I have been using the same PC speakers for 5 or so years. They finally gave out and I had to determine what the best course of action was, another pair of cheap sounding inexpensive speakers or get something decent that will sound good. I elected to stop being so cheap and buy a nicer pair of speakers. These have turned out to be very good quality speakers. Currently I use them mostly for PC gaming and to play music off my iphone when the computer is off through the aux port. The sound quality is fairly good, not excellent but close. I'm not an audiophile but I do like to hear my music clearly and sometimes turn it up loud and it seems to do both very well at lower and higher volumes. Pretty pleased with this set of speakers for the last month or two. Hopefully it continues to be such a positive experience.

I purchased these speakers as an addition to my new HDTV. I did not realize that the auxiliary output of the TV is not controlled by the TV remote, so they didn't work for that purpose. I used them on my PC instead, even though I had figured on them being more than I needed for a PC. I am actually happy now, since they are just right for this. Being up close to them as they play, the sound quality is very good. They don't really "crank" to any high degree, but they are far better than any speaker bundled with a PC system.

I would just like to thank the reviewer who recommended the SRS iWOW software. Though it costs $29, it transforms these good speakers into something extraordinary. They are solidly built, well packaged and fairly large. I have a large desk top so that's not a problem. You have volume, bass and treble controls which are nice, but the SRS gives you infinitely more control over the sound. As soon as I installed it and began playing the latest Norah Jones CD, I immediately experienced a range of sound that was very discernible. Logically, she sounds best when set on "jazz" but on "rock" it renders a sound similar to when the SRS is turned off. My wife was listening in the next room (it carries powerfully) and came in to see why the quality of the sound was varying so much. I'm thinking about using these with my TV and buying another model. There is an attachable base which would allow you to widen the footprint and make them work on the floor beneath a TV. I'm not sure I'd be able to run the volume up and down with the TV remote, however. My only criticism at this point is having to turn the volume knob so far to get it up to a decent sound level. I wish it would somehow shut down when the computer is put to sleep.

I've been listening to internet radio music more and more since my local PBS station is broadcasting more and more talk. With these speakers, my computer no longer sounds like Schroeder's piano. I liked them so much that I got another set for my office.By the way, the speaker faces are covered with a thin cloth. They look black, not like the picture. They look great in my office with my all-black furnishings.

when I got my first Computer in 2003 I was using my monitor built in speakers. But when got these speakers I was blown away, the sound is perfect, and the bass excellent. I highly recommend these speaker to anyone looking for great speakers.

Ive been using these for 2 weeks now for college dorm. They sound great, they look great. If you turn up the volume you can get it pretty loud for parties. I can hear it all the way down the hall.

I had a set of the Creative T20 series 1 speakers that I had for around three years until only recently, they packed up and began crackling. I thought those speakers were very good for a 2.0 system and I was very satisfied with them but I decided that when I replaced them, it would be by upgrading to the T40 series 2 speakers.All I can say is wow! I'm so glad I did! These speakers have surpassed my highest expectations. The sound quality is phenomenal! These sound as good or better than many 2.1 systems that are on the market today. The music is sharp and of very high quality without distortion even at high volumes and the bass is booming when you crank it up, it's hard to believe there is no woofer!I'm certainly no audiophile but I like my music to sound good to me. Having said that, I cannot recommend these speakers highly enough- it's very rare nowadays that I am so happy with a purchase as I am with these- fantastic!

These bangin' little beauties are brilliant! I purchased them to use as monitors for my laptop and mixer both in my studio, and on dj gigs at small venues - bars, clubs, restaurants, and house parties, where in-house rigs and rental setups never seem to have decent monitoring - and am quite pleased with their performance. The sound quality is exceptional for my design studio setup, where they provide a nice complement to a larger multi-speaker system in a 550sq ft, high-ceiling space, as well as "local" monitoring for creating mixes and reviewing music; when I'm off to a gig, they pack up easily and are VERY lightweight, and their small footprint allows me to place them just about anywhere on a rig, but they still provide more than enough volume and clarity to monitor what I'm spinning in noisy venues - not to mention, they look quite stylish with my black MacBook and mixer - really, a painlessly-portable, petit, pretty product, packed with plenty of punch, at a palatable price point - the perfect pair.

I bought Creative GigaWorks T20 and I just played it once and I loved it. very next day I saw a deal on T40, so I returned T20 and bought T40 instead. Now I've not played both of them simultaneously but I'm getting a feeling that T40 is not as good as T20. This speaker looks great and feel sturdy. I didn't like the feel of the volume control knobs (they are slippery). And i also liked the fact that they have separate controls for Bass and treble and power button unlike Boss speakers. I would have loved to see a separate power button hidden somewhere in back instead of combining it with volume control.

I use these in the back yard for BBQ's and stuff. They are great and at 50 feet away are still plenty loud. I have a creative xmod wireless signal source that plays from my PC in the house. Sound quality is great with plenty of base but good mid range too. The speakers connect together with a fixed cable and power is from an AC/DC adapter.

I was a bit afraid of buying those speakers - my experience with 2.0 sets were always poor, at best. But the brand and some reviews made my mind and I cannot complain at all.The size was a bit bigger than I expected, but the sound quality is very good and the bass response is impressive. Of course, you won't be able to sonorize the whole house from your office, but at close range you will be satisfied.Assembling is straightforward, front controls and jacks are where they were supposed to be. And there is no background noise (interference) from the earphones jack to bother you, like some brands have.All in all, a great product.

