I bought this to make an HTPC from a Zotac Ion motherboard/computer. It would bluescreen after a few minutes. I played with using one stick, changed the order, loaded several versions of operating system from Windows 7 to Vista to XP 32 bit and 64. It would operate LONGER in safe mode, but still would BSOD (blue screen)Swapped with some older Corsair 1G sticks and works fine. It might be just a compatability. They are working fine in an Asus motherboard but I never was succesful using the 4 Gigs in the Zotac.

I only gave this a four because one of the two I ordered was bad and I had to send both of them back to Corsair for replacement. I am being told that two packs are paired together so even though one of them worked I had to send them both back for replacement.I have read over and over again that when adding RAM buy the exact model of ram that is already in the system or replace all the chips with the same new models. I already have these exact two in my system and since I went from 32 bit XP to 64 Bit Windows 7 I decided to up my RAM only because I could.Windows 7 is so much faster than XP it is truly amazing!I did NOT by the RAM to make Windows 7 faster I bought the RAM because I could and because I am staring to do a lot more 3D CAD and Animation and that takes a lot of horsepower.BUY THIS RAM IT IS WORTH THE PRICE!

Upgraded from 512MB (2 x 256MB sticks) to 1024 (2 x 512MB sticks). Simply installed the RAM and it worked like a charm. The laptop runs noticeably faster. Very satisfied with this product!

not much to say or explain, but something to complain, my mobo a (GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX (great mobo after you got it running)) detected a failure on the power supply right after i inserted the ram modules and turned it on, i tried one by one then, and found out the one that was giving the problem, so the one that was DOA(death on arrival) felt pretty hot even if i did set the voltage to 1.8v as it was told on the package, soo what i complain is that this little piece of memory was threatening my mother board, power supply and other components on my PC. then i started to read the reviews and i cant believe Amazon dares to sell such a bad quality item. i m abroad as i told in previews emails to our friendly Amazon.com sells department. so i would like to know what shall we do now... will you keep me as very unhappy buyer i m serious... i waited for almost a month for this memory to be deliver, and when i finally get it one of the 2 modules is death?

purchased this item and received it rather quickly, installed and passed all memtest checks, had some issues getting it to run with the other 2 gig matched pair i had installed but with some tinkering with the timings everything worked out fine and is running smooth. definitely a graet purchase especially at the price, would have picked up more if it was available.

The first Set of TWIN2X4096-6400C5 modules died after a few days and the second set is very unstable on my Intel DG45ID motherboard.I get the "Dreaded Blue Screen" about 2 times a day (or more). I ran MEMTEST86+ and did not have to wait very long for errors. Every pass through the test failed!On Corsair's forum, the RAM GUY seems to think these are 1.9 volt modules and the intel motherboard selects 1.8v by default.I am still waiting for a resolution from Corsair!

I only had 2GB in my Dell XPS 400 (4 X 512), so I bought these and they worked just fine. My previous memory was PC4200 (DDR2-533), but these automatically adjusted downward to the slower speed.

I doubled my PC's memory from 512 to 1 gig with this module, and the only difference I notice is a slight improvement in the speed at which programs open. I bought only because there was a $10 rebate, but I would not pay the price with no rebate. It simply did not make the performance difference I was expecting.

I bought this in conjunction with a GeForce 9800GT graphix card. I felt like with a card so powerful, I needed more RAM to handle it. With 4GB of Corsair added onto my 2 GB, I am now running 6GB RAM on my quad-core system with the 9800GT. Everything is working fine. Games are amazing quality at highest graphic settings and I'm still getting a cool 50 fps.

Buying this RAM cost me an hour of my life... that I'll sadly never get back.One of the two 1GB sticks was shot (my PC failed to boot with it installed). Clearly Corsair isn't big on quality control. It took me a bit to isolate which chip was bad, then I noticed the remaining chip appeared to be running at 667MHz not 800MHz. I really didn't get into trouble-shooting this as, given the DOA chip; I knew they were both going back.NOTE: To the reviewer who suggested bad Corsair chips were due styrofoam peanut packaging ... mine were shipped out peanut free with no other likely source of static. I'm also extremely careful about ESD and wear a strap every time I open up a PC. I'm convinced this thing really was DOA. And, it's not like I'm the only one here... a good number of the reviews talk about these chips showing up dead.I should have saved myself the hassle and paid (literally) $6 more for better memory (which I've now done, Dell part #A0821575).

I first purchased this RAM for my son's computer (Compaq Presario Media Center SR2050NX). I was upgrading his computer from 512MB of RAM (which came installed with the system) to 2GB.While installing them, I did find they were what you might call a "tight fit". You may need to press very firmly for them to slide into place.However, one they were installed, the computer started up and it ran beautifully. A few weeks after we upgraded my son's RAM, I ordered these same sticks of RAM again and upgraded my fathers computer as well (he has them same make and model), and the instillation went just as smoothly.It has been several months now and both computers are working perfectly and there have been no errors or problems. I highly recommend this RAM if it compatible with your computer and you looking to upgrade for a good price.For anyone having difficulty understanding what size/kind of RAM is compatible with your computer, I would suggest trying the Crucial Memory Advisor Tool at the Crucial website.

