I have used Apple for time now. I was in graphic design & web design so Apple Macs great for productivity.
Looking for big fun in mini size pad or gaming ipad mini is great. Is like a mini novel book. Cause I like the idea of portable mini pad fits with the cases and the keyboard in my purse without hassle or extra "stuffing". I can pull out for my niece to watch videos or games on long car travel.
I also note that it is a very great for those not familiar with tablets. It very user friendly. Snap it is so friendly my mother can use it and she's not a tech savvy.(recommend a stylus with a point not the ball for writing or drawing or presentation notes).
My disappointment however if for my work/productivity. I purposely purchased to use with school and work. I am a teacher that has the interactive site or discovery programs. Major hit is the sites I need for the classroom that require Adobe FLASH support. Also it in my schooling also requires Adobe FLASH support for my online courses/assignment. Sigh, every so a big block for me. Maybe I missed it that part in my research in Apple iPad Mini with Samsung Galaxy 10. (oh the galaxy has flash support and already comes with programs as word, powerpoint, ect.)
My next discovery was how heavy I would more storage.
My conclusion is based on your needs.

I upgraded from the iPad 2. The size of the iPad mini is perfect. Retina screen is so nice! Super fast performance. This thing is a blast to use. I use this Mini 10 times more than I ever used the iPad 2. The size is perfect for gaming, travel, productivity and videos. I recommend this model above the iPad 2. The retina screen and upgraded performance is worth the $$ over the first gen iPad mini.

This is a really great iPad, it's size, weight and power make of this one a really great product, retina iPad mini is clearly better but this original iPad mini is a great choice too, having the price in mind.

I love this iPad, the size is great because it fits so easily where the bigger one does not. It came right on time, packaged well and I can't be happier. I am not sure if it has a warranty so I will have to go look in the box but all is well so far.

I got this iPad as an upgrade from my iPad gen 1. I absolutely love it. It's not big and bulkey like other iPads. It fits perfectly in your hand and the operation system works flawlessly.

The screen of my ipad mini shattered within 4 months. It costs twice more to repair it than the regular ipad. One repair shop asked $75.00 more than I paid for the ipad. The cheapest place was an online business that asks $180.00 for this repair.
I liked the size and functionality of this mini and it suited most of my needs. Unfortunately, I will not buy, again

I have been looking to buy an Apple iPad Mini for my wife. I read reviews. That said it is not brand new, it has been used, or it came damaged. I want everyone to know that the product I received was brand new in an Apple Box sealed never open! Also there is a bar code sticker on the plastic that also says new. Went to set it up no problems at all. This was my wife's Valentines Gift. With two little ones ages 3 /12 and 1 years old. She has no time to start the laptop log in. Now she grabs her iPad and does her thing. Great buy!

This ipad mini was bought for my child to use at school since they have launched a tablet program for the school books, etc. The price was wonderful!

I have disabilities that make it hard for me to hold and read books. The iPad mini makes reading a pleasure again. A wide variety of books can be read on this iPad. This size is better than the full size iPad because I can easily hold it in one hand while reading and turning pages. Another benefit is that the small size fits easily in most pockets and handbags.

This is my third purchase of an iPad mini from Amazon. We purchased this one as a gift for my mom who is in her late sixties. It was very easy to set up and now she can Facetime her grandchildren. At such a reasonable price, this iPad mini is accessible.

I got this as a gift for my 12 year old daughter! Came in on time... Actually before delivery date. Packaged nicely! And of course it doesn't leave her side! She loves it! Easy to set up too! I'd buy another for me someday!

My father-in -law never used a computer but loved when we face timed the grandchildren and great grandchildren so they bought one for his 100th birthday. He is face timing and googling all the things he is interested in. Some friends at assisted living are teaching him how to use it.

Time to buy a new iPad since my girl keeps taking away the iPad 3. I am not interested to buy the 1st generation of iPad mini since its not a retina display and the chip is almost the same with iPad 2.
the iPad mini with retina display is definitely worth to buy. The most impressive thing is just how crisp and vibrant the screen looks. The processor is so much faster compare to iPad 3. Unfortunately, once the girl found out, I have to go back to use iPad 3 since now she prefers the iPad mini.

Had a regular, went to the mini. Love the lighter weight, smaller size. Don't miss my old one at all.
