After my pair of Logitech Z-10's died, I shopped for a replacement paid of 2.0s. Gigaworks ranked pretty high.The good:-Good highs and mids, with only minor distortion at high volume-Design is modern and footprint is compact-Easy access aux in and headphone jack-External power brick (better than internals and easier to replace if fried)The bad:-Very poor lows (understandable from a 2.0, but when compared to the old Z10s, they are underwhelming). Considering the touted BasXPort, I wasn't impressed.-Only analog, no digital input or USB for that matter-No easy off switch. Must turn the volume dial all the way down each time to power off.

I also bought the Bose Companion2 and no comparison, these take the cake. Very nice clear sound and decent base. Factoring in these are 2.0 not 2.1 I love them!!

I really love these speakers for my desktop computer. The big knobs with tone control makes this a very good speaker purchase. I would definitely buy this again.

I purchased these to replace a set of Harman Kardon soundsticks, largely to escape high volume distortion problems that tend to plague signal-over-USB speaker systems. The Creative units take signal via a conventional phono plug, and have an appealing price point and aesthetic quality to them, so I figured I would give them a shot.At low volume they offer an acceptable sound quality, albeit somewhat tinny and shallow. At high volume they offer little more than boomy, inaccurate bass and shrill high frequency. Midrange is essentially non-existent and a lot of EQ tweaking is required to get anything remotely resembling good sound out of them. I suspect this is largely due to Creative's attempt to make relatively small drivers produce reasonable low end, however in doing so they sacrifice overall quality below 500 hz with any kind of music, especially anything with any depth to it. Listening to classical guitar on these speakers is sonic genocide.David Bowie's "Cat People" is delivered with a muddy, garbled drone at around 150hz and a complete loss of all the deep, light percussion in the song's intro. A song that should be larger than life sounds like it's being heard from the next room. Andy McKee's "Art of Motion" is reproduced to a degree that would make angels cry and guitarists strongly contemplate suicide. Even playing generic bleep and pop electronica ends up accomplishing little more than a headache from the poppy, high frequency "bass" these speakers provide.A few db of EQ gain at 400-1k Hz and a few of cut at <80 Hz improves them remarkably, but they are still quite disappointing.For example, comparing these speakers to an actual low-cost studio monitor like the Alesis M1 is a flat out hilarious folly that serves to illustrate exactly how horrible the Creative speakers are at reproducing sound. A 50% increase in purchase price yields sound quality that is many, many times superior.Lessons learned: Attempts to reproduce quality sound in a small form factor speaker system is an exercise in futility. Clear some desk space and get some proper drivers.

This is not for playing club/dance music at the highest volume although it still sounds quite nice. Remember , these are after all pc speakers. Dont try to replace a stereo system with two desktop speakers. Overall quality for the buck is well worth it... Your expectations have to be reasonable... You want Grade A+ quality speakers? Pay more !!!! Simple...

These speakers came packaged very well and when I opened the box they seemed to be well made. They look good sitting on the desk with my monitor and were really easy to set up. I listen to lots of music while I am on the computer and these speakers do an amazing job. They were clear and you could hear the separation of instruments while they were playing. They may lack a little in the bass department but that is to be understood since they are 2.0 and don't have a subwoofer. Another nice feature about these speakers is that although they are tall, they don't take up much space on my desk. Speakers come with everything you need to connect them. If you are looking for a nice set of 2.0 speakers in the $100.00-$150.00 price point, these should be highly considered.