Corsair makes excellent memory. This set is solid and stable. It runs cool with cool looking heat spreader. I was lucky and got revision 4.1 which is excellent for overclocking. I got mine to run as a DDR2 1066.

Nice. Booted right up first time. I haven't tweaked it as yet, but will soon enough.Mine were packaged in a clam shell blister pack & partially wrapped with air bags. No problems from initial install. Briefly tweaked them, but still have other things to install before I want to test this long term.Sorry to hear about the bad "New Egg" sticks. It seems to be common from them (see my review on the PNY stick a few years ago).

I have a DELL XPS 710 and this memory is sold by Dell as replacement memory. The Dell XPS is noted for being crippled by the BIOS that Dell installed and chained to the system. As a result, you cannot raise the memory voltage above 1.8v and your memory upgrade options are very limited, especially if you would like to increase the speed of your system.So it took a lot of research for me to find that the Corsair kit is approved for this computer (it is rated at 1.8v) and when I found it, I had it overnighted.Waste of $20 right there. At first my system wouldn't get past the BIOS screen. I finally got it to go into the BIOS and changed the memory spec to EPP/SLI and it would boot to Windows. For a minute or so...It will run for no more than 2-3 minutes then the screen goes black and the computer spontaneously reboots.Now I am stuck wondering if this memory simply will not work with my computer, or if I have a bad batch. If it is just a bad batch then I have to order another set and hope it works, etc... If it just won't work with my system then I am just spinning my wheels.And it should work with my system. The voltage and speeds are compatible with the computer.Basically Corsair wasted my time and my shipping money. Buyer beware.

Just like a lot of other reviewers here I had to upgrade the ram on a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop. I originally used the Crucial Memory website to figure out what kind of RAM and how much it could take. Sadly the information they gave me turned out to false. After buying two sticks of 333mhz ram and neither of them working I did a little more research. Came to find out that either this particular laptop is picky as to what kind of RAM it'll work with, or it just needs 266 MHZ PC2100, no greater then 2 sticks of 512mb.Purchased 2 of these and worked like a charm. My girlfriends old laptop is actually useable now and she's very happy.

Motherboard p5b deluxeI have 2 corsair XMS 800mhz running at 5-5-5-12, then added 2 more 3 years later at this incredible price which are 5-5-5-18. I installed it and got 3 beeping beeps on start up. Comp did not boot. I took out the memory sticks, rebooted with original ram at 800mhz, opened asus overclocking tool, reduced the ram speed top 667mhz, turned off comp, then reinstalled my new ram 5-5-5-18 and it started great. Went back in and put the ram to 800mhz. Rebooted perfect at 800mhz. Or I just didn't snap in the ram good enough the first time. Either way I got it to work great. The motherboard only recognizes 3mb but everyone has already commented on that.PS: thanks for the $8 rebate.

Plugged 'em in and they work great (8GB total RAM now). Even though 32-bit apps can't address above 3GB, Windows Vista 64-bit caches data in high upper memory and makes the system perform faster. Arrived fast and in perfect condition. Appear to be of high quality.UPDATE: Had one of these go bad. Started getting Blue Screens of Death. A diagnostic identified which one, I pulled the pair and send to Corsair for warranty replacement. They shipped back the replacements quickly and I'm back in business. Unfortunate that I had a failure but excellent service by Corsair so I'm still a happy camper.

Running a 64-bit Vista Ultimate is very taxing on your system. Now with the built in "System Score" you can gauge your system performance and memory was rated at a 5.2 sub-score.Adding these modules and bringing up my total to 8GB RAM, it raised to 5.8 (6.0 is top...for now)With RAM getting more and more inexpensive, it is a cheap upgrade to enhance performance without draining the pocket.I know I've heard the argument, "go with a different OS (MAC, Linux), but I am a "Windows Guy". It is my bread and butter. Not too many clients, companies, manufacturers, pre-install any other OS on OEM products so there!Anyway, if your system is lagging and you need a boost due to the demanding OS, I highly recommend this product.

What can I say. RAM was free after rebates and a discount code.I use it in a HTPC that is on 24/7 and have not had an issue in 5+ months.They are run at stock speeds and volts, so no idea if they overclock or not.Rebate on them was recieved very quickly also.

We bought this memory for a increase of ram for a gift. Just intending it to add some performance. Wow were we amazed at the speed difference it really gave. It outperformed our expectations with our laptop that we almost didnt give it as a gift. We only had 256mb ram to start so we bought 2 sticks of 512mb(the max on our compaq). I would totally recommend this memory to anyone who is looking to upgrade the memory of your laptop at a price that is almost stealing. Thanks Amazon for providing a class act in keeping the products and the prices real!

Compre unas aca en Venezuela (que salen mucho mas caras por cierto) y pues y la verdad para lo que estan echas dan buen rendimiento. eso si, mas de 850mhz dudo mucho que den ni a 2.3v asi que es cuestiomn de cada quien ver si se las compra, para los basico funcionan, pero para un gran overclock pues... yo diria que pases a buscar algo de otra marca.Buy some here in Venezuela (leaving more expensive by the way) and then the truth and to miss what they are giving good performance. So yes, I doubt much more than 850MHz giving 2.3v or so is everyone's cuestiomn see if they buy for basic work, but for a big overclock it ... I would say move to find some other brand.

