To be honest, I do not own these speakers. However, my roommate owns them, and between the times I have played music on them, and listened to my roommate play music, I can say that you will not find a better pair in this price range. Due to living in a dorm, I rarely hear these speakers at full volume. Even at 50% volume or less, I can tell you with 99% confidence (math joke), that the bass is once again, the best you can get for the price. Now: Do not expect the power or quality of a $200 pair of speakers. For instance, I am saving to get the Corsair SP2500 2.1 system. The Genius speakers will not compare to these. So, if you're on a budget, but are unwilling to sacrifice quality, these Genius speakers are perfect. Again, I can't provide a more indepth review as I don't own these speakers.

I have always skimped on speakers, because, let's face it -- sound is sound, right? And if you're not a audiophile, what does it matter? Well, this sound system is making me into a believer in quality sound systems. The video games that I play sound so much better and I actually enjoy being shot at more now because, quite frankly, it sounds amazing.Now, if you could just get rid of this obnoxious blue LED on the command console, you'd be perfect!

The sound was great right off the start. However, I noticed a hiss when no audio was coming through. I unplugged, replugged, moved things around, nothing. I later tried a different audio cable from the computer to the speaker box and that cleared it up instantly. So if you hear a hiss coming from your speakers, check the audio cable connection. Just make sure your power is unplugged first.As far as the speakers, they get loud, the bass is really pretty good, and so far everything seems amazing. Good quality for the price.

I used to have the Logitech Z313's, they were okay at best. And then i stumble up on these here that match everything about my computer (my tower, mouse, keyboard glow red) And i read the reviews and i saw how awesome they were to people, there were some bad reviews, but i dont know what they are talking about, they are only $50 - $60 because of tax and shipping, and for that price id say you get more than what youd expect. The bass is amazing, even if you have a bad quality song, you can still feel and hear everything, but with a high quality song, you really dont even need to have the bass all the way up to feel like youre in an ocean..to me these are just amazing

I bought these speakers for my desktop which I use for playing games and watching videos. The sound quality is great for any game or movie. I have been playing Black Ops 2 recently and while these speakers are not full surround sound they are great for the game. The sub, which I have just below the table is great and the two side speakers have a great sound. I have never had the desire to turn them up past half and they have always performed extremely well. The only issue I have with this set is the blue light that is on to tell you that the speakers are on. It is ungodly bright especially if you have it sitting on your desk looking at you, which is the best place to have it if you are going to be adjusting the sound at all. I put some tape over the light and now the issue is gone.

The reviews don't lie, this is a bada** PC speaker system. I upgraded from a cheap pair of Altec Lansing BXR1221 2.1 Speaker System (Black) which I thought sounded OK for what it's worth, subwoofer was definitely under powered but what can you expect from something the size of a small tissue box.. This is not the case with these speakers, this subwoofer has some power to it despite it's small size difference, dubstep or any beats made to have some thumping bass sound amazing, rock still sounds good just by turning back the independent bass control slightly, youtube videos with narration sound great because of the bass control also. I found myself too often opening up beats audio and changing my sound settings just to watch youtube videos after playing dubstep because the voices were so muffled with bass. With this it's a 1 second knob turn. Love them. Recommended.

I got these becasue of all the 5-star reviews, but I don't think these are quite 5-star speakers. I replaced a set of broken Creative S2 speakers with this set and I liked the sound of the Creative speakers better. I'll go with 4 stars for these becasue they are only $50 and sound decent with some EQ. Hopefully they will keep working longer.As everyone else has commented, the look isn't subtle. These stand out on my desk with the shiny red covers on the cones and scorpion logo. There is also a bright blue off/on LED on the amp that's a little intrusive. Having the headphone jack and volume control on my desk is convenient, though it does take up some extra space.There is something odd in the midrange response, making the speakers sound boxy and a little muddy, and there is a little sibilance on cymbals and singing. Software equalization in iTunes sorts most of the issues for music. Unfortunately, I don't have systemwide EQ so I'm out of luck for games. As other reviewers have commented, the subwoofer is not very wall balanced to the treble speakers. You have to turn the subwoofer all the way up and run the system at relatively low volume to get a rich, warm bass. I don't like my computer speakers loud so it's not an issue but it's something to be aware of if you like to listen from the next room.

Well other than all the bad reviews I read.. These speakers work very well for the price.. One thing that did stick out like others were mentioning.. When you go to use the headphone jack it still puts out little sound through the speakers.. Other than that I am pleased with these and very nice for the price.. I have had these for about a month and crank them up all the time.. I give em a 4 because of the headphone jack.. but other than that I recommend for cheap price with nice sound..

