Heads up: This is for a more than average person who understands tvs / monitorsPROS: 1. This Monitor with its 2ms response time gtg which in simple terms is how fast the monitor responses to the motionsor actions your doing through either xbox in my case or pc gaming or ps3 which is just about as fast as you can get.The Benifit for this response time is your reaction time speeds up. 2. The picture quality is amazing 20million to 1 contrast with full 1080p since i use this monitor for my xbox with a hdmi cordthe picture quality is amazing 3. The design of the monitor yes not a ultra thin monitor so i guess it could be a con but the gloss black finish and the simple design is my personal preferance plus with the performance this monitor gives you for gaming who cares how thin it is. 4. This monitor is meant for gaming if you are looking for just a computer monitor yes for the price this monitor is amazing but even though it is from 2010 this monitor is still modern.Cons : These cons are small but nit picky things i didnt like 1. the stand easy assembly but it snaps/clicks onto the monitor it is sturdy but still does not seem very durable. 2. Like i said before it is not a ultra thin monitor its about 2-3in the screen depth with the stand looking at about 8 inches in depth. 3. thwe buttons are a possitive click when you hit them but the lableing on them and sometimes the difficulty of pushing them can be annoying. 4. The screen tilt is very small amount. 5. wish it had 2 hdmi not just 1.Overall: Overall yes i would recommend this monitor to a friend it is a older monitor but for the price and the features you cant beat iti love this monitor for gaming from going from a 37inch 6 year old plasma tv to this monitor is a noticable diffrence. great picture quality amazing response time and refresh rate for gaming overall a great monitor for the price and gaming. if your a gamer looking for a monitor there is a reason why so many people buy this one cheap and its a good value.

I have a few friends with 1080p monitors ranging from 21" to 24". This monitor is one of the best choices both in terms of color and physical design. I previously own 23" Samsung PX2370 which broke after 8 months. It was just my unit. One of my friends also has PX2370 for over a year with no problem. I personally think PX2370 has better colors than this monitor. But it could also be that my eyes haven't adjusted well to this monitor yet. I have been researching for a 23" or 24" 1080p monitors and I'm not yet disappointed with this monitor. I cannot use a desk mount with PX2370 which is the primary reason I'm going for ASUS. I'm going to get a desk mount so the wobble stand is no problem for me. The amazon pictures made this monitor really thick. I found some other pictures online and this is actually very slim. Just slightly thicker than PX2370.PROS:- Very solid quality build.- Slim profile (not as slim as Samsung PX2370 but this monitor has power supply built in)- comes with VESA mount- Control buttons are flushed with the surface unlike previous models- You can lift the monitor from the air vent slot which feels really sturdy- Rapid replacement warranty (I'm not sure how useful it will be when my monitor does break but it's not so pleasant to have no monitors around as my Samsung broke.)CONS:- OK stand which wobble if your desk vibrate but I don't see why that could be a problem- There are lots of USELESS options to adjust the color (If there were 100 possible adjustments, only 5 really works)- Unlike previous models, the cords come in perpendicular to the back surface -- not from the bottom.- 195$ is a little pricy. 150$ would be a great new price.BOTTOM LINE:Get it. You can use a desk mount on this slim monitor. It'll take you a while to achieve correct colors. Physical design is solid. I had a lot of monitors I wanted to buy after my Samsung broke. I saw these monitors being used in IGN pro league Starcraft II tournaments. I bought this monitor right after. There's no text ghosting in this model.I'll update any problems I may come across. I've tested Starcraft II and Diablo 3 on this monitor. They both run great.

Like virtually all monitors, preset settings are largely bad, but if you take the time to manually adjust settings (contrast, etc), this is a steal at under $200 for the PC gaming crowd.For me, 24 inch is about as large as I'd go to hit that sweet spot between size and your ability to take in the entire image without moving your head. This monitor offers little to no ghosting and excellent image quality, and is just about the perfect sub-$200 gaming monitor.I'd pay an extra $5-$10 for a remote control, something I miss from my older (and three times as expensive) Samsung, as I know I can't be the only person who finds the decades old button-driven menu system on monitors borderline rage inducing, but it's hard to knock the monitor for something that's essentially an industry standard (even if it's an utterly stupid standard).If your electric bill isn't an issue (I currently live in HI, where once you factor in taxes and fees, electricity is roughly 45 cents/kwh-over 3 times higher than what I was paying in my last residence; my first electric bill almost put me into a coma), then you can save yourself from the LED "tax" and buy this monitor in the non-LED version, which is under $150-another fantastic steal.

