Das Gerät an sich ist wunderbar und ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen.
Außerdem wird eine gratis Schutzhülle (Plastik-Box) mitgeliefert.

Zu beanstanden gibt es drei Sachen:
-die mir gelieferte beschädigte Verpackung (Ecken zerdrückt)
-kein mitgeliefertes Stromkabel (Betrieb mit USB oder Batterien ist aber möglich)
-Bedienungsanleitung nur auf Englisch und Französisch

All good things have been said about this product. And I do not counter most of them. It is well built and sound quality is decent.
However it failed me on two major accounts -

1. Its start up time is well over 10 seconds. I am using a new and decent SD card which my older recorder loads within 2 seconds. For a field recorder where I would like to capture a quick bird chirping or a sheep bleating etc. this just made me miss lot of opportunities on my trip. I always had it handy but to save battery I could not keep it on constantly on my 25 km hike through the forest area.

2. Even though the feel of hold is rubbery it still has handling noise prominently. Even a slight movement of the hand and you can hear rubbing sounds recorded. Recording level button makes huge sounds too and lets accept it that more often than not there are volume changes and you need to readjust recording level DURING recording. That transition will be embedded in the audio as TAKTAKTAK... the sound of pushing the buttons. For 20,000 INR this is unacceptable.

It is good as a portable recorder for a concert or a shoot where you can just keep it at a place and know exactly when the recording is beginning. It is NOT a handheld field recorder for someone out on adventure or capturing ambient sounds for projects. Just out of the return window I am stuck with it. OLX?

I"m a professional photographer, and I also do video for select clients. This is my go-to recorder. Paired with a wireless mic, this works like a charm. The menus take a little getting used to, but compared to Tascam products, it's much more user-friendly.

The microphones on the recorder are also pretty good if you're within a couple of feet of it. If you deal with audio-only interviews, this one's a no-brainer.

This item is fantastic. Pairs well with external mics I already have. I did find that the formatting of the memory card was a bit slow but other than that its a solid recording device and the built in mics pick up some awesome audio. Using a 32gb card and getting around 50 hours of recording time! As someone previously mentioned - the item only comes with itself, two batteries a manual and the case. No AC adaptor, no usb cord, no memory card. But the seller has done a fine job with telling us what it comes with and what it does not come with. I use this for documentary film making, corporate video, podcasts and web video and other video productions. Great item!

Great mic and sound quality is awesome! I don't have a DSLR so I need an external mic when recording outside. I didn't give it a 5-star only because I don't use any of the other features.

As a content creator o found this one is absolutely Value for money, makes your videos sounds pro, even with difficult atmosphere it gives decent sound,interms of noise reduction it gives more than its pricing, tough there are high priced marvels available...h4n pro stands out with handy and professional outcome within its price range... great product to buy. They could have included a power supply with instrument,it's battery drains heavily cant complain coz it demands more power, but kool with power bank and getting a connector cable was a painstaking one for me. Happy so far

Klasse Gerät mit wirklich hochwertigen Ergebnissen. Eine "große" SD-Karte verursacht zwar beim Anschalten des Geräts eine recht lange Ladezeit, was mich aber nicht weiter stört.
Mittels XLR (alternativ Klinke) habe ich den Player ans Mischpult angeschlossen und darüber Gesangsmikro und CD-Einspieler auf verschiedenen Spuren aufnehmen können. Durch die eingebauten Mikros oben am Gerät konnte ich auf einer weiteren Spur den Raum abnehmen (Applaus usw.). Dazu habe ich den Player auf einem Mikro-Stativ befestigt (Schraub-Halterung dafür befindet sich im Lieferumfang).
Außerdem kommt der Player mit einer Cubase-LE-Version. Nach der Aufnahme habe ich die SD-Karte einfach in den PC gesteckt und konnte mit der Cubase-Software die einzelnen Spuren separat bearbeiten. Obwohl ich technisch ein totaler Laie bin, klappte das schon nach kurzem "warm werden" wirklich gut. Fazit: Der Zoom-Player eignet sich auch für Leute, die keine große Fachkenntnis besitzen.
Sehr praktisch ist auch das mitgelieferte Case aus Hartplastik, in dem der Player sicher transportiert werden kann.

