I got this monitor at work as an external monitor on a 27" iMac because the glare on the iMac was causing eye strain. When I connected it I was quite concerned because the iMac didn't offer 1920x1080 resolution for this monitor. I am using a mini display port to HDMI adapter since this monitor does not have DVI inputs. After 30 minutes searching the internet I found no resolution for this so I contacted ViewSonic support and they told me how to fix it right away and after I followed these instructions the monitor is working perfectly in 1920x1080 resolution.1. Press the [1] button to display the OSD menu.2. Use the up/down button to select INPUT SELECT. Press the [2] button to confirm.3. Use the up/down button to select HDMI1-PC.4. Press [2] to enable function.5. Press the [1] button twice to save and exit.I would highly recommend this monitor.

Resolution did not go to 1920 x 1080 without screen going off the monitor. Other monitors work at that resolution on computer. Screen blinks as well. Got expert help, called their support line, tried multiple connections/input/outputs, etc. Nothing was able to fix it.

I bought this monitor for two purposes, to use with my Xbox 360 and as a computer monitor. The monitor has two HDMI inputs and one RGB input so I can use one HDMI for the Xbox 360 and drive the second HDMI (and/or the RGB) input with the my laptop. I originally was provided with a bad HDMI cable (Amazon immediately processed my return request - no questions asked) but, once the cable was replaced, the monitor has really delivered! It automatically switches modes and inputs (video or computer) and has a very bright and clear display. I especially like the integrated picture frame stand. Overall, a great product.

This monitor would not connect to my iMac or my MacBook pro. I used a Cables to Go DVI-D male/male cable and a Startech MDP2DVI converter. I reset the SMC, and powered up the computer and display both ways all to no avail. The monitor would power on OK but then said no signal. I know that it is a monitor problem because I've since got an Acer monitor (S231HL) and it works fine with the same cable and converter. Amazon paid for return shipping, and picked it up less than 24 hours after I requested a return. Is that service or what?

Got my Viewsonic monitor to run my Ps3 and Acer laptop through and it's been a total success. Brilliant colors, perfect picture (no dead pixels, yay!) and plenty of inputs. Just a few cons....1. Speakers. . . Not much to say. Flatscreen speakers, what do you expect? Volume control is a pain and movies are very hard to hear without external speakers/headphones.2. Probably a connection problem but the screen goes black for a few seconds every once in a while.Despite these small flaws it works brilliantly and I totally recommend it. Having 1080p res with multiple HDMI inputs allows me to have all kinds of fun with all my media sources!

I would strongly advise against purchasing this monitor. I picked it up new/unopened from a local retailer and it was missing one of the AC cables that's needed to plug in the AC transformer, so I couldn't power up the unit and had to retun it to the store to prove it was missing.Oddly enough they did include a Europen style AC power plug in the box, one that can't be used in the USA, so I initially though the retailer sold me an opened item, but as it turns out I was not the only one who returned this same unit who suffered the the same issue.THe retailer gave me a replacement adapter and I took the monitor home.I finally got it powered up and the picture was horrible over HDMI. Worse yet you can't adjust the picture's sharpness, H hold etc, becasue they are grayed out when using HDMI. Not sure why. But the wost feature of this monitor is that it has an eco friendly feature that dims the display each time you change between windows. It's exteemely annoying and can't be shut off.I returned the ViewSonic and purchased the ASUS VE278 and it's great!

The monitor is usable but I would not purchase it again or recommend it. I have two major issues with it:1. It makes a humming noise that is noticeable in a quiet room. The noise becomes much louder if the screen is displaying mostly white areas. Then, I find the noise very annoying.2. The screen colors and contrast are not as good as my five year old Samsung monitor. Playing with the screen menu settings didn't improve it much.The speakers are also weak but this I was expecting.

The monitor is not even close to what I expected from Viewsonic. The color on the outer edges is blurred and looks like some light is coming in from somewhere also there are no speakers on this monitor. There is some kind of sound coming from somewhere but NOT THE SOUND THE AD BOOSTS! It is faint noise and that is it. I will not buy a View sonic again.

Live up to all the spec and more. I use for my pc, laptop and xbox 360 and the picture is unbelievable. I looked at the reviews before buying and they were right about the speakers being under powered but i mostly us the speakers at night so the low volume is perfect.

Received in good condition to replace a VP181 that I purchased 20 years ago. I hope that this monitor lives up to the reputation of its predecessor (which cost 10x as much as this did with money worth 2x what today's is).Picture quality is excellent, tho' I'm not thrilled with wide screen being the only purchase option. Speakers don't appear to be of same quality of predecessor --- maybe because present ones are in back of unit vs predecessors location in the base. Also negative is itty bitty chicklet control buttons on front instead of reasonable size keys and they are harder to see (especially in low light levels) in black than they were in beige.

I was recently shopping around to find an LED monitor and I came across this one. Although it's not a full LED, but it's just amazing! I agree with other reviewers that if you type fast on a desk that is not stable, it might wobble a bit which is "ok" for now.I like the fact that it's light weight, the picture quality is great too!I also got a DVI->HDMI adapter [...] to connect it to my MacBook Pro - works perfectly well. I tried Windows 7 and Mac OS X -> both are awesome.No dead pixels or whatsoever. I think the only minor downside for me is that it's not that stable on the table due to its weight - that's it so far. (I'll post an update in a few months).I played World of Warcraft on it and it looks awesome!I highly recommend it :)!Hope that helps!KBEDIT: After using it for a few days, I noticed that the sound is awful indeed. It feels kinda weird.

