I bought this Ram for an bit older Optiplex 740 with an AMD x2 CPU.I also run it with 2 of the 512MB previously used and running Win 7 64bit with 3GB works well.Works great, love Corsair

It's RAM, and it works. I bought it for my mom's PC and it performs a little better now. Corsair is always a good bet. I've always like the XMS sticks because they're free of the huge heat sinks and perform as expected.

I built my desktop 4 years ago and kept promising myself to add another 2 GB of memory to it. I bought an additional 2 GB of the same type of memory thinking that the product had served me well for years and to stick with it. Easy to install but did have to play a little with the configuration to get the machine to boot up.

I hate to give 2 star but the two star is only related to my sony computer because I found out that PNY works but NOT this corsair brand. We thought that It ship defected but tried it on another computer and it work fine, but not for this sony. so we end up returning it and bought a PNY brand.

I ordered these sticks to upgrade an existing machine I built a few years ago based on an ASUS P5N32-SLI motherboard. It had 2 gigs of RAM. I ordered these 2 new sticks only after matching the specs to my older RAM - Same exact specs, same manufacturer.I added the RAM and started the machine - Windows Vista would not load. I had 2 OSs on this machine so I tried loading the other OS - Windows XP. No luck. I removed the new RAM and to my horror, both OSs still would not load. Turns out the boot info and the registry were corrupted on both OSs by the combination of the new and old RAM modules. I tested the 4 gigs together with Memtest and there were over 50,000 errors. I then tested the two new 1 gig sticks alone and there were no errors. Tested my old RAM - no errors. Even with the same specs, these sticks were not compatable with the older sticks.Both sets of sticks actually had a slightly different latency than the manufacturer stated. I contacted Corsair and they said they don't recommend upgrading using old RAM at all, even ones that match exactly. I now have to reinstall both OSs and reinstall all the programs. At least the HDs were not damaged so I didn't loose any data.Bottom line: If you want to upgrade RAM, toss your old RAM and use only new matched sticks to be safe... unless you don't mind reinstalling everything.

Tried to expand memory with the same memory that came with my computer to maximize compatibility,Had a set that didn't work, then sent those back. Got a replacement which blew out one of the memory slots.All around a bad experience.

I order this memory kit, the seller expected delivery date was 5 day after they make the shipment, I was surprised because my package arrives only in two days, product was easy to install and is working perfectly no issues at all, I am really happy with my purchasing.

The item was exactly as described on the site. We received the product, removed the old memory sticks and put these in, fired up the computer, and away we went. Work great first time and has been working great the past few weeks. The extra memory has helped us with sites we had issues on before so it has definitely helped us out.

My windows xp OS was using 2 GB RAM, I noticed my memory usage was over 90% when I had few programs open, this was causing my graphic to be lagging. So, I added 2 GB more RAM and it solved the problem.

I purchased this RAM memory to replace the small amount of memory that came standard with my older computer (2007). What an improvement! It instantly stopped my computer from freezing and made everything work faster. I can now have multiple programs open with no noticeable slowing. It works perfectly and was very easy to change.

I have an Alienware Area 51 desktop computer which was really sluggish due to the minimal amount of ram that I had installed. I had been looking to beef up my ram for some time and the Corsair 2 GB ValueSelect had a very appealing price tag. Installation was a snap and my system initially booted up and ran. As soon as I attempted to go online, my system crashed, went to the 'blue screen of death' and dumped all memory. I tried repositioning memory modules to no avail. Removing the newly installed memory returned my computer to normal. Amazon was great about the return. I printed off a return label and had no issues returning the memory for a quick refund. I have since added 2 GB of PNY memory with no issues yet. (I still have my original packaging though!) My computer is up and running faster than ever now...

I had 4Gb of ram for my windows 7 64bit Ultimate, OCZ but they don't make them anymore so I ended up buyin 8 GB of Corsair DHX and it runs wonderfully. I have a a older rig EVGA 680i SLI with 2 Gforce 8800 GTX SLI mode. I can run all my games on very high settings and never skips a beat. I plan to do a major upgrade for a new rig soon. These ram modules are great! I would definitely buy them again if I needed. but the max my motherboard can run is 8Gb. They are very stable, and you could OC them is you wanted to. (I keep mine at stock speed) I can run Battlefield 3, MW3 at high settings. However, I can't see all the eye candy due to my videocards are DirectX 10 and most new titles are DirectX 11 So I need to total overhaul. :)

Bought to triple my aging Dell's memory, from 1 GB to 3 GB.Note that this is DDR2 SDRAM not the modern DD3 SDRAM, so it is for older computers.Fit right in perfectly in the slot and the computer recognized it right away when it booted up.Now my Dell is way faster in startup/shutdown/word processing while on the internet.Only gripe I have is the price. Why is DDR2 SDRAM 20-30% more expensive than DDR3 SDRAM. That's why it's 4 stars and not 5.

This RAM is exactly what you pay for... it's not the "top of the line" but it is not "garbage" either... it is the bargain version of corsair RAM. I used it to upgrade an old PC I bought for $40 on c-list... so far it works great, and I feel like i got a good deal.