[NOTE: 2 stars for Amazon service - the monitor is a good one] I shopped long and hard for a new monitor to add to my current 22" Viewsonic. I picked the ASUS VE248H 24-Inch Full-HD LED Monitor with Integrated Speakers because of the Asus name brand, and because of the reviews for this specific monitor. Mine arrived with several dead pixels. (I have never had a monitor with dead pixels before, but now I understand why I read so many reviews about them-it is frustrating) I cannot imagine why it happens, either poor inspection at the factory, or something during shipping. Either way, my frustration goes towards both Amazon, and Asus. Upon choosing to return this item that has bad pixels, I was not given the choice to exchange it. The form said it was out of stock... It is not out of stock, though, but the price has increased. Asus, please coordinate with Amazon to help them handle product returns better. If Amazon told me it was out of stock, but allowed me to see some alternate choices, I would likely quickly click one of those choices. Why not give me a choice to pay the slight difference in price for the same item? Retail stores do that most of the time. As it stands, I didn't even go looking for the same monitor from Asus right away, because Amazon said it was out of stock. After 30 minutes of shopping , I went to see the listing of the original Asus monitor to check the specs, and saw it was in stock. Asus, thanks for the Nexus 7 and all the computers you've helped me build over the years - Please help Amazon with their salesmanship and customer service. (You're doing it right) And also, Give us a download from your support site to help us calibrate your monitors. Something like what we use to calibrate our HDTVs, or something like THX uses to calibrate TV's.

I like the size of this screen, I'm a software engineering student so I have to open a lot of windows with code and virtual machines, whit the browser open for research, so it gets annoying to hit alt+tab very often but with a monitor of this size I can have a lot of things on screen.I also play video-games a lot, so I change the mode to a more contrasted and bright look.At first it was too shinny for me but when I got used it doesn't bother me, the colors are a little too washed out so increasing digital vibrance in the desktop settings and lowering gamma works.One thing I dislike is that in standard mode you can't change some settings like saturation or sharpness, while in other modes like game mode you can but then the image looks flat, the shadows in this mode practically disappear as well as in night mode.Trace free is the technology used to increase the response time, you can change it in the screen controls, but at 100% I notice a green trace while scrolling documents, it's distracting and hurts my eyes after a while.And finally an issue I got after a few months of use, in scenery mode the screen lights turn off if the image displayed is too dark, I don't care too much because I don't use that mode but I'm afraid it will happen to the other modes.

This is the first Asus monitor I have purchased so I was a little concerned. The three year warranty and decent reviews were enough to convince me to give it a try and I am glad I did. Out of the box the display was vivid, crisp and met my expectations. The controls are a slight pain to reach but once you get used to their location its not much of an issue. I've had like issues with HP and Dell displays so this wasn't a disappointment. The one downside and its a very small downside is that the on/off LED is mounted on the bottom lip of the monitor. The room where the monitor sits is a bright room so its not easily to see the power led unless you are looking for it. Not a big issue but it would have been nicer if the led was mounted on the face of the monitor for easier viewing. I ran the monitor through some of the simpler video test that you can find on line and the default set up was close to the optimum settings so I didn't have to change a thing. The speakers are on the small side but they work just fine for occasional use. If you are watching movies or a gamer you will want to get better speakers. I would definitely recommend this monitor.

