This monitor is absolutely incredible. The refresh rate combined with the curved screen really immerses you in the games, and honestly the first time I used it I was blown away by the quality and smoothness of the picture.

Amazing gaming monitor but does have some cons
I've had this monitor for a year and it's amazing for gaming and general use, games are super smooth and after using a monitor like this its hard to even look at a 60hz or lower screen. the monitor it self is made really well with what I'm guessing is a steel base holding it up with no wobble at all, something to keep in mind is that because of the stance of the legs it can take up a lot of room on a desk because of the V form it makes, the back of the monitor is a strong plastic and has a LED ring build-in that you can change using the menu built into the monitor, has a nice cover to hide cables and a hole in the stand to guild them through to make it less messy.
the display is non glare, has super good viewing angles, you can adjust the monitor with swivel, tilt and height and it has a very nice curve so you'll want to be in the centre to get the best feel for the display.
the built in menu is navigated with this little joy stick which is honestly the best way to use a menu on a display and I hope it becomes a standard thing for every monitor/TV has some nice features like blue light filters, free sync, timers, overlay for a cross-hair and a low latency mode that I always have on when I play games
the only bad thing about this display is the colour accuracy, don't get me wrong its not bad by any means but at times you can feel the lack of range it has like when watching some shows or movies but that's kinda to be expected from a "Gaming" monitor you can always play with the settings to get them the way you like, but most people wouldn't notice.
the underline is that if you like the way it looks or the style of most of Asus's products and you're looking for a well made and good looking monitor with 144hz you'll probably really enjoy using this display.

Fantastic 4K @ 144hz!!!
I purchased this along with the XG279q as I Ideally wanted native 1440p but thought I'd check this out at the same time just to be sure because for an extra 150 (with amazons discount at the time) I use it for gaming and as my main monitor for workloads. I've only really hit up Warzone but after changing some of the video settings and running a 2080ti you can get great results, I down grade the Samtt in game settings and I can get 1440 to look pretty good to be honest and run that on Warzone @144hz hitting more frames that hz. Input lag seem non existent, overall I kept this monitor as it serves me in every aspect of what I want from a screen, thats to say its fairly future proof given that it will cater for next gen consoles and next gen gpu's to get full advantage of the 144hz in 4K (probably 3080ti) but that said its a great screen in general, if you're not too fused about running 4K stuff then look elsewhere but if you sit close to the screen like I do when I play then 4k all the way lol. Colours seem great, I sit on the fence for the thick borders, when I'm gaming I dont take any notice of them and they kinda help to 'zone in' on what ytou're doing but aesthetically they look dated for a 2020 monitor.

Fantastic Monitor! Who needs 4K?
Love this monitor, everything from the ascetic of it and the rgb and led external lighting to the picture and refresh rate. This particular monitor is at the moment, free from fault; no back light bleed and no dead pixels! The picture is very vibrant and bright and probably even better than my other predator 4K monitor! It also has a wonderfully smooth performance, lightning fast with no blurriness that I can discern! The HDR on PC however isn’t up to all that much tbh but i honestly think that’s more to do with windows 10 than the monitor because HDR seems to work lovely on the PS4 pro! The only thing I would like on this monitor that it doesn’t seem to have, is comprehensive picture adjustment! It has many presets that seem to cover a wide gamut of viewing preferences but about the most you get to adjust within these presets is the brightness and contrast and maybe shadow boost and warm with some of them! Still, despite this its still a 5 star monitor! Very Happy customer here!

Really good quality. One issue
Really good monitor. Had a few faulty ones ordered from Amazon before but this was good.
There's one issue when I enter any fullscreen game. The screen goes blank and there's no signal and I have to turn off and turn on the monitor for it to work. I think it has to do with the G-Sync module, using this with an RTX 2070 Super.
Otherwise it's a great purchase.
Placed it on a stand which I've also purchased from Amazon. The original stand was great and had a light but I think this one looks much cleaner.

Stunning
Monitor is like a work of art and looks stunning. The stand is beautiful and there is a tiny understated ROG logo on the front with tiny and even bezels all around. Other than it is just pure screen which gets extremely bright and the motion is fluid and responsive. Currently using an Nvidia GPU so can't comment on freesync capabilities (yet) but in all games I've played it looks great. I'm also using the monitor for work and the dimensions are almost identical to 2 x 27 inch displays side by side which is what it replaced. The build quality is top notch and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another ASUS product again

Bad 240hz monitor, brilliant 60hz monitor...
Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to be a good quality product, the monitor flickers badly and distorts the image above 60hz when watching full screen video on any web browser or sometimes just scrolling down pages in windows programs.
Tested on different graphics cards to make sure it wasn’t a problem on my end but the problem persisted regardless of graphics card.
A great monitor on paper but when a monitor that’s supposed to be 240hz can’t comfortably deliver anything above 60hz then it defeats the purpose of having a monitor like this.