Nirgendwo in der Produktbeschreibuzng war angegeben, dass das Gerät ohne Speicherkarte kommt. Da ich mit einem baugleichen Gerät gearbeitet habe, nahm ich es nun mit auf Reportage - und stand nach dem Einschalten da ohne Karte !!!

Las diversas opciones y posibilidades que ofrece esta grabadora asegura una buena inversión y no quedarme limitado. La he probado conectándola a un micrófono lavalier Rode, a un micrófono Philips y directamente a una videocámara. Una vez haces varias pruebas y ajustas la configuración (volumen de grabación, volumen de salida de audio, filtros y otros, es más sencillo de lo que parece), la calidad es muy buena. Además, en Internet hay numerosos tutoriales en vídeo que ayudan con ciertas dudas. Muy recomendable.

Battery life absolutely sucks and had to buy AC adaptor separately with accessory kit which was way overpriced
auto change file format and boot time is very lacy.... audio is good but not satisfy how ..... Zoom is very good company why he do like make this type of product

Ich hatte das Gerät eigentlich für den Bereich Field Recording bestellt. Dann enttäuscht zurrückgesandt. Der Eingangspegel ist einfach viel zu schwach. Wenn ich nur bei voller Verstärkung gerade mal an die -12 db herankomme (und dabei das Rauschen heftig ist), kann ich mit dem Gerät nicht viel anfangen. An dem in vielen Rezensionen beschriebenen niedrigen Rauschpegel könnte ich mich leider nicht erfreuen. Habe dann noch gelesen, das selbst bei Verwendung externer Microphone die Nachteile des Vorverstärkers zum Tragen kommen, es wurde beschrieben das durch in-line Vorverstärker mit Batterie (ab 70€ das Stück) zu umgehen, aber das ist für mich keine Lösung. Bei 50% Recordlevel waren (normale Stimmaufnahme, 1m Abstand) es nicht mal -24db, normalisieren und Rauschentfernen ist doof da das Rauschprofil sehr inhomogen ist und über einen breiten Bereich geht. Von der Verarbeitung her war das Teil auch nicht besonders, die Deckel (Batteriefach und SDcard) sind sehr popelig und abbruchgefährdet, Spaltmaße waren groß/unterschiedlich als hätte man das Teil nur mit Gewalt zusammengedrückt. Nach einer Weile Benutzung als Audiodevice (als mic für den PC) traten einige Fehler zu Tage, es hat es gepfiffen, dann ging der Pegel für diesen Modus nicht mehr richtig einzustellen und es kam schlimmer verrauscht als mein 9€ Tischmicro.
Das H4n ist offenbar gut für sehr laute Schallquellen (Liveaufnahmen Musik) einsetzbar, aber auf 4 Kanäle kann ich eigentlich bei einem Handheld Gerät auch verzichten, von den ganzen sinnlosen Effekten ganz abgesehen. Windempfindlichkeit ist sehr hoch, Bedienungsanleitung ist lückenhaft, einige Funktionen wie Matrix werden unzureichend bis gar nicht beschrieben. Batterieverbrauch ist ganz ok denke ich. Lobend zu erwähnen ist die einfache und ergonomische Bedienung, die problemlose Datenübertragung per USB2, die Möglichkeit ein Fotostativ zu verwenden, der Lieferumfang (4Gb micro SD, Deutsche Bedienungsanleitung, einfacher Windschutz, Microstartiv-Adapter) und eben die gute Klangqualität bei lauten Schallquellen.
Ich habe das Teil wieder (enttäuscht) zurrückgeschickt und suche mir etwas anderes, vielleicht ist ein Sony PCM-M10 besser für meine Zwecke geeignet.

Fazit: Wollt ihr laute Konzerte mitschneiden oder Sprache aus nächster Nähe aufnehmen ist das Zoom H4n sicher eine robuste Lösung. Für Field Recording sucht euch etwas anderes.

