The reviews online saying it is the best monitor for gaming is an understatement. TN panels are meant to have bad viewing angles, but damn is this thing great with angled viewing for a TN panel! Also, the brightness is so strong that I had to turn it down a lot, which is awesome!
The monitor design is so sexy that you just want to feel it up all day (gigity) and the cable management is great for keyboard and mouse too! You have so many great picture settings for different games depending on if you want scenic or prefer framerate!
There are options to add a selection of crosshairs to the screen for extra precesion or because your character doesn't have them unless scoped (so a bit cheaty lol)! The settings buttons on the side of the monitor are pleasant to operate, but this monitor lacks instructions to tell you how to setup some things and it didn't explain how to get rid of said crosshairs or the FPS counter on screen. I had to ask other people for that, which is why this is 4 stars, otherwise it is 10/5!

Hotly anticipated, I ordered this greatly reviewed monitor (27" 16:9 1440p IPS). I was in awe upon unpackaging it and plugging it in. But then I turned it on....... Oh no, the dreaded backlight bleed. As you can see in the image, it was attrocious and unusable. I made sure to tell Amazon as much.
I of course started the return process only to be told they can't replace it! Ridiculous! So I have been left no option but to get a refund and reorder. I'm sure it is an epic panel when properly built, but for now, I am left wanting.
I recommend this monitor, but expect to have to return it the long way round. All other similar monitors from other manufacturers use the same panel, so this sorry story is the same and common across all competition.
The optimistic few that keep trying are often rewarded for their perserverence, and I am determined to be one of them. I will update when my quest meets it's end, one way or another.....

I’ve owned other ultra wide monitors and IPS glow seems to be always an issue. This monitor had a fairly balanced colour temperature on entire panel however IPS flow was present where I was hoping it would be eliminated (just assuming because of the price). I would have kept it but unit I have received had cosmetic fault at the back. Backlit ASUS logo was not fitted in properly/was slightly pushed in which I found unacceptable especially when paying this kind of money for monitor. Issues with returning the item to Amazon requires completely separate review to be written.

Der PG279QE ist der Nachfolger des PG279Q, die beiden Modelle sind nahezu identisch. Die Specs sind die gleichen, es wird das gleiche Panel verwendet, das Feature-Set ist das gleiche.
Das einzige, was sich leicht verändert hat, ist das Design, aber auch nur minimal, wie aus den Fotos ersichtlich ist. Deutlichster Unterschied ist die nun fehlende Beleuchtung am Standfuß.
Dass die beiden Modelle fast identisch sind, heißt leider auch, dass sie zwar die selben Qualitäten haben, aber auch unter denselben Problemen leiden.
Ich hatte die naive Hoffnung (nachdem ich bereits einen PG279Q wegen Pixelfehlern zurücksenden musste), dass die Qualitätskontrolle beim Nachfolger verbessert wurde. Dem ist leider nicht so - auch mein Exemplar des PG279QE hatte wieder einen Pixelfehler. Bei einem günstigeren Produkt würde ich deswegen kein Aufhebens machen, aber bei 750 € erwarte ich ein fehlerfreies Produkt.
Was sich meinem subjektiven Eindruck nach beim PG279QE verbessert hat, ist das Backlight Bleeding; allerdings ist das ohnehin von Modell zu Modell unterschiedlich, vielleicht hatte ich bei meinem in der Hinsicht einfach Glück.

I have had this monitor for 7 months now and I have absolutely no issues with it. Gaming is simply awesome on it and at 200hz the games are super smooth but you do need a beefy graphics card to run games at a respectable frame rate. Both SDR and HDR is amazing but there is a lack of HDR titles at the moment.
I have not experienced any flickering and the fans are only barely audible and most of them time you don’t even know they are on. I read that if you set the deep sleep options on this eradicates the noise which seems to work for me. I also keep the plate that hides the ports off as this may keep it cooler and quieter. The build quality is phenomenal.
Overall, it’s an amazing monitor for gaming, movies and work - 5/5.

I had high hopes for this monitor, but I have been constantly disappointed. I was willing to forgive the weird looking text due to the BGR (rather than RGB) subpixel layout, but this monitor also has an incredibly annoying backlight flicker whenever variable refresh rate (VRR) is enabled.
When running the monitor with VRR off the picture is stunning and the HDR 1000 brightness is incredible, but being unable to use this monitor without disabling one of it's major features is an absolute deal breaker. I purchased this monitor in May and having now spent nearly 4 months testing a total of 3 monitors though the ASUS ROG RMA process I am now completely done with any hope of receiving a fully functional screen. The money they are asking for this thing is an absolute disgrace.
As of August 26th 2020 the monitor has ceased working entirely with the splash logo barely flickering when powered on, no OSD is visible and the screen is completely blank.