I bought two of these monitors. They seem to work fine, no bad pixels. However, they are too bright. I have turned the brightness on the monitors themselves all the way down as low as it will go, and have turned down the brightness via my video card's (GTX 570) driver software as far as I can without losing significant range and they're still too bright. Having two of these things on my desk can be an eye strain. I have to keep enough ambient light on around the monitors to keep it from straining my eyes. I have also been changing the color schemes in every program I own to darker colors to compensate. With such extreme measures needed to tame the overly-bright screens, trying to roughly color calibrate the monitors was difficult. I have achieved a calibration that I would label as "marginally acceptable," and the only way to improve it would be to put some brightness back in, which is not an option for me.Also, and maybe this is a result of the excessive brightness, the blacks are not really very black. Compared with the monitor I replaced (Samsung 226BW, which was a WSXGA+ type monitor), the blacks on these new monitors look gray. The old monitor was significantly less bright, and it still had range to go even darker if I wanted. Increasing contrast only makes the brights brighter, the darks stay the same. I don't understand why these things are so bright. If you prefer less-than-bright lighting conditions around your computer, I would recommend searching for a different option than these.Other than that they seem to work fine. I'd return them, but I doubt my ability to find any other relatively cheap TN monitors that are capable of going darker. I'll be sure to suck it up and go IPS next time I upgrade monitors.

EDIT: I have upgraded my review from 1 star to 4, because it is an excellent product and the Asus Customer Loyalty Team stepped up, and helped me replace the monitor under the Rapid Exchange program.I couldn't ask for more, but don't expect the same level of customer service from regular Asus Customer Service... It is not the same.--------------------------------------------------------------------Monitor came with a dead pixel... I contacted Asus, they said this monitor is not a "NON-ZBD" which means Asus does not guarantee it won't have a dead pixel upon arrival or use... This sucks because the dead pixel is very noticeable and, in my opinion, much larger in area than just one pixel. I sent a picture of the dark spot to customer service, and they said it was just one...and I completely disagree... The spot is at least a few pixels in a group, and it is in a curved shape. I am so disappointed because my new Asus G75VW laptop also has a similar dark spot. What is up with Asus monitors and dead pixels?

I bought this monitor for my first computer build after using a 15" laptop for several years, and it's great. I use it to watch a lot of movies, Blu Ray, DVD and streaming and playing video games. The screen is large which gives you plenty of space to work on. It's bright, clear, and crisp. Movies and video games look really great. It's pretty good at cutting out glare thanks to the matte screen. The monitor has a lot of great features such as the high dynamic contrast ratio and the low response time but really to see if this is the monitor for you, you have to actually see it. I researched many monitors at this price and went out and looked at them and chose this one. It really is a great monitor for the price and I am very happy with it.Design wise it is sleek looking, glossy black, and thin. The only problem with the design that I see is that the monitor does wobble when you press the buttons which are located on the underside at the bottom right. You can make it wobble if you shake your desk but it doesn't really wobble with just regular everyday use of your computer.There a few problems with the monitor though. I have noticed some slight light bleed around the top edge during some dark scenes in some movies. It's not really bad, just enough to be noticed. Also, there is ghosting, where some objects like the mouse pointer or window frames seem to leave a slight white trail during movement if contrast against some colors. The ghosting doesn't really bother me and it can't even be noticed unless you look for it. And I really am critical of these sorts of things. Ghosting doesn't seem to affect movies or video games and I have only noticed it in the situations described above. These will probably be different for every monitor so you'll have to check your own to see if it's enough to bother you. The monitors picture also seemed quite washed out out of the box but really is great after calibration and setting up a color management profile in Windows.

I bought two of these monitors and have been very happy with them. The price is outstanding and to make it even better, there is a rebate available as well.It has a port for HDMI, VGA, and DVI. I don't use all the ports but it's nice to know that I won't ever need a converter for any of the three.Picture quality is excellent, but the default out of the box configuration is downright awful. It looks *really* bad. However, once I adjusted it, I've been nothing but impressed by the quality of the monitor.The monitor has a built in speaker. However, if you're using it for anything other than listening to talk radio, you're going to hate it. The sound is incredibly faint and tinny. That said, there is an audio out port on the monitor and it supports audio over HDMI. I have an HDMI port plugged into my Macbook Pro and then speakers plugged into the monitor. This setup works great and actually saves me a wire. All I have to plug into my Macbook Pro is the HDMI cable and it gives me the monitor and sound through real speakers as well.I mounted both of my monitors onto a VESA monitor stand. Installation of that was very simple. There are four tiny little screw holes with rubber stoppers inside of them in case you decide to use the included stand.Overall, extremely happy with these two monitors.

