Arrived perfectly on time. For the price I paid ($200), this monitor is a DEAL. I love it. Worked strait out of the box. Hooked up all the proper wires, turned it on, and my computer perfectly adapted. Buy this monitor!

I bought this monitor about 2 months ago and I have to say that I'am quite pleased with it. The colors on it look great after calibration. The monitor has a fast response time and low input lag. The design is aesthetically pleasing, though it has a somewhat cheap feeling to it. The monitor has 1 VGA, 1 DVI, a headphone jack (Headphone jack only works with HDMI) and an HDMI input. Out of the box it includes all the cables necessary for connecting your equipment except an HDMI cable. I mainly use the monitor with my Xbox 360 via HDMI and it looks great. I originally thought that 24" was going to be too big, but it fits perfectly on my desk with just barely enough room to spare with the shelf above the monitor. The monitor also comes with a 3 year warranty from Asus so I have peace of mind about my purchase. I highly recommend the Asus VS248H-P and will definitely continue shopping with Amazon.Since the monitor doesn't come with an HDMI cable here are some below.AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable (6.5 Feet/2.0 Meters) - Supports Ethernet, 3D, and Audio Return [Newest Standard]Mediabridge Ultra Series - High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet - (6 Feet) - Category 2 Certified - Supports 3D & Audio Return Channel [Latest HDMI Version Available]I personally bought my HDMI cable from Monoprice. Very happy with my purchase and I don't think I could have bought a better monitor than this one for the price I paid back in October 2011.

I ordered this monitor on 1/08 and recieved it on 1/11. when i first got the package, there were many holes and tears in the cardboard box. when i got it out, it worked for about 4 hours, then when you would boot up the monitor, it would show the screen for around 2 seconds, then fade to black. going to send it back today, and get a refund.

I absolutely love this monitor! The response time is great, and the visual is awesome. It's a good size, and is very easy to set up. I use it for gaming, so I needed to also get an audio adapter for audio with Turtle Beaches. Other than that, it works great, and I'm a very happy customer.

I was used to a 4x3 20 inch monitor, and did not expect to like the 16x9 ratio as well, but I like it better. It is very convenient to view 2 windows side-by-side. The speakers are worthless, but I didn't buy a computer monitor for speakers. The picture quality seems very good, although the colors might need some adjustment.

Good for the money. Mine has one dead pixel, its bright one not a dark one. Works well for games and basics. The stand is a little wobbly.

just got this today real high quality im playin only on vga tho i have to wait for my dvi converter so i can get the full hd quality but it still looks pretty good no lag no ghost anybody who wants a pc for anything u need get this asus brand even this if u don't wanna spend to much and still get good results

Monitor was deffective upon arrival. Large dark area in bottom right quadrant. Left running for 1 hour, no change. Swapped cables multiple times and tried on different PC, no change. Returned, not replaced.

This is a WONDERFUL monitor for the price of course it is not without its faults. the stand is slightly wobly but nothing to be of concern. the picture is great. the style is nice.

Every pixel is working together in gaming harmony. Did I need the model with the 2 ms response time? No idea, honestly, but I'm extremely pleased with this monitor.

I've only had it for a week, but, so far - so good. I work in graphic animation and simply needed a larger screen. It's not the best by comparison to what is out there, but, it absolutely performs well enough for the nature of my work.

First monitor received had several dead pixels. The replacement has unfortunately one dead pixel but it is in the corner and less obvious.The monitor stand is fairly simple only tilts forward and back. It is not too sturdy and shakes easily if for example, you bump the desk. The default settings for color on this monitor is atrocious. The "splendid" options that are featured are practically useless. Most of them turn the colors worse or washed out. After 30 minutes of fiddling around with all the multiple settings, was able to get color to a decent level that is recognizable but it still is not good. Tried to call Asus support to fix colors but they were useless. Using the OSD controls are a pain in the butt also. The buttons are awkward to use. If this monitor had better colors, I would rate it 4 stars. So overall for the price, it is a decent quality monitor. Nothing special but expect to spend some time trying to adjust the colors if you get this model.

After searching almost exclusively for an LED monitor, buying a highly rated Acer, and then promptly returning it... I found this Gem. Less than $150 after mail-in rebate with every feature I needed, I was sold!My motherboards have always been Asus, but the VH236H is the first Asus made monitor I have purchased and let me tell you, whether it be monitor or motherboard, Asus makes a quality product.The 2ms response time is perfect for movies and gaming, the blacks are black and not grey like the LED I returned, and the colors were accurate out of the box. Trust me, after going through the color calibration on the LED a few rounds, one for a movie setting, another for gaming, etc, etc this is a kinda big deal.Now for the bad: there are 2 reasons I gave this monitor 4 stars and not 5.First reason is the that the front buttons and on screen options are not the most user friendly. They are not insurmountable and thankfully you will not need to use them all the time, however, they are definitely not great.The second reason is the bleed through at the very top of the monitor. The LED Acer I purchased prior to this monitor had much more bleed through, and in each corner of the display, so in comparison the small amount that the VH236H has isolated to the top is not terrible.Folks, I know LED is a newer technology, but when you can get the VH236H for around the same price as a low-end 23inch LED, aren't the quality and features of the product worth more than benefits that LED offers?While LEDs like to brag about their low power consumption, LCDs really are not power hogs either. CNET calculated the average operating cost of the VH236H monitor to be $13.60 a year, compare this with the $8.94 of the 23inch LED HP x2301 and you are talking a difference of all of 39cents per month.All in all the VH236H is a great product for a great price, with only a few minor flaws to keep it from being a 5/5.

