These speakers sound crisp, dynamic and loud. The bass and treble function works great when you turn the volume up, the speakers sound terrific!! Highly recommended these speakers with the price of $100. I bought mine at Fry's Electronics btw.

I've tried a lot of 2.0 setups, I don't have the room for a sub, and for what it's worth, these sound amazing. They don't compare to my 5.1 in the living room, but it's a 2.0 that puts out plenty of volume.Sound is clear and can easily hear the highs, mids, and lows. The bass is good, read for a 2.0 set. I've yet to hear better for this price range. Picked them up on sale for $80, but knowing how good they are now, I gladly would have spent the $150.They are LARGE. Need about about 4" wide, 6" deep, and 12" high. Expect to lose some desk space, but considering I don't have room for a sub, these work wonderfully.Con: I dislike having the volume/bass/treble controls on the speaker, but that doesn't diminish the quality.If you need the floor space, but don't want to sacrifice quality, pick up a pair.

I have listened from ZZ Top, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Sammy Hager, Albert Cummings, Whitney Houston, to Alan Jackson on these speakers and they sound much better than I expected. I live in an apartment and cannot have a subwoofer. These speakers have lots of bass plus very good overall sound. I can turn them up with no distortion and the sound quality while playing rock, blues, to country is terrific. So far I am very pleased with the quality of these speakers and the price I paid for them.

You would think the volume would be a lot louder on these tall dynamic looking babies but it's not. At least not unless you want to turn the volume knob to 75% of it's capacity. I usually don't recommend pushing speakers too much because eventually they will give in and cause a crackle or bass will sound awful. These speakers fall into the " if I don't turn them up too loud they will hold together category". This will not take a lot of abuse. They also feel light for a pair of speakers this size. I think these should be priced within the $70/80 range not what I payed for them. The sound quality is a bit box'y echo'y sounding..lacking some mids maybe? Mind you I only bought these to use a white noise loop on my ipod at night. I needed speakers that I could use with my earplugs at the same time. These do the job but not could be better.

It took a little breaking in but once they do break in they sound great! I love these speakers and they do get loud for the size.

I buy things on the Internet. Sometimes I'm dissapointed. Not this time. These speakers were delivered on time, and rock! I bought them to replace an older 3 piece system, as I was tired of hearing treble from my desk top and bass at my feet. The Creative Giga Works T40 Series II took care of the problem. Crystal clear and loud. Highly recommended.

I got the T40s just after they came out and my father got the cheaper T20s; if you want to buy in this price bracket I would suggest you save $20 and buy the cleaner sounding T20s. I drive my speakers from a Fatal1ty Pro soundcard and the attempt to get better base with this design with two small speakers doesn't quite work and sounds coloured to my ears. My T40's died after two years when the powered half gave up and just produced crackles and noise when not even connected; in contrast my previous Monsoon electrostatics lasted eight years. I just replaced the T40s with the admittedly much more expensive Audioengine A5 (also sold by Amazon) and the difference is like night and day. The sound is much cleaner and the sense of presence is stunning. If you are an audiophile there is a dearth of anything worth buying in the middle price range between the T20s and the Audioengines.

The Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II is very well made, it replaced my Creative GigaWorks T20 Series 1 2.0 that I had used for 2 years but gave up the ghost because I used it 24/7 ! Very good product in its class IF you don't need a subwoofer . With some EQ work this 2.0 system comes alive . I have these speakers hooked up desk top to my H.P. maybe its a little bit over kill for my system but who gives a rats butt ! Also though not necessary you could ditch the your Sys EQ or Realtek EQ and download SRS Audio Essentials which is a software program that adds more depth and definition to the music.

I use these in my bedroom when streaming movies and TV. They provide excellent sound for my laptop streaming. I recommend them!!! I tried others that we cheaper and returned the others.

You really get what you pay for here.If you are sitting at a computer and want excellent sound projected at you from 2-4 feet, these are your speakers.Had a moment while listening to a song I've heard a million times, but this time I was able to understand all the lyrics.Spectacular.

I have an inexpensive 42" LCD connected to my PC, my PS3 and my WD TV Live media player.As for all the LCDs I know, the speakers are crap. These Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II are an extraordinary complement to any desktop or 2.0 oriented media center. They are stylish, relatively small, and very powerful as well as clear sounding.The bass and treble controls are very useful to provide easy equalization to watch Movies or Internet Videos and listen to your MP3s.Simplicity, high quality and affordability; if that's what you want then buy these puppies, i have them since April 2011, heavily using them and they are still rocking.