I asked for these for Christmas because my older Altec Lansing speaker set was going out on one side. All I can say is that these things are amazing! The highs and mids are so clear and the bass really hits. I use these on my PS3 with a variety of games. The sound of my sword unsheathing in Skyrim, my gun firing in Black Ops 2, the engine roaring in Need For Speed. It all sounds great. You really feel more immersed in your games.Movies sound great on it as well. The soundtracks cannot sound any better. I highly recommend these. One thing is that the sub is kind of big for smaller setups so make sure you have some room.

I have to say that I am very impressed with these speakers. For the price the sound is on a par with speakers several times its price. These speakers beat hands down 2.1 speakers from Logitech and I like them better than the Bose speakers. The midtones are clear and defined, treble comes through clearly, and bass is great. The satellite speakers have a plastic housing and the surround/bass unit is made of composite, but for the price I think that is to be expected.The only reason I can think of for not purchasing these speakers is if I wanted a full surround sound setup.I think that this is one of the best purchases I have made on Amazon as a customer. The reviewers said that these were great speakers, and now that I have them they are to be believed. If you are looking for low cost computer speakers, then look no further than these. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I received these today, and immediately set them up and could not stop listening to them. Ran through all different kinds of music, different videos, and a game to test as many different kinds of sounds, and none disappointed. Had a wierd hum to them but i realized it was from my cordless home phone sitting right next to the volume box. The low price made me question if they would be a good buy, and i am glad i was wrong. These speakers pack a punch for a lot cheaper than what i was considering on spending. And thanks to the other reviews i read that eventually made my decision for me.

If you want a really nice set of speakers for the computer, these are those! While you won't 'rock the house' with them, they have really nice sound and good volume for their size. The base sounds a bit 'tinny' at times and I think if the case was lined inside, the base would sound more solid. However, it sounds fine as it is and I am very happy with my purchase!

Maybe i was over excited about the awesome reviews for this low-priced sound system, but i was a little let down. Out of the box, the speakers have a cheep, made in china feel. And yes: they are as ugly as they look. Not to mention the LED light on the front of the controls is a blinding brightness!The sound quality isn't bad, I'm no audiophile but it didn't blow me away either.all around, this is a $50 sound system. It seems to be made to be marketed for gamers: with fast and furious looks and scorpion decals on the large, bassy woofer. I'm sure explosions sound great on this system, but i bought it to listen to background music and the occasional movie on... which I'm sure other systems out there at a similar price point are just as good for. I just hope it holds up to the test of time.

I own Logitech Z-680, Klipsch ProMedia and Altec Lansing 2.1 and the Z-680 is my 1st choice, but speaking on the Genius SW-G2.1 sub it's a lil bit in the boomy end, but I haven't heard anything else in it's price range even close. Boomy or tight, turn the volume about 12:10 clockwise and tune/EQ the settings on your source player and you can't buy anything on the market in this price-range and get more dBs/SPL. Now the satellites are a bit lacking in upper mid's and highs, but over all this is probably the best you'll be able to buy at this price on the market for years to come. Whoever don't like theirs sell it to me, I need about 5 more.

First off, I will admit that my previous speakers were Soundsicks II - http://www.amazon.com/Harman-Kardon-SoundSticks-II-Multimedia/dp/B0001DBEM4 - so I knew that this was going to be a downgrade.The sound quality of these speakers is terrible. Tinny, far-away sounding- unacceptable. I'm sad- I really did do a lot of research for speakers in this price range and thought I was making a good decision- but I am highly dissatisfied with these. Not sure if I got a bad egg or a lemon, but I'd rather just jack up my laptop's internal speakers than deal with this system. I actually should have returned them- I bought them months ago and was dissatisfied from the beginning- but at this point it's probably too late.These speakers are an annoying waste of money.

I don't know where people are getting the idea that these are as good as $200 speakers. Maybe they've never heard good speakers.These tinny Chinese speakers completely lack a mid range. It's like listening to your laptop speakers + a subwoofer. You do get a lot of volume for $50 though, and what range they do make is pretty clear, and I wouldn't expect $50 speakers to be much better than this so it's not a bad deal per-se. I've noticed they sound pretty good for electronic / hip-hop, but anything with real drums and hi-hats (like classic rock) sounds, to be blunt, unlistenable. Adjusting the EQ in software helps but it's not great.All I can say is that anything that "sounds too good to be true" probably is. Oh and the RCA cable that came with it was dead on arrival, so I don't have a lot of hope that they'll last either, but who knows. I'll probably keep them because they are cheap enough that the "sound per dollar" equation works out to make them acceptable enough to own, but don't expect anything but $50-ish quality speakers, no matter what these other reviews say.

sound quality depends on the source as well as the output. a bit of distrotion at max bass. Overall great sound quality in highs, mids, and bass (when at medium bass level). Love it, matches my computers and computer set-up which was a bonus. for a while i had a problem with sound being played on the speakers a little bit while i had my headphones plugged into the unit, and i dont remember how i solved the problem but it works fine now. Love them, i even got another set for my other computer. Been a year but i love the set-up and subwoofer. the sub adds to movies really niceley (the rumble and shaking of the room during certain scenes) and really nice for dubstep and other bass heavy music.