Purchased this in September of 2018. Since I bought it It has always had a weird screen glitch where occasionally a black line appears across the screen at random times. This really annoys me as I payed £500 for this monitor and I thought it would be good quality. The monitor has a good menu and you can customise a lot of the settings. It also has a very nice refresh rate of 240hz which is very nice for gaming. Overall I wouldn't buy this as it is very expensive and if its defective like mine it would be a big waste of money.

I got this on a deal through Amazon, where a German firm was selling second hand, but was being backed by the Amazon warranty, so I didn't get it brand new.
As far as I can tell the only difference was that the box was different and the power supply unit came with an EU plug, but no dead pixels and everything else was included.
Anyway, onto the review - Stunning! I already had another g-sync screen to compare it too. The Asus is better quality, after a bit of tuning on colours, looks great and is smooth as silk on fps games. A very good purchase.

Disgusted, Disheartened and extremely-stressed; these feeling what i was engulfed in, over a week regarding asus Rog-swift (PG348Q).
I bought this product for gaming/movies. I was on the market for a exstrely-vibrant, color-accurate, sharp-picture, so i found the Asus ROG-SWIFT (PG348Q) which ticked every box on my need list... i looked at alot of reviews about this monitor which all mostly positivity: 'YouTube', 'amazon' Althat, So I bought the monitor for £1,095 new. the seller was amazon the monior came with 3 year warranty from asus.

fault. one night I turn the monitor on for game of Black ops 3, and out of the blue the screen starts spacing out on me, first I thought it was the hdmi cable, I turned the monior off then turn it on, it stoped for a couple of seconds', then started again - I was worried at that point. Up to this point there was nothing wrong with the monior... I enjoy playing and whaching movies on the monior the reviews do not lie the picture is breathtaking.

I phoned amazon about the fault one of the amazon technicel engineer troubleshooted the monitor the fault was still there after, so technical engineer gave me ASUS phone number so I rang it explained my fault in detail, the employee of the technical department at ASUS troubleshooted the monitor and wanted pictures so I gave him the first picture through email to ASUS technicel department which was the one i put on amazon of the red, blue, green vericel lines. He questioned me on the fault like physical damage etc, which wasn't the cause to the fault. So Aftre baslickly he said "we can't send you a new one out it's like for like" I said "no why should i, i bought this new, i only had it for 5 months, I saved for months worked my entire summer away for this monitor, then I get this employee at ASUS say "like for like" like it was a second hand monitor... this argument went on for days in to a week back and fourth from amazon to asus. I got stressed and more stressed with this problem, I'm under the mental health with stress, anxiety and OCD; i am not saying this for empathy but this is how ASUS treats their
customers. This left me disgusted, disheartened with Asus. At this point I'm just exstremly-stress out this case was on the edge of a lawsuit with amazon. So they said: "Just send it back to us and we'll fully-refund" so i got every penny after all that aggravation. i'll never buy eny-thing which is asus band again.

Upgraded from a 60Hz to this.
The difference is massive. People are sceptical about the whole refresh rate thing, stating that the eye cannot detect it (my Dad being one of them). When I showed him this vs a 60Hz he couldn't believe it.
I highly recommend this monitor.
It came well packaged, with everything you need (even a HDMI and DP leads!).
The only suggestion I give is that you probably need to turn the brightness down to about 25.

EDIT: after owning this monitor for a week it now has quite a large dead pixel on the screen, very visible and distracting on white screens. After spending £500 this isn't really what i expect
The main issue with the other monitors seems to be backlight bleeding from IPS panels, but on this 24.5 inch TN panel right now it's perfect, 240hz as advertised. The only issue for me is the stand is a little big, a little bit unnecessary but I just need to buy a bigger desk really. You can turn the display light off underneath the monitor so not sure why I've seen people complaining about that. And that's about all really, colour quality is better than my 60hz benq monitor. Overall just a very nice monitor

The product is one of the OG IPS 1440p panels and promises a lot. The g-sync module is great and the performance is good too. Games are smooth on it.
HOWEVER.... the quality control is poor, mine had very poor backlight bleed, IPS glow and image retention was an issue as well. If the panel was properly QC’d it would be a different story.

