I bought this to use in Europe. We have a house there and go every summer but we cannot stay more than 90 days! To get internet service there we would have to pay $100 for installation, and then sign a one year contract, and pay about $60 per month!! THEREFORE, it would cost us more than $800 for the first year. However, we could not use for 9 months out of the year but still be PAYING FOR IT!!However, we have a cousin that lives right behind us, and we can use his wifi but his house is about 150 feet away ours. IF WE go to the second floor we can get a weak signal but even then it is not consistent, but our room is on the first floor.So I bought this JUST to try it?? Luckily I got it on sale for $15.00 but it is well worth the $28 that Amazon is asking for it. I can now sit in my room, on the first floor, and get a signal of 4 to 5 bars, consistently, all of the time.A second benefit with this particular model is that it comes with a nice long USB cable, about 10 feet long. The cousin's house is behind our house, and my computer table is on the front side of our house. Therefore, the cable is PERFECT to set the wifi receiver at the rear of our house and then run the cable to the other side of our room.Other models the receiver plugs into the computer so you have NO EXTENSION away from your computer. Also those that do come with an extension cable, the cable is ONLY 3' - 4' long, basically useless for my need.You can take this model, mount it at a window and then set your computer ANY WHERE, within ten feet, and have excellent reception.

Purchased this unit because I was in an RV park for a period of time with marginal signal strength. So, I purchase this unit to help with that problem. It works perfectly. I was able to mount the unit high inside the RV on the wall and was able to get a full scale signal not only on the nearest Access Point, but I was able to get near full strength signal on a couple other APs too. That's helpful in this case because one of their APs kept going down and rebooting itself. So would do a Search of other Wifi signals and lock on to one of the other APs and problem solved. I recomment this unti to anyone who wants to improve their Wifi signal stregth.

i give this a 4 star be cos the USB Cord that come with is it made cheep it would wiggle with the slightest bump and Disconnect some times it would do it 3 or 4 times rely fast and my pc would Blue Screen however i whent and bout a new USB to USB-MICRO and now it works Wonder fulleven tho i had to buy a new cord i would still buy this wifi unit it works very well after u git a better cord very good range it picks up wifi from farther away the my C. Crain wifi antana witch was over $100 so even aster u buy a new cord its still ? the price as a more pricy unit

Our house is a 2-story, over 3000 square foot home. When we decided to go Wi-Fi, we thought we made a good choice as to the placement of the equipment. Well, we immediately found some poor areas for reception. One area was my office. So I looked on-line to see if they made a really good antenna. I found this one. After removing the garbage antenna that the internet provider installed, I plugged this one in and immediately saw the difference. My weak signal became excellent. I no longer dropped connection and the speed was now working at what it was rated. I think it was a great buy.

I'm sure this is a fine product if your are a Windows user, but if you only have Mac OS computers in the house (as we do) this won't work for you. It comes with a micro-CD that contains both the software and instructions. Micro-CD's cannot be used in the slot drives of an iMac and if you have a Macbook Air, even wishing won't make it so. At the time I bought this, the description was not specific on operating system limitations and the details online are very hard to find. User manual and software is just NOT available online. So, caveat emptor. Not for Mac users. The seller accepted a return without any issue. So again, I cannot comment on the quality of the product only it's limitations in regard to operating systems.

I use it everyday! Gives u a great range for your wi fi connection. You can even buy a higher db antenna to get more range!

Used with Windows XP MC to reach the router. Goes through 6 walls and and I have 5 full bars signal strength. Install (JUST THE DRIVERS)and it will work automatically. Do not install provided interface or will not work at all with XP.