Great speakers if your not a stickler about heavy bass. I actually bought these to replace a set of speakers with a sub woofer. Great speakers but sub woofer disturbed everyone in the house so had to get good speakers that would still pack a punch with bass. I actually found the t20s first because we had them at work but found these which had better reviews and emphasized bass without a sub woofer. The bass is great but definitely not on par with a decent sub woofer. Also you don't get that static sound when you turn up the volume which is great for when we throw house parties or watch movies. The control for the bass and treble are on the front which is also a plus along with the external volume control. If you like great sound quality and decent bass, I recommend these. The only con I have is the price which a little high but i bought them on sale for $99 which is still somewhat high but I don't regret it. great speakers overall

I used to have the Logitech X540 5.1 speaker system, but I only used two of the speakers. My reasoning for purchasing the Creative T40 Series II 2.0 speakers was to get a device designed for stereo, not five channels. When I got the T40s, being the audiophile I am, I immediately noticed a huge spike in bass at one particular frequency. It was so bad that I thought of returning the speakers, but I decided to wait it out. A month later, the speakers were broken in using various dubstep artists and now the bass sounds perfect. I would say the bass is better than the stand alone subwoofer from the X540. One major benefit of the T40s is that you get stereo bass, which I find very useful when playing Modern Warfare 3. The midrange, treble, and bass are all seamlessly blended together to form a very smooth frequency curve using the default dial settings, which is where they remain for me.

After I ordered this product, I was bit worried due to few reviews about its low bass.But I am 100% satisfied after using it for a week. It has bass and treble adjustment. Those who interested in chill sound, reduce bass and increase treble.For Bass, reduce treble and increase Bass. If both are in full, you may not feel good bass.Now its rocking my apartment. I never used high volume as its too high.Don't under estimate as its an 2.0 speaker and have no woofer. Both the speakers have an hole in top of the speaker works like a dedicated woofer. Able to feel the force air comes out from the hole.................While typing these dots, I was thinking about any cons about this speaker.Not able to find any negative about this master piece.Recently I spent huge money(350$) in 5.1 home theater system for my parents. But this 2.0 is 200% better than that 5.1.Yes. 100% I will recommend it.

I had Logitech Z4 for 5 years - was OK but when they broke I decided to try something different. I am considering myself an audiophile (turntables is the only way to go!) so I wanted a decent quality even from my computer. All I can say - these are great. Definitely take more space than your average Logitech but sound is simply incomparable. Bass is fine - tried "Something in the way" - sounds very clear; much better than Logitech's Z4 subwoofer; highs and middle are perfect. Separation to channels is excellent. Highly recommended.

Great speakers for the price and gets loud enough for all my movie watching and gaming needs in an apartment. Very balanced sound but not high definition. The highs gets slightly static at high volume and the bass doesn't shake anything.

I bought these speakers sight and sound unseen. They were bought to replace basic PC speakers with a sub woofer. This system provides more punch and a higher volume, and sound very good with my EQ. They can fill any room with volume.

Ordered the Creative T40 2.0 speaker system to upgrade my 20 year old budget 2.0 speaker system. Seriously considered a 2.1 possibly a 5.1 pc speaker system however space was limited. Completed all my due diligence reading reviews on Amazon, Newegg, et al. Shopped around avoiding used speakers normally purchased via eBay. Cheapest price this week was on Amazon...ordered on a Monday and delivery/arrival was on Friday the same week...amazing considering seller was in Cupertino, Ca and I reside on the east coast. Typing this review while I am listening to Adele21 on the T40's.....I am one very happy camper. I especially like the fact I can effortlessly connect these T40's to my HD flat panel TV with the supplied adapter. Price difference between the Creative T20 and T40 not that huge making the T40 a better bargain

Was looking at these for a while, did my research and when price was right I went for it. Have the speakers connected to my desktop and through front panel port also to my laptop or cell phone when needed. Solid build, awesome sound quality and great look. Highly recommend!

Good speakers aren't "heard." The sound comes from the middle of the two speakers. These are like that. Very clear. I cranked them up to the max without distortion. Good bass. No subwoofer, so keep that in mind, but lots of bass from a small box. Subtle details in the singer's voice (right now Beth Hart) and symbols from the drum set. Love them. The best price around at Amazon.