The monitor is great. It's super thin, energy efficient, fast, and the colors are fantastic. The dual HDMI works well. The controls take some getting used to using. With buttons labelled 1 and 2, you'd assume they map to hdmi 1 and hdmi 2, but you would assume wrong. The 1 button controls the on screen menu. The 2 button lets you switch between hdmi 1 and hdmi 2. Other than the controls, which you don't play with much at all, it's great.

I have been using this monitor for almost two months and have found nothing whatsoever wrong with the video and imagery of this monitor. I does have built in speakers which are lacking in both volume AND sound quality. They sound very close to the quality of laptop speakers. Monitor rates a 5 star PLUS, speakers about a 2 star rating.

Great TV, great Monitor, almost has it all except no Remote!!! Can only change the volume manually, how come?Picture is great and sharp, sound is good, but I am missing that remote control I have gotten used to with all other devices!

I think the Apple monitors are top-notch and I was thinking about buying one of them. However the reviews here led me to purchase this monitor and use it with a new Mac Mini.This monitor is a fantastic value. It has HDMI which works great with the Apple Mac Mini. the picture quality is very, very good. I figured I saved a small fortune by purchasing this Viewsonic 24-inch LED monitor. It is perfectly compatible with Mac and Windows computers, it is very lightweight and uses tiny amounts of electricity. It doesn't get much better than this folks so don't hesitate to buy it.

Very impressed with this monitor. It is thin and light, and the screen image is very crisp. Love that it has 2 HDMI ports, as I have my computer and XBox 360 plugged into it. My only complaint would be the speakers are very quiet, even at full volume. But it does have a audio out port built in for adding speakers. So if you're using it for your console or BR/DVD, you'll want to purchase speakers. If you're using this for your computer, it's a great monitor. And you can't beat the price.

Note: This monitor does not have built in audio.Have bought a few tvs trying to find a pc monitor. 720p LCDs look no good. This viewsonic 1080p 1920 x 1280 looks good. p.s. Comes with VGA PC cable, HDMI cable, every cable you need. HDMI would cost you 30 bucks or more.Blacks are nice and black. Photos look spectacular. Colors are true.Will compare with TCL 24" TV, supposed to be the same specs. TV would be a bonus... But this viewsonic LED is beautiful.Update: Okay, I compared it in depth (visually) to a 32 inch and 24 inch TCL TVs, a 32 inch 720p LG 720p HDTV, and a Hanspree 25 inch monitor. This Viewsonic blows them all away by a mile, as far as using it for a computer monitor.I might add that on 24 inches, you can split the screen and edit two 8-1/2 by 11 sheets (Word or PDF) side by side, actual size.

Pretty decent monitor. I use a set of speakers, so I don't pay much attention to the built in ones. The only thing I have to say negatively is that the power button isn't obvious. Once you figure out where it is, you're fine, but it would be easier to setup if it were more obvious that it's a power button.

This monitor is great. I went from a 19-inch to this 24-inch and it makes a big difference. I noticed a big improvement in the picture quality while playing games and the refresh rate was much faster than my older monitor so i no longer got the blur effect. Only thing i cant get to work is the speakers, which i didn't put much effort into, and i don't care because i have nice desktop speakers. I cant imagine they are very powerful even if they did work. No dead spots and great picture quality cant ask for much more.

Got 2 of these to mount in my new Ergotron dual monitor workstand (reviewed separately - the best computer work-station I have ever seen) and its a terrific workstation, use it standing up for short tasks, or pull-down for longer jobs. Ergotron workstation + 2 monitors, for a total of $661 was well worth the money, as I have back issues for sitting too long, now its all much better.

This is a big, beautiful screen, and is truly plug and play. I often work from home, and this screen makes reading documents and doing all the research I need to do very easy. I'm able to have all of my multiple documents, web pages, IMs etc. up with no problem. With this screen, I really have no need for a dual screen set up for work.I noticed slightly washed out colors when I hooked the screen up, but have played with the settings and adjusted them so that the picture looks much better than it did out of the box.For those concerned about the lack of VGA inputs for a Mac, I purchased a mini-display port to HDMI converter, and had no problem setting up the screen to use with my MacBook Pro.Overall, for the price, I believe that this is a great value for the screen size.

It has been 8 months since i have bought it, am completely satisfied with it. Screen is Matte , crisp and comfortable to eyes. Built is good.I use it to extend my laptop screen, for coding and movies. It has dvi, vga and usb ports, In-built speakers are useless though, but one shouldn't expect decent speakers on monitors, nevertheless i use studio cans (nothing can beat them). Rotation is nice feature, though i havent used it much, swivel is smooth. One thing i miss in it, as moving from samsung to viewsonic is the presets of brightness and color themes, for reading/coding and movies you need different brightness and contrast settings, which in samsung can be changed just by a button click.Update Oct/10/2011:-After an year of super heavy use, I must say is is working flawlessly for any kind of use be it multimedia or normal pc stuff, and colors are even better than hd my super glossy laptop screen (MSI GT680R), reflections on which gives me headache. I have compared both glossy and matte, and trust me Matte is best for eyes if you are reading for long say 5+ hours.I bought PS3 this week, and it shows display through (hdmi-->dvi cable) and on 1080p :-), though its nowhere mentioned on manual or product site, but this monitor is hdcp compatible (sweeeeeet), folks you can play your blue-ray content on this as well. Keep in mind there is no way to get hdcp HD on screen if your display doesn't support it.:D I guess this one wont allow me to buy any new screen in near future, one of my friend told from his 6+ year experience viewsonic products last damn too long.

The product is fine although it took longer than expected to receive it. I actually now have three Viewsonic screens, one at work and two at home, that I use side by side.