Look out for dead pixels
Bought this on easy pay a few months back but only got to set it up today and low and behold there is a massive multicoloured pixel problem just on bottom and in the middle I had not noticed it at first as I had one dead pixel to the far bottom right, should not expect this kind of pixel issue from as Asus £600 monitor

Absolute top quality... for the price
I don’t know if I just won the QA lottery, but this monitor is (for its intended purpose and price) perfect.
ELMB and refresh rate sync work fine with my 2070 over DisplayPort, and it doesn’t ghost at high frame rates and with no tearing or blur.
Backlight bleed is visible from bottom left corner but really not enough to distract from the game. Only negative might be the complicated menu to switch between config presets, as I bought this to do games and also work at home (as a software engineer).
Oh, in addition to the fact that the stand is absolutely massive, in spacial consumption. The stand legs take up most of the width of the desk... though it is a solid metal construction and definitely durable.

Great Monitor
The XG27UQ is a fantastic monitor from my first impressions since it only delivered yesterday as of writing this review. 4K@144Hz is amazing.
The only issue I have with the XG27UQ is accessing the vesa mount which involves removing two pieces that are not so obvious.
HDR 400 barely functions when compared to higher HDR certifications so it would be best to leave it turned off.
The bezels are very thick when compared to other recent monitors. But I personally don’t mind the thick bezels.

What can i say about these Asus rog Monitors , well the they are extremely well put together with ips screen, and the brightness is fantastic as well as picture clarity the 170hz and 1ms response time is just what any gamer needs, 1440p as always been the sweet spot for me specially in gaming . i bought 2 of these and i could not be happier if your looking for a gaming monitor you will not be disappointed with one of these

Too Niché for gaming.
Now, this was a great looking monitor don't get me wrong. I was drawn in by the idea of ultra wide and just having a massive screen in general, until i used it.
The 3440 x 1440 ratio seems to be quite niche and although i was aware of this it was not my main reason for returning the product, I use an RTX2070 card which is roughly the same as a 1080, 8 gigs of video memory etc.
I found that even when on my desktop the response time and refresh rate of things on my screen was drastically lower than my other monitor, to compare the other monitor was also an Asus product at 27inch with Gsync at 144hz with a 1ms response time. However when i set both screens to the same setting i still found that the 35inch screen couldn't keep up when i moved things quickly or moved around quickly in games giving it that motion blur effect instead of a crisp sharp feeling.
Alternatively the picture is excellent when there is no heavy movement and the overall screen is just nice.
If you have the extra cash and can deal with motion blur then fine, but its not for me. 6/10

Fantastic, Best monitor for FPS gaming
I got this monitor when it was on offer and it was worth every penny. It is one of the more expensive options out there when looking for a 240hz monitor, however it has many features on it where the price tag is worth it.
This monitor is definitely meant for games such as CS:GO, Overwatch and Rainbow Six Siege. Games where you can hit the high frame rates, I don't recommenced this monitor if you are going to be playing at anything below 144 frames, as you will not benefit from it and should get a 144hz monitor instead as it will save you money.
The RGB on the back is very subtle, there is really no need for it but at night it does have a small back glow on the wall which is quite nice, it also has the brands ROG logo as a light on the stand which shines down on your desk which is very vibrant (Again not very useful but looks cool).
I have a Asus VG248QE as my second monitor so the upgrade to 240hz is visible, but it isnt as big a jump from 60hz to 144hz. You do notice the difference when you go back to 144hz from using a the 240hz.
This monitor does also come with G sync however I have not fully tested that yet.
Final verdict: I would 100% buy this monitor if you are an FPS gamer and want that extra "advantage" in game, with the low response time and the high refresh rate. If you play games such as Shadow of the tomb raider where it is all about visuals, I would go for a 1440p monitor as the extra pixel density will look fantastic. I would only buy this when it is on sale if you can, but if you really want a new 240hz monitor now Buy this!