Right out of the box the brightness setting of this monitor is set far too high. Not only was it irritating, but it caused bright white ghosting artifacts around any small dark image while it moved across the screen. Turning the brightness down to about 15 (of 100) solved this problem. At the brightness setting of 15 the screen is plenty bright and overall games and text look fabulous (no ghosting is present); texture details are far more pronounced than they were on my old 22" 1680x1050 monitor, which this replaced. My only gripe with this monitor is that within a few hours of use two or three adjacent pixel are now stuck on. Luckily it's only, and barely, noticeable when that area of screen is nearly black so I'll live with it. I bought this monitor at local brick'n'mortar store that honored Amazon's price (Thanks Amazon!), just to get one ASAP and also in case I needed to return/replace it right away.

This monitor was a great price for a great gaming tool. I use it to play f.p.s. games like halo, cod, etc. It literally feels like you are right in the game with no screen lag at all. It was a great improvement for me over my old 32 inch 720p samsung lcd. It has a little bit of a learning curve. I tried to hook it up directly to my 360 without first hooking it up to my computer. It helps if you do this and do a quick color configuration. Once you get used to the buttons you will find a setting you like, The one thing I would like to see that it does not have is an optical digital audio out, it has an analog 3.5mm out which is ok, but eh. For a monitor the speakers are ok. It isn't a TV and I think people forget that. Most people who listen to built in speakers wouldn't even notice the sound quality. Haha. Basically, it is awesome. I would recommend it. The gloss black is nice as long as you have lots of micro fiber clothes for after set up. Overall it is a great deal for a quality Asus product.

I've had this monitor for a few months... it is time to review.The colors are really bad on the monitor. Every month since I've had it, I finally get fed up and spend a half hour trying to calibrate the colors. Most shades of light gray are invisible to me... they just look white. I suspect that is fine for the average person who just browses the web and reads email... but when detail matters, this just isn't acceptable.The speakers are poor and placed on the back of the monitor. I don't know what they were thinking, but poor speakers + poor location = really crappy sound.Also, the menu is set up in a really annoying way. For example, the only way to change the volume is through the menu. That is a small thing, but still should be done better.Overall, I don't know how this thing is ever rated 5 stars. I could see novices rating it 4 stars, but I feel generous giving it 3.

I have both this LED model and the LCD model of the same size from ASUS. First a few words about LCD vs. LED. Both LCD and LED models actually use color LCD technology. The difference between the two is the type of backlight. An LCD model uses fluorescent lighting for the backlight of the LCD, whereas an LED model uses LEDs for the backlight(s) of the LCD. I have my two monitors side by side in a dual monitor configuration. The LED model is noticeably brighter, with whiter whites, and is easier for reading of black on white-background text (which is what I do for about 6 hours a day). When I changed to using the LED model as my primary, I was able to read for longer periods with less eyestrain. I highly recommend this LED model, and will stay with LED backlighting in my future monitor purchases.

Why they include speakers I don't understand but basically don't expect much from the speakers. They work but they're definitely not what your paying for here. As for the monitor itself while I've only had it a day the colors looked great out the box and I didn't have to adjust anything. If I wanted to nit pick I could adjust the colors slightly but that would be more personal preference than an issue with the monitor itself. The Splendid button has its use as it appears I can customize settings for different uses, IE- Movies, Gaming, Night, etc., but the stock settings work rather well. Again I could nit pick personal preference but out the box works as good as I'd hope. It doesn't give off much heat compared to my older LCD monitor, which is nice, and if it holds true about power consumption a nice bonus.I got the item the day before initially told when I ordered so props to Amazon for that. The box had a slight dent in the corner but very minor that it didn't even phase me and once opened the styrofoam packaging wasn't affected at all. I didn't read up on what came in the packaging as I already had cables to hook it up to my computer and was pleasantly surprised when it came with an audio cable along with the typical VGA, DVI and power cables.I could knock it one star for the speakers but again that's not why I purchased this monitor and so far it performs up to snuff for me.Great work ASUS!