i'm a cheapskate so i decided to get a computer speaker system instead of paying hundreds for surround sound system for my tv.This is a great system for a small room like mine. THEY ARE LOUD!! if you're worried that it won't be loud enough or that it won't have enough bass then don't be. having the volume half up is extremely loud.for under 100 bucks these are great. i found them better than the logitech z313. They come with the rca cable to plug into the tv. sound is very clear and crisp. great for jazz, rock/metal, folk. amazing for video games, my neighbors are going to hate me. its great that you can control the volume and bass. i wish the design and colors were different but oh well. very pleased, like i said i you have small room then this system is perfect

Disclaimer : I am not an audiophile. I do not own 7 different audio systems, and I can't tell you if the mp3 I'm hearing is 128 or 192 kb/s. I am just a gamer that also likes to watch movies.Sound is great.The little control box is the main thing why the product is cool. It's small, so it can go on the desk. It has two control volumes, one for the volume (duh), the other for the bass. My neighbour loves it I guess. And it has a jack plug for earphones.This is nothing incredible, it's just exactly what I wanted, for a neat price

Bought these to replace my Logitech Z-540. I heard great things about these speakers. I don't know what they are listening to because what i heard was bad. The bass is all distorted. I am sending them back & spend the extra for the klipsch 2.1 ProMedia speakers which were my first choice anyways. If you want to just listen to sounds & don't care about really bumpin your music then this will do but do not expect something that will blow you away.

I just wanted good sound for my pc, and I'm very concerned about value. The sound quality is absolutely terrific. Highs, mids, lows - no problem. Loud enough to easily fill my computer room without any distortion. I was so impressed, I bought a second set for my brother who also loves them. To get better sound, you will have to invest at least three times as much. There are only two things I don't like about these speakers. Their look is almost too flashy for me - red and shiny. Secondly, I wish the satellites were a bit heavier. But I will easily overlook both of those issues for the great sound quality at a low price. I recommend them for any casual listener who has less than $150 to spend.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas since he is a big gamer and in dire need of some new speakers. I thought they would be better than the speakers he currently has, but I had no idea they would be this good! Listening to the sound as he's playing, it's hard to believe he's playing the same games! It has a really great subwoofer and a good sounding bass, so it brings a whole new level to the games he's playing.Apart from the amazing sound, I love the red chrome on the speakers themselves. I only wish the red on the controls was chrome as well.

Not gonna lie I was a little skeptical when I ordered these speakers, I had never heard of the brand. I have not had any problems with these little guys. And surprisingly they are very loud, and full. The sub pushes strong, and the speakers handle the highs and mids great. I also really like the " head unit" with the controllable bass knob. In my opinion these are better then my last pair of Logitech 2.1 set up.Cheers.

The one problem i find about this product is the chord length that goes to the headphone jack i.e. the aux cable isnt long enough and similarly the chords going to Sub-woofer and speakers are not long enough to place them distant apart.What would you also notice, like others have correctly commented, the sound output from these speakers are not jarring at the same time, they are sometimes not loud enough when i, say, go to the kitchen while still wanting to listen to my music or videos

These speakers did not work upon arrival. I tried using my mp3 player via auxiliary and all you could hear was faintly distorted sounds of what I believe was my music. Then as I was pulling the aux cord out, BAM there goes the music playing... ?????? How does the music play with the cord half way out of it's socket I have no idea but I was done. It's been returned and I've been refunded, thankful for Amazon's amazing return policy...

I needed a new set of computer speaks to replace my oldschool 5.1 Dolby System. My old system had a huge honki' subwoofer, little speakers in every corner of my house, and wires down the wall to boot. But I really feel like a fool for ever keeping those after plugging these speakers in. These sound great, super clear, the bass is absolutely fine (plenty loud to anger my neighbors!), and heck, they even look kind of cool.Buy these speakers if:- You appreciate good sound quality- You want an incredible sounding speaker set for only $50.Don 't buy these if:- You are an audiophile. You get what you pay for people, these speakers rock for $50. But they wouldn't rock for $200.

I would highly recommend these to anyone that is looking for a nice looking set of speakers. I just got them today which is extremely fast shipping considered I ordered them this past Tuesday. As for right now I'm just testing them out and they are working out better than expected. Will come back later to leave a review after some usage.After owning these for about a week, I'm extremely impressed by the sound quality. I have no issues out of these at all.

Needed to replace a pair of dell computer speakers. Found these, had good review, and they are terrible. Volume button sticks, can't get intermediate volume, only low or crank it past its sticking point and it is too high. Intermittent static in the right speaker, and the left speaker sometimes does't work at all. With all the choices out there, go with something else.