Good monitor but your mileage may vary
I purchased this monitor to upgrade from my BENQ XL2720Z which I got approximately five years ago.
Since I tend to spend a lot of time watching a new Samsung Q90R TV and then going on a TN Panel I decided to upgrade to an IPS monitor
The difference between 1440p and 1080 is pretty big once you put them next to each other and the IPS panel colours blow the TN out of the water in gaming and general browsing, in terms of response speed / input lag / ghosting i absolutely did not have any issues with the XG279Q which I purchase without the support of any reviews as there weren't any.
HOWEVER - The first panel that I got had a huge "IPS Glow" in the form of a huge dog tag in the middle of the screen so i ordered a replacement, the replacement panel didnt have the dog tag shaped IPS glow but had a dead pixel so currently shipping both back for full refund.
Also I expected this but HDR and ELMB Sync are pretty useless unless you like playing games like an iphone screen at 20% brightness
I will maybe try my luck with a third monitor as I really liked it and if it wasn't faulty it would be great but be prepared for an ordeal where you have to try 3/4/5 different panels.

great monitor
lovely gaming monitor but the rgb light under the bottom is faulty i think since i cant hook it up try it many times close of falling the monitor did lol so i give up i mean its only a flashing light haha fantastic monitor glad i had no other issues with it then the stupid asus light under the bottom would give it 9/10 great for everything

Super bright, vibrant and contrasty gaming monitor - IMO best out.
I have owned many gaming monitors and for me by far this is the best all rounder you can get. This wont be a long review as theres not much to say really, its just like the pg27aq however with freesync support for future consoles and of course gsync.
PRO TIP - My display arrived with horrible bleed in the corner that completely went away after a week of usage and now its perfect with zero bleed. Don't just auto return it as the panel needs time to warmup and the bezels loosen. Of course that will vary but still.

This monitor was a horrible experience from the get go it's so bright and has ghosting when you turn on the shadow boost things dont look right the pixels are horrible shame as it had the chance to be a good monitor. Assus have been lazy with this one

You get what you pay for... You get A LOT with this one! I have this did next to old monitor and wow I can't believe the quality difference. Would I but another?... Probably not it was a lot of money £600. But that said it does out shine all my mates rigs. The led back is pointless (for me) as it's against a wall and not powerful enough to reflect off my white wall. Very very slight glare, when sun coming through directly on it. Other than that it's pretty much all you need. Last note, don't have a narrow desk, using it 2 feet from you is a sure way to get headache!! Got a bigger desk now ;)

XG27UQ is amazing
4K @ 144hz is something to behold. A great screen but you will need a decent GPU to get high frame rates in 4k. I’m running this on a 2080ti with a OC i9 9900k CPU.

Couple of Dead Pixels and Light Uniformity Not Fantastic
Firstly the external build quality is excellent out of the box. However when I turned it on I immediately noticed a few dead pixels which was unfortunate. I noticed quite a lot of blurring in faster games and I think this put me off enough to return this screen. Also black levels were good but black uniformity wasn't great, back light bleed and generally the monitor was not as good as I was hoping for a such an expensive product. I feel for the cost you aren't getting many of the advantages you should get from a VA panel and obviously none of the advantages TN or IPS will give you. Positives are its bright and big which adds to immersion but I found that on my fairly large desk it was too large to look at mini maps and HUD elements in the corners as you are constantly moving your head. If you play FPS games you may be better at 27".

Quality monitor that did not disappoint.
As both a gamer and someone who works from home at my PC, this monitor is both a beautiful gaming monitor and sharp enough that working with text is also a dream.
It is all round, very high quality. The light projection of the ROG logo onto desktop is pretty awesome too. No complaints at all. Loving it.

Brilliant picture
Gorgeous monitor. A little bright out of the box so will need adjusting, I found that cinema mode was a good starting point to get a dark enough black. Time will tell if there are any issues but first impressions are that this is a good size monitor with just the right amount of curvature and a brilliant picture.

Too big up close? Nope, you get used to it!
I read anything above 27" will hurt your eyes. This monitor certainly took a day of getting used to (and despite how much I wanted to adjust, for the first day I couldn't and was afraid I wouldn't!) but after you adjust, it blows everything else out of the water. In the first week I felt like I was wearing a pseudo VR headset (curved screen gives you that minor illusion). It even makes Google's homepage look good.

Enjoyable and relaxing monitor
I'm currently using it for both work and gaming, and I'm honestly impressed by the quality of the display. Several options are available according to the use, to the specific game type, or specific health constraints (such as 4 different levels of blue light filters). Well done Asus!
