This camera is excellent for the price. Gives you plenty of choices in controls for a point-and-shoot, and the color is exceptional. It takes pix quickly and it is easy to learn. Simple and quite effective. I would buy it compared to other higher-end point-and-shoots for the features alone, and, compounded with the price, it's just the best in its range.

We bought the Canon 720 IS camera with underwater housing and accessory kit, and we could not be more pleased. It takes crystal clear pictures, and is super easy to use. Gorgeous clear bright shots. We bought the housing as well and used it on a recent scuba diving trip to Cozumel, MX. We did not buy the strobe, and found we really did not need it for day diving. The pictures were wonderful. Great camera! Highly recommended.

Canon PowerShot A720IS 8MP Digital Camera with 6x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom This is a great camera for taking all kinds of snap and shoot pictures. It has a great size. Easy to carry and once you read the manual, is great for all those pictures you take on vacation. I also have a Nikon D80 which has its place in the picture taking agenda. Enjoy this camera.

I did a ton of research and wanted a semi-compact digital with a good zoom for catching action shots of my kids at sporting events. Needed as much automatic as could get, but loved the option of learning more and the flexibility of being able to manually control some settings. I am very pleased with this camera! Great Canon quality, fantastic price, durable and easy to use.

It's versatile, good zoom range, handier and smaller than I thought. Noise is pretty bad after 100 ISO but I'm pleasantly surprised by it's crispy images. Best in the Daylight. Great snapshot maker with quasi manual controls you can play with.

I love this camera for ease of use and picture quality. However, I have tried numerous times (and yes, I have read the directions) to set the date/time and it doesn't work. So, every time I turn the camera on, it prompts me to set the date/time. I do as it says in the manual but it never 'sets' it and I have to keep repeating it EVERY time! This is very frustrating and has even led me to want to return the camera.
Also, the battery life when you use the display mode, is almost zip -- it lasts maybe 30 minutes - so, you're forced to look through the view-finder unless you want to keep replacing the AA batteries every other hour! ARGH!!!
Other than those two minor/major annoyances, I love the camera!

Nice little camera. Takes nice pictures. The refresh time after taking a picture can be slow. It burns through batteries pretty quick. It can take a second or two to take the picture after pressing the shutter button. With that, the moment can be lost when it actually shoots.
I shoot with a Canon Digital SLR and got tiered of lugging large camera around for family gatherings or just to take a few shots. This camera definitley does the job. Small size, fits right in a coat pocket or pants pockets easily, its very light.

Perfect for a travel size or to drag around for a day. Easy to use and takes great shots. At a concert, when back from the stage is doesn't have enough zoom, but it's not trying to be a Nikon either. A good all around purse size camera.

I've worked as a professional photographer for 9 years. I retired from that profession 10 years ago and moved into IS Management. My eyes just can't focus the way they used to. This camera has all the versatility of my Leica m-3 (all manual) but I can use a whole collection of focusing routines as well as exposure tricks. The image processor and image stabilizer are quite good. The color is natural. The technology is fantastic. I just wish the shell was made of metal and more lenses were available. I've got 3 kids in college, so our budget is tight. At this price. the only better deal will be its Cannon successor.

I am enjoying the Canon a720is camera. I was looking for a camera that a person without a lot of experience could use. I also wanted image stabilization and some features that I could learn to use. I wish the shutter speed was a little faster. It is still hard for me to capture the smiles of little kids. Overall it is a great camera. The zoom is a feature that I am learning to apprectate.

This is my second canon digital camera. You can't go wrong with a Canon- great lens great design and great features. I got this camera since I wanted a camera with a little better zoom than the normal 3X. This is 6 times and the only thing I wish this camera had was still a little better zoom at the same size. I love that it takes regular batteries - I use the rechargables. It also uses a the most common media which is an SD card. It has manual controls that I use a lot and the pictures are crisp and clear thanks to the great canon lens. The screen is large enough and clear. In addition its light weight and easy to handle. The second only thing I would change about this if it was slightly smaller. Overall it's a fantastic camera and easy to use would not buy anything other than a canon camera.

I purchased the Canon A720is for my wife's parents. It met all the criteria... Easy to use, good zoom, price.
The zoom is one of the more powerful of the cameras in it's class. The Stablizer is a great feature. It uses AA as well as rechargeable batteries. The camera/playback switch is a nice feature. It's easy/straightforward, you don't have to spin the mode selector... then spin it back to wherever it may have been. Shutter lag also seems to be better than many in it's class. It's only been a few weeks. No pictures have been downloaded yet, but they were using it within minutes of opening the box. Had to, of course buy a larger SD card, the 16MB card that comes with the camera is all but useless. Don't know why they don't just put a 1GB card in the camera. Would recommend.

Very pleased with this camera after several weeks and several hundred pictures. The only reservation I have is the "system pause" after taking a picture. This small characteristic can be bothersome at times. Battery usage is low and with a 4-gig card you can shoot pics all day without having to transfer. Great camera which I would recommend to anyone, even for semi-pro use with the good selction of manual features.

We moved up to this camera from the Canon A520 and are very pleased with the picture quality and the ease of operating. Just returned from a 14 day Alaskan cruise with lots of great pictures.

I recently bought a Canon A590is camera and wanted a case in which to store it. The DCC-80 was the one recommended. I am not disapointed. The DCC-80 is a quality case which fits the A590is nicely. The case is fitted with two pockets in which to store extra batteries and memory cards. A nice touch is that the case comes supplied with two straps - a long, shoulder strap and a smaller hand strap. Very useful.

Ordered this item on a Friday lunchtime with some other bits and selected 'Super Saver Delivery'. Received it by 9am the next day! Amazing service from Amazon.
The product itself is a great fit for the A570IS, fitting the camera snugly as you would expect and therefore provided a good standard of protection. There is space on the inside of the lid for memory cards and enough room in the front pocket for AA batteries. What more could you want?
Compared this in a shop to a LowePro Apex alternative and found it a better fit and only a couple of quid more for the official item. Well worth the extra outlay.

I bought this camera to replace an aging Powershot A40 that I bought several years ago. I wanted something easy to use, somewhat small, good picture quality and some macro capability. This camera had it all. The macro mode has been unbelievable. It is able to focus and shoot a lot closer than I will ever need and still gets really good quality.

Nice camera, easy to use, with great resolution and useful zoom in a small package. More than 2-second delay between shots, however, is a nuisance and often results in missing a good photo.

This is my first digital camera and I love it. Having never owned a digital camera before I wanted to make sure I could get something easy enough to use. But, sometimes I like to play with pics and learn new stuff. This camera allows me to do both. I havent figured out all the bells and whistles to this comfortable feeling camera but I can use it to take all the basic stuff. The lack of knowledge isnt due to difficulty of product but my lack of time. The quality of photo that pulls up on my computer is very good. However, I cant verify as of yet the quaility of printed photos as I havent had any printed yet. I expect that they will be very good.

I've had the camera about two weeks and I'm quite happy with the pictures it takes. I've also taken a film clip which looks great. I have not yet explored the plethora of modes and options on the camera. The pictures are quite detailed and I'll attach on to the review if possible.