AMAZING MONITOR !!!! ONE OF THE BEST I'VE EVER USED! I thought i would be disappointed with no VA panel but the IPS is just fine its so bright that at times even during the day i cant even adapt to its amazing bright screen!
Nvidia Gsync is flawless and so smooth... 120Hz is an upgrade to my previous 100 FreeSync monitor...
The contrast brightness and saturation is great... nothing too bad just needs a tiny tweeking on the Nvidia Control panel and /or calibration the screen, but other than that the 2K screen is flawless... the curved is perfect for my set up... not too curved and the width is great too!
I would 100 percent reccomend these over the Alien Ware and most other products... you wont be disappointed...
The only drawback is the built in speakers...but i feel like its pointless and i never use it due to me having a set up for speakers already...
BUY THIS NOWWW you wont regret it!!!! And if its no good just return it.. happy days !

Picture quality is fine for me, same or better than a 27inch samsung monitor I was using. No dead pixels and arrived in 2 days with free shipping with Hermes. First thing I did was test 240hz with the "UFO Test: Multiple Framerates" website and it's the performance is the real deal. I chose this monitor because I'm on a 980ti, i7 4770 so 1080p will do fine for me whilst still having GSync. Maybe I could have chosen a cheaper one but w/e. Frame/stand build quality reflects price. I haven't tested the SRGB mode on games to see the difference but gSync works fine.

I love this monitor, its sleek and easy to adjust on the fly, i can happily switch from one game to the other.
The only small note i would say is the preset gaming modes need to be trialled with your games to get the colours right, the presets are quite washed out if you've adjusted gamma etc fro a different monitor.
Well worth buying and i will be investing in another one before too long to set up a dual screen setup with this monitor, plus it's got a 3 year warranty :)

I already have the Asus Rog PG279Q which is a 165hz monitor at 1440p. I use a GTX 1080Ti so i wanted to push my frame rate. After reading all the reviews on this monitor i made the jump and purchased it. I can hand on heart say this monitor is an absolute BEAST! Anyone that says that the jump from 144hz to 240hz is hardly noticeable must be blind. The smoothness and snappy response is unreal. The only downside i can think is that i was used to 1440p and i downgraded to 1080p so sharpness isnt as good but i will take performance over visuals everytime. My PG278Q is now being used as a secondry monitor as this is just TOO GOOD!

From being a 60hz user for years and then jumping to 240hz monitor I noticed an enormous improvement in every aspect of this monitor. There's a common fallacy where people say the difference in 144hz to 240hz is very minimal. To me as I said the 60hz to 240hz jump was extremely noticeable but my when my brother came in to check out my new monitor (He's a 144hz user) he said the difference to him is too subtle. I do think a purchase like this is less worth it in you're already on 144hz but for someone like me who was on the low end for so many years then its definitely a worthwhile investment. Absolutely amazing for gaming and I would recommend. Only thing is if you're setting up this monitor by yourself it can be quite awkward to do so unless you have loads of space. Once the monitor is all set up it's nothing less than fantastic.

Ich war jetzt wirklich lange auf der Suche nach einem Gaming Monitor. Ich hab den X27 Acer Predator und den Acer XB3 getestet. Weil 4K Gaming sollte einen ja vom Hocker hauen. Was soll ich sagen mich hat es jetzt nicht vom Hocker gehauen. 2000€ für ein Monitor der es wirklich nicht Wert ist. IPS zu TN merkt man im Gaming schon den Unterschied. Ein TN bekommt es einfach besser hin. Wie kann man das beschreiben. TN bekommt es Flüssigere Bild bei Bewegung hin als IPS ganz egal wie teuer das IPS Panal ist. Trotz 144 FPS bei 4K. Darum hab ich mich für den PG278QE entschieden. Ich Persönlich finde das TN besser beim Gaming. Aber das muss jetzt selbst entscheiden. Kein IPS Glow, schönere Bild Bewegung in Games. Ich finde das Bild und die Farben angenehmer als beim IPS Panal. Wer zum Zocken einen geilen Monitor sucht dem kann ich dem PG278QE nur empfehlen. Nach Monate langer Suche endlich den richtigen Monitor gefunden. Ich würde ihn sofort wieder kaufen. Achse zum Schluss noch die Verarbeitungsqualität ist wirklich gut im Gegensatz zu Acer. Also der Monitor ist besser Verarbeitet als der 2000€ Monitor von Acer.