I was looking to replace my Dell monitor that was about 3 years old with a larger/wider screen and wanted built in speakers. I purchased this Asus monitor after reading really good reviews. Unfortunately, my old monitor was much better. I use the monitor for business and the text simply isn't very crisp. I've tried playing with the settings on the monitor but can't get it as good as my old monitor. Additionally, the speakers are terrible. My old monitor had the Dell sound bar which attaches to the bottom of the monitor. It is a $35 extra. I've now ordered speakers that will need to take up precious desk space to have audio that works.I won't return the monitor, too much trouble, but for me a disappointing purchase.Update: After adjusting the settings on the monitor I can say that the monitor is pretty good for video and still not very crisp for text. Probably a good choice for games and watching video but I would look elsewhere for office use.

I bought this monitor specifically because it is (was?) the official monitor of the Evolution Fighting Game Tournament held yearly during mid-summer. The reason that organization has chosen this monitor for their event is because of its relatively low input lag time.To clarify, input lag is the amount of time in between the button press of a controller to display on the screen. The response time ratings given by manufacturers does not tell you anything about input lag. The only way to really know is to test the monitor of interest. This is of interest to gamers, fighting game players in particular, because crucial moments can be decided by one's reaction to what's occuring on screen. If I see something happen on screen and press a button to react, the input lag would add precious milliseconds to that input before it displays it's effect; essentially, I would have reacted too late.When I received the monitor, I can't say I was wowed or overwhelmed. It's large. But I've never owned a monitor larger than 19", so the 23" real estate was nice. Out the box and connected to my PC through DVI, the colors looked pretty good. I didn't bother to fiddle with the adjustments The blacks are, of course, not very black; something to expected of an LCD, particularly an LCD that's kind of old. There's also noticeable "bleed" on the top and bottom of the screens from the CFLs used to backlight the display. Not deal-breaking for me, but some people may find this annoying.Also, the monitor cannot be height-adjusted, only tilt-adjusted. The buttons feel quite stiff. Not the pleasurable clicky stiff. It's more of a "will this break if I press it" kind of stiff.Overall, I am satisfied with the monitor. It has very low input lag (as tested by members of the website Shoryuken.com), and I definitely noticed it while playing Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. My combo timings were thrown all out of whack because I had gotten so used to my previous monitor.I approached this monitor from a purely gaming perspective and I am happy with what I got. If one is looking for more features and whatnot, might have to look elsewhere.

The On Screen Display (OSD) of this ASUS model started to appear randomly and I cannot correct this problem. The OSD is a small window that should only appear when you press the Menu button so that you can select the settings for your monitor, like brightness, contrast, etc. Well it looks like the OSD has a mind of its own, and will frequently appear and start recycling through all the setting choices, like a macro gone wild. I googled this problem, and saw that other ASUS owners of this model have the same problem. I have only owned this monitor for less than a year, so it looks like I can request a replacement through ASUS under the warranty. ASUS support responded quickly to my email - kudos for that! I also own and still use a 19 inch Viewsonic monitor for several years that has been reliable, with very decent integrated speakers. Before this OSD problem appeared, I was quite satisfied with the image quality - ghosting that others mentioned in their reviews did not bother me (I did not notice the ghosting.). The sound quality of this ASUS, while not tremendous, was adequate for my needs. Needless to say - very disappointed with this ASUS monitor.

I bought this monitor for a new computer build. The monitor is nice and bright, colors are clean and crisp. I only have 2 gripes, and their both really minor. First - it takes longer than I'd like when switching inputs. not a really big deal, but I'm often switching back and forth between two computers sharing this monitor, and it takes probably 2-3 full seconds for the display to switch.second - as other reviewers have noted, it's somewhat wobbly if you bump your desk. I haven;t noticed an issue while typing as others mentioned, but bumping my desk with my chair or pushing the buttons on the display cause a noticeable shake.The controls are easy to use, the sound quality is good, but a little quiet, and lacking in bass, but I think that's to be expected from speakers built into a computer monitor. I've upgraded to standalone speakers, but I think for average use (non-gaming, not-home-theater) the standard speakers would be just fine

I am currently deployed to Afghanistan and we have a number of these monitors here and I have to say, I became a fan very quickly. For my use, the size is perfect, it stays cool, and even with all the moon dust in the air, these things look great. I give it a quick wipe when I take my shift and we are good to go. The colors are great. I don't do any gaming on it as it is my work computer but it really is a nice display. I primarily use Samsung at home but may have to one these when I get back from deployment. I never use speakers in my monitors so half the time I couldn't even tell you if my monitor had them. That is just because monitor speakers are just notoriously crappy speakers. I can't say how these sound though because I haven't tried them.Bottom line, if you are looking for a nice monitor with bright, vibrant colors, that doesn't crush your wallet, this is a great buy.