I purchased this speaker system with the highest of hopes, in that I already own a set of Creative Inspire T10 speakers which are connected to my desktop computer. The T10 speakers have a clean, undistorted tone at any volume, and were half the price of the GigaWorks T40s. I know, I should have stuck with those, but I wanted a larger, more powerful 2.0 speaker system (sans subwoofer) for presentations with my laptop in large meeting rooms. I'm so glad I hooked them up at home before taking them "on the road". They were noticeably weak at low volume, and started distorting at approx. 1/3 volume. By the time I turned the knob up halfway and beyond, the speakers sounded like they were going to disintegrate right in the cabinet. Needless to say, they were promptly boxed up and will be on their way back to the seller as soon as I can get them to UPS! Toneworks monitors, here I come!

These are ok speakers, but there are a couple of things that are lacking for the price. 1st I don't think you get the quality of bass that you would get from cheaper speakers. I was a bit dissapointed that they sound rather boxy, and lacked th rich sound that I got from the Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 2.0 (It's really to bad they stopped making it). and they'er also bigger which is another thing that I thought was dissapointing for the sound quality I expected. I think if they used a better driver such as polypropelyne instead of the cheap paper ones they used in these speakers the sound would be better.

No I just got my set today. I am very impressed with the quality of the treble and bass of the speakers. Yes they sound a bit boxy, but they are not huge speakers. Quite impressive for the price. The Features capability are very impressive the auxillary input, headphone jack on it. I was pretty impressed in the versatility of these, they are are a little big to be perfect and extremely versatile. Very easy to turn off and on, features are amazing. I would recommend this to anyone to only want to speakers but good quality sound for the price.

I've tried so many different computer speakers that I've lost count. The speakers that come with any new computer go straight into the trash without even being connected. That's a given. Then comes the dilemma of what to replace those cheap little tin cans with. I'm not a finicky audiophile. I just want good sounding speakers with moderately loud volume capability in a 2.0 configuration. I don't have the room or the desire for a large third component for booming base. These speakers are getting the job done like no other speakers I've ever owned.I cannot express how happy it makes me to turn the volume knob and NOT hear the speakers crackling. Apparently, this requires some top secret speaker engineering, because I've never had a pair of desktop speakers that did NOT crackle or lose output on one of the speakers whenever I touched any of the knobs on them. I'm very pleased with these speakers.

I guess speaker sound is a matter of taste since some of my family members like the sound of these speakers. In my opinion the manufacturer has tried so hard to get lots of bass from these inexpensive speakers that they have neglected the mid-range and highs. If you like hip hop music and thumping muddy bass that obscures everything else these may be for you. If you prefer full clear mid range and soaring highs you will give them away.

'Good', to 'great' speakers soundwise if you consider what produces the sound. Way better than cheap speakers/subwoofer driven by a simple sound card. I keep the volume below 75% because the sound doesn't get louder, it distorts. Overall I say these speakers are awesome for rooms less than 250 square feet. Well reproduced sound fills the room. Love these little guys.

These spearkers are horible. They sound as if they should cost $10.00. For th price the sound is very low and the quality is inferior. I have speakers that cost $70.00 that sound much better

I tried several computer speakers on our new 42" LCD, and always had to go into the audio adjustments to make them sound decent. My mother is elderly and couldn't take a lot of volume and bass. I wanted simple, and these are not only large enough for the Living Room, they sound terrific, and no more fooling with audio adjustments. Bass treble knobs are on the outside, as is a vol knob and handy headphone jack. Very convenient.If I recall, there were a few ways to hook up the speakers, but once set up, I haven't bothered with the cables. There is a bright blue LCD light to show the speakers are on, too bright, I think, and the actual small on/off switch is at back of main speaker. That might be confusing to a new user. The speakers themselves are covered with a panel of fabric.I am not an official audiophile by any means, but I do not have that "gotta have a better one" twinge I get when I buy some gadgets.

These desktop speakers have great sound quality without a subwoofer. The depth of music is very immersive on them, they make amazing computer speakers for all around use. The JBL speakers at around $40 are great for the price, and these cost three times much, but they are worth it.

I bought the creative T20's and thought they sounded good. Then I found out about the T40's and decided I had to have them. The T40's have unbelievable sound and can be connected to anything with an earphone jack (PC, TV, MP3 player, etc.). The bass sounds great for such a small speaker. A subwoofer would have been nice but these speakers still sound good without one. They are kind of expensive but worth it. I connect my MP3 player to them thru the headphone jack and it sounds like a full size stereo.

I didn't have room for a sub on my desk and really wanted some good speakers. I just use them for music. After reading tons of reviews on-line about speakers I finally decided on these. Make sure you get the series 2 though because series 1 has some flaws such as the bright blue light on the front and the power switch being on the back of the speaker. These are great speakers with great sound and look really cool. The bass doesn't pound obviously but for the size of them it is much better than others.

I has bought these to use for my small media player so I can here music on it withbetter quality than may old speakers. They are far better than what I expected at highvolume, Loud and Clear with some quality bass coming out for the size they are.Though at low volume I can here some drop off but it's not a surround sound system soto be expected worth the money to me.