Got these guys last week and I love them. Windows rattle when I'm playing Borderlands 2. A couple of albums sounded a little off initially, but I just adjusted the subwoofer and now they sound great. No, these are not high fidelity speakers. No, these are not going to wow a true audiophile. They will, however, rock your games, and any music you put through them. These were for my office/game room and they do their job perfectly. Seriously for $45-$50 these are terrific speakers. I'm debating now, though, if I shouldn't have gone for these guys Genius GX-Gaming SW-G2.1 3000 with Two Input Jacks for PC/TV/DVD/Game Devices instead. Ah, well. I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend these to anyone.Edit: The blue LED on the volume box is freakin' BRIGHT!! Wowzer.

I bought this speaker system after doing a lot of research and reading reviews here on Amazon. I came to the conclusion that this was the best system for me and I was 100% right! My neighbor has been making a lot of noise early in the mornings and I started blasting some hardcore punk with this beautiful little speaker system about 30 minutes before he wakes up every morning to show him i'm not messing around. I could hear the bass from the elevator in my hallway so I take it this neighbor had no problem listening to my songs in high quality (very crisp and clear) albeit through the wall.

First, the speakers are great for the price, metallic percussion will sound a little tinny, at least at first, but I hear many things that went unheard with the speakers shipped by Dell. I particularly like the non-flabby bass and how well it integrates with the monitors. Quite a lot of goodness for the price.But Amazon had an "Often ordered together" cable listed that I just ordered, thinking they would be used to hook speakers to PC. But the speakers have no connectors for USB or HDMI connections, so why would Amazon suggest such a disjointed bundle? The cables are HDMI and look like a quality produce, but it's a mystery what they have to do with the speakers.Bottom line, a well-spent $60, and the next step up is probably $200 to an Audio Engine for a fuller midrange sound.

Great speakers came on time packing was good no problems or harm to productPros: Loud speakers for their size they are really quite loud, The bass is really good for a sub as small as it is you can actually feel the bass in your chest, Small speakers easy to fit in many places with ease, also very easy to set up very quick installCons: None that i have noticed

I had a set of Bose PC Speakers for the past couple of years. Those speakers were never great but did the job with a small foot print. I wanted to get new speakers to improve the sound of music coming from my pc again. I hated the old days of need a sub woofer and 6 other speakers. So i wanted small footprint with both the speakers and sub woofer with a low price. These speakers are great!! I am a avid gamer and a die hard music fan. I cranked The Black Keys on these things and they sounded phenomenal. Low foot print, low price, GREAT SOUND!

For the price it does not really get better than this. The two stereo speakers deliver enough volume to easily feel the room, The sub also works very well considering it does not have its own power supply just the signal of the audio going though it. Im completely satisfied with these speakers, i mostly use them for playing iTunes and videos. I really love the control box for volume and bass it has a nice quality feel and looks awesome

Very clear, and deep sharp base. They are very stylish in a gamer sort of way and I love the control box, except for the blindingly bright blue LED light on it. I noticed that headphone volume is very low when plugged into the control box.Overall a wonderful deal for music or gaming.

Having the ability to turn up or down the sub/bass is a nice feature. They have very clear and good sound (unless the mix on whatever is playing is bad, and then a noticeable "tinnyness" is audible. I'd recommend these to anyone who is both on a budget and who wants good speakers.

These sound great and look pretty fetching. The only problem I ended up having was that the light letting you know that it's on is WAY too bright. If the volume box isn't tucked away in a cupboard, it'll light up an entire room. major points for that.

This little system really exceeded my expectations as they were low because of price and description. The sound is very clear and the bass, adjusted correctly, is not overpowering or does it make it sound like crap.The wiring is a bit excessive and complicated, but what wires arent? The system is pretty load too, but dont expect a house rattling experience like other higher end systems.Overall this is a great lower end system that is perfect for movies and music for a smaller room or area. Very clear and wonderful!

The system as a whole is great! Speakers are super clear and loud, and the sub sounds nice but if u want something that is going to "BUMP" then keep looking... The only way to get the sub to "bump" hard is by cranking the volume really loud the problem with that is that the speakers are too loud and they over power the sub all the time... If you want something for gaming, and watching movies they are great, but if you want to bump your hip hop or reggae music these are not for you.

I bought this to product hook up to a Kindle to stream audio in my kitchen. The sound from the speakers is nice and rich. Point off for the extremely bright blue "on" light. Put a piece of paper and tape over it to mute it out a bit. I could also turn the volume full throttle without the speakers getting overwhelmed. That could be by design so as not to blow them out. The speakers may break in a bit too to allow for greater volume. As it is it's loud enough for a kitchen. Nice sound!