I bought this, because with its mail in rebate, it looked like a steal.The first one arrived, I hooked it up, and it was very nice. I started playing a movie off of it, and instantly, a 1.5cm region at the top became washed out from light bleeding through. Figuring by the fact that there was only bleeding at the top, I requested a replacement. Amazon very rapidly replaced it, without issue, however, not only did the replacement have that issue as well, but when displaying an all black console, dark damage lines appeared both vertically and horizontally across the screen.I promptly returned it. Kudos to Amazon for being so good about the replacement and return, and shame on Asus for the quality control. Looking for a new monitor now.

Pros:1920x1080 (1080p)2ms response time23" (great size monitor for PC or Console Gaming)Cons:Per other reviews, I can agree that toggling various settings and the speaker volume is a bit difficult. They aren't lit up either, so it is a bit of a pain to find the buttons in a darker room.-----General observation: Has taken me a few days to play around with the various video options. It has a gaming mode option, but I've found that it is a little too bright for PC gaming. It also doesn't automatically recognize the input, such as HDMI, so you just need to use the toggle input button to find the PC/console.Great gaming monitor for the price. I was looking for 1080p, 2ms response time and 1920x1080. I'm satisfied.

I really love this monitor a lot.I bought 2 for my girlfriend who wanted a similar PC setup as mine.I was actually incredibly jealous of them when she got them, and if it wasn't a wasteful idea to buy 2 of them for myself, I TOTALLY WOULD. (I already have two 24" LED monitors at the moment, but not as good as these...)The back has this amazing handle like groove, the cables come from BEHIND the monitor instead of under it -- which I found to always be a GIANT pain to insert.The quality is beautiful as well. It makes me feel almost dreamy.Seriously super jealous of the monitors and I wish they were mine. >_>

I bought this display namely because it is supposed to be "Boasting a host of ports including HDMI and DisplayPort". However it does not appear to have a display port at all which was the main reason I went with this one. Since I have not owned any display port devices before I might be getting this wrong but I can not see how that could be. Right now I am sitting here with the wrong cable and had to fall back on my old DVI adapter solution. The ASUS support site it a night mare to navigate: live chat does not load on chrome/mac, the tech support form gives me an illegible error in asian script (on the US site) for the serial number field no matter what I try. This is rather dissapointing so far. Happy to amend this if and when I figure this out. Any help is appreciated.

I ordered 3 of these to build an NVIDIA 2D Surround setup for Sim Racing and Gaming. These looked great right out of the box and I had no dead pixels or issues. The bezels are on the smaller side, so lapping them behind the center monitor works great and the response time is excellent. I found the "Gaming" profile to be a little to bright and cartoon like for my taste, but there are several different settings to choose from. I personally just utilize the standard profile for my purposes. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a solid gaming monitor, or 3.

The initial order I placed arrived with two dead pixels. Amazon sent me a replacement the next day and the return service is really top-notch. However, the replacement also arrived with a dead pixel. I'm going to give it one last try before opting for a refund because aside from the dead pixels, the monitor is great. Yes, the speakers suck, but that's not an issue for me. The picture and colors are great (some tweaking required) and I have noticed no ghosting issues. I would love to have one of these with working pixels!EDIT: Received the third monitor, this time with a "Quality Controlled" sticker on the box. Works great, noticed no ghosting with Skyrim, no dead pixels. I would give this 5 stars if it were not for the fact that the first two monitors were defective and would give it a lower rating because of the clear lack of initial QC (Why must you always hurt me ASUS? tf201 again? Really?) if it was not for the fact that the Amazon Customer Service was so great. No need for a lengthy hassle or time spent without a monitor. Tell them what's wrong and a new one is in the mail the next day.