The Acer Predator XB241H is so much better than this in terms of the colours even though both are TN panels. This Asus monitor has bad side angle views and the colours are so dull.
Before buying this make sure you compare it wit the Acer Predator XB241H and you'll see that Acer is superior to Asus.

Awful back light bleed in bottom left corner. Problem persisted at distance (5m) and at straight angle (i.e. not IPS glow). This monitor has a bad reputation for quality control. I took a chance and it did not pay off. Returned for refund.

Premetto che di solito non scrivo recensioni, anzi a dire il vero questa è la prima recensione che scrivo qui su Amazon, ma visto l'entità del prodotto e la sua "scarsa" diffusione mi sento in dovere di scrivere due righe.
Seconda premessa: questo monitor ben lungi dall'essere il monitor definitivo.
Non fraintendetemi, Shadow of the Tomb Raider è veramente spettacolare in HDR.
La scena d'apertura quando Lara accende la torcia è come essere esposti alla luce diretta, si percepisce proprio l'intensità (Linus docet) e, grazie al pannello VA, i neri sono neri, senza quel glow fastidioso tipico dei pannelli IPS.
Quando si entra per la prima volta nella giungla se possibile è ancora più spettacolare, grazie ai 1000+ nits di picco il contrasto tra le zone d'ombra e la luce solare è incredibile (effetto wow!).

Scan lines e flickering.
Linee verticali tipo linee di interlacciamento (scan lines?) persistenti durante il movimento orizzontale della telecamera.
Il flickering a dire il vero l'ho notato solo una volta in Metro Exodus (risolto con l'update del Firmware dedicato) ma permane durante i caricamenti delle mappe in Gears 5.
Un'altra cosa che ho notato fin da subito è lo sharpening nettamente inferiore rispetto al mio monitor precedente (Acer X34). In Metro Exodus i dettagli distanti appaiono "blurrati" e in generale l'intera immagine risulta poco nitida, come se fosse attivo un filtro anti-aliasing temporale, veramente brutta questa cosa.
Un altro punto a sfavore è il ghosting, PAUROSO, soprattutto durante la transizione dei neri, impossibile non notarlo.
Non ho ancora menzionato gli aloni causati dalle 512 zone del FALD, ma mi sembra ovvio, sono visibili solamente nelle scene più scure, ma questo a mio avviso non è un grande problema.
Gli angoli di visioni non sono per nulla paragonabili a quelli di un pannello IPS, la differenza qui si fa sentire, soprattutto se si usa il monitor non solo per giocare.
Anche i colori non reggono il confronto rispetto al mio vecchio monitor IPS e appaiono "slavati", soprattutto in modalità SDR.
La ventola non l'ho trovata particolarmente rumorosa, sentire di sente ma non dà molto fastidio.
I 200 Hz li trovo inutili, forse anche i 180 Hz, i 144 Hz nativi sono invece un buon compromesso tra refresh rate e risoluzione senza perdere informazione, come avviene invece a 180 o 200 Hz che necessitano di chroma subsampling per essere attivati.
Per il costo beh, poco da dire, attualmente il prezzo qui su Amazon è di 2.599 euro, quindi direi non proprio alla portata di tutti, soprattutto viste le considerazioni che ho fatto poc'anzi.

Seconda premessa: questo monitor ben lungi dall'essere il monitor definitivo.
Non fraintendetemi, Shadow of the Tomb Raider è veramente spettacolare in HDR.
La scena d'apertura quando Lara accende la torcia è come essere esposti alla luce diretta, si percepisce proprio l'intensità (Linus docet) e, grazie al pannello VA, i neri sono neri, senza quel glow fastidioso tipico dei pannelli IPS.

I very nearly did not buy this simply because of so many shocking reviews on here. I am happy to say that I have not had any issues with this monitor and it works amazingly well through display port. Picture quality is pretty much perfect out the box and it’s great fun trying out all the different modes and overclocking it to 165Hz, not that you can really notice the difference!
My advice would be to ignore the reviews and give it a go if you’re on the fence. If you do get a bad quality unit amazons return policy is also very good.

Simply not worth the high price tag. I'd more happily spend about £100 less for what you get. The screen is nice, but not the best I've seen. The colours are good, and the size and brightness is good. Also big shame it's not 4k.

