Великолепно

This may not be the fastest drive out there, but if you don't feel like spending over 300 dollars for a good SSD, this is the way to go, this product is fast, reliable and unlike some people have said, it IS NOT A LOUD drive, unless you have your ear next to it or want to use it with an open computer case, you shouldn't be able to hear it at all, I know I cant.

Великолепно

Used this Velociraptor as a storage drive along with my SSD as my OS drive. Velovicraptor is amazingly fast and quiet. I'm glad I decided on this drive and because my case has hot swappable drive bays it won't be a difficult decision to make in getting another one.

First .. delivery service to Monterrey Mexico were excellent in 4 days and I had it in my hands ..As for the WD Velociraptor 150 gb .., I just installed and I can comment so far is that it's a very very quiet .., you feel the speed of 10K RXP, very pleased with the acquisition

Is this a see-through drive in a transparent polycarbonate enclosure like the Western Digital Raptor X WD1500AHFD 150GB? Can you see the disks spinning, or are the pictures showing the innards simply misleading advertisement?

This thing breathed new life into an old computer. Programs snap to life without hesitation. Ignore all the other "speed" numbers, buy this HD, and enjoy speed that actually matters during real world use.

I bought two of these. One is still okay, but I'm nervous about it, because the other one got the click of death at about 8 months. Backup your stuff often if you are going to use this.

I was pretty pleased with this transaction and that doesn't happen a lot. I ordered one initially, lowest price among several major distributors, free shipping through Amazon, shipping package was the best method for shipping a hard drive I have ever seen. The item was new, unused, not a repackaged, used product sold as "new", like those I had puchased from a major auction site recently (both failed in months). Western Digital produces the most reliable hard drive on the market and these are the fastest. With four of these in RAID 0 my computer performs as fast as the fastest SSD, 600 GBs of space as opposed to 60GBs, no degradation issues with these like you see with the SSDs. I ordered another soon after I received the first and was going to get another one just the other day but the price here had jumped $20 so I ordered one from another major distributor where the price had dropped $20, shipping was still free but I'll bet it arrives in bubble wrap.

This is a great hard drive, no one denies that. But what I wanted to say was it came well packaged from Amazon and it works fine. It's also reasonably quiet. You can't go wrong with this drive, the price, and Amazon's shipping is just great!

Buyed this hard drive to replace an old Seagate 250Gb that i had running with my OS, it was really slow, now with this hard drive its just blazing fast opening my applications, my computer bottleneck was the hard drive, incredible performance, it offers a good value and 300Gb its something hard to fill just with apps, got two dummy 1Tb HDD for data.

The Drive works prefectly, Sensors say it's running a little hot but I only use the Drive for applications. Data storage goes to slave Drives. The Product was delievered faster then expected and I have to say I'm pleased with the new Drive but it doesn't seem that applications are loading any faster, as I was hoping.

Although my Windows 7 Experience index pointing 5.9 because of the disk data transfer rate of this HDD unit but the feel is 10 out of 10Price is a bit high comparing to the SSD in the market

After reading many customer reviews and noticing the several complaints about NOISE from this drive, I was very hesitant to spring for the big bucks --- BUT, after throwing caution to the wind, I decided to go for the BIG SPEED anyways. I'm glad I gambled, 'cause this 150-GB drive is lightning-fast -- and MUCH more quiet than either my 160 GB, 7200 rpm Samsung or my 500 GB, 7200 rpm Seagate !! I installed the 10k 'Raptor into my rig, threw the switch, and loaded Windows XP SP3 in there -- and was on-line in just a few minutes !! I've run the 'Raptor for over 2 years now, and can't find anything to complain about !! -- the lightweight 'Raptor runs super-fast, it's VERY quiet, and that huge heat-sink keeps it nice (25-30 degrees C) and cool, too. Currently, I have 5 different hard-drives in use, and the 10k Velociraptor is the very best in every way !!UPDATE: 21 July, 2012 -- STILL running ICE-COLD, lightning-fast, and as quiet as a passing cloud !!! Research and conversations with other 'Raptor owners has shown conclusively that it was the EARLIER MODELS of the 10k 'Raptor that had the heat issues -- new stock is good to go !! The only quirk to this beauty is the smallish capacity -- you MAY want to use this 'Raptor as a Main Drive and use a larger drive for storage.