This is an LCD-LED monitor. It has a backlit LED. But having said that, I really cannot complain about this monitor. It has a good overall display, is mechanically stable and easy on the eyes. It has different modes - such as theater, gaming, night-view, scenery etc, but I honestly haven't found much difference between the modes and the need. For example, I have played games in the 'theater' and 'game' modes but haven't found any big difference - just that the 'game' mode is slightly brighter than the 'theater' - but then my primary use is home-office so I don't really play a lot of games or watch movies much. If you just want a good monitor at a reasonable price, I'd strongly recommend this one.

This mnitor is the size I wanted without being too big for my workstation.I'm not a tech guy so I didn't run any test or bench mark or whatever.I do notice the colors are rich and deep compared to the monitor it replaced.Mainly, I got this monitor for the HDMI input, even though there is only one.It does have (3) different inputs- HDMI, DVI, VGA.Also, the headphone jack works great with my external speakers.I like the controls at the bottom as well, easy to navigate.I'm happy with this monitor.

I buy these monitors purely for their wide base in the stand, it let's me furiously type and game away without so much as a shake from my screen. It took me a couple days of looking around for 24 inch LED with such a wide base, and when I went to get my third monitor for my computer there was no question in my mind what I was going to get... this bad-boy is perfect for me.

I purchased this monitor from a local store in October. I am very pleased with it. I had been a little nervous because of some negative reviews I had read that noted some ghosting and such. I had then heard that this model's quality had been improved so I took a chance. The picture quality is great. It has multiple connectivity options which is a plus. Overall I'd say it is a good product at a fair price when on sale.

I went from a 19" screen to a 24" screen. Let me tell you if you go from not having a widescreen monitor to this you will be happy when you turn this monitor on when you get it. When I turned mine on I was shocked at the screen difference. The quality of the screen is fantastic!! I cant believe how good it is. I will be recommending this screen to my friends.

It is a 60Hz monitor and it looks good with everything i have done on it (battlefield 3, assassin's creed 3, movies). My main reason for taking a star off is that it only includes DVI-D input, i was hoping for a newer display to include dual link DVI and/or Display port. Again not a big deal since i just use HDMI port from GTX 670. Im looking into maybe getting a second one and running two displays. I would recommend this monitor to people looking for an upgrade to their monitor.

The screen is nice. Not to big and not to small. It arrived promptly without damage. The color is vibrant and i liked the fact that it has a 2ms lag which means i will be able to react faster in game play.The only downside is that the monitor came with 1 dead pixel. You cannot return it unless you have atleast four dead pixels. The 1 dead pixel is middle right on the screen. Ive heard other stories about people having 2 or 3 dead pixels. So i guess its good i only have one. I would give this five stars except for the fact that it does indeed have a dead pixel.

Seriously, best monitor. Colors are good, nice and vivid.No dead pixels on ship, and no problems in the time I've had it so far (about 2 months)It is EXTREMELY bright though. Its currently at 20% brightness setting and its still WAY TOO BRIGHT IMO.

First things first, you're not going to get a monitor with the same quality and specs for a cheaper price in fact, at least from my two weeks of research, you will pay more for much less features. I brought this monitor as I am a designer and need dual screens with good features at a good price to say the least. The speakers on the monitor are pretty good not the best for rap music but hey they are still good! The quality of the screen is crisp as soon as I turned the monitor on I was amazed. The best part is no glare and the monitor adjusts to lighting around you which makes it easier on your eyes. If your like me and work in front of the computer for long hours then this will definitely help. Overall I rate this five stars and plan on buying a second monitor once I get a new desk big enough to hold the second monitor.

This monitor came as advertised the picture is great and anything you throw at it looks great. It has only one HDMI input and one DVI and VGA, but it is still great. I would recommend picking up two of these as I have a smaller 22 inch samsung from years ago and they don't match exactly.

