These are a must have if you need reliable storage. They are intended for a RAID or NAS type box, but even as a stand alone drive they are good.I have it connected to a USB 3.0 doc, and these give me a consistent sequential speed of 148MB/s. That's very good for a sub 7200rpm drive.The drive is right next to me, and it's quiet. You would have to put your ear next to it to hear anything.The only problem is that these are on short supply, and I hope WD ramps up the volume.

Seems to be better in the Windows Home Server versus the green drives that they come with. Would highly recommend.

Works about the same as the green drives in my NAS. No more, no less. Speed seems equal, but I am hoping error recovery is better.

I have these in a Synology NAS which reports that they run at about 91 degrees. Not bad, and been solid so far!

Price is right, when they fail you get replacements quickly. Have a bunch of these and have had decent results, thus purchased more. No worries.

These NAS drives are quite and work great with my Synology Diskstation D712+. Would recommend to anyone using a NAS.

SATA drive mounted in case (by me) with USB3 output. Easily connected to router. Much cooler running than regular drives. Reasonably fast. Turn it on and forget it. Works like a champ.

Be sure to check out the review at Tom's Hardware for these drives:[...]It is key to recognize that these drives are a balance between the enterprise and desktop design paradigms, with a good price tag. And, they are specifically intended for small arrays for RAID NAS.

These drives are specifically design for network drives and or server drives.Very fast response and speed. I purchased 3 of these from Amazon a month ago. Very satisfied with these drives.