This is a very good monitor, I had to mess with the colors a bit but once I got it all setup I love it. The monitor does have ghosting but the fix is really really simple. Just go into the options and set the "Trace free" to 60 and it fixes it. Although its not a 120hz monitor I still like it.

Only four stars because of poor instructions and lack of options for controlling the display. I was not able to connect to get the HDMI connection to work properly because the image can not be properly centered . It may be the video card's fault.The DVI connection worked perfectly, the image is clear, crisp and the colors are amazing. No dead pixels, the sound is decent.I will recommend this product.

I have 3 of these and I don't have any cons. I like how they look and i would not buy anything else. I just sold 3 other units that were of different name brand and didn't care for the adjustments that had to be made. Asus did a great job with this one!

I ordered this for my desk to be a primary monitor for my Xbox and an extended display for my laptop. First of all there is no ghosting but the dynamic contrast is kind of annoying. Some glare from windows but is best used in a darker room. Buy it now

The monitor has great color and brightness! My only compaints are with the limited range of motion and the lack of USB's. These are all items I have been fine without, but I have occasionally wished for these.

Big is the subject of this monitor. After I ordered it I was concerned that Asus had discontinued it. Frankly I dont know why they did as it performs beautifully. Contrast and resolution is terrific.

Absolutely love this monitor, no lag whatsoever, great for gaming.If you're worried about it being too old, don't be disturbed by that. This monitor is used in MLG gaming events too.Couldn't ask for a better monitor.

Excellent purchase for the price. Very easy to configure. I would highly recommend this product to anyone in need of a new monitor. This was purchased for my Xbox 360, no compatibility issues have been noted.

The monitor is great. The screen is bright and the colors appear to be true. The only downside to the monitor is the speakers, they are terrible, even for built in speakers. Don't count on using them, even as a temporary measure.

No issues so far. Monitor is nice looking and has a great picture. The preset modes are terrific. No dead pixels after a few weeks. The menu system is a little non-intuituve but I figured it out after a little playing around.

I purchased this monitor in order to get a better audio-vidual from my laptop at home. Connected to my laptop, the monitor gave me spectacular images. The unit is supposed to have integrated speakers. However, when the audio is connected to that of the laptop, the system became muted. Even the laptop's sound was blocked! I went back and forth online many many times with technical helper of the manufacturer. Her final verdict: probably hardware problem!

I love the extra wide aspect ratio. This monitor was almost too bright; i.e. in Windows the "folder" icons in Windows Explorer are simply too bright, to the point of being glaring and distracting. I toned it down and now everything is just gorgeous.

I needed to replace my aging and dimming 19" CRT monitor of 10 years old. I found this one to do just that. A 17" LCD flat panel is just abt. the same screen display area as a 19" CRT. I've looked at larger screens and the distance I sit from the monitor, ABT. 15", makes this just fine. The 1280 X 1024 resolution is as close as I need to get to 1080. This monitor is bright, has excelent contrast and bright colors. It is easy to adjust and I love the presets for different modes. It has speakers but I don't use them, so no comment on them. I don't like wide screen (the pictures look squashed, circles not round) All around, great price, great warranty, what's not to like.

I have a ultrahsharp u2410 monitor from dell ($600) that I bought few years back. I needed a spare monitor to watch text chat on another screen but something with speakers and hdmi. This serves the purpose. I am not very happy with display. I can see lines when I dim the brightness and contrast. But the screen size is what I was looking for and I am happy with that.Question: I use DVI port and the speakers don't work. Do I need to connect the audio cables for that to work? Speakers only work when I use HDMI cable.

I ordered 3 of these monitors for my new office to be wall mounted and work with both a MacBook Pro (Early 2011) and a PC. The screen resolution is perfect and the picture quality is very clear. I'm considering ordering a 4th monitor so that I can have two monitors with my PC and two with my Mac but I will wait until the monitors go back on to Amazon Prime so that I get the free shipping. If you're looking for a great, thin, minimalistic LED monitor, this is the option for you.

I picked up this monitor to go with my macbook pro. I edit video and needed another display that wasn't as expensive as the Apple Cinema Display. Obviously this is significantly less, so I wasn't expecting anything mind blowing. Well, the color is great. The blacks are dark. The resolution is full HD. It works great with my 2011 macbook pro and is well worth the price! The only negative is the stand is a little wobbly, but I'll live with it for the price. Definitely consider it
