If not for Amazon's fluctuating price policy (up $439 before going back down to $349, when I bought it, then down again to $329), I would give this 4.5 stars. The other 0.5 star is for the micro USB that is not usable for my purpose of connecting a Chromecast to the projector. I can still use the Chromecast when plugging it in the wall outlet for power. Other than this nitpick, the projector is as good as reviewed extensively here. Don't expect too much out of the built-in speakers. Video quality is excellent. Easy to set up. I plan to get an HDMI splitter to feed more input. Overall, I highly recommend this budget projector.

I love amazon and I love this projector. LOL. I read literally all the review before I purchased it to be confident it would be the right purchase for our living room. Not only does the hdmi cable make the picture real 1080p, but we have turned out living room into a theater with this and our new lazyboys. Directv, bluray, computers, speakers, ect will all hook up easily and the install was painless. I haven't even bought projector paint yet and the picture is awesome! I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a big picture without paying the hefty fees for an actual tv. We have adjusted the picture anywhere from 100-125 inches and it's awesome! When girls come over they never want to leave. :)

Fantastic! and at this price!! All the reviews are true! This is really cool, once the wife saw it she said Now I see what you mean!! She's lovin it too..Every Football Fan Needs One!! Great picture!! especially Game day!.... First projector I've owned... and this is the way to go!! My next one will be 1080 and it will be a ViewSonic projector too... GREAT PRICE GREAT ITEM!!! (as a matter of fact... I'm shopping for it now) Update; after 3 weeks still loving this product!! I bought a sony 3d blu ray player, and 3d glasses, after doing some research I found that some projectors require a 3d processer,especially projectors under $500., I looked in to it, and found out I don't need to buy one with this unit, that's about a $220.00 savings right there... we will see... bought the glasses on Amazon waiting on delivery.. will update soon after I receive them... Update!! Still loving the projector,, but I do have one complaint... Where's the lens cover!! ?? other than that... Great projector..

I love the projector. Great quality and very bright. Mine came with a defect though. It has dust inside the lens (inside the lens itself, not the outside). I sent it in to be fixed and they sent it back untouched. Trying to get the unit replaced, but no luck yet.

I'm really happy with my 3D projector that I decided to buy another one. I like the connectivity and flexibility of mouthing. The resolution it great and the price is awesome. You can't get a better projector for the same price.

I bought this projector for my basement home theater. I was really amazed when I looked at the picture clarity and brightness. I am completely satisfied with the money I spent and what I got for it. I strongly recommend this for anyone who want to buy a good projector for a low price.

worked well when it did work. Pixels were huge on this model, but thats to be expected with its native resolution of 800x600. After less then 10hours of use the hdmi port would only work periodically. It just got worse and worse until it finally just stayed the viewsonic page witth the info in the corner saying "no signal". I tried different cables and different things, but nothing worked. Really bummed out this didnt' work.Returned for and exchanged for the PJD7820HD.

The movies come out really good from the projector. It serves it purpose as far as watching the movies. Easy to setup. Don't know how expensive the bulbs are though? Other than that good product for a good price.

It may not be the top line of its kind but it works really well. I can see all my movies, pictures & others clearly. I would recommend this to anyone!!

So far so good! Projector is bright, and just as important, very quiet. No loud fans. The only reason I took off a star is that the speaker on this thing SUCKS. Yes, I have since purchased other speakers, but it's really pretty bad, and you shouldn't expect to hear much if there's any background noise.

I am projecting on a white textured wall from 19 feet away. The room has one large window back next to the projector. I put darkening curtains in the window. It shows really well with the curtains open and even better with them closed. I bought the material to make a screen, but I honestly, I don't see the need for it. I think the only down side to this projector is that the bulb is very expensive to replace once it goes out. I have already recommended this projector to my friends.

If you're a novice to projectors, this will suffice.
Pros:
-Cheap
-Relatively low priced replacement bulb
-Good for movies or basic family use
-has HDMI input
Cons:
-Requires an absolutely dark room - any light washes out the picture
-Not good for gaming at all (too dark of a display)
-Settings for color, saturation and sharpness are not editable.
If you want a good projector for heavy movie watching and gaming, go for something prices higher. This projector is more of a family friendly device for the occasional use.

