instructions only come in German ... we tried many time to get them to send us a book in English . never arrived . ! ? Did not do the job we bought it for broke after only a few times used . so fed up with it we just binned it . waste of good money

Although some features are not used regularly, this Vacuum orives to pack a real punch, easy to move around, quite handy and compact for being an industrial shaped and mostly built to last!!

I do not usually write reviews but I wanted to describe my experiences with this product. Here goes.
The Vax 6131T:
While it was a good dry vacuum and quite easy to use (lots of parts though so keep the instructions handy), it unfortunately developed a tear in the tubing in the washer head while washing the first room, and this may have been the reason that I found that it didn't wash as well as the other reviews have indicated. These things happen sometimes and Amazon were fantastic about arranging a replacement, very few questions asked. I will update this section of my review when I have tested the new Vax, as I am very hopeful that it will work as well for me as it has for others.
Delivery/collection:
Amazon arranged delivery with Yodel - this is where things started to go wrong. According to Amazon's tracking system, the delivery was misdirected at first so arrived a couple of days later than it would have otherwise. It then arrived on a day that I knew that I wasn't going to be at home but fortunately my neighbour was available. The second Vax arrived promptly.
I then booked a return via the Amazon website and chose the option of a courier collection. Once again, this was with Yodel.
The collection day came and went and the faulty Vax is still in my house. Here is where it gets interesting. Yodel were at my house delivering the replacement on the same date that I had booked the collection but would not take the package. The courier told me (I'm paraphrasing) "the guy who picks up in the area has already finished for the day. I can't take it because he didn't hand over the paperwork to me. I do not know if he will ever pick up your package."
I have contacted Amazon by email this morning and they have very quickly and efficiently arranged another courier (City Link) for later this week, but it means that I must spend yet another day in the house. Assuming that the faulty Vax is collected on Thursday, I will have spent 4 days at home in the past fortnight due to this one item. This is not acceptable, in my opinion, and I would urge Amazon to cease using Yodel. Due to other recent experiences with Yodel, I am very hesitant about ordering items from Amazon that will be sent by courier in the future, as there is no way of knowing which company will be used for delivery until after it has been dispatched.

This is my second vac, the first one lasted over eight years and is a great shampoo and vac.might be old fashioned but is best I have used.

Wasn't told that main brush was broken but clearly was known to be broken as part of it was taped to inside of cylinder , as I suffer with chronic back pain it is proving difficult to use with one of the smaller heads

This dual cleaner and carpet washer is Mich better than I hoped for considering its price.It may not be fancy but it does the job efficiently and well,I thought to only use it for the carpet washing,but in truth,I am using it for both! Very happy!!!

This is one of our most used bits of household equipment. It's is robust, effecient and very well built. Love it. This is the only vacuum cleaner that you need.

The vacuum works fine, good suction, but when i tried a Carpet washer the water- shampoo does not flow from the solution tube, solution does not dispense at all. I am sending it back.
But if i kept it it would be very difficult to store: you need to find place for a vacuum and for parts from washer, e.t. because if it set as a vacuum you need to keep somewhere a clean water tank, solution delivery tube, and heads. If it set as a washer you have to find place for a filter from vacuum and even a dust bag (you would be lucky if it not to full)

This is ok, not great, it doesn't really clean carpet, but it will suck up the water, so the best way to use it is to wash the carpet manually with brushes etc.. then suck up the water....Upholstery tools - excellent for cleaning car...

Needed the VAX purely to take up water in my cellar that has seeped in as a result of the continuous wet weather. Has great suction power so has made this difficult job a little easier.

If you're looking for a carpet washer look no further this is the perfect tool for the job. There are plenty others washers on the market including others models from Vax but unless you don't mind constantly changing the water or refilling the very small capacity upright cleaners then stick to this one with the by far the largest capacity for both.
In addition this machine has all the power (wattage) required to suck everything up leaving your carpets only damp to touch when you 're finished - try the less powerful machines and you'll regret waiting for ever for the carpet to dry out after you've finished.

the product is good, sometimes it does not suck well or during the intake goes into overload and shuts off and it emits a really loud noise. but I'm not an expert on vacuum cleaners so it is probably normal.

having owned an old model i am very pleased with the new one ,so easy to use as the cleaning head has wheels and the solution is now pumped fantastic!also with two small boys around it is on permanant standby!a note on the cleaning solution you can adjust the strength down or it will cost you a packet!

My mother's vacume cleaner was on the way out, we locally for a new one, those were proving expensive, so I went online to amazon, showed mum what was available, she picked one with all the tools, so I went ahead and ordered one. A few days later it came back and she has'nt stopped using it since. :-)

This thing is a beast! It cleaned my carpet floor so well it made it like brand new again. Although it does have a lot of parts and is bulky, it is still convenient to store away even in a limited living space like mine. The design is looks very retro but the important thing is that it performs and at a reasonable price.

I didn't buy mine from here but i bought it from a leading catalogue.
I have used it to wash my carpets, and dry vacuum and i have to say i was very impressed.
I bought it on the strength of the positive reviews because they outshone the more expensive vax rapide upright cleaners and i wasn't prepared to pay the rug doctor the hire price and so i thought it was easier and cheaper in the long run to buy my own.
My carpets are blue and so i haven't washed them in probably 5 years or more , believe me i know how disgusting that is, but its always one of those things that you mean to do but never get around too.
I got through 6 buckets on water on my living room carpet alone, that's the one thing i have to say you really need to keep an eye on as that water chamber empties really really fast.
Also for me i tried the vax carpet cleaner fluid and it didn't lift a thing on my carpets so i just put ariel laundry liquid with febreeze effect gel in the water instead and wow what a difference, it soaped up and lifted the stains off straight away and not only that left a gorgeous smell on my carpets.
I washed my living room, hall and bedroom and it took me less than an hour, but i did go through about 12 lots of water filling and i had to empty the main chamber 3 times, this however is not a chore at all and its so eay to do, just unclip from the sides and lift out, easy peasy.
I also was impressed by the cost of the spares which as we all know we will kneed to buy from time to time.
I bought replacement paper bags:
(Pack x 10) First4Spares Replacement Paper Dust Bags For VAX 3-in-1 Multifunction 6131, 3-in-1 Multivax 6131T,
but then found this little beauty and so only use this now which is absolutely brilliant as you can wash it in the washing machine and costs just a pound more than the paper ones

Personally i would take the risk and buy it, you don't have anything to lose, if you don't like it Amazon will give you a refund but it does come with a 2 year guarantee for additional peace of mind.