Going from 60hz to 240hz monitor is was one of the best decision i made. The difference is night and day. This monitor was recommended to me by a friend and i am grateful he did! The one minor complaint is that the colours are not as vibrant as an ips panel (as it is a tn panel) and that it does not have hdr support however it makes up with how responsive and how smooth it is.

ASUS PG349Q box looked like it had already been opened when which came more apparent when I opened the box and some of the items had already been opened but I still went ahead and tried the monitor which had a lot of light bleed in bottom corners this monitor was a previous RMA. I've contacted Amazon for a return

Amazing monitor, delivers exactly what promised. The only thing I dislike is that due to the rather short colour range, it doesn't make for good video/movie watching. Apart from that, response time is phenomenal, smoothness couldn't be better and the refresh rate makes all that happen. Sharp, crystal clear picture with every possible advantage. Obviously not a monitor to play Hearthstone on, more like games that require reactions. Would definitely recommend!

It does the gaming just fine for even very picky users. The only thing I had to get used to was the TN panel which was a major downgrade from an LCD. The colours look washed but after using it for solid few months I cannot recall how the LCD panel looked like.

Amazon, sort your description out. The product failed to mention that the plug for the monitor was not a UK plug and I was unable to use the monitor as a whole despite spending basically £700 on it. The product itself after finally getting it sorted is absolutely fantastic and worth the money, but not the hassle.

After reading a few reviews about TN panels and colour issues I was pleasantly surprised at how decent the colours are even compared to a benQ 32 inch 2560x1440 10-bit VA panel I have. I have a intel i7 3770k gtx 1080 and so far most games I'm seeing around 185fps - I suspect the CPU might be causing a slight bottleneck due to its age but even so its such an improvement over the 60hz I was using before.

jumped from 60 to 240hz, the difference it's huge, but bear in mind that you need a BF PC to be able to supply this monitor with all those juicy frames, but even if you dont use the top of the line graphics card, as long as you have an NVIDIA GPU that supports G-Sync, you will be stutter free, that's the main reason i bought this thing. A great gaming monitor overall

Backlight bleeding + pixel mort
Au prix demandé, il n'est pas sérieux d'avoir une dalle avec des fuites de lumière aussi présentes et des pixels morts. Ayant un autre écran IPS (à gauche), il ne présente pas ces soucis et est bien moins onéreux.
J'ai donc demandé un remplacement à Amazon qui a eu la gentillesse d'accepter.
Le second reçu est moins pire que le premier, mais présente toujours des fuites de lumière qui, même dans des conditions d'éclairage normales, suffisent à ternirent les noirs et les couleurs dans les coins sur mon wallpaper plutôt sombre.
Arrêtons de supporter Asus et les autres fabricants qui se permettent de demander un prix "premium" et nous envoyer des dalles de qualité minable. Il n'est pas normal d'avoir à demander 36 échanges aux revendeurs pour tomber sur un écran convenable.
J'ai donc demandé un remplacement à Amazon qui a eu la gentillesse d'accepter.

Je ne vais pas rentrer dans les détails techniques, j'ai eu plusieurs expériences d'écrans de tout types. C'est celui qui fatigue le moins malgré sa grand taille. C'est cher mais à ce prix on a le meilleur, la dalle incurvée apporte un confort dans le jeu et pour regarder des films. J'ai juste une réserve sur le bloc secteur qui a tendance a chauffer un peu trop à mon goût, j'espère qu'il va tenir dans le temps.
Le pilotage de l'écran est intuitif, beaucoup d'options très utiles.

Une hécatombe!!
Alors là c'est du jamais vu pour moi en tout cas, on parle plus de clouding mais de l'écran dans Poltergeist!! Les photos le montre; alors de gauche à droite c'est 144Hz puis 160Hz et en fin 180Hz. Demain direction la post il repart là d'ou il vient.

цена!!! яркость вырви глаз даже если настроить!!! вы за 20к можете найти моник лучше!!! 10 битых пикселей, менял 5 раз, все равно они есть, моник гаснет каждые 5 минут! хотя пользуюсь очень аккуратно!
Не советую его к покупке, не стоит своих денег, потратил 150к в пустую. За 20к вы можете найти монитор лучше. У этого Моника всего 2 плюса, герцовка, разрешение. Пригорело с этого монитора. UPD: Монитор теперь вовсе не показывает!!
