What can you say about Apple products, overall yes they are a tad pricey.
But I think they still provide the best web browsing experience overall. I have several tablets (androids/IOS/Windows), so definitely not a fan boy. I just like the experience I get with some of their products. This one doesn't let me down, considering its the first generation iPad mini still handles just about everything I throw at it. The screen resolution for being a non-retina is actually quite good IMO. I saved a few $'s by getting an older model, but love the 64GB storage & cellular with Verizon. This will definitely be my traveling companion, beats carrying the full size iPad around.

The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the keyboard. The Android has a swipe feature where you can trace each letter of a word to enter it which is much faster. However, the operating system, the way you move items, the clarity and the overall speed is far superior.

Last week I tripped over my iPad 2 charging cable (30 pin) as it was charging my pad and it ripped half the port's guts out of it. I love when I do stupid things like that! Give me an excuse to buy another one! I was shopping around and was looking between this and the air and ultimately decided to go with the mini with retina.
My wife has the 1st gen iPad mini and I regularly found myself using hers over my 2 due to the weight of her device.
I highly recommend checking it out before you buy the air. Best Buy displays them both side by side.

The iPad is too big, the iPhone is too small, this is just right. It's an Apple product, which means it just works. Do buy a protective case, it's worth the money, ask me how I know...

I'm just starting to use it, no problems yet, not much to comment on yet. My iMac is older so can't link itunes, which was dissapointing, but no fault of the ipad.

I've had my mini for a while and I'm so glad I decided to switch from the iPad 2 to the iPad Mini! I did get the mini with more memory and it's great. The ease of using it is something I was wanting because I have severe Rheumatoid Arthritis, so the Mini is light and to hold and carry. I would recommend it to my daughter and may just be buying her one for her birthday or Christmas.

Bought as a gift for my wife. She has an IPod but, thought this would be nicer for watching videos, texting, emails....... She loves it. Only uses IPod for texting now.

Love it I have an I pad but find my husband frequently is using it so I purchased the mini because it was smaller but still could use I cloud to transfer everything from the I pad

This is a nicely designed light, thin, and portable tablet device. I returned mine after a few days of use as there are too many limitations with tablets (especially of this expense) and I'd rather have a laptop or just use my smartphone. Things I enjoyed about the iPad mini: perfect size in my opinion, easy to set up and use, wide availability of apps and accessories, Amazon app available, nice email interface, bluetooth capable, clear high quality display. The things I didn't like about this device:
1. Moving files from a computer to the iPad mini has to be done via iTunes, you can't just copy over a folder of music or videos which is do-able just not as easy as on Android based devices
2. Price is quite a bit more than other 7" tablets, but the screen is actually 8" and for an Apple product, I'd say a pretty good value
3. Keyboard has no tracing or 'swype' like abilities which makes typing cumbersome without a keyboard.
4. App store makes you give a password for every single app you download (even the free ones)
5. As an e-reader, I'd chose one of the paper-white options over this, but it works fine for reading.
6. Its not a laptop
The last reason is my primary justification for returning the device. For a tablet it does what it is suppose to do. But I found myself still preferring to use my small laptop as multitasking is so much easier. I'd say if you really like using apps or playing games or simple web browsing, a tablet is the way to go. I personally found that for me the full computing power of a laptop is worth the extra weight/size, especially given the cost of this device (i.e., you can buy a small laptop for the cost of the iPad mini). However, if you like tablets, you will find this one a good option. And since Amazon app is available now you can save money over the over-priced content of the iTunes store where the same music/videos cost about 20-30% more.

I purchased the iPad Mini as a replacement for my aging Nook Color e-reader and a larger companion to my iPhone. Overall I'm thrilled. It arrived in perfect condition and works beautifully. It's light, fast, and the 32-gig version holds all of my apps and pictures with plenty of room to spare.
Docking a star because it takes far too long to charge.
Finally, if you can afford to spend a little extra for the new Mini with retina display, I recommend it. The resolution and camera quality on this version of the are disappointing for the price.

I have had an iPad my daughter currently owns. Last year I purchased an iPad4 loved it but just to big. My wife bought a mini and all it took was to put it in my hands and I was hooked. I bought this one the first chance I had. Great Great tablet.

I give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.I bought the ipad mini after my friend showed me what it does.Like it can be updated to ios7.The one thing that hit me hard was the price but everything was just great about it.It is super strong thin and lite it can even fit in to your bag or what ever you carry around .So this one time i was coming home from school.So i hop off the bus and guess what happen i drop it then i was like what is mom going to say.But then i flip it over and not one crack in it so i did not tell my mom that i dropped it.You can get 64 GB that is too much for me.You can get it in black or white.It is a fun little toy to play with it and it is super fast .Compared to the i pad 2 the i pad mini is a long shot win.The one thing about the i pad 2 is that it is super ez to brake and it is ez to drop.But with the i pad mini it like grips to your hands and you can not drop it and if you do somehow drop it i will not crack .I recommend this for a the apple lovers and if you have the money have fun with your i pad mini

After half-heartedly trying to get used to touch screen on an iPad (I found it too heavy to hold and use). But when I got my hands on the iPad mini, well - what a difference. It operates very close to the same way as the iPad, same apps, etc. I don't like Mac Mail on the iPad, and have been looking for another email client that I can use with both iMac and iPad. Tried to do this with Gmail and that was a total disaster.
You can't carry the Mini in your pocket (too big) but it slips into any number of places in a carry on back pack, or just carry in your hand. The picture isn't retina - but it doesn't make any difference at this size - the picture is fantastic.
Beware that some of the Apps are cloud based (on any tablet), and when you are out of reach of wi-fi - you flat don't have the app!!! I learned the hard way on a recent trip. I don't maintain any phone based connectivity, so I bought this iPad mini with just wi-fi, and find that I don't have trouble finding a hotspot (I use Boingo, and it really helps).
Small, but not iPhone small, light (much lighter than the iPad), great picture, tons of apps, great battery life - it is a winner.

Gave as a gift for christmas received late after christmas snow storm mini works good but very small print hard to see battery last but save your money and buy the bigger one i wouldnt recomend it

Love it so far. Way better than my old Blackberry Playbook tablet.
Only issue is I should have purchased a higher memory iPad mini since 16GB gets used up very fast with music n a couple of movies.

bought an ipda mini on july 8, 2013 and yesterday April 27, 2014, as the divice was dead I took it to Apple and found out it was not new, it was original sold at a target in california in january 2013 and it was out of warranty.
Make sure you are aware that what you are buying is NOT covered by 12 month warranty nor it is really NEW.