Coming from a photographer/gamer standpoint...This monitor blew me away out of the box, but then I edited some photos, and they looked terrible on every other computer I used. As a photo guy who spent a long time trying to get this to the best accuracy possible, I vote go into "standard" mode, the only other adjustment you should make is to set the color temperature to sRGB. This will look pretty bad at first next to all of the other default settings made to give everything "pop", but your eyes will quickly adjust and you'll have a more true-to-life experience, and photos won't look wonky once you transfer them to another computer. Annnd if you want to get more serious, get a monitor calibrator like the Colormunki Display.Other than that, not a bad monitor. The 10,000,000:1 claimed contrast ratio is a lie if you're into accuracy as well - that's only with ASCR on, and if you're doing a photo you don't want your monitor messing with what's on the screen. For the average user watching a movie, it's fine though.For gaming, the blacks aren't that black, and the edges of the screen have uneven luminence. Makes those dark games like Metro 2033 kinda eh.Not bad for the price though, still looks good despite all my nit-picking.

I received this monitor as a Christmas gift and have been using it as an external display for my 14 inch laptop. It was almost a shock at the change in sharpness and picture quality when i changed the resolution to 1920x1080 for the first time.The colors are vibrant and deep, and especially good for gaming. This is really the ultimate 23 inch display for games like starcraft 2 and DOTA 2. I would recommend this product HIGHLY to anyone looking for a display that responds well and looks incredible.

I bought 3 of these monitors and i must say i am impressed. For the price the picture and look of it is beautiful. controls to adjust the screen are a little awkward but isnt a major deal. ASUS makes the best motherboards and now they working on making the best value in monitors as well.

This monitor is great, the only complain I have is that the speakers are worse then on my 2 year old MacBook pro that I run on it. I mean, it shouldn't be that hard to get decent quality speakers into this thing, given its size. That said, I knew that going into it and only got the one with speakers just so I have a sound backup if I ever need, especially since it was the same price as one without speakers in the same size. Couldn't be happier, myself, especially given what I paid.

The display is awesome. We only use it for general computing and online video watching, so I can not comment from a "gamer" point of view. It gives you all the input options (dvi, hdmi, vga), so i have it hooked up to my pc, laptop and cable tv. All the inputs appear to be great. The sound is surprisingly good, especially since the reviews are generally bad on the sound.

I hunted for days for the perfect 24" monitors for my dual monitor setup. I bought two of these over a year ago and they've been amazing. The picture quality is awesome, the setting options are great, and the price (< $200 each) was totally reasonable. It has all of the inputs I needed (HDMI/DVI/audio in [mic]/audio out [speaker], etc.). The one drawback is that the built-in speakers are horrible, much less powerful than my i-Phone 4 speaker. I'm still giving this 5 stars though because most displays don't have built in speakers, I didn't expect to rely on the monitor speakers when I bought the monitors.

I bought this monitor to serve as a second monitor for my computer and use for my xbox. For the average user, the quality is great but I know samsung monitors have better depth in terms of color. But this Asus monitor does the job for both Xbox and computers perfectly. If you use sound, use external speakers as the one built in lacks good sound quality.

A reasonably priced monitor with very good display colors, brightness and the size I was aiming for (needing to replace a square 19" monitor). I found that the setting best for everyday use is sRGB with the others for specific circumstances.

Color is awesome. Images are bright and sharp. Response time is very good with no ghosting. Have played fps, rts, rpg on it, everything looks amazing. Have had monitor for two years now, still works great. Never used the speakers, honestly didn't know it had them, so no comment on their quality, but for picture quality it is amazing. 24 inch is a good size for gaming I think, but still big enough to watch videos on in a bedroom / office / dorm. So if you care more about picture quality and robustness of display than you do about getting dirt cheap loot, this is a good choice.

Reading other reviews, I am always amazed that people find a dead pixel (do you use a magnifying glass, or is there a huge black spot, or what?) or have to go through all sorts of adjustments to get it right. Maybe I'm just not finicky enough. I took this monitor out of its box, turned it on, lowered the brightness, increased the contrast, and I'm happy. No fussing or looking for things to criticize. It is inexpensive, and it works. That's good for me.

Very sharp and clean picture, i play games alot like farcry 3 and dark souls along with many others and the high speed movement looks perfectly crisp, complete hd and a very nice look.