I bought this to record sound, but when I started to read the manual I was excited to find out I could plug a guitar into it and use 50 effects, a metronome, multitrack, slow down speed etc.

This thing is great! Read the manual, you'll get a lot more out of it.

Excellent recorder. Acoustic guitar sounds much better than on my top of the line Sony recorder. Interface is fairly intuitive and it doesn't take much time to figure out how to monitor and record multiple tracks. I haven't tried recording guitar using any of the many built in effects, but if they are similar to those in other Zoom products, I assume they will sound good and be usable for guitar parts that can later be put in a DAW. I plan on getting the U44 audio interface next to use with Reaper and CuBase.

Kenne die vergleichbaren Produkte anderer Hersteller nicht. Dieser Recorder ist leicht zu verstehen, leicht zu bedienen, macht gute Aufnahmen und ist definitiv outdoortauglich. Akkuverbrauch bei externem Mic ist superhoch und nur mit powerbank zu schaffen und deckel für sd-karte fiel irgendwann ab. sonst gutes teil.

I really enjoy using this item, but to be honest there is a little static sound in the back because the item is really strong. also sometimes it has some type of charge and u have to hit the item to remove because one of the channels gives you white noise. if you are doing asmr type videos, just get a yeti. but for other stuff like outside recording ambiance, rain etc, or collecting sample sounds for beat making, get this item.

Not super intuitive to a beginner but nonetheless an excellent tool in my video production kit. I mostly use the mics on the actual Zoom mic rather than connecting external mics, but I'm excited to try that too.

Exceptional build quality and recording quality. The unit takes forever to boot when powered up so the hardware and software are pretty old I think. The battery lasts me about 1-2 hours of recording and use. Feels like I'm always replacing as they die quickly. Otherwise really great unit for the price.

This is a little bombshell of a product ! So many features in one device . I use it as a shotgun mic, a USB mic , an audio interface for condenser mics and a boom mic …
Try buying all of those … it'll cost you 3 times the money.

This is a very affordable step into quality audio recordings. I'm not a musician so I can't speak to how it works for that, but I do a lot of interviews with elders, people with accents and those where English is their second language. The mic's on the unit are able to provide very clear recordings that allow you to hear what the person said which is extremely important for when you are doing transcriptions sometime in the future. I've been told that the newer models provide a richer recording, but this unit meets my needs and then some.

Es una máquina potentísima. Puede grabar a cuarto canales con conexiones canon y jack con lo que puedes conectar instrumentos directamente y grabar por pistas. Una locura. El micro ambiente es de una calidad insultante. En fin, un aparato que debes tener. Yo lo utilizo para entrevistas y grabar acústicos a grupos de música.

E' lo strumento di registrazione ideale per chi canta in coro. Usato nelle prove e in concerti, Qualità molto buona dell'audio registrato ,certo non professionale da registrazione in studio , ma la qualità è superiore a qualsiasi registratore manuale.
La registrazione fatta ad oggi è stereo, non l'ho mai provato con microfoni esterni per cui non ho esperienza in tal senso. Comunque soddisfatto dell'acquisto.

What a sweet little machine! It does everything it should do, and no surprises or heartbreak so far. It helps to be familiar with menu-driven devices and have some recording experience, but there's no reason for a newbie to be afraid of the learning curve. Haven't tried all the edit/post-production functions yet, but all will be revealed in the 150-page manual :-) Zoom should throw in a power supply and charge an extra two bucks.

Loading Cubase, Wavelab and the download obstructor - now that's another story . . .

Friend and I are starting a podcast but we don't have a computer to record too. If you have the money for this + 2 XLR mics, you can make a budget podcast sound amazing.

Only losing one star because it doesn't come with its own power cord. Had to buy that by itself.

The casing of the recorder has a rubbery texture but is firm like plastic which makes it have a good grip and doesn't scratch easily. The silver section on the top seems to be made of metal and overall, the mic is well-built.

I would definitely recommend this as it can be used to record vocals, ambiance, and Foley. And, having two XLR inputs and phantom power, it's capable of handling external mics such as Lav, shotgun, etc. that require phantom power.