As already mentioned by another reviewer, this RAM is NOT CAS 2.5, but CAS 3 (3-3-3-8 according to SPD). Running on my electronics lab computer, an Opteron 185 w/2GB Geil RAM and a Sapphire Radeon 3850 AGP, the RAM worked fine for less than 24 hours before it started causing lockups, requiring a hard reset. Since the RAM that was already in there has relaxed timings compared to this RAM (3-4-4-8), the only excuse for this failure is poor quality control at Corsair.After the failures, I ran these through a series of Memtest86+ runs, and both failed at their rated timings in less than 20 minutes.I've purchased Corsair RAM 3 times now. The first RAM is still going strong, but the last two sets were both defective. Corsair will never again see a dollar from me.

I installed these in my Dell XPS 720 tower. It maxes out at 8GB of RAM running Windows 7. The motherboard cannot take anymore, since it was developed for DDR2 capabilities mainly. I installed the new modules, the BIOS picked up the new DIMMS, continued the boot up process and once in Windows 7, I saw all 8Gigs of RAM with no issues. Very happy with the modules, also they look cool with the heatsink casing.

I have a fairly old Dell 530 desktop that I bought this for. I used crucial.com's scanner to determine exactly what I needed and ordered based on those specs. I have recently upgraded to a new(to me) video card and upgraded my processor last year to a Core 2 Duo 3ghz. My existing ram was 2 512 units.I have to say that this installation has made a huge improvement in performance for me. I went from playing a game on low settings to ultra and improved load times tremendously. Overall the ram has increased my general computing speed and in the short time I've had it there have been no glitches to speak of.If you have a gig or less of ram then I would recommend this to all. For 30$ value ram I am very satisfied with this purchase.1 year update: This continues to perform flawlessly. No hangups or blue screens etc. I have not noticed a single issue since installation. Highly recommended.

I purchased this ram to help breath some extra life into a friend's older Dell system that only came with 512MB or ram and not for purposes of overclocking or trying to push the envelope. So far, for the price, it has more than exceeded my expectations. The system is running without issue and definitely better than before. That said, this is not a cure all, but if you're looking to stretch the life out of a computer than maybe you only use to browse the internet or do some word processing, this is a great item to look at. At the time of purchase, this seemed to be in the sweet spot for price vs quality.

This purchase is for my wife's Dell Inspiron 530 desktop computer. It has 1G system memory only. It is getting slower and slower. Adding additional system memory is probably the most easiest way to speed up an old PC. The installation is pretty straight forwards. Just plug in the 2 1-GB SDRAM module into the existing two open slots (Dell Inspiron 530 has 4 memory slots on the mother board). Now the PC has 3GB system ram and it does seem to open application faster now. I am happy :-)

This product is not my first purchase of Corsair RAM nor will it be the last. Good price for a solid kit that performs as advertised. I've been running Corsair XMS in systems for years and have yet to have a module from this manufacturer fail on me. Amazon shipped it quickly and packaged it well. Very pleased overall.

Purchased the 2GB dual channel kit to get a new gaming computer off the ground, while saving up for higher quality/quantity sticks and a new video card. These have been rock-stable, and can take a small bit of overclock (less than 20%). Access times and data transfer speeds are nothing to write home about, but then again, I picked these up for $25 (currently $30 at the time of writing.)If one is looking to set up a low cost build it yourself system, or looking to bump up the memory in an older system, I would definitely recommend these modules.Detected correctly on old DFI board, though only at half frequency (1:1). A quick change to 1:2 in the BIOS remedies that.

I bought these for a customer's Dell PowerEdge 860 server, and they did not work in the machine even though it takes PC2-5300 DDR2 RAM. The server won't boot and throws a beep and LED code during POST which indicates a memory error.I do not know whether the problem is with these particular DIMMs, this model of DIMM, or the server itself. I will be returning these to Amazon and replacing them with memory from Crucial at the customer's request.

I have ordered Corsair memory in the past and never had a problem. Just be sure you check your system requirements well before you place your order. DDR2 memory tends to be less expensive than legacy DDR, but the density (High or Low) needs to watched closely. You can never go wrong with Low density for compatibility, but why pay for Low when a less expensive High will do the job equally as well.

Listed Timing: 2.5-3-3-8Shipped Timing: 3.0-3-3-8The product shipped actually has CAS3, not CAS2.5 at 200Mhz, its "native" mode (it does support CAS2.5 at 166Mhz in a "fallback" mode). RAM timing is crucial for overall system performance and stability, especially when adding RAM to a system: the system will use lower RAM bus/access speeds in order to achieve stability.This is the second RAM product I ordered from Amazon in a week's time where the shipped product timing did not match the listed product timing, and is in fact higher/slower. Whether this is the fault of Corsair improperly informing Amazon, or Amazon not qualifying/verifying their RAM remains to be seen, and ultimately it is Amazon's responsibility to address, considering implications of false advertising/deceptive practices.

I only bought this to add to my existing Corsair XMS2 2gb DDR2 to make 6gb. I really find its a bit too expensive for a DDR2 800mhz. Too bad that I have to buy this online because the local pc shops are selling mostly DDR3 modules and the only DDR2 modules they have are Kingston's.On the bright side, Corsair XMS2 is always the best choice for memory because of its performance. I wasn't happy with Kingston's performance before but now I am happy to be using Corsair, especially the XMS2.

I bought this ram from AMAZON because I had always had good luck with their products in the past. Not this time !! One of the ram chips has already gave out in less than a year. I purchased in March of 2011. Ram gave out in January of 2012.Needless to say I will have to give a lot of thought as to if I will buy another product of this type from AMAZON ever again. My advice is do not buy this product !!! Well at least one ram chip is still good!!