These speakers are by no means large. For such expensive speakers, they are quite small. When it comes to sound, the more expensive the speakers are, the larger they tend to get and the better they sound. For $245 dollars, or whatever sale price Amazon chooses to set them at, they had better put out supreme quality.The major complain I see with these speakers is that there isn't deep enough bass at their price. If you are going to get these speakers, you are going to want them for their simplicity and size. They don't take up half of your desk, and they don't have a massive woofer shoving out obscenely low bass. If you feel the need to make your neighbor's house vibrate when you turn your speakers up, these won't do the trick. They can not and will not hit the lows of a woofer, but I wouldn't listen to my music with that much bass even if I had the choice, so it doesn't effect me.Assembly is quick and painless. There are a total of 3 cords; one to plug into the computer, one that connects the speakers, and a power cable. The cords are all nice and long, allowing you to place the speakers just about anywhere you wish around your computer. For these cords to not become a jumbled mess, I suggest that you keep any excess cord tied together, only using what you absolutely need to make everything reach everything else. Besides plugging everything in, the only other bit of setup is screwing the base of the speakers into the speakers themselves with a screwdriver, easy stuff.The speakers are simple to use, which I like. There is a headphone jack and an auxiliary input on the front, which allows you to plug in things like gaming headsets, iPods, and MP3 players. There are 3 knobs on the front as well for sound adjustment. There is the standard volume knob, then there is the bass and treble knobs, I tend to keep them both at about a 2 o'clock angle.At this price, you are not going to get the absolute best speakers out there if you look purely at sound quality. If you want that, buy the massive $250 dollar speakers complete with a 12x12 woofer. If you want speakers that give excellent sound quality while portable and space-friendly, these speakers are for you.Pros:-Excellent sound quality-Don't take up that much room-Easy to assemble-PortableCons:-Not the absolute best for their price-Bass can't go to massive lows

Having listened to high end audio systems, when it comes to the computer and compressed audio files, I don't expect much. Far to boomy or dead. Granted for what these offer, the do what they can and do it well. These produce sufficient highs without being harsh or overly bright. The mid's are mellow and smooth. Obviously on a 2.0 system with these small drivers, one isn't expecting reproduction at the lower end. Their sweet spot is the mid range and I found these refreshing especially with voices. At the current price ~$100, they are pleasing and worth it.If I had a desire for the Creative designers, it would be to couple these T40 II's with the sub from the T3. The overall sound would have a nicer range. :)

Couldn't be happier with this product! I own the T-12's and use those at work. Bought the T-40 series II for the wife, and those things are loud and crisp!! The sound is just awesome! Sure, these are not high end, expensive, speakers, but they sound like it. You get a lot of bang for your buck. Great speakers. I am very happy.

I received the Bose Companion 2 Speakers as a gift ($90) but before opening them I did my research. Somebody recommended these so I did more research and they sounded like a better option - and they are. These things are AMAZING for $100. They have bass and treble dials on the front which is useful if you like dance music or want to turn down the bass at night so as not to disturb people below\above you. the power dial glows blue when they're on (it looks pretty cool). The bass will not blow you away because they're just computer speakers, but its really, really good. i was listening to cello music (im a freak) and the speakers performed awesomely. they also get REALLY loud and you can turn down the bass so you don't blow them out. i fully recommend. a great product. something to keep in mind is that they're over a foot tall and about 6" deep. not tiny. they come with a cover over those bass drivers you see, but the cover is removable. you will not regret buying these!

I have had some logitech speakers that I have been listing to music on for about a year now... I knew there was better sound out there because I bought some decent earbuds earlier this year. I prefer listing to music through speakers, so I have been shopping for a nice set of computer speakers. I knew the logitech speakers were bad when I couldn't tell the difference between the low and high bit rate Pandora. These speakers ARE as good as the reviews indicate. Totally worth the money in my opinion. It is amazing for someone not used to good speakers. They are big... but if you have room - get'em.

These things are great, the best speakers I've ever owned. I use them for gaming in addition to music on both my console and PC and everything about them sounds amazing. The control you get with the bass and treble knobs are a nice addition, making it really simple to tweak the balance to your liking.I would expect any casual and possibly some professional users to greatly enjoy these speakers due to their high quality and performance.Hope this was helpful :)-G