I had this drive for a little over a year. Boot time is faster than the drive I had in there. Install was no different from any other drive I had. The drive live in a hotswapable drive bay for about 10 months. Then I mounted it inside my case. Performance was exactly the same. I usually leave my computer on all the time Friday to Sunday and have it on half the day the rest of the week. I mainly use this drive for the OS in this case windows 7 and taxing games. Everything else goes on my other drive that recently died on me.I did some touch test after running the drive for a few hours. Drive was on the cool side. My other drive was much warmer.I would buy this again if the drive died depending on the current cost of SSD drives.Just the basicsBoot time is fastAccess time is fastNo problems in over a yearDrive runs coolSorry for the poor review. This is more for people that just want to know how it preformed over a long period of time.update: 17-JAN-13I have now had this drive for 3 years and it is still going strong.

As a computer techy I was pleasantly surprised at the speed of the WD Velociraptor. The response times are nothing short of amazing. I was looking into getting a Solid State Hard Drive until I stumbled onto the Velociraptor. The reviews on this product basically sold me. I am extremely happy with my purchase and it came quickly from Amazon. I would recommend this hard drive to anyone looking for a fast and reliable hard drive upgrade. Also, WIN7 works great with this hard drive, I have had no problems. WD Velociraptor has a bigger brother too....the 600GB, and this will be my next purchase, Western Digital has great products. The warranty on this drive also sold me....5 years....they know it's good.

Pretty good drive. Not as impressed with the speed as other reviewers tho. Had some trouble getting it to work, and it just randomly worked after rebooting my computer a couple times.

I installed this in my Mac Pro. Super simple as it just slides right in. Amazing speed and definitely quiet enough. I love it! The fact that it also has the best reliability rating of any drive with 1.4 million hours between failures gives me the piece of mind that this drive will last a long time. My system is rock solid now.

Western Digital 300 GB VelociRaptor SATA 10,000 RPM 16 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive WD3000HLFS [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] When I first purchased this sata drive I intended to use is as the main drive for the OS & program files with the 1-Tb drive to hold data. It works so smooth and fast. It was also easy to install. I have used it for six months editing my photos with PhotoShop Pro X2 and it's been really efficient. I decided to purchase another Raptor 300Gb after backing up the the data I already have. It should work great in a RAID 0 configuration...Western Digital doesn't provide support--because they provide their own RAID setups--but with the speed and performance of this sata drive I don't expect to need any support after I setup with my Nvidia 790i SLI mobo. Most of the drives I have purchased over time were Western Digital, and to date--I have not had any problems. This drive is no exception. It purrrs with performance!

I replaced a 7200 RPM Hard Drive with this 300 GB VelociRaptor. I new it would be faster BUT, its FASTER. Its significantly faster. I waited till the price dropped to $199 before my purchase. I now know why they dropped the price. The 300 was replaced with a 450 GB and a 600 GB. When the price is right don't hesitate. One caveat, it gets rather HOT. ONLY INSTALL THIS IN A CASE WITH GOOD AIR FLOW.*UPDATE* I'm now using two 600GB VelociRaptors in a RAID-0 Enclosure (SansDigital TS2CT) attached via eSATA. Thats 1,200 Gigabytes of Lightening. My 500GB Samsung SSD is noticeably faster though. I wish I could afford two of the Samsungs. I would install them into the TS2CT.

I've been using this drive for my OS drive for a few years now. Nothing beats the speed of 10K RPM! It runs relatively quiet as well. I've reinstall Windows a few times and with this drive, I've to admit it's kind of fun!

I bought this risking a lot it had no international warranty it was sort of refurbished ( the sticker was changed) it had no heatsink but Iam glad to say it works perfect.... i had a 5200 rpm HDD so this was a huge leap this thing is better than some SSDs out there for me this is the best choice maybe if you have enough cash to spare buy two 150 gbs of these and put them in a raid config that makes a huge difference and offcoarse this is a systems HD dont buy it to store movies and stuff you wont notice much of a difference only in write speeds and please dont belive windows ratings I have a really high end pc and my ratings are bad

Replaced my 70 gig WD hard drive with this Velocirapter 300 , used HD Clone 3.8 and everything booted up just like before. There were no problems and no hiccups, everything worked like before only a lot faster. You could tell the new drive was there with the new boot up speed and the way it performed all other functions. It's just as quiet and smooth as before with no extra noises even when performing plenty of tasks. If you were thinking about buying this drive I can give it a good " Thumbs Up" from this satisfied customer.