For the money this is an awesome projector. We use it in the basement to watch movies and play xbox. The picture quality is great for not being HD. I read many reviews and watched reviews on YouTube before purchasing and I wasn't disappointed at all. Only downside for me is there isn't a zoom on this. You'll need to determine where you want to mount it and project the picture before determining the screen size. I made my own screen so it was easy to get it the right size. There are plenty of YouTube videos on how to make your own screen cheap too.

Great product with incredible value. The projector is lightweight and extremely functional. The lamp takes only seconds to fully turn on and has plenty of functions. Works great as a movie projector in the theater room. Make sure you get a wall or ceiling mount to make installation really easy.

Although I went through a shipping nightmare with this item and ended up having to purchase it elsewhere; Amazon was very pleasant to deal with. The projector itself can't be beat for the price. Great picture quality. Have it connected to an onkyo av reciever, Which in turn has my Xbox one, apple tv and cable box connected.
Works very well in the day time, as long as thereis no direct sunlight.

I use this projector for traveling and presentations. It is light and has terrific output. I can connect this to a computer, a DVD, or a cable box. Output automatically switches to 16:9 if you need it, even though it's not native 16:9. Highly recommended.

Bought this for our office to use in presentations, and wish I'd done just a bit more research first. We project from laptops - widescreens with high native resolutions - and this projector just isn't up to snuff for that application. We lose a lot of clarity, especially in text. I don't want to dock the projector ratings too much, as it seems like a fine projector for movies; but not a good choice for an office that needs to have readable text presentations from relatively close distances.

This is an absolutely incredible piece of technology! I will never buy a TV again! I have this mounted in my living room, and it throws a six foot diagonal screen in beautiful HD! I play from HDMI in various computers, and it works perfectly.
You can project onto a white wall, and the effect will be perfect (even in the daytime). I bought a DIY screen and haven't even used it. Again, I cannot stress enough how much I love this projector. HIGHLY recommended.
NOTE: Get speakers if you don't have them, the sound on this thing is total crap, but I never use it anyway!

Colors are wonderful. Screen is big. Wish there was an auto focus feature, but that is a little thing. Please be aware that the HDMI cable can't be connected to a computer. You can use a DVD/blueray player to connect HDMI. I was a little disappointed in this, but the provided cable to connect the computer to the projector worked fine. Have also connected cable tv via the av inputs and it works wonderfully. So far I'm very happy with the purchase and it even works well with some ambient light so no need to shut off every light!

I went ahead and replaced my 37" vizio with this. The darker the room, the better the picture of course. But I think you'll be pleasantly surprised like most of these reviewers are with the picture quality, despite the native svga resolution. Keep in mind, on a bright day, you'll still get a glare with a tv.

I got the SainSonic Rainbow Series Black 3D Active Rechargeable Shutter Glasses for Mitsubishi, Samsung, Acer, BenQ, Optoma, Dell, Vivitek, NEC, Sharp, ViewSonic DLP-Link Projector and 3D Ready DLP HDTV, you can see my review on them too. It automatically recognizes and adjusts to the different types of 3d content if that content is 3d capable. For example, If I'm playing xbox, after enabling 3d in the xbox settings, the projector will automatically recognize and attempt to play it in 3d by entering "Frame Packing" mode. If watching regular espn on tv, where 3d content isn't enabled, it can attempt to play it in 3d if you select "Frame Sequential" mode in the projector's menu.
Two cons:
1. The speakers. They're just as loud as my laptop, which isn't too loud, but that can be fixed with some external speakers.
2. Only 1 HDMI port. That can be fixed with the Portta PET0301S 3x1 HDMI Switcher Support 3D, which I purchased too.

We use this everyday, and we love it. The quality is great no matter what color the wall is that we shine it on. My only complaints are that it gets extremely hot at times, which is to be expected, and it is a little big so we had a hard time finding a good spot for it.