As far as near field computer monitors go, these are not bad. Near field meaning listening at your computer desk. Get further than 4 or 5 feet away and they just don't have the bass punch needed to fill a room. In fact if you push the bass to much, it will start to distort. They sound good at your computer work station. The fact they don't have a sub-woofer is a good thing. Most sub-woofers at this price range sound awful and are impossible to place correctly. Try to use the equilateral triangle set up and set them up closer and off to the sides of your monitor for good stereo imaging. Even lesser expensive speakers like these need to be broken or burned in. Straight out of the box they sound harsh and the bass just doesn't sound good. Plan on playing music or better yet play pink and/or brown noise tracks you can download off the 'net(do a Google search) for about 100 hours. The improvement will be substantial. Don't be shy about using the graphic EQ with iTunes or whatever software you use. I am an audiophile and the bottom line is they're pretty good near field monitors and have enough power to get good and loud, but too loud and you're asking too much.

the speakers are big and bulkey and look great with my computer set up, the adjustable bass and treble is so nice, i would recomend these to anybody who cares about the sound quality of their computer

I just received the Creative Giga works T40 series 2 multimedia speaker system. Very nice sound quality. I am an acoustic audio engineer and I really am quite critical of music that is distorted or colored by a speaker system. This system has amazing stereo imaging on the mids and the highs. The base is present, bit not over bearing or over worked (boomy). It also looks amazing with the woven speakers present ( I keep the quality materiel covers off)

I will admit I am a snob when it comes to audio quality. I grit my teeth when I hear poor quality, or see it.My buddy Derek let me pick out his computer setup and the first addition was a soundcard, and some good speakers.He likes quality too, but the 100+ pricetag for a 2.0 speaker system made him nervous.Boy was I relieved when I pulled these heavier than they look speakers out of the package.I enjoy setting things up for those who simply don't know, and it took a few days for these speakers to loosen up, but the result was excellent paired with a soundcard. Super clear and amazing audio quality, better than equally priced M-audio monitors....One additional note was the knobs that were high quality too. I only wish these babies came with a subwoofer. that would be the best system ever. fullrange left and right channels with an equally robust subwoofer. that would be the ticket....Oh yeah did I mention that these speakers look amazing next to the monitor..My buddy was very happy....

Over all good speakers. Powerful enough for music, movies or games.Size, power and price are well balanced. Sound quality is good. Use them in pair with Sound Blaster and like the results.SO, if you looking for relatively small, 2.0 speakers Creative is the way to go.

its sound is great. it has comfortable size compared to 4 or 5 chanel speaker. If someone wants a strong and campact size speaker, I'll recommend this speaker.

Excellent sound quality...does indeed pack some bass, i am using these speakers with my HP Envy 17 3D...sounds awesome with the beats audio...and equalizer configured for amazing sound..got these on the deal of the day...for 79.99...what a steal....

Very nice looking speakers. Easy to setup. I wasn't looking for a high end bass thumping set of speakers. Just to get some decent sound for my games. I found that the sound is great and play as described.I prefer them without the screen covers as the yellow speaker cones are nice to display.Love the volume in a small office, music plays well, sound is rich and full.

easy set up and very good, but not great, sound. i use these in my office with itunes. the sound is very good when used with my itunes eq set to my liking. i have not tried them with a flat eq, so i can't say much about using them in that respect (but why would i try?). bass is solid, highs and mids are good. they are not particularly loud though, so if you're looking for that, look elsewhere. i had the 2.1 cambridge soundworks microworks before (brought them home) and that blew these things away, but probably cost significantly more (i got the gigaworks on sale for $99 here on amazon). well made, good looking if not al little big. overall, i'd say these are perfect for the environment in which i use them, but they probably would not be loud enough for a big room. so... 4 stars. if you buy these for an office or smaller room, i bet you won't be sorry...

Great range, good bass for a 2.0 setup, impressive feel of the entire build.Just a couple weeks out of warranty they started failing though. The volume nob now creates crackling in the left speaker (even via headphones), sometimes resulting in cutting out the speaker entirely. Creative's only offer is to charge me as much as a new setup would cost.

This is awesome. For a 2.0 system and you can still feel the bass. You save space without sacrificing quality. Good choice for a entry level who want to enjoy a good movie or music at home when your space is limited.