A friend from work bought a pair of these and found they were "incompatible" with his board. I snagged them up for $20, pleased with myself for finding such a good deal. HA!One is straight up no good, won't POST. Fails in every memory slot>The other gets me through the BIOS but fails under load. Can't get through installing Windows without page faults, memory dumps, or other general failures. An alternate stick proves it's the memory and not the system. NOT advised.

We built a fairly nice machine running these cards with intel core 2 2.33 cpu 4g cashe i suggest if your running any quad cpu run 8 gigs or higher on 64 bit vista or simply buy better cards at higher memory as these become unstable running big programs they work great if your only biz with your machine is becoming a net surf junky.

Any time you go from 256 mb to 1 gig you're going to see a performance boost. I did. Boot up was still slow. I don't know why that is but I don't blame the RAM. Anyhow, ram is ram and this has the lowest price w/ shipping online and it's from a company I trust. I made a slow computer tolerable for under $50.

Using them in an 18 month old gaming PC raised my Windows Vista performance index from 5.1 (limited by RAM speed) to 5.3 (limited by CPU- RAM performance is now 5.5). No issues with installation, auto detected just fine.In game performance it raised World of Warcraft from 25 fps (1920x1080) in Dalaran up to 35-40 fps. Raiding (lots of aoe graphics) went from 40-45 fps in Naxxramas to 55-60fps.Well worth the cost after rebate.

I will probably be stuck with 2 Corsair RAM after these two bad RAM are replaced and returned to me, but if I had a choice I would not get them again, even though they do look cool.I wouldn't mind if one, or even both RAMs were DOA, but the situation is worse. The RAM comes with two metal panels on each side for grip (and possibly cooling). Not only was one RAM bad (memtest spotted that one) but the other RAM broke when pulled out of the motherboard. One of the two metal panels just snapped off. It was shocking given how these are supposed to be above average RAM.I could get some heat sink thermal compound and put it back on but I decided not too because the other bad RAM must go back anyway.Corsair gets good reviews but this is far from solid, stable RAM. Poor quality control coupled with hardware that part in your hand didn't bold well for me. I ended up going down to the local computer store and buying a set of average common looking 2GB 800 mhz RAM, for less, which worked. Before Corsair can sell their image as a leading brand name they need to up quality control and provide working hardware first, then much better robustness and after that we can talk cool looks.When I do get the RAM back my system will be 4 GB of memory in total but this RAM experience set me back. I can't comment on performance, as I would have liked to, but to be honest it isn't all about the performance and as you can see not even getting things off the ground result in bad reviews. I will keep you updated on what happens next.*Update 16th July 2008*I went through 5 sticks in total to get 2 working ones. That is a 60% failure rate. I would just spend on regular RAM in the future and forget about splashing out for fancy RAM.

Corsair is always known for it's quality products and that's why I buy them. I own their PSU which is awesome and I also own this RAM which is rock solid stable. I have my E6300 at a 62% overclock and it is perfectly stable. Passed Prime95/Intel Burn-in tests. Also you can't beat the price with the mail-in rebate. I will always recommend Corsair products. Never had any fail on me.

Bought this ram here, service was fast and efficient. My pc is a custom built,with an intel 8400 core 2 duo cpu, with the dg35ec mobo, running xp home, if anyone cares. THis ram is 1.8 v which is very important according to the intel service guy I contacted on the phone. This ram installed easy, booted up no prob, and the machine runs like a raped ape! Huge difference. Now lets see if the rebate goes thru and I get paid.

The second problem was the time to put 4 DIMMs 2gb I had to manually change the voltage in my BIOS to the reports 1.9 as the default is 1.85 which caused me not to recognize me .. The third was warming but a fan OZ Ocz Xtc Memory Cooler buy through Amazon and my machine works very well .... It does not get as disadvantages but as points to consider when purchasing these reports, but the performance is excellent ...

I concur with Nima, this RAM is terrible for overclocking. Any attempt to do so, even very little, resulted in fatal system crashes, and the memory diagnostics tool in Vista always said hardware failure, until the FSB was brought to default again (I have a P5E-VM HDMI board with the E8400 Wolfdale processor). I haven't had other problems with it but I've only been using it for a week. It's not worth the approximately $25 (after rebates of course), even if you're looking for cheap RAM. Corsair needs to stop using crap ingredients in their hardware. My next RAM will be made by another company.

4GB of ram for under $[...] after mail in rebate is too good to pass up. I just put together a new HTPC last night using these and am well pleased. Left Memtest running all night and there were no errors. DOA sticks of ram should not influence your buying decision. I have purchased DOA sticks of Corsair, Kingston, and Crucial ram over the years...when a working replacement arrives, it does the job just fine. You will most likely replace your system before a non overclocked, working stick of ram craps out on you. Bottom line, if you are not looking to overclock, this ram is a steal at the moment! You can use the money saved from not buying expensive overclockable ram to purchase a faster processor :)
