bright. In a dark room with only the computer monitor providing light, the brightness of the LED is glaring and incredibly annoying. I put a piece of black electrical tape over the LED and I can still see light through the tape! Also, the satellite speakers have no protection for the speaker cones. Probably not a big issue, but one does need to be careful that nothing touches or hits them.

I needed to replace my set of cheap computer speakers. This is not the first time so this time I decided to try something with a little more quality than the standard computer speakers you usually find on the shelf of your local Best Buy or computer store. Once you start looking you find that there's a pretty big price gap between low end and high end speakers. The Genus speakers fall somewhere in the middle, more toward the lower end in cost. But these sound very good -- much better than the cheap speakers they replaced. One feature I was really looking for was a local volume control. I have several devices hooked up to one set of speakers using a TCC TC-716 6-Way Stereo Source Selector. Having a single volume control makes things a lot simpler. I prefer the smaller mouse style controls some of the cheap speakers have but the bigger box used by Genus works fine in the set up I have.

Had some weird problems during the first month of use.. There would be times where the towers would emit this high frequency noise and sometimes i could hear it through the music unless the speaker volume was up pretty high. Didn't know how to fix it, and there would be other times where the speakers would make this sound(at first i thought it was the hard drive going through the speakers but it wasn't). Anyways.. These issues suddenly disappeared(if they never existed i'd give 5 stars! but i'm sure its not a widespread issue.) The mids and highs are very crisp and clear, the towers can handle higher volumes(highest i ever use is like 70-80% and they don't sound distorted). One thing i would've liked was if the sub-woofer had a bit more kick in it. I listen to a lot of hip hop and the bass presence is there but it's not that strong, but who am i to bitch about it.. I got these when they were 45 bucks, they're 51 now, but it's still worth every penny if you're looking for budget speakers.

These speakers sound really good, like others have stated, if the satellite speakers would have some sort of cover over the 3" driver to protect them, that would make me feel a bit better, I'm worry one of my kids will put their fists through them, I also wish that they could be shut off without having to readjust the volume level when turned back on, both issues very minor to me. Well worth the money, probably the best set of speakers on the market in this price range and I would buy again.

Brilliantly clear-sounding speakers is great for pumping the music in a room as big as a basement or playing instrumental and classical works for studying. Aesthetically pleasing and compact design is great for desks, etc. All of these things make me want to love this product.However...... my subwoofer appears not to be working. I've ran subwoofer tests with no sound or vibration producing out of the subwoofer whatsoever. I've cranked the volume, no dice. I have checked and double checked the wiring. I've set my equalizer to BASS BOOSTER on iTunes on my Mac Air. Still no bass. I'm disappointed in this because of all the rave reviews I've read on this product. I was really looking forward to enjoying the full production of sound this product claims to output.
